July 2010 - a quieter thread for those who can't keep up!

Hi there

I have been on the July thread, but it moves so fast and as I don't have time (or energy being so sleepy), I can't keep up with everyone who is on several times a day! If anyone else wants to join me in a slower thread to share how your pregnancy is developing, feel free!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
lollopops · 23/01/2010 20:17

Hi gibbon, yeah I'm hoping I feel better too. Mind you, the kids have been letting me take it easier, bless them!

Hi tobago, congrats to you too. Hope things are going ok

Sorry to hear that mrscrocoduck. When I had my scan, they found a 'small hetergenous (sp) behind left sack, appearance may represent an area of haemorrhage'. Wasn't quite sure what this all meant, but sonographer reassured me that there was nothing to worry about. Hope everything goes ok on Tues, keep us posted

GibbonInARibbon · 25/01/2010 09:09

Hope all goes well tomorrow mrscrocoduck. I get cysts from time to time and they always go without the need to drain etc. I'm sure the consultant will put your mind at rest tomorrow

skihorse · 25/01/2010 10:17

Good luck mrscrocoduck

I am back from the midwife this morning where my blood pressure was taken and we listened to the heartbeat which was brilliant. She let me hold the scanner so I could hear it vibrating in my hand too! My blood pressure is very low... which is odd, given that I'm overweight and the NHS/medics everywhere have declared that being overweight I am about to have my high BP pregnancy woes/gestational diabetes and probably syphylis too!

lifeistooshort · 26/01/2010 11:50

lollopops I had the same thing as you.
All is well here. Babyshort is being ignore due to me working to hard and being sick. I have been sick since Xmas and had to go to the doctor last week as I was feeling worse. Turns out I had pneumonia. I wasn't massively keen on taking antibiotics but with hindsight it was probably the right decision as I was deteriorating fast and the permanent high temperature (between 39 and 39.9) can't have been good for the baby. Slowly recovering now so today I thought I would do something for the baby and called independent midwifes yeah!

I hope everyone is well and that MS has subsided for all now. I was quite sick when I had pneumonia and really felt for you all with MS.

skihorse · 26/01/2010 12:12

lifeistooshort eek - pneumonia sounds scary - I hope you're well on the mend now! I am still suffering from the ms but at least I have medicine to take now when it's too much for me to cope with.

I've just booked in for my 20 week scan which is terrifying, 8th March.

Aussieng · 26/01/2010 12:54

You're a day ahead of me Ski mine is on the 9th. I'm keeping it quiet at work as the scan appointment should just get me out of a schlep over to Bristol too so long as I do not give them enough time to reschedule.

Hope all goes well with the cyst appointment MrsC. Apparently I have a fibroid (I have no idea if that is similar or not) but no-one seems interested in looking at it until 20 weeks. I think it keeps twinging though.

Touching wood with every bit of my body but no puking for 2 whole days and ms seems muchly under control at the moment....

lifeistooshort · 26/01/2010 13:10

skihorse mine is on the 8th too. I hope we get a good look at little babies in there then.

tobago04 · 26/01/2010 13:35

Hope your feeling better lifestooshort what a nightmare!
Hope all goes well today mrsc
It's lovely hearing the heartbeat is'nt ski,my next midwife appointment is in feb when the kids are off so thought i might take them with me so they can hear it,
My scan is on the 10th,we'll all have to compare scan pictures

GibbonInARibbon · 26/01/2010 13:35

My MS seems to be abating too, lets hope in the next few weeks we are all rid of it for good.

Felt my first proper movement today have been feeling flutters last few weeks but today was a 'oohh yes that definitely feels familiar!'

Feels so lovely, was 20 weeks with DD so great to feel earlier this time.

Hope everyone is well and the scan goes well today MrsCroc

lifeistooshort · 26/01/2010 14:59

Hope consultant went well Mrs Crocoduc

No movements felt here yet, but am alway so busy I probably wouldn't have noticed anyway. At the rate I am going, the baby will come out in July and I will be all surprised to see him/her there!

ApuskiDusky · 26/01/2010 19:13

Aussieng and Gibbon, glad to hear you're getting better. I've suddenly started showing, and the non-maternity clothes are increasingly being relegated to the spare room. Bizarrely there's something satisfying about having a small wardrobe of what I can wear, it seems easier to work out what to put on! Though I know from last time how much I hated some of my maternity wardrobe by the end.

Funny that people's scan dates are getting them out of stuff, I have managed to avoid an overseas meeting because of my scan. I felt pressure to try to move it, but I have to see the consultant and he only 'does' Thursday afternoons, so moving it wasn't an option! Result!

