tinkluvssnow · 13/01/2010 09:56

cant believe we have more snow 3 inches here and snowing heavily school open only from 10am and only if u can get in safely so staying here!!!

essenceofSES · 13/01/2010 12:12

Loads of snow again here too!
Hate to sound like a grumpy old woman but I've had enough of it!

On the plus side, best night we've had since before Christmas. O slept from 7.30pm til 2.15am. I then fed him and he slept from 3 til 6.15 DH then got up for work and brought O to me in bed and we had a nice cuddle and doze until 8.30!

Hope you're all ok and having good days

FollowingYonderSTAR · 13/01/2010 16:14

Hi All, not been on for a while - 1st week back at work. Well, am starting on 3 days per week, going to 4 in March. Has been a pretty easing in week though, as lots of people not in due to snow and those that are in wanting to catch up rather than have meetings with me about a new project. Have come home early today to avoid rush hour and work from home, only to find nursery have called as DD has temperature, so Mum has collected her and she's asleep now, but waiting for my work PC to boot up. Gives me a chance to jump on here while I wait.

More snow here today - work is in one of worst hit areas.

Ses - can totally empathise with the tears at night, but you're doing nothing wrong. O seems to be following a similar pattern to my DD - she went from 2 feeds a night to 1 feed a night and dare I whisper it, slept from 7.50pm to 6.20am last night !!!!!!!! Unfortunately, now she has a temperature, so may have been illness induced, but I'm clinging onto hope! He will get there and sounds like he made great steps forward last night.

MMM hope your DS is feeling better and you haven't come down with it.

Well done Kayz on weight loss. Work is not fun is it?

Tink - more shopping?!

Can't - ooh, DC4. Long range planning then?

Right, on with work.

maxxymoosmummy · 13/01/2010 20:53

Kayzr · 15/01/2010 01:57

Hello!!!!

Most Haunted Live was bloody amazing!!!! I got to meet Ciaran, which is something I have wanted to do for years now. I had my photo taken with him and a signed picture too. Also met Paul Ross who is so funny. I am now trying to get to sleep but I am too scared to turn the light off.

My God I miss DH and the boys so much. I think half of this not getting to sleep thing is not being with DH.

I hope everyone is well. I have got to go past that Wagoners hotel tomorrow so I am going to try and take a picture.

maxxymoosmummy · 15/01/2010 09:44

mornin everyone. been trying to find a new pushchair for max as im not liking the one i have now as its too small. (silver cross pop) i sold his big pram now wanting another bigger one than just a stroller. anyone got any ideas?

tinkluvssnow · 15/01/2010 09:50

morning

kay - glad u had a good time

max - sorry not sure

having a quiet day here today after a busy week!!!

tom going to town need helium balloons

maxxymoosmummy · 15/01/2010 09:58

no worries TINK. i just cant seem to make my mind up. i like the graco tour / mothercares own trenton deluxe. but then i also like i few others haha. just cant find one i really want.

GruffaloSoldier · 15/01/2010 13:42

Hi all,

MMM - why dont you post some links to the pushchairs I love shopping for pushchairs, I have a serious habit and recently sold 1 of mine to leave 3 (have only 1 child would only be happy to help. on impulse I would go with mothercare, as I always think Graco aren't as well made.

Tink - quiet sounds lush - I will swop you, you want GC for the day??

Kayz - sounds like you had a fab time, I like that prog but its on sky isnt it? so we dont get it but when I have watched it DH has been very although recently he had a ghosty experience at his work (an old manor house) but he still doesn't believe in ghosts! I grew up in a haunted house and had too many things happen not to believe!!

Star - glad the settling in to work has gone ok. Your DCs sound like they are taking it in their stride Hope DD is better!

CANT - LOL at DC4 planning! I have to admit, I am seriously broody at the moment - to the extent that I am secretly hoping I do not get a place on the doctorate I have applied for

well GC is 9 months today! when DH turned 9 months he learned to walk unassisted that very day so I am keeping an eye on GC! He has been pulling himself up, walking round using furniture, climbing stairs etc since a week before turning 7 months so I am thinking he might be early, which will be nice but at the same time I want him to stay a baby for that bit longer I walked about 11 months so hopefully I may still have a couple of months before Im really running around after him!

I have had migraines all week, and just starting to feel better today. I will be glad when DH is home!

Hope everyone else is well, hello to anyone Ive missed!!

essenceofSES · 15/01/2010 20:47

Hi!

MMM - I'm not really a buggy expert. Just have my Britax Vigour which has worked fine so far. Do post some links though as Gruff suggests - always interesting to take a nose

Gruff - good to hear from you. Sorry for the migraines. Sounds like GC will be walking before long and

Kay - glad you had a good time and got to meet the man himself

Tink - your day sounds good. Are balloons for DD2's 1st birthday?

Star - sounds like your return to work has gone as well as it could. Hope you don't feel too drained. Thanks for reassurance about O's sleeping. Thankfully he's now done 3 nights where he's only woken once between 7.30pm and 5am. Hoping this continues...

