I am already guilt ridden... I fear there is no hope...

Cosmosis · 10/03/2010 16:17

I am mainlining alsorts, I love them!

SilverSky · 10/03/2010 16:17

well its ridiculous! If the stuff is that bad then it would be splashed all over the DONT TOUCH THIS STUFF OR YOUR KNOB WILL FALL OFF AND YOUR BAYBEE WILL BE HYPER pages of the what not to eat whilst diffed internet sites. Besides allsorts contain spinach which is good source of folic and vit d. So back at ya!

SkaterGrrrrl · 10/03/2010 16:21

My baby has done just fine on a diet of gin (first 2 months), crackers and icecream.

iggypiggy · 10/03/2010 16:30
SkaterGrrrrl · 10/03/2010 16:36

Also, I want this t shirt.

givecarrotsachance · 10/03/2010 16:39

Likorish is repulsive anyway and therefore your views on it are, too.

iggypiggy · 10/03/2010 16:40

skates i would like to convey that sentiment without having to wear that t-shirt

Perhaps if I just growl if people come too close?!

iggypiggy · 10/03/2010 16:44

Cosmosis · 10/03/2010 17:02

there is no point to eggs unless they are runny. so they are runny in this house, "rules" or not!

SilverSky · 10/03/2010 18:23

i feel sick. Going to bed. Prob not good idea to mix allsorts and wine gums.

rollerbaby · 10/03/2010 20:17

Poor Silver, I'm existing at work on toast and peanut butter plus carrot cake. Stops me wanting to retch. Still haven't actually chucked long may that last.

So... Carrots I agree I thought that the young girls mum (the paramedic) was a-mazing and exactly what she needed. Was very touching, if not a tad quick. My mum was late and long so I'm preparing myself for a week long labour.

Currently I am working my way through an M&S box of chocs - I HATE allsorts and wine gums!! Yeuch. Equally boiled sweets remind me of carsickess.

Cokie · 10/03/2010 20:33

Liquorice is minging, are you just all having some weird cravings? Otherwise I can not understand anyone actually wanting to eat it.

Honey did I read somewhere you were opting for C&W hospital?? Did you look at any others (Thomas's?) What do you think of C&W?

rollerbaby · 10/03/2010 21:19

Yep that's right we are. We're spending our life savings though and going for a consultant led birth in the Kensington Wing. Met him on Monday so feeling very happy about the choice to be honest. Thought about St Thomas's but C&W nearer to us and easier for ante natal appointments etc. I didn't think there was much in it, so convenience, recommendation and relative ease of drive from home decided it! Good range of food options on Fulham Road also a bonus!!

What are you thinking of doing?

skihorse · 11/03/2010 09:08

Silver What are pregnant women supposed to eat? I'd suggest dust except that'd probably give it a fucking allergy.

Licquorice alsorts are brilliant - they call them "English licquorice" over here but thankfully don't put the stupid bertie basset in them which is a relief.

Jailbait felt Julian move last night. I put my hand low down on my belly (by pubeline) and could feel tapping, so called him over and he felt it too!

Has anyone actually had a look around the New Look maternity collection? Is it worth me driving 40 minutes to look at?

Horsey laydeez - I've got my barefoot trimmer coming later. Unusual couple - he's an Ozzie who moved here 20+ years ago and seems to have forgotten English, she was a breast-feeding consultant so I love talking to her. They run a "natural horsemanship" style complex here - they do liveries with a lovely outdoor ethos with a 2-door barn so the horses can come and go as they please. Downside? No bits, preferably no bridles etc., etc. I'm happy to ditch the whip but I ain't ditching my bit - no way jose! I iz not total horse hippeh.

ski - Dress I'm wearing in bump photo is New Look, but not a maternity one, just an empire line one from one of their semi-'designer concessions'.

Bought two but the other one makes me look like Tits McGee so I've shelved it for when I'm back to my former svelteness

skihorse · 11/03/2010 09:31

cunty really? That's encouraging - I think I might pop over there one day then. I really miss UK clothes - I know that might sound a bit lame - but Dutch/Belgian clothes can be a bit tank-top/three-quarter length troos which just isn't me...

I am LOVING my maternity jeans btw - Next under-the-bump ones - dare I say it? I feel sexy!

Had a lovely moment in the hairdresser yesterday - a lady got her stylist to come over to mine and ask which number my dye was. I giggled, that'll be the 50% discount one at Boots then.

Honey that is good to know. I am also going private this time and having researched it C&W seems to be the best option for us purly on location. The other options (Portland, John and Lizzies and Thomas's) all seem a bit too far away and bearing in mind MrC is useless finding his way out of the end of our road norf London is just a bit too much of a stress! I also like the idea of being in a hospital with a neonatal unit on site as we needed it for #1, the thought of my baby been taken to another hospital while I may be stuck somewhere else terrifies me. So St. Thomas's and C&W are my options. I was with St. George's before but I don't think they have much of a private facility despite the special care unit being excellent! I am only 5+5 but I think I will give them a call later to see what the process is or is it way too early to call? I haven't even seen my GP yet (appt is on Monday)

rollerbaby · 11/03/2010 09:55

No definitely call now as they get booked up early. You need to contact the secretaries of the various consultants directly though. I made my appointment before you so don't worry. Also the neo natal ward is literally next door on the same floor so you won't have any concerns there...

givecarrotsachance · 11/03/2010 10:05

"Tits McGee"

iggs well me pointing it out irritated me coz obviously it was stupidly pedantic, as although you, ski and I may be pedantic about these things, it's only appropriate I think to point them out to the less educated . But given it was in an "I'm being pedantic" post I had to say it. Couldn't help it. It's like a tick.

Horsey gals... does anyone do this? I'm, say, driving down the road and I see a fence/hedge/park bench and I look at it and work out strides, take off, landing, etc. I haven't competed cross country since I was about 17, and I haven't even ridden a horse for about 4 years, yet I still do this. And I'd probably fall off if I was riding a horse who stepped over a twig so it's not that I'm "honing my skills".

AIBU?

iggypiggy · 11/03/2010 10:24

rots that doesn't make sense... I iz confused by your sentence - did you mean me pointing it out irritated you? but I wasn't trying to be pedantic - I was trying to be funny - cos I knows full well I lost the nob/ knob arguement

I do the strides thing - but I is still teaching - so am always striding distances for that - but ponies are harder than horses on that front!
