Nikki87 · 10/02/2010 20:28

ooo, crossed post watercress congrats too glad to hear SPD has cleared up, hope mine ends up clearing after birth!

AngelaCarleen · 10/02/2010 20:29

Binzle I had SPD and the midwife told me to write in my birth plan that I wanted to give birth on all fours and also that if I needed forceps/ventouse I wanted to hold my knees rather than allow them to put my legs in stirrups.

My mother is visiting and yesterday cuddled Poppy for 9 hours straight, end result was that she wouldn't settle last night. Grrr , poor baby was soooo over tired.

Good luck to everyone struggling with breastfeeding.

threeplusone · 10/02/2010 20:59

Congratulations watercress.

Things still the same.. DH has gone to the airport to get his mother as his dad wanted to go with him and the lad who was going to go hadnt got back to us.. he phoned 30 mins after DH had left asking were to go..
Not his f\ault bles him as DH never told him he wuld have to come to ours firstg to get FIL then go to the sairport adding time into his journey.. MEN..

TBH part of me thinks i will be keeping my hospital appointment on friday.. we will see

InmaculadaConcepcion · 10/02/2010 22:04

Wow! congrats to comeon and watercress on the arrival of Iris and Shona!

AbsB · 10/02/2010 22:20

CONGRATS comeonbishbosh and watercress - that is such good news! Good luck!!!!

Just watched channel 4 programme again, I know a bit obsessive but I am fascinated. I still can't get over Steve, Finley's dad! I cannot get over it - what is his problem? and he's a POLICEMAN! I've never seen anything quite like it... poor woman was clearly in agony, why did he antagonise her like that??? Sorry to go on about it but it is quite shocking.... I agree Nikki what was that poor boy doing there? He was acting up for his father's sake but was clearly worried about his mum, and it made my heart melt when he asked her if she wanted him to hold her hand. He was sweet!

Anyway, off to bed early... sending positive relaxing painless labour vibes...

sunnybump · 10/02/2010 22:54

Hiya folks!

Congrats, Labour Inducing/ Restful hang on vibes to everyone. Haven't had a chance to catch up because on Monday afternoon I went into labour!

Our beautiful son, Arlo, was born in the pool at 22.22 on 8/2/10 weighing 7lb10oz. Will post more about that later

We got home this evening, and are all doing well. Hope to catch up as soon as I can.

binzle · 10/02/2010 23:16

AngelaC
Did you have an epidural or any other pain relief?

binzle · 10/02/2010 23:21

Abs, I just cant understand how anybody would think it funny to lock a woman in labour in the loo, totally agree the boy was quite sweet but the dad

threeplusone · 10/02/2010 23:40

threeplusone · 11/02/2010 00:33

pyjamababe · 11/02/2010 04:34

Also, achy left hip, heartburn, shooting pains, cankles and carpel tunnel syndrome

Sorry for the rant!

threeplusone how exciting, fingers crossed indeed! watercress what a gorgeous name Shona is, I love it! Congrats sunnybump, I'm still hoping for a waterbirth so look forward to reading more about that

Love to all x

TotallyAndUtterlyPaninied · 11/02/2010 06:14

Hi all, just a quick one. I've got my sweep today at 38 weeks and I've been up all night yet again so I'm going to be too tired to give birth... what can I do??

Getting induced on Saturday, eek.

Loving the baby names- especially Arlo, that's lovely.

Is anyone else itchy as hell all over?

Pyjamababe- I'm dying of heartburn too. FGS don't get yourself a chicken mayo and salad bun, it makes ya chuck up like never before!! Fortunately my craving is crunching gaviscon cool.

I've got a scan today, too. Fingers crossed she's not over 10lb yet!

InmaculadaConcepcion · 11/02/2010 07:07

And another one! Fantastic news, sunnybump! Arlo - cool name. Good luck to the whole family.

Just struck me that we're starting to assemble quite a flower garden, what with Poppy, Rosie and Iris.Eat your heart out, Alan Titchmarsh!

flyingcloud · 11/02/2010 08:19

Apologies, iPhone update!
Victoria was born yesterday at 10:20am... Tuesday night I couldn't sleep and from about 10pm I started to get contractions which were 5-7 mins apart.
So I had a bath which only made things worse and speeded up the cx! At 2am I woke up DH as they were 2-3 mins apart.
We went to the hospital and I was 3cm dilated so they told me to hang around and go for a walk, Dh and I walked around for about 45 mins and by the end I was screaming for the epidural! I was 4cm so moving slowly.