Hello anyone else lurking - Cant, Diege, Bumps, BB, Ginger....

Tomorrow we're off to look at some puppies. Lucy has been seeming lonely in the week since Jessie went and it would make sense to get a new puppy before I return to work.

Talking of which, I had a meeting today with work about going back. I'm going to (reluctantly) try my old role over 4 days. I've got holiday still to take so my official return is 15th Feb (my birthday!) but I won't actually be back in the business until Thurs 25th Feb. DH has agreed we can get a cleaner to help out and maybe do the ironing too. Anyone any bright ideas on how to find one?

tinkluvssnow · 16/01/2010 15:42

wow 9 mnths gruff

dd2 is 1 on tuesday

yes balloons are for dd2s bday got the girls a helium hello kitty one each

maxxymoosmummy · 16/01/2010 16:44

hi everyone. sorry decided on getting the trenton deluxe i think. just the mothercare own. its nothing special. just wanted a bigger one for the colder weather as only got a stroller at the min, and DS gets blue all the time. so just wanna make sure hes warmer than he is in the one he got.
been shopping to day, got the rest of the things for DSs birthday next sunday. all i need now is a cake and food any ideas of where to get a good cake for a boys first birthday?

essenceofSES · 16/01/2010 21:46

Well we went to look at some cocker spaniel puppies today and came back with one! She's nearly 13wks old and we've called her Megan. Photos on FB. Lucy seems excited at the prospect of company but also is making it clear that this is her territory and we are her owners! They'll settle down soon.
She's v cute and already coming when we call her but no attempt has been made with toilet training yet

MMM - sorry I'm useless again but you could try large supermarket or bakers for a cake?

tink - wow! Where has that year gone?!

Great that we're starting to celebrate lots of 1st birthdays now.

maxxymoosmummy · 16/01/2010 22:01

awww wow for the puppy SES. would have thought by 13 week should hae been trained. at least you can train it to how u want her to be this wy though so maybe for you its a good thing. hope lucy gets on well with her. and isnt too protectie of her territory. thanks on the cake. ive looked in my local asda but there arent really any for 1st birthday theme if you get me. so think going to take a trip to the big tesco and hopefully they have more choice.

Kayzr · 16/01/2010 22:22

Just to let everyone know that DH has a new job!!! Having a real problem with childcare though so I might be handing in my notice on Monday. We worked out that 3/4 of my wages will go on childcare so it doesn't seem worth me working.

Ses, that is fab about the puppy. How cute!!!

maxxymoosmummy · 16/01/2010 22:33

congrats to your DH on the new job KAYZ good or bad thing about u handing in ya notice?

essenceofSES · 16/01/2010 22:35

Wow Kay, that's fantastic news!!!! What is the job? Doesn't make sense to spend (nearly) all you earn on childcare unless you really want to work.

Thanks for comments on puppy. She's starting to settle and get more playful.

I'm off to bed now to try and finish Harry Potter and then hoping for another good nights sleep. G'night!

tinkluvssnow · 17/01/2010 09:03

morning

kay - great news

ses - ahh for puppy

max - glad u got buggy sorted

well just popping on before i start hoovering and putting up decs for party parents here from 11am

cantmummyhaveabreak · 17/01/2010 09:19

hi- keep typing a message then having to do somethign else and turning the pc off before i've even posted!!

We're having a funny old time right now, thinking of selling the house, using the equity to pay off all our debts and then renting for a few years. Then the plan is for DH to be working at head office within 5 years (as per our 5 year plan) so we are then free to move as and when a job came up there really. Then rent for a year or so while we're over there before getting a mortgage over there so we know better about which area's are good to live etc.

Quite exciting and also means we dont have to do up this house. But also a tad sad as it was DH's nanny's house, and DD1 was born here... but i hate everything about it!!

cantmummyhaveabreak · 17/01/2010 09:23

Oh any of you ladies with little girlies... Ruby is finally going into 6-9 clothing!!! so i have about a bin liner full of sleepsuits/dresses etc... anyone interested?

GruffaloSoldier · 17/01/2010 10:58

Hi everyone,

Great news about the puppy Ses! Hope she is settling in nicely

Kayz - excellent about the job. you aren't happy in your job, are you? so it sounds like it was meant to be

Tink - hope the party goes well.

Cant - house plans sound good.

I am quite excited as GC has walked 4 times unassisted. Only 2 steps at a time at the moment but he seems very determined, although this was yesterday (age 9m +1day)and he is yet to do it today

Hope everyone enjoys their Sunday

Kayzr · 17/01/2010 11:17

Morning,

Ses, it is the same job he was laid off from. But they have loads and loads of work so it is brilliant.

I will be handing in my notice tomorrow. I just cant see the point of working if most of my wages are going on childcare, we wont have any extra money.

I am so excited about becoming a SAHM.
