Brasso4 · 31/01/2010 21:17

Erin Elizabeth born 29th January at 11.49am, weight 6lb 5oz. Long labour bit of feeding stress but all home and ok now.

mama2moo · 31/01/2010 21:24

Please someone tell me Im not the last one?!!

brasso4 Congratulations, I hope you are recovering well.

Actually just realised that Im getting pains again. I dont even notice them now!! They are the same as before though so not bothered.

biccy do the pains you getting now feel different to what you have had before??

maygirl · 31/01/2010 21:32

Congrats brasso4

I'm still here so you're not last mama2moo! I'm the only ones with no signs too it seems.... I knew I should have joined Due in Feb thread!

mama2moo · 31/01/2010 21:40

maygirl Thank god for that

My twinges are getting quite painful now but they are worse when baby moves IYSWIM. Off to bed now which Im sure will stop them as usual!

Biccy · 31/01/2010 22:17

Hi mama, these are definitely different. with the BHs I would have quite a few minutes of period type pain and the really hard tummy. These definitely peak and trough, and it goes totally in between. It's the thing I remember finding really weird last time, the pain really does completely vanish in between and I feel totally normal. Sometimes I feel them in my bottom too - keep thinking I need to go to the loo, but it's just another one starting off. Doesn't seem to be progressing fast though, which is a relief in some ways as I didn't want a mega fast labour, on the other hand after last Sunday's fiasco I really want to be sure it's going to happen, so I'm impatient for it to get full on.

Biccy · 31/01/2010 22:19

Congrats brasso, what a lovely 'on time' baby!

Okay, mama, I can't type through them now, just have to concentrate and breathe.

Baby is wriggling like crazy!

maygirl · 31/01/2010 22:26

Shakes labour pom poms, then stalks off to sulk

Fibilou · 01/02/2010 04:57

Still here . Have mentally acknowledged now that I won't be having the baby in the MLU and will end up with a horrific induction in the horrible filthy local hospital.

Biccy, I really hope you've had yours now although I will be very jealous if you have.

mama2moo · 01/02/2010 04:58

I think things are finally happening here! Been awake for an hour after having what I think is a show and getting mild pains now.

Good luck biccy

Fibilou · 01/02/2010 05:00

Jesus, am I going to be the last one on this thread ?

I can't sleep and I am trying not to cry

Fibilou · 01/02/2010 07:35

This post from October sums up exactly how I feel today

"I feeling a bit disappointed (and guilty) as I seem to be getting less excited about meeting my baby. I'm hoping that its just because I can't believe that she is going to finally turn up"

I'm so desperate for this to be over now that I don't care at the moment what the end result is and whether I come home with a baby or not is completely immaterial. I feel really shitty today

sockmonkey · 01/02/2010 07:57

fibi (hugs)

So sorry you are feeling so fed up. Baby will have to arrive at some point, and they don't tend to let you go more than 2 weeks over... it's just that those are the 2 longest weeks of your life.

mistletoekisses · 01/02/2010 08:52

Fibi - Oh honey. to you. I second sock and say that they must be the longest two weeks of your life.

Your LO's will be here soon! I promise.

Biccy - you ok?

Fortunately DH is supportive of my desire to avoid induction so at least we will be singing from the same hymn sheet so to speak.

Southwestwhippet · 01/02/2010 12:37

Hello everyone,

just to let you know that Francesca Margaret was born on 30th Jan at 5:30am, 12days overdue. Sadly not a home birth as planned, I transfered to hospital in the end as I couldnt achieve established labour (got to 7cm without regular contractions!) and baby and I were becoming exhausted - took 24 hours to get to the magic 4cm then another 12 to reach 7cm...

However had waters broken in hospital which seemed to do the trick and was really happy to achieve a natural birth in the end - baby weighed 7lbs 15. Frankie is beautiful, I am absolutely besotted. The MWs were great, really determined I should get as near to what I wanted as possible despite not being at home so I got my skin to skin/cord not cut til stopped etc - I am left feeling really positive about the whole experience.

DP also did loads of early bonding as I had a little trouble with 3rd stage due to exhaustion/blood loss so he had over an hour 1-2-1 with Frankie while I was sorted out, which was really nice for him

We are all home now and relaxing on the sofa gazing at our gorgeous daughter.

Good luck to everyone especially those waiting for late babies-I think I went a little crazy those last few days but it was soooo worth it!

crumpette · 01/02/2010 15:42

Congratulations southwestwhippet and new arrivals

fibilou hope your LO comes soon. I think it's very sensible to avoid induction for as long as pos as, having been induced twice, it's rubbish, medicalised, leads to more interventions and all that jazz. So even if LO doesn't arrive of own accord for a while you've still made the best decision on that front

biccy hope your baby is here by now?

Biccy · 01/02/2010 17:41

quick update: our gorgeous baby boy arrived at 04.12 today, at home. in pool as planned, 20 mins after midwife got here! 9ibs 4oz and soooooo beautiful.

congrats to other new mummies. Sorry you're still waiting fibi, it is worth it in the end!

Fibilou · 01/02/2010 18:12

Just to let you know that I am signing off from Mumsnet until I have had the baby. I am scaring myself witless reading horrific induction stories so it's making me more and more anxious. Will let you know if this baby ever comes out.

Congrats Biccy x

CantThinkofFunnyName · 01/02/2010 18:12

Biccy - woohoo!!! Fabulous fantastic brilliant news!!!! Name??

So pleased he is here safe and sound and that you sound elated.

x

mama2moo · 01/02/2010 18:34

biccy Congratulations

fibilou Im sorry you are having a tough time. I too was scared sh!tless about having an induction after a, googling it and b, asking on here! I emailed a friend last night who had one a month ago and she said it was fine. So long as you stay in control of what you want it seems to be ok.

Still no baby here. Its been a long day. Still getting contractions that are building in pain but they can be an hour apart.

The show is still coming and not as brown now.

skidoodle · 01/02/2010 19:20

just a quick update - I had a big, fat girl (10lb 3oz!) on fri by elcs

she has dimples and dark hair. feeding going well, milk in

just home today

v happy

CantThinkofFunnyName · 01/02/2010 19:53

Skidoodle - wow she is a corker! Name? I'd say thank your lucky stars it was ELCS and not pushed out at that weight !

Fibi - oh honey, don't be worried about induction - it's just childbirth. Some people have really easy labours, some don't - the same with induction. Every pregnancy is different, every birth is different. Please don't scare yourself about all of this. Totally understand you disappeaing for a bit though - but please come back

mama2moo · 01/02/2010 19:57

skidoodle Congratulations, what a great size. She must be lovely to snuggle up to

mistletoekisses · 01/02/2010 20:09
