Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
mumbot · 17/12/2009 22:26

On the first day of pregg-mass, my body gave to mee...

10 silvery stretch marks
9 banging headaches
8 varicose veins
7 cravings a day
6 cupsizes bigger
5 haemorrhoid riiings!
4 mood swings
3 big pants
2 puffy ankles

...and a cute, lovely baayyybeee!!

siamesecatwoman · 17/12/2009 23:15

hi
can you tell I have tomorrow off, up at 11pm! Well I never..
Annamama my 4d scan is booked for wednesday evening - fingers crossed this time for legs uncrossed..

How sweet and cute do EmLous DS and DB's DD sound? Feel like I need to borrow one to get some festive spirit in me (in lieu of actually spirits..)

Afribaby mmmm Namibia! So jealous, hope it goes well!

My maternity leave starts on 15 Jan - Ive just 12 working days..(and 3 massive projects to finish, but lets forget that..)

Db Im also secretly from Norfolk (well, my parents moved there when I was 16 - and I moved out at 18!!) Just had a look back at an early thread and I think you are from near where my first 'true love' lived.. Sutton near Stalham.. (shivers when thinks of how life could've turned out..)

Snowing pretty hard here - Arcadie are you snowed in yet?

siamesecatwoman · 17/12/2009 23:21

mumbot very tuneful!
ewwwww 5 haemorrhoid riiings!

forgot to mention pixie that your daughter's comment made me remember taking my little sister to the off licence when i was 17 and getting her to call me 'mummy' so Id get served.. (it worked)

And the irony is, is that I was asked for ID in the Coop recently for a small bottle of cider I was cooking with, with my clearly pregnant bump!! So now I look like a knocked up 17 year old??

Sariska · 18/12/2009 06:49

Oooohh, snow! Now, what will those trains be like????

annamama · 18/12/2009 09:40

Mumbot - very poetic you are!

Siamese - I can't believe they asked you for ID, I guess that's a compliment really! Bet you're excited about your scan, I'm sure this time the baby won't be able to hide its modesty.

We finally have snow here in Kent too but only a little bit. DD's first time ever playing in snow, it was nice to see.

OP posts:
designerbaby · 18/12/2009 09:52

Siamese - that's so scary... I'm originally from Catfield - which is the next village along the main road from Sutton... Eeek. I probably know your ex-first-love. In fact, we're probably related. No, really...

Right have Sooo much work to do today - must NOT get sucked into MN instead.

Oh, just one other piece of good news - second day of Santa-related activities at nursery, and this time he brought "chock-lit" so of course DD is now over her Favver Cwismass trauma, it seems. She's now telling everyone on the bus how he goes "ho ho ho".

But has made it very clear that he's still NOT allowed in her room.

Sensible girl.

I can't bloody stop coughing - I sleep I can't function. GP aboslutely no help.

Pissing myself eery time I cough as well:

I... have... had... enough!

evitas · 18/12/2009 12:52

SnowballProofMum - oh... poor you! Try to slice some carrots, add sugar and then drink the juice. Besides being tasty it usually helps me (with onions is also effective but less tasty)
Good luck!

Jobaker · 18/12/2009 13:18

Hi everyone - I'm new! I think I might have posted in your old thread - so just saying 'Hi' again.

I am due March 18th with a baby girl - I'm so excited!

I live in North London, and am hoping to find some lovely ladies, bumps and babies for us to be friends with!

Any other North Londoners out there? x

snowflakesarahandco · 18/12/2009 16:20

Hi Jobaker and welcome to the thread congrats on the news of your baby girl!!!

Snowballproofmum, get well soon, hope your cough eases for you asap xxxx TC

Mumbot- fab poem!!!!!!!

Shroomer · 18/12/2009 16:44

A Christmas song, or two, for you all:

God rest ye merry gentlemen
Let nothing you dismay
Cos you did bugger all it seems
Than give us all a lay.
Now we are all knocked up with sprogs
And we go through the pain.
O tidings of comfort and joy,
Comfort and joy
O tidings of comfort and joy.

And another:

Deck the halls with boughs of holly,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Seeing our feet's an act of folly,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.

We've got piles, and constipation,
Fa la la, la la la, la la la.
Arses look like aberrations,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.

ArcadieAngelGabriel · 18/12/2009 17:57

Nice Shroomer. Nice.

ArcadieAngelGabriel · 18/12/2009 18:03

Love it.

We have snow. Lots of it.

snowflakesarahandco · 18/12/2009 19:43

LOVE IT SHROOMER!!!!!!!

"30 weeks today oh 30 weeks today oh ah my little one is 30 weeks today"

PacificMistletoeandnoWine · 18/12/2009 21:54

Hello, all, just checking in.

