iggy once a week - blimey!

MAC no, my baby stuff company. You know, the one I don't want to mention here coz it's private here, not work but anyway "someone" will get my messages deleted if I do

at idea of putting make-up on a baby !! Pierced ears of course are fine (but only with big gold hoops)

SkaterGrrrrl · 03/03/2010 14:02

We're bonking on weekend mornings only, too tired at night!

Yes still considering going private but need to figure out if that means chi chi place like the Portland, or private ward in NHS hospital or hire me own midwife (seems excessive!).

I feel like it's a boy, but would be thrilled with either. If it's a girl I want my next one to be a girl too, because my sister and I are so close and I cant imagine not having her in my life, sisters are wonderful.

We arent going to find out the sex, mainly because we dont want to receive lots of pink or blue stuff. Determined to dress this baby gender neutrally.

Cosmosis · 03/03/2010 14:08

Weekend mornings only here too! Sleep is too important at night. Once a week, sorted.

I don't want to find out sex, neither does he. We both ahve a slight preference, but also both know when when it arrives we won't actualy give a toss about preferences so it's for the best not to find out.

iggypiggy · 03/03/2010 14:10

skates you can ask me about Portland but can't help with other stuff. I have heard v. good things about the MW led unit at the Portland tho? There are quiet a few freds on here about various private options.

iggypiggy · 03/03/2010 14:11

cossie and skater agree - we not finding our sex either!

Cosmosis · 03/03/2010 14:16

skates btw am so with you on gender neutral stuff however we are finding it hard to find much out there! even if we did want to know we aren't the sort of people to go out and do everything pink or blue as hate all that stereotyping.

skihorse · 03/03/2010 14:26

Skater Yeh, and good luck with finding baby clothes which are gender neutral which doesn't cost an arm and a leg!

I am only wanting it weekday mornings - usually about 4am when I can't get back to sleep after my 4am preggo pee. He says I can just "climb on" but that feels inappropriate and rapey to me... added to which every time I reach over he mutters something about "for the love of god it's xam and dark outside". But then he gets huffy because at 9pm I'm asleep on the couch and not wanting to swing from metaphoric chandeliers. We're getting it right 1-2 a week right now.

Am I the only one who will be finding out the sex then?

I have finally managed to get my credit card and ordering skills in alignment and will soon be the proud owner of maternity pyjamas/tankini/jeans/dress/etc. Now I just need to make a decision on my baps. I am soooo angry that I cannot get a nice bra over here without spending 50 euros plus just because I'm not a 32A. My current bra is too big around my ribcage and so it's giving me a "heaving bosem" rather than pert & perky breasts and I want the whole fucking world to know they're pert & perky before I bf and I tuck my nips in to my boots.

I can't find maternity bras over here at my measly A cup, they all seem to start at a b!

skihorse · 03/03/2010 14:35

Cossie Once again you and I sit opposite sides of the too thin/fat to have a baybee!

What is everyone doing for knickers? Has anyone bought maternity knickers yet? I'm still in enormous lycra lady boxers which once came up to my underwire but now just my bellybutton. I feel maternity strings are very wrong. Commando is probably the way to go...

iggypiggy · 03/03/2010 14:46

I iz just wearing my normal knickers?

cos there is some here innit

Cosmosis · 03/03/2010 14:49

i is still wearing my normal knickers.

ski the lady in teh shop I spoke to on Sat said hopefully 'maybe they'll grow a size'. And what if they don't???

givecarrotsachance · 03/03/2010 14:54

cos I have no sympathy for your tiny breasts. Mine are now popping out of my DD and while I spent my life pre-LC as a "C" wanting bigger knockers, I now understand why people would complain when they had them.

ski I went into size 16 knicks and they're ok. I bought maternity ones with LC which I then wore for about 3 years afterwards although I did wash them from time to time.

ROFL at you all wanting to be all feminist and gender-neutral. Believe me, when you get the 64,000th comment on your "gorgeous little baby girl" you'll be putting him in blue. LC has HUGE brown eyes with the longest eyelashes which were especially noticable when he was an ickle baby (he's grown into the eyes a bit, if not the eyelashes). I was also of the opinion that it didn't matter even to put a boy in pink, although somehow when he was born 't all went blue.

That said, in my defence, he still has a doll and a little pink dolly cot.

skihorse · 03/03/2010 14:55

Stuff the cups with socks?

Thank you for that website iggy I will check it out. Are any of the rest of you still in underwire? Do you feel as though your tits will drop off at any given moment?

OP posts:
iggypiggy · 03/03/2010 14:56

ski sorry I don't think you need to look at the link - that is an a- cup maternity bra site for cossie

I did see some maternity knickers on Amazon tho?

givecarrotsachance · 03/03/2010 15:12

BTW cos just to interpret what you mean by "what if they don't", if you're worrying about breastfeeding (and apologies if I mis-interpreted that) then please don't. Having smaller boobs makes discreet feeding much easier, and makes no difference to your milk supply. And of course you understand that I'm just of your sleek figure .

Cosmosis · 03/03/2010 15:13

fanks for the link iggs will peruse. Someone loves the smaller boobied amongst us !!

I don't actually want bigger knockers, I'd look like Dolly Parton ! I'm in proportion as I am, I would just like to clothe them appropriately

GrumpyGasper · 03/03/2010 15:21

Knickers - wearing normal ones. But did invest in bigger sizes anyway around Christmas.

Gender - ski I am in your club, remember. Saturday morning... However I have loads of gender neutral stuff (enough for newborn), gleaned from the odd shop and ebay. won't go go into blue or pink overdrive, but you can get much beyond sleepsuits when it comes to neutrals. (covets cute baby dungarees...)

Boobs - Mine went up to a D from a B cos and now look smaller than ever thanks to the bump. I do find bras very uncomfy by the end of the day, so whip them off when I get home from work. I have accumulated some more M&S vouchers, so might invest in more bras. I have two that fit at the mo. One black, one white. One for me, one for the wash. I refuse to spend a fortune on these dinky bumps.

Today SFF assured me he would be there to help in the middle of the night. I reminded him that he does not have tits

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 03/03/2010 15:30

igs if it isn't too personal a question, what inside leg are your posh maternity jeans?

SilverSky · 03/03/2010 15:33

husband is having severe sex withdrawal. Not had any, prob since conception! Its making him a right moody oik. Sort yourself out mate. I am so not in the mood. Tum is tender and even affectionate snuggling is not fun at the mo. I do understand its tough on him but if he felt like i do he would not want any action either.

SilverSky · 03/03/2010 15:36

oh and think husband wanted to find out sex. I do not.

Dilemma? Nope. What i say goes.

iggypiggy · 03/03/2010 15:43

VAG is not personal - I assume this is what they mean by inseam? says this on website:

Inseam 34-35 inches (link here

Which is too long for me - but the shop I bought them at did free alterations n 2 days - so I had them taken up.

grumps can tell what they look like in person

iggypiggy · 03/03/2010 15:43

can tell you what they look like

duh

Ponymum · 03/03/2010 16:40

OMG! OMG! I am no longer an unemployed slattern! I have actual real work! (Lovely timing, hey what?) Given the baby situation they want me to do as much as I can from home between now and the big day. Bummer that they really wanted me for a big July target date. Somehow don't think that's going to happen...

givecarrotsachance · 03/03/2010 16:55

Oh wow! Fantastic! Doing what, OMGponiez?

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 03/03/2010 17:26

Yay for long-legged jeans! Thanks igs - I might have to look into those (feared my leg length would curtail my trouser-buying yet again).

Good news pony!
