Was quiet on here on the weekend - guess everyone is busy getting ready for Christmas. We took DC to DH's parents on Saturday - we're not seeing them over Christmas as want to spend as much time as poss with my DB and SIL while they're over here. MIL's work had a children's Xmas party on Sat and DS loved it. They had an entertainer who did ventriloquism, magic and animal balloons, then they had party food and then each saw Father Christmas and got a gift. Then we went back to PIL for the children to get their gifts and us to give neice & nephew theirs. Yesterday was spent setting up the Thomas train and road set PIL bought for DS - only place for it is on his bedroom floor and it takes up all the space! We can't tear him away from it. He had a major tantrum when I tried to get him out the door to church yesterday morning, but in true toddler style was fine by the time we got 10 foot from the door

Tink - sounds like your DDs had a good time on the weekend with your parents and ball sounds good.

Right, must get set for the day - DD already in 2nd set of clothes as I turned my back for 2 mins and she tried to help herself to DS' apple juice in a cup... ah well, onward and upward.

Morning.

It is far too early to be awake. I'm at work at 7 so I have to get up at 5 so I can get a chance to wake up before going to work.

Is everyone ready for Xmas? Just need to wrap a few presents here and we're done. DH's is being delivered today and he is under strict orders not to look at it.

DS1 insists that Father Christmas has to put his presents on his table instead of under the tree.

Hope everyone is ok.

cantmummyhaveabreak · 22/12/2009 09:29

hello- we have about 3 inches of snow- for the second day running!! off to our local shops soon... just hope we make it!!

Can't decide wether to take DD2 in the sling or pram... means if i fell she'd possibly get squashed, or having to push the pram up and down the big hill on the way.... :S

essenceofSES · 22/12/2009 09:33

Morning!

Kay - has the snow cleared with you yet? I saw your town on the news!

Tink - how are you feeling? Hope you enjoy your Christmas in Hull and inlaws are well behaved
Glad you enjoyed the ball.

Star - DS at Christmas party sounds great! My Dad can't wait for O to get his first train set as he's got his own model railway. I think those Thomas sets are really good.

Big news here is that after moving DS into his own room on Saturday, Sunday night he slept from 8-5 and then last night did 7.45-3.45
Long may this continue!!!
Not sure if it's his own room, cot bumper in place now or lack of yoghurt (which he'd been loving but seemed to upset his stomach a bit). Whatever it is, I'm v grateful!

Still thick snow here but hoping it will thaw today. Still have my Christmas food shopping to do - I've got my parents and my DB & his GF coming for the day. Left it too late to get a slot at Tesco so I'll have to brave town either later today or tomorrow.

Also still got most of the presents to wrap!
Err... I'd better get on!

essenceofSES · 22/12/2009 09:35

Morning Cant!
I hate to be a spoilsport but I've really had enough of the snow now! Do you want some of ours?!!
I think most prams would be difficult to push in 3" snow unless the paths have been cleared a bit. I took DS out in the sling on Sunday and just took it slowly.

gingerbreadlatte · 22/12/2009 11:21

Hi there
Very quiet here

Enjoy Hull Tink- hope its better than you are expecting.

Star- party sounds like fun. Glad your DS enjoyed it so much

Cant- I'd go for sling. reckon pram will be too much like hard work. Just walk slowly

Ses- how is snow with you? seems the whole of south east and london went mad last night and there were solid jams on motorways and in c.london up to midnight last night. We seemed to miss it all by a few miles. Its actually only 0degrees today instead of minus 3 and so feels quite tropical!
Great news on O's sleeping. Long may it last.

Im actually having bed day. Spent all night shivering despite lots of duvets and today I feel oddly hot and cold. Dont think its flu but doesnt feel great.

Kayzr · 22/12/2009 12:28

No Ses we still have about a foot of snow. I am bloody sick of it. They have cleared the roads but just piled it at the kerb and it is about 3 feet deep. So crossing tr road is highly amusing especially when we have to take the pushchair out.

kookykid · 22/12/2009 20:09

Helloooo!

It's been so so long since I've been on but wanted to wish all of you and your lovely little ones a very happy christmas.

