inzidoodle - will be thinking of you on Saturday, I think the crackers idea is a good one, it should help. Take care of yourself.

Well I did a conception indicator test today, and it says 2-3 which means 4-5 weeks pg, so it is right where I should be. I just want it to continue now.

I am feeling a bit picky over food now, certain foods are not appealing to me..... worst is chocolate - arggggg! I went off chocolate on one of my previous pregnancies, I need to look up which one to see if this is boy or girl for me

tummytickler · 06/01/2010 07:40

Morning all!
Don't know how long I will be around I have brownish spotting - i know brown is supposed to be OK, but am worried still, so a bit scared to be too optimistic, especially as I am not feeling sick really yet - just really tired!
anyone else got or had spotting in the past - was it ok?
rainbow - I am a bit picky with food too - again, dont know if a symptom or just me . I am mad over meat and apples!

Swordfishtrombones · 06/01/2010 08:53

Hello Ladies

I'd like to join you if I may? I've namechanged as I don't want to tell anyone in real life just yet!

I already have DD1 who is 4 and DD2 who is nearly 3, and due with No 3 on 2/9/10 (along with lots of you by the looks of things!

It was a complete shock to be honest - we weren't planning a third at all - and I feel very guilty already about the alcohol I had over Christmas. Luckily I tested on the 29th before New Year's Eve. Fortunately (I think!) I am beginning to feel sick and therefore booze is out altogether.

tummytickler - I hope everything is ok. I think spotting is quite usual. With DD2 I had a huge amount of bleeding at about 13 weeks and thought I'd lost her, and then red bleeding every day until the third trimester, and she is fine. There are no rules about it. Try and take it easy. Is this your fifth? Wow! I am a fifth child and I've not come across that many. If you have any tips about the transition from 2 to 3 they'd be much appreciated!

Wow, loads more people since I last looked!! Welcome and congratulations to everyone.

Tummytickler - I had spotting for the first 12 weeks with my last pregnancy (some brown & some fresh blood) and had early scan but they never found anything and he was a healthy baby! Hope it is all ok. x

I'd forgotten how tired you feel at the beginning but as we are snowed in today and kids school closed I'm going to have a very lazy day.....

Stickhasgrownup · 06/01/2010 11:12

Well I've trudged to school and nursery in my wellies! Bit worried about slipping over as the pavements get icy... I seem to be far more worried with this pregnancy and DC2, then I was the first time around! I suppose number 1 was a bit surreal!

Tummytickler - I hope all is ok... brown blood seems to be generally more common and not so bad. I had what I think was implantation bleeding with this one - about 4 days of blood here and there - didn't have it with previous children, so worried me hugely... hoping for early scan, but not seen GP yet.

Swordfishtrombones - Its funny isn't it, the 2nd does seem to be the most popular due date at the moment. Is it because conception was a friday night !!!

LilyPad72 · 06/01/2010 13:40

Slightly surreal question - does anyone else ever have just one sore boob?

And - does walking around protecting it make me look as much like Les Dawson as I feel?

What do you think?

Hopefully · 06/01/2010 16:40

Hello! Will tentatively join you - am only 4 weeks, so super-early days still, but hey, no harm in a bit of optimism?

BTW, for those who were on September conception bus, I was Redbug on there - name changed so as not to alert my couple of RL friends who use MN that we were TTC - have told the closest one about BFP and the others can find out if they want to!

Due date is 13th Sept, but am having CS so will prob be a bit earlier - will stick with 13th for now though. Will add myself to list in a sec.

Already have DS, 15 months, who is gorgeous and lovely, but was a colicky, screaming, unhappy, wind-ridden newborn, so I'm already dreading that phase! Have regularly commented that if I could ping another one year old into being, I would, happily

inzidoodle here's hoping for some of those mythical sleeping babies this time.

I gained just over 3 stone with DS, and have lost it all plus a couple of pounds (was slightly overweight when I conceived, so I'm happy with that!), and am determined not to gain so much this time. I am so much more active than I was working full time that I can't believe I will, although I've already got a bigger appetite! [fat pig emoticon]

CakeandFineWine · 06/01/2010 21:05

Hi all
Inzidoodle hope th funeral is OK

Welcome Newbies [waving]

Tummytickler I have everything crossed for you, spotting/bleeding can happen and not be anything sinister so here's hoping!!

Lilypad my boobs alternate between soreness?!