BigMomma3 · 26/01/2010 20:00

Hi all - can I join this thread? Pretty please! I'm due 23rd July and have a 13 yr old daughter and {nearly} 8 yr old twin boys. So will have quite a big age gap and have been told many times that we are crazy and should be finished with all the baby stuff! It was a happy accident although I had been thinking about one last one for a while! DD is looking forward to scandalizing people by pretending it's hers and that I'm the grandma!

This will be baby No5 as we a lost a DD 9 years ago to a rare fatal syndrome that no one has heard of. So am very worried and stressed and not enjoying this pregnancy which I am quite annoyed at myself for because I really wanted to as it will be very, very last!! 12 week scan was good and will be having another very indepth one (at 15 weeks) next week at a fetal medicine unit in London to screen for the syndrome my DD2 had. Will hopefully be be able to relax and enjoy after that!!

I am still off most foods except carbs and can't eat a full meal, just constantly picking and getting fatter! Have also felt definite movements since about 10 weeks , I am assuming because the twins completely knackered my stomach muscles . Still very tired and feeling sicky. Am awaiting the 'bloom' with great excitement! I have never felt as crap as in this pregnancy and I was working full time with others (am SAHM with the DCs at school all day this time). Must be my age (38) or my body saying 'enough already' .

gemma137 · 26/01/2010 22:59

Hi everybody,im a newy on mumsnet and a newy to pregnancy. Agh, ms, never knew it was all day long. So happy in second trimestre with things hopefully looking up. My mum bought me first pair of maternity jeans, very comfy though havnt got much to hold up at the moment. Cant wait for second scan in feb. Due date 13th of july, a month before my birthday best present ever.
Hope everyone feels better soon and we all get that "Bloom" we all need!

GibbonInARibbon · 27/01/2010 08:07

Welcome BigMomma and Gemma and congrats!

Very sorry to hear about your DD BigMomma, I can imagine with your fears and feeling poorly it's been a tough few weeks but hopefully after your scan and the MS lifts you can start to relax

I have needed my maternity clothes so much earlier this time, I have been amazed. I got to 6 months with DD before anyone really noticed. This time I was in maternity wear at 14 weeks

How did the scan go MrsC?

Result indeed re the meeting clashing with your scan appointment Apuski!

FactsAndFigures · 27/01/2010 11:08

Hi all,

I had my nuchal fold scan at beginning of Jan and my EDD changed from 8th to 12th July, my 20wks scan is on 23rd Feb.

I really feel for you ladies who are suffering with MS - I had a sickness bug at the weekend and really felt awful, really don't know how I would cope if it was a daily occurance!! I've also been wondering if the baby has been ok during this bug, as I really didn't eat much for 48hrs, before the bug I was hungry pretty much all of the time!! Before I was ill I had the occasional flutter but since the weekend I've not felt anything - I'm trying not to worry but it's easier said than done.

I have a Midwife appointment on Tues so keeping my fingers crossed until then

GibbonInARibbon · 27/01/2010 15:02

At this stage I have found the movement feeling come and go FactsandFigures

Sallypoo · 29/01/2010 13:26

Hello all,

May I join? Due on the 12 July with DC number 2. My DS was 2 at end of December. All going well, although I am getting very frustrated that I've not 'felt' any kicks yet. Baby brain means I can't remember when I did last time....

There seem to be lots of us due in July, doesn't there!

GibbonInARibbon · 30/01/2010 17:26

Welcome and congrats Sallypoo! Yes there seems to a baby boom due in July

Sam001 · 01/02/2010 14:29

Hope your ok mrsc

BigMomma3 · 02/02/2010 16:04

Hi All. Had scan at UCH today and all good. I am a low risk for a repeat of the syndrome that I lost my DD to but will need to wait until 20 weeks for a definitive OK.

I made the mistake of asking the Professor is she could see the sex and she said that it looks like a boy!! Am only 15 weeks so she could'nt be 100% but as she is a highly trained obstetric professor and was using very high tech scanning equipment, I am inclined to believe her .

I can't believe I will have 3 boys! DD (aged 13) was actually not as disappointed as I thought she would be! Just said 'oh no, not another smelly boy'. I did tell her that as long as she treats them right (she's a bit of a bully to our twin boys aged 8), she will have 3 big strong men to do her bidding when she's older .

ApuskiDusky · 02/02/2010 19:54

Hi BigMomma, glad to hear the scan went well today, hopefully you can relax a little now. And congrats on the news that it (might be) a boy!

I'm resting up at the moment, after suffering some bad cramping - which seems to have been brought on by me lifting some heavy boxes at work. After resting a bit, the mini-kicks I've been getting started, so I'm a bit more chilled about it now. Lesson learned!

And I'm off to the midwife tomorrow for a somewhat belated 16 week check-up, as I forgot that you have to wait at least 3 weeks to get an appointment. She's going to take some more blood as I suspect I may be a bit anaemic. Or I've just forgotten that pregnancy makes you knackered and dizzy.