Joe is 3 and a half months now and doing well despite still being tube fed and having reflux. We now have a date in August for his palate repair operation.

Love Kooky x

essenceofSES · 22/12/2009 20:36

Kooky!!! Great to see you pop your head round the door of the wagon! Do it a bit more often though if you get chance!
Can't believe Joe is 3 and a half months now! Glad you've got a date for his op and sounds like he's doing well.

Tink - are you all packed and prepared? Hope all goes well.

Ginger - sorry to hear you're not feeling great. Hope you get well soon.
Snow still here although it did start to thaw today. Hoping it finally goes tomorrow as I've had enough!
DH took over 4hrs to get home yesterday on a journey tht normally takes 45mins.

Hi to anyone else lurking - hope you're well.

Moosy · 22/12/2009 21:31

Hello all, nice to see you kooky, hooray for the op date, do you have to wait until he's had it done before you can feed him normally?

for the snow, we've had no more than a few flakes.

Things aren't going too well here, I had a tummy bug last week and am really struggling with the feeding, she's still below her birth weight and has only gained 1oz in 10 days. MW's coming again in the morning to weigh her so really really hoping she's grown a bit as I'm SO determined not to have to give up bfing this time

tinkerbellstinkerbells · 22/12/2009 22:01

Hello Kooky, hope you are all well. I can't believe Joe is 3 and a half months. It seems to have gone so fast.

Moosy, I hope everything works out ok with you and Felicity. Will be thinking of you.

Tink, hope you have a good time at the in laws.

Just 3 hours at work tomorrow and then I am off for Christmas. Probably taking the boys to the Christmas carol service at the church on Christmas eve depending on the snow.

Hope everyone is well.

cantmummyhaveabreak · 23/12/2009 10:00

Moosy- have left a msg on your FB.... dont be of the snow- it's a frigin nightmare- spoilt DS's birthday- only one friend managed to turn up ...

Kooky- hello!!!!! Glad DS is doing well, and hurray for op date. Time does seem to have flown by!!

Kayz- enjoy your last day at work- even if it is only enjoying every last second that ticks by on the clock!! Have a lovely christmas... i was hoping to take the DC's to the xmas eve carol service round the crib but doubt i'd cope on my own.... DH is working and my family are 'busy' despite seeming interested the other day ....

Have a busy day- need to go to my parents on the bus to collect my camera so i have it for xmas morning. Also then need to get another bus to tesco to meet DH there after work and get our last bits of food shopping ready for xmas day and boxing day. Having a small gathering of family here on boxing day so doing a nice buffet lunch. Hoping to wash it down with some wii-ing and some board games and maybe some festive DVD's!!

Kayzr · 23/12/2009 10:10

It is bloody snowing again!!! Argh!!! Go away snow!!!

I feel dreadful. DS2 woke up at 6 and we put him in our bed am we all went back to sleep. When DS1 woke us up at 8 I felt awful. For some reason whenever I wake up and then go back to sleep I en up feeling really bad.

I wonder how Diege's move went.

Moosy · 23/12/2009 10:32

She's gained...............

TWO OUNCES!!!!!!!!!!!!

cantmummyhaveabreak · 23/12/2009 10:41

well done moosy!!

Kayzr · 23/12/2009 10:50

Moosy that is brilliant!!! So happy for you.

essenceofSES · 23/12/2009 10:57

Moosy - Well done both of you!

Still a blanket of snow/ice here and v foggy so not sure it will melt soon.

DH has gone to pick úp our turkey and then we're going to brave Tesco!

IWroteOffLightningMcQueen · 23/12/2009 12:41

Hello everyone, it has been v. quiet on here, though nice to hear from Kooky

Moosy, that is brilliant on the weight gain Very well done both of you

Tink, hope the visit isn't as bad as you were expecting

We've also had the snow, it seems to snow all night, rain/sleet/snow/hail on and off all day, and the lot of it is just frozen solid, don't think we've reached even 0 degrees once since middle of last week, we were coming home from Tescos the other night, out in the open countryside, it was -8.5! The bottom of our road is a small t-junction onto the main(-ish) road, it's slightly down hill, and it's a case of: put the brakes on, close your eyes, and hope nothing is coming because you can't stop, the car just slides out!

