Sorry to hear about your dad, MammyG. xx

coppertop · 21/02/2010 14:06

x-posts there!

I'm still feeling to sick to eat much so I'm okay with jeans. However, my vastly increased norkage and bump means that my tops are feeling the strain somewhat.

Monstermuncher · 21/02/2010 15:31

Mammy G sorry to hear about your dad.

I haven't got a proper bump but my usual tummy rolls seem to have shifted up a bit and my jeans are now a no-go area. My boobs are big anyway but they are mahoosive now and I just look like a big old blob, not pregnant. Oh and this week I have broken out in spots too, joy. Sorry to moan, I have my scan on Weds and am really nervous which means I am being grumpy with everyone, esp DH :-(

Hope everyone is doing OK

OhFuck · 21/02/2010 17:10

I look like I'm 6 months gone - I'm a bit of a heifer anyway, and my abdominal muscles are kaput since having DS, and pregnancy gives me the most horrendous trapped wind. I am sure people must think "FFS just come clean love, it's obvious you're due any minute!"

coppertop · 21/02/2010 18:00

OhFuck - I could've written your post word for word.

Good luck with the scan, Monstermuncher.

JodeyLea · 21/02/2010 18:59

Hi Ladies. It's been a good week or so since I last posted!

Skatergrrrrl, I am so sorry for your loss and MammyG, my thoughts are with you.

Just got back from a school trip to New York It was amazing, but I don't know how I coped with all the walking, jet lag and tiredness of being pg. It was difficult as 3 out of the 5 members of staff (including me) have no idea I'm up the duff as It's just too early to tell them until my scan (which is next Monday - yay). I was constantly snacking to keep the nausea at bay, though I think all the walking did wonders for it.
Now I'm back, still jet lagged as flew through the night and I'm straight back at school tomorrow!!!!

In the case of Twins, there is no history of it in my family but a fortune teller told my mom many years ago that ne of her daughters would twins. My sister has a DS so there is something in the back of mind saying maybe it's me? But I know it is highly unlikely. I'll find out next Monday and let you all know.

I too am very worried about the scan. I keep getting the odd little pains in my tummy which instantly raises concern. I'm hoping they are just growing pains!!! As for Jeans, I'm still wearing mine but they are becoming tighter and more uncomfortable. Its horrid as we haven't yet got our bumps to show off, so for me at the mo, i just look like I've gained half a stone. Oh, And read a book saying i should have put on around 2.5 pounds - Ha ha ha, they are having laugh! I can double that at the least! Too scared to go on the scales after pancake breakfasts in NYC - OOoopps.

Oh well, I have 15 more year 9 reports to write for tomorrow 9am and then i think I'll hit the sack for an early night and try and get over this Jet Lag.

Hope you are all fine and dandy x x x x x

comixminx · 21/02/2010 19:02

Monstermuncher I have also broken out in spots! Most annoying - was hoping that no periods would = no spotty periods either! My trousers are feeling tightish but still ok for now.

MammyG · 21/02/2010 23:36

Thanks everyone - you really are a source of comfort. Esp as wider world does not know Im pregnant.
Swordfish - thanks a mil will def get something. Want him to feel he can just talk it out. Was away at another family funeral this weekend and picked up a doctors kit for both boys on the way home. DS1 is really letting some things out since he got his. Has been incredible to see his little mind processing things and helping him to name his feelings.
Am just totally exhausted but not able to relax or sleep! Think tue is just hanging over me. Have already told DH he is travelling with me (Doc almost 2 hrs away) just in case. And warned him either way there will probably be major melt down on tue evening. Even if all is well (fingers crossed) relief will prob cause floodgates to open. Im a real bottle up, organise, get thru crisis, then out of the blue collapse into wailing heap type.
On a brighter note my SIL told me today she is due 2 weeks after me! She is totally taken by surprise but all going well we will have 2 lovely new additions in the autumn.
Thanks again everyone.

Swordfishtrombones · 22/02/2010 10:18

MammyG - what lovely news about your SIL! That's great. Does she know you are pg? I'm sure tomorrow will go well, and if you want to let all your emotions out then go ahead! It'll do you a lot of good I think -sometimes a good wailing session is what you need.

I have one pair of jeans that fit as they are quite low on the waist. Unfortunately they are in the wash and I've had to resort to some leggings as nothing else fits. I'm not really ready for maternity wear so I think I might have to get myself to Primarni to get some cheap stretchy things to keep me going. I'm just about normal size in the morning but my belly expands to look about 6 months pregnant by the evening

CathN · 22/02/2010 11:47

Hi All,

Had my booking in appointment on Saturday, very bright and early in the morning. It was nice to finally have an appointment to go to. Got so many leaflets/papers to read though. Some interesting, but lots just seem to be a load of junk/advertising! Blood tests on Thurs and then scan the following Friday so can't wait for that.