The Anaesthetist came at 4:45 am! Cue more swearing at Dh during that time. We then both slept until 6.30 and it was bliss...

At 6.30 they broke my waters and put me on a syntocin drip as I was 5cm so still moving slowly.

By 10am I was at 10cm and the contractions were back despite all the pain relief. I'm a wimp! I started pushing and by 10:20 Victoria had made her entrance iinto the world. She weighed 3.34kg and is the greatest achievement of my life, perfect in every way.

I have a tear but other than that we are both well and all very very happy!

stoofadoof · 11/02/2010 08:45

wow! what a clutch! Congratulations to watercress sunnybump flyingcloud ... lovely to hear your news!

3plus1 fingers crossed you'll be getting busy VERY soon now!

stick in there everyone else - whether it's pg stuff or getting on with the bf or coping with the sleep deprivation!

still nothing doing here and the power is back on now (hurrah) - off to bed!

night night all... have a good thursday!

Nikki87 · 11/02/2010 09:12

congrats flyingcloud and sunnybump, very jealous!
think i had my show last night [is doesnt have to have blood in it does it??] so woke DP to let him know, just incase, got a grunt and went back to sleep, asked him about it this morning and he remembers nothing, typical, lol!
got my electro acup today so hoping that will move things along a little too, you never know, i might be one of these people who actually give birth on the right day, lol!!
3plus1 got my fingers crossed for you!!!
totally my stomach is itchy like hell, im moisturing about 3times an hour to stop it but i have just developed tons of stetch marks, so i think it may be them itching [i hope!!]

FluffyCoo · 11/02/2010 09:36

Wow, so many new babies!! Slightly that so many seem to be popping a tiny bit early!! Warmest congrats to all new mummies - have updated the list and hope i haven't got anything wrong/missed anyone - please amend if I have!! I miss the awesome admin skills of Woowa! AbsB · 11/02/2010 09:48

Congrats Flyingcloud and Sunnybump - I can't keep up with all these births, it's fantastic! Great names!! You must be so thrilled to be holding your LO and to have the births over and done with!!!!!

I'm getting really excited now!

fiziwizzle · 11/02/2010 12:11

Wow, so many babies since I last checked! Many many congratulations to galadriel, comeonbishbosh, watercress, sunnybump and flyingcloud. I'm sure you're all enjoying getting to know your LOs.

Ooh I'm so !!

Totally I feel your pain on the sleeplessness. Every time I go a night without sleep I am convinced I will go into labour as that's when I'll be least able to cope with it. For some reason I can usually sleep in the day even when I can't at night, is that an option for you?

3+1 fingers crossed for you! And you too Nikki!

We're snowed in today, so I'm now sending the baby 'don't arrive' messages as last time it snowed like this, home births were cancelled. Not that it has shown any sign of arriving, anyway... Today I'm going to take everyone's advice and RELAX as there's nothing else I can do!

AngelaCarleen · 11/02/2010 12:18

Binzle I had to have a section as Poppy was breech. I wouldn't have been able to have an epidural as they don't offer it at the local hospital, and although I didn't get as far as actually pushing I was having pretty big contractions and the gas and air was fab!

Speak to your midwife, they should have loads of experience with women with SPD.

My mother has gone home, yippee!!

threeplusone · 11/02/2010 12:55

Congratulatiosn flyingcloud Nikki fingers crossed for you.. I am still here.. still having lots of irregular tightening/contractions.. some are painful some are ok.. Hopefully they will defo give me a sweep tommorrow now to get things moving.. might even try Hmm hmm sex tonight if DH will oblige (sp!!)

threeplusone · 11/02/2010 12:56

stoofadoof sorry ment to mention hope things start for you soon, and glad you have your electric back on .x

sunnybump · 11/02/2010 14:15

More congratulations! Managed to read but Arlo wants his Mummy's Milk now! Just wanted to quickly say don't worry about the births, you will all be absolutely fine and cope brilliantly. I did and I am amazed!

Sunny (not so bumpy) x

InmaculadaConcepcion · 11/02/2010 14:40

Lovely news flyingcloud! Welcome Victoria.

She can join the flowers in the garden - some sweet-tasting fruit and glorious Spring blossom will compliment them perfectly...