So when I checked in at my GP yest saw a friend on list of BFP whose been TTC for 14 months so told her I know today bu se was cool about it and there's only 2 1/2 weeks between us so I have a real life secret pg buddy YEAH!!
Hope eveyone else is ok xx

babyshoes · 06/01/2010 22:10

Hi everyone, sorry i dropped off for a while just due to xmas etc but back now. Hi to all the newbies - wow, the list has really grown.... Really sorry to hear about your grandad Inzidoodle, please don't worry about baby, i had a terrible time when pregnant with DS1 and he was perfectly healthy and is a lovely boy.
Saw the doc yesterday, all seems ok and was given the swine flu jab 10 minutes later! I'm hoping to get a scan at 10 weeks due to MC last year but at the moment everything feels normal - really sore boobs, waking in the middle of the night and being wide awake and very swollen tum (also, same spicy food craving i had at the beginning when pregnant with DS1)! Best bit is it's my 40th birthday saturday and i'm having a big party - had to buy some spanx yesterday to suck tummy in and tell a couple of girlfriends so them and DH can do my bar run for my pretend gin/vodka/anything with tonics..

Hello ladies, I was on the sept 09 thread, I now have a beautiful baby girl born sept 14th and she is nearly 4 months old. I just popped in coz I wanted to say congratulations to you all, I hope you all have happy, healthy, beautiful pregnacies.
I know what your all feeling, the worries and paranoia and its so strange to think I was the same this time last year, i sure you will all be fine, and good luck to you all!

xxxx

eggonlegs · 07/01/2010 08:56

Hi all

amazed at some of the weight loss stories - well done to you all. If you've done it once then at least you know you can do it again (if necessary).

I'm sure grief can only make you appreciate your new baby more Inzidoodle but sorry you having to go through it.

Tummytickler - fingers crossed, so many odd things can happen in these first few weeks and often have no sinister meanings at all so try and keep positive.

ooopsididitagain · 07/01/2010 09:23

Can you add me please,12 sept - i think! This will be no.5! Unplanned so in shock a bit but very happy about it. Oh,have changed name as haven't told anybody yet although i think people will be guessing soon. Thank god we've just had christmas - can blame too many minced pies for a while!

Hopefully · 07/01/2010 09:34

Oops I've added you and put myself back on the bottom of the list - I fell off somewhere! Can't imagine having five - am slightly panicking about coping with two!

It reaches a point where it doesn't make much difference really! My youngest will start scool next jan and the biggest 2 are big enough to be fairly self sufficient. Will be fine

Stickhasgrownup · 07/01/2010 12:22

Hi all,

How is everyone feeling today?

I wouldn't say I felt sick as yet, but I certainly have to keep up with meals and snacks or I do start to feel a bit yuk! Problem is this is how I put on all the weight in my last to pregs! Ho hum... what will be, will be.

babyshoes · 07/01/2010 12:26

oh dear, just ate huge pack of mango, bacon sandwich some grapes and 2 chocolate covered flapjack minis .... now going for birthday lunch with work but at least i can blame swollen tummy on being just plain greedy!
Well done to all you ladies who lost loads of weight, it takes an awful lot of willpower...something i cleary don't have

Swordfishtrombones · 07/01/2010 13:25

Hello - I'm definitely starting to feel low-level sickness for most of the day. I had quite bad morning sickness with DD1 and DD2 but hopefully it will clear up by 14wks as it did before.... I definitely feel better when I eat though.

babyshoes - that's just mean to mention flapjacks mmmmmm!

Congratulations oopsididitagain! Another number 5 baby! I am number 5 of 6 but we were quite well spaced out. Have you got a big age gap between DC1 and this one?

foxyjbro99 · 07/01/2010 17:47

I'm feeling very tired and very sickly
I think this is the start of it, went between 12 & 14 weeks with the other two, so 6 more weeks to go!!
Constantly eating to try and ease the sickness, gonna be the size of a house

Hopefully · 07/01/2010 18:06

Luckily have not had any sickness yet, but since I am only four and a bit weeks, I wouldn't expect any. Fingers crossed it will be relatively mild like last time though.

I am happy to eat if it stops the sickness, but am determined not to get into that 'I'm pregnant, I can eat what I like' mindset. I totally had it last time and I can hardly bear to look at photos of me when I was heavily pregnant/newly postnatal. Just gross. Being much more active this time will hopefully help a bit.