Yep, my trousers are definitely too tight now. Used to be size 10 and now it's a big squeeze to do them up so I've been going round with top button undone for last week or so (covered up with a top obviously!). Can't quite bring myself to buy any maternity clothes though because I don't look pregnant at all! Waist has probably just gone from size 10 to size 12.

Was a bit embarrassed at the booking in appointment because couldn't pee in the pot ! Had gone to the loo just before leaving home (was bursting!) and then there was nothing left when got to the hospital. MW didn't seem too concerned though and I guess I can just provide one next time.

Hope everyone has a good week. I have exams next week so am off work this week to prepare. Think I will be mostly resting though cos have been exhausted recently. Slept for 12 hours last night. Am hoping I have more energy for the exams next week. Can't believe what some of you have been up to - I can barely make it up the stairs without needing to sit down again!

bananastew · 22/02/2010 16:58

Hi all, Have been away for the weekend with family. Had a really nice relaxing (not) time at centre parcs.

MammyG what awful news. My thoughts are with you and your family. Good look for tomorrow.

I've got a definate bump here. I'm skinny anyway but already look like i did when i was 5 months pregnant with ds!!! Still managing normal clothes tho but am starting to have to undo the button on my trousers when I sit down!! My mum bought some newborn babygrows! they're so tiny. As long as ds tops! Its crazy to think that in 6months a little person will be wearing it!

As for spots mine are definately here but as with ds I get them on my chest and back. not on my face!

So, who's going to find out the sex?? We found out last time but didn't tell anyone. I'd love to do that again but don't think we'll be able to!

CathN · 22/02/2010 17:18

Bananastew I don't think we will find out the sex. Would like to have a surprise at the end. And if we did, I agree it would be v hard not to tell anyone else (which I wouldn't want to do).

My office mate had a baby about a month ago (well, his wife did). They decided to find out the sex and not tell anyone. But he'd been talking to me about 'him' for a while without realising (I was trying to pretend he was saying 'it' all the time) but then suddenly the penny dropped and he was like "oh fuck". Was quite amusing. I think I was the only person he let it slip to though. I guess he was more vigilant after that.

rainbowdays · 22/02/2010 21:04

sorry just removing myself from the list, having seen the heartbeating away two weeks ago, it has now stopped. I have started bleeding so it will hopefully be over soon.

I wish you all the best with your pregnancies.

Rainbowdays, so sorry to hear your news. Look after yourself. x x

Love2Dance · 22/02/2010 23:02

Sorry to hear the news Rainbowdays. Please take care.

Now in Norwich for intense time working away from home. My snr colleague is lovely. Knows I'm pregnant but has never been preggers and likes to talk and work late so I was backing out the door tonight after dinner(we are in self-catering rooms in same building). My turn to cook tomorrow night...Give me strength...How am I going to make it an early night?!

I like the city but am missing my DS and DH. They are coming to see me at the weekend which is something to look forward to. Off to make cocoa and then to bed.

Getting fatter by the day and am putting on weight more quickly than last time. Hunger seems to strike every 3 hours but my job/working day is not conducive to small meals every 3 hours! Sigh...

comixminx · 23/02/2010 07:55

Very sorry for your news, Rainbowdays. How horrid when you'd heard the heartbeat earlier. Take care.

bellabelly · 23/02/2010 08:33

Sorry Rainbowdays, how sad. Life is so unfair sometimes.

I am sooooo tired this morning - my boys were a real pain about bedtime last night (they've been in "big boy beds" since last weekend - I ended up sticking them back in their old cots around 11pm!) and I'm back at work today... Not sure I'll be able to keep my eyes open.

Not feeling so sick any more but can't just relax and enjoy it, I keep wondering if something's wrong. 2 weeks to wait until my first scan - feels like it might as well be 2 months.

So sorry to hear your news rainbowdays. I hope you have lots of love and support around you now.

It seems that lots of us are feeling totally exhausted at the moment. Just wondering if anyone has come through that stage yet and has more energy again? If so, which week did that happen for you?

I am hoping (probably somewhat optimistically) that I will be bursting with energy again by next Monday (or at least not feeling totally exhausted!), but right now that feels like an impossible dream!

Swordfishtrombones · 23/02/2010 11:25

So sorry Rainbowdays xx

Monstermuncher · 23/02/2010 11:28

Oh Rainbowdays I am so sorry, like the others have said I hope you are being well looked after and supported.

CathN - I too am waiting to turn a corner and have some energy again. I'd settle for just feeling normal TBH. I can't remember when it happened last time around but just now I look rubbish and feel rubbish apart from my nails which are really strong and fab in pregnancy.