Read all your posts, but do not have brain power or nervous energy to reply. RL is hard going still.

Best wishes to all of you and your LOs who do not feel well. HUGE sympathies to the failing pelvic floor

Love your seasonal names !

My mum and dad have arrived for the holidays just in time for DS3's latest D+V : it is hard to believe that somebody that little can be that full of sh*; it just keeps coming inspite of him not eating for days, gah!!

I had my nearest near-miss this morning when some w*anker jumped a red light (having stopped!) and I almost went into his side. I was so angry and needed a little sob by the time I went to work.

Anyway, early night for me. Have a good weekend and don't skid too much in the snow .

JasHook · 19/12/2009 10:25

Hehe Shroomer I nearly snorted tea all over my keyboard...

Big hugs to Snowballproof and much internet cough remedies sent to you. (Disclaimer: all virtual internet cough remedies delivered wirelessly into your throat via modem are of course safe in pregnancy)

Pacific It's amazing how much that sort of thing shakes you up, isn't it? Someone running a red light just clipped my coat last year and I spent the rest of the day thinking about the "what-ifs". Nasty.

Well, the snow has successfully b*ggered up my proposed Christmas trip. I have no snow here at home, but where I was planning to go is apparently a winter wonderland of which Santa would be proud, so in the interests of not getting a 7-month-pregnant woman trapped in a snowdrift on a motorway for hours I am staying put. Rats.

MandaHugNKiss · 19/12/2009 10:53

Hello jobaker congrats on your little girl! I'm afraid I'm south of the river but I believe we have at least one northerner (although she's defecting soon! )

Ah, defecting - just one letter away from defecating. Do so hope DS is on the mend and the copious amount of crap your boy is producing is abating. Infact your whole post made me want to break out an un-MN hugs for you

And if anyone else sounds like they really need a hug (or tena lady pants) right now it's poor BPM. There must be something that's gonna help. What kind of cough is it? Dry or productive? Maybe steam would help either way? Meanwhile, try and boost your natural (repressed - d'oh!) immunity with vit c/zinc.

db, DD is so cute! And smart! Of course she should be afraid of a strange man (beard notwithstanding) who wants to come into her room at night... but if he's gonna give her chock lit under the watchful eyes of a room full of people that would be foolish to refuse! Maybe she gets to 'know' Santa a little more - watch some lovely/sweet cartoons/films that feature him (and so show his nature) as he's probably just some abstract beardy man right now. I can't really think of anything off the top of my head but in my minds eye I'm seeing Raymond Brigg's santa... is there an animation with him in?

MandaHugNKiss · 19/12/2009 10:56

Um, the wish for less defacation and was for pacific - I'm half asleep...

Also, jas that's a shame, but really really the most sensible course of action right now. Maybe you can change your plans early next week if the weather lets up?

scooby26 · 19/12/2009 12:19

Does anyone know an ironing fairy that santa can send me?

designerbaby · 19/12/2009 12:50

HI JO amd welcome - yes I'm a North Londoner, but only for another month or so, and then I am [whispers]... moving south.

Keep it quiet though won't you - I'm anxious about lynch mobs if the North London Massive find out...

Still, it's not sooo far to Wimbledon...

Cough remedies - can REALLY recommend a humidifier in your room - maybe with some Olbas or somthings added to the water. DD sufferes from a persistent cough, and it's the only thing which helps ? and I've found it's just as good for grown ups.

Pacific - I feel your pain, and hoe you manage to keep your head above water these coming weeks.

KBO (Keep Buggering On) is my motto in such times (© Churchill).

So KBO KBO KBO...

Enjoyed muchly all Festive pregnancy ditties... keep 'em coming - I could do with a laugh!

Have sent DH out to finally buy a Christmas tree - MUST start getting festive at designerbabyvillas - if only for DDs sake...

Goodness knows where we're going to put it though...

Got to work today - producing the church Spring term card... Boo hiss. Not feeling very spritual about it TBH.

designerbaby · 19/12/2009 12:51

Soo many typos...

I give up. Standards have completely gone out of the window - along with typing and proof reading ability. And what was left of my pelvic floor.

Hey ho ho ho.

LuckySalem · 19/12/2009 18:10

Does anyone mind if I join in?

I'm due on March 18th (lost track of how many weeks I am! lol)
Have 1 DD who will be 2 in Jan.

Feeling REALLY pregnant this time which I think is partly down to the weight I've lost since becoming pregnant and getting a puppy so i'm more rounded this time.

Anyways.... Hi, I'm REALLY looking forward to getting to know you all.
