Last chance for a Scorpio, after this weekend they'll all be Sagittarians!

Thanks thesecondcoming!

My DH usually works from home but goes to meetings as well. Still not sure how I'd approach that one if he's out...

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 24/11/2009 16:35

I could do with calling DH and asking him if he and DD plan to be home for tea...but I am afraid it will make him go when I phone!

longwayaway · 24/11/2009 16:40

That's the problem, isn't it, Pav - these days no matter WHO I call they think I've got news

OP posts:
skorpion · 24/11/2009 16:42

Yes, you don't want to get them all jumpy and panicked. Mine started to look at me funny every time I go ouch when being kicked from the inside

Laugs · 24/11/2009 16:45

Wow, I go out for a few hours and it all happens!

Hobnob we have been trying not to jinx you out of labour! Welcome to baby Isla and fantastic that you got the VBAC you so wanted.

Tabbykat Brilliant news about the arrival of baby Esme and I'm so pleased you're all doing well.

Katster Keep us posted, this is getting very exciting! I am here to do the laptop belly dance if any fancies joining in

Laugs · 24/11/2009 16:49

Claire I think I've had the same. With DD I had one definite show that was really unmistakeable. But this weekend I had two mucusy gloopy things that could have been a bit of the plug or could have just been mucusy gloop. It's all a good sign though I think.

skorpion · 24/11/2009 16:50

Count me in, laugs!!

longwayaway · 24/11/2009 16:51

I'll be hula-hooping along on my exercise ball!

OP posts:
Laugs · 24/11/2009 16:59

longway my 'belly dance' is really a hula hoop action on the exercise ball. I don't know how to belly dance. I reckon that's close enough to the real thing though

katster37 · 24/11/2009 17:01

DH still not back!! Although he has just phoned to say he has been to the hospital and picked up a TENs machine. They didn't have any left, and the lady asked when I was due. He said 'well, she's in labour now', and the lady scuttled off and found one, making him promise eh would only give it back to her, and not tell anyone! Aaaaw. Bit worried that the bit in between the contractions really isn't bad at all, it almost totally goes off. The contraction hurts a lot but the bit in between is fine Is that normal??

Oh, and i don't recall losing any plug either...

skorpion · 24/11/2009 17:06

No experience myself but sounds normal to me - that's what my MW said: contractions hurt, but once one is over you can forget about it and rest.

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 24/11/2009 17:06

katster I don't ever recall losing my plug last time either! And some people don't lose it til their waters break, which for some people can be just before they deliver. And, its normal to be feeling fine when there are no contractions...

Keeping fingers crossed for you still xx

skorpion · 24/11/2009 17:08

I mean forget about that contraction that just finished, not the whole process. Don't mean to trivialise here

And good score to DH on the TENS machine.

longwayaway · 24/11/2009 17:13

Well, Laugs, I'm sorry to be disillusioned but this being the internet I'm going to go ahead and imagine a parade of belly-dancing pregnant women anyway!

Like skorpion, no experience here, but that all sounds normal to me, katster! Hope your DH gets home soon.

Laugs · 24/11/2009 17:27

Oh, I do get out my tassled bra and silk scarves, if that helps?

longwayaway · 24/11/2009 17:40

Definitely And I'm balancing a sword on my head

congratulations Hobnob!

tasjaSAmuminSA · 24/11/2009 17:57

Hi there

Just wanted to let you know that my DS, Johandré, was born on the 19th of Nov. Weight 2.74kg and 50cm long. Everything went very well. Will tell you everything later this week. My mom is visiting now, washing dishes at this moment so quickly went on MN. She is leaving again tomorrow so will catch up during the week, will see how it goes with 2 DC.

Congrats to all the new mommies and babies!

misssese · 24/11/2009 18:00

hobnob im so happy for you! we both got the births we wanted so our positive mental attitude must have worked!!
GO katster you will have your baby in your arms in no time those exercises sound really good!

BeckyBendyLegs · 24/11/2009 18:05

Katster the bits inbetween should feel totally painfree! I used those bits to shut my eyes and conserve my energy. It does feel weird though feeling fine pain fine pain fine pain, etc. Baby is coming!

Trikken · 24/11/2009 18:10

oh yes, agree with BBL the bits in between for me felt fine. with me the 'fine' bits got shorter and shorter til contractions were almost coming on top of eachother, thats when the mw's started moving quite quickly!

katster37 · 24/11/2009 18:43

Thank you ladies for all your support!!

TENS machine is genius. Contracs now lasting a minute, not pleasant AT ALL but in between bits fine, coming about every 3 - 4 minutes. Rang labour ward, they said they are v busy and there are already 3 women waiting to be examined in the waiting room and to be prepared to wait!! I'm scared!! Think we will wait a bit. Am loving the tens machine though.

TAsjasmum congrats!

sleeplessinthecity · 24/11/2009 18:46

Don't panic KAtster breathe breathe..and it will happen soon..keep calm

longwayaway · 24/11/2009 18:47

So exciting, katster

Congrats on Johandré, tasjaSAmuminSA - gorgeous name!

OP posts:
sassmonkey · 24/11/2009 18:49

Oh katster that's very exciting! I ordered the Tens machine today - wasn't going to but someone said 'try anything in case it helps'. I'm glad it's helping you.

I worry about the labour ward being busy too but have faith that if you go in and are reaching a point where you need help, they'll prioritise you. Popular day for babas!