So is everyone ready for the big day? We still have loads of pressies to wrap, and then the usual putting together of certain things tomorrow night, this year we have a roller slide, a bike, a trike, a jumping giraffe, a laptop to set up, a tool bench thing and something else that I have forgotten!

DH's pressies are easy... can't wait for him to un-wrap me them Think we might wait till christmas night after the kid's have gone to bed for our pressies! Am a bit nervous though, have decided to do a full on striptease and lap-dance!!! I've got the feather boa and the clothes, underwear, stockings, music, man, just need to find the balls to do it! I don't want to be in a fit of giggles, I want to do it properly, I am so nervous!

Right, I have a house to get cleared up, have demanded that DH isn't home later than 5 tonight, so we'll get a good enough bash at the wrapping, it's M's bday on Sunday so we've got his bday pressie's to wrap as well, it's never bloody ending in December now!

Not sure if I'll be back again before christmas, so if not, hope you all have a lovely wonderful christmas - first christmas for most of the babies! Happy christmas everyone xxx

P.S. STT, don't know if you are about or lurking, but I got your text the other night, I can't reply though, my phone has given up the ghost and decided to not work at all in the house, it doesn't seem to have a problem with incoming calls/texts but just won't let me send them out, everytime I try to text/ring out on it, it just comes up saying service unavailable, or emergency calls only. And since we changed the ISP and the computer I don't have your email anymore Our email has changed as well, it's [email protected] (very similar to our old one, just with BT, instead of Sky!) - Open to everyone BTW!

Right I am deffo gone now, Happy christmas xxx

FollowingYonderSTAR · 24/12/2009 06:39

Christmas Eve - seems like everyone is busy getting into Christmas spirit. Well, have only 3 pressies left to wrap here. Setting off over to my Mum's this morning, but still have case of clothes to pack for us all - was just too tired to do it last night.

Moosy - well done on DD3's weight gain.

Ses - sounds like you're all organised for Christmas.

Kayz - sorry for feeling so rotten when you have disrupted early morning sleep, hope the boys sleep well over Christmas while you're off work.

Lightning - very brave - hope your pressie for your DH goes well .

Can't - sounds a very busy lead up to Christmas, hope you can now relax and enjoy.

Well, DD was back to one of her better sleeps last night - woke for nappy change and feed at 11.45pm and then awake for day at 5.30am. Not sure I'm going to get my requested sleep through the night for Christmas, but at least she's doing better than she was a couple of weeks ago

Hope snow does not stop people from getting to friends and family this Christmas. Have a fabby one!

essenceofSES · 24/12/2009 19:35

Just popping on to wish you all a very merry Christmas! We're just about ready here. DH has prepared the veg and we hung O's stocking on his bedroom door in preparation for Santa

Hope you all have a fab time and that Santa is good to you

Kayzr · 26/12/2009 15:56

Hello.

Hope you all had good days yesterday!!

essenceofSES · 26/12/2009 20:10

Hello!!!
Happy Boxing Day (what's left of it!) and hope everyone has had a good time enjoying the festivities

We've had a great time. O loved his christmas dinner. He ate a cheese straw and a couple of breadsticks as an appetiser and then a couple of chunks of melon for a starter. For main course, he had 3 parsnip chunks, one roast potato, 2 chunks of turkey, a brussel sprout, 3 chunks of carrot and 3 chipolatas! He then rounded it off with about a tablespoons worth of trifle and a couple of small spoonfuls of christmas pudding!
Can't believe he had enough space in his belly for that lot!

He did v v well and got v v spoilt as he was the only child amongst the 7 of us. His aunts & uncles in Ireland also spoilt him by sending over lots of presents!

Tink - saw your FB post. Hope DD2 not too sick and that your time with ILs is ok.

Kay - Hope DS2 gets those teeth through soon! We're still waiting on the top 2 here. I keep saying they'll be here anyday but they refuse to burst through!

Hope everyone else has had a great time
