vix206 you probably know this already but I think you can get £123.06 per week for up to 39 weeks when your self employed on Maternity Allowance. Maternity pay pretty standard for me 6 wks full pay and then statuatory after that, not amazing but at least I won't have to pay anything back if I don't come back to work, which I probably won't do.

I had a lovely weekend away in Skye, nice and relaxing although there was lots of tasty food that was off the menu for me and a lovely looking hot tub outside that I looked at longingly! but all the same a lovely weekend

Back to work today - rubbish!! however scan date getting closer (just over 2 weeks now) and I'm really looking forward to it at the moment so i'm embracing that. Think I'll tell my boss next week so that I can get time off for my appoinments easily.

augustsun - agree that you must chase her! You should have had blood and urine tests by now if nothing else.

Thanks mrsZaC, we run a limited company so officially I am an employee. I know I can get SMP its more the fact that the business needs me in order to continue. So I'm being pulled in all directions unfortunately, but luckily we have a nice large office with room for a second nursery and as its just the 2 of us here I can bring the little one in with me. But hoping I can get away with at least 6 weeks off and then part time hours. Trying not to think about it too much if I'm honest. I'd love to be able to just take the time off but we have to eat!

I had a bright red bleed this morning - I Spoke to the community midwife who asked me when my 12 week scan was (its tomorrow pm) so she said to wait to till then.... am nervous.......

feeling crampy too - luckilly I was on a course with work this morning which finished at lunch so I have come home, out some washng on, canged our bed and now I am vegging. Boys will be home from school soon and I am feeling bad that they are going to get chicken dippers, chips and heinz spag, as they have been at their dads this weekend who feeds them crap so I was going to do them a little roast dinner, but just cant face it

Hope you are all well . Just popping in to tell you a funny story. I have been having seriously weird dreams and thought I'd share the latest with my Mum so I sent her a text saying "last night I dreamed I was breastfeeding a kitten but realised I shouldn't as it would be unhygienic for the baby but when I tried to get the kitten off it bit my boob and all my milk leaked away! Call the men in white coats!". Instead of sending this text to her mobile I accidentally sent it to her house phone so she got this phone call with an automated voice reciting this message about breastfeeding kittens and to make it worse it came up as "unknown caller" as I sent it from my work blackberry. She thought it was some lunatic prank call! Would have totally freaked my Dad out if he'd picked up the phone...

I go away for a couple of weeks and everyone moves to a new thread! Hope everyone is keeping well. I had my scan last week and everything went well, have started telling people now which is great seeing how everyone is so excited! Am also starting to ey up the maternity jeans i'm putting on so much weight....

Bleeding has stopped - more or less, sorry if TMI but its gone like watery brown...? Scan at 11.30 and I am bricking it - I almost dont want to go.

Did cook the boys a proper dinner - even made some yorkshire puds (their favourites.
