Last chance for a Scorpio, after this weekend they'll all be Sagittarians!

southern do you make the middle of the night feeds up before you go to bed? Am tempted to do a bottle at the 1/2am feed to get a good block of sleep but not sure when to make the bottle - don't want to be heading down to the kitchen at that time of night!

Hmmph, posted a long post here earlier and it's disappeared!

Congrats to all the new mummies and welcome to the babies,

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 25/11/2009 14:03

longwayaway WOW that was quick!!! well done!!! Welcome Maeve!!!

skorpion · 25/11/2009 14:04

longway congratulations and welcome to Maeve. Another lovely name.

Mumsnet does seem to be doing weird things of late...

Comma2 · 25/11/2009 15:48

big fat congrats longway Maeve is a fantastic name and was way up high on my list too. Gosh, this is the thread of lovely names!

Laugs · 25/11/2009 16:17

Wow, congratulations Longway and Maeve! That was fast work. Weren't you on here saying yesterday evening that you felt like you had a long while to go? Do you think the belly dancing brought it on??

claired21 · 25/11/2009 16:45

Congrats longwayaway, that was fast work! Another lovely girls name. I guess it'll be a while before you're online again if it was an emcs, hope you recover quickly!

ErikaMaye · 25/11/2009 16:48

Congrats longway that's a lovely name!

Bryn has gained 300gs in nine days Hungry little man!

Hope you're all well.

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 25/11/2009 17:36

erika wow thats great! Sounds like you have taken to being a mummy very well indeed .

I am still waiting.

But we have new bamboo blinds in our front room. They look very posh and I feel all growed up! I have never had new curtains/blinds before (well i did as a student once buy some cheapo bamboo type thingies that looked terrible), everything has always either been where i have moved into, or given to me. I took forever to choose these. I was so scared that they would not fit (made to measure)!

So now my front room is almost complete apart from a bit of missing skirting, some shelves and a rug, which means I will now be able to chill in front of tv with a new baby !

raggie · 25/11/2009 17:55

Woo, well done longwayaway! Hello to little Maeve. Glad it all worked out ok.

I've had a lovely walk round New College in town with DH this afternoon, then a wee trip to the library (via a cafe for tea and a muffin!).

Trying to be positive about her not arriving yet - there's lots of nice things to do in the meantime and when she finally arrives, hopefully I won't even remember if she was late.

Positive thinking! Positive thinking!

Of course, it helps when there's a peep of sunshine rather than this awful rain we've been having almost non-stop.

skorpion · 25/11/2009 18:00

raggie New College is lovely, isn't it? Have you been to Magdalen? The grounds are beautiful and they have deer.

raggie · 25/11/2009 18:43

Yes, skorpion, I walked round Magdalene a long time ago - about time for a refresher next time it's sunny I think! (fingers crossed emoticon)

I looked up your village on google maps (think must have found it via Facebook) and it looks very pretty too. I am enjoying exploring Oxfordshire - we drove through lots of little villages near Witney yesterday and they are all so beautiful.

skorpion · 25/11/2009 18:51

It is lovely around here. How are you finding Cowley?

We do a lot of cycling around the area (well, I did before the bump got in the way), it's a great way to have a look around. Lots of nice canal walks, too. Can't wait for the spring!

raggie · 25/11/2009 18:56

Yes, I am really missing cycling too!

I like East Oxford - well remembered by the way! It has a really great feel to it - our street has lots of young families and there's lots going on in the community. There are shops and cafes and restaurants close and it's a short bus ride or cycle right into town. Best of all worlds for us at the moment really!

Did you ever live closer to the city or have you always been more rural Oxfordshire?

skorpion · 25/11/2009 19:56

We're new to the area - only been here two and a half years. Lived in BUCKS before, in the Chilterns. This is our first go at a village life and we're really enjoying it. I love being so close to Oxford - it's a perfect size city for me: lots to do without it being scarily huge. And you can walk everywhere!

Ninjacat · 25/11/2009 20:03

Congratulations Longway!

Saw mw today. She said as ds was 14days late to expect the same again. Still back to back and only 4/5ths engaged. Have sweep booked for Monday, day assessment Wednesday then induction to be booked if all else fails so think the only thing I can do is re adjust my dates in my head making my edd December 8th.

Was good to get out of the house though. Got a taxi to mw as all up hill but rolled back down via boarders where I met dp, had Hot Chocolate and bought The Lovely Bones for some light reading. Will attempt a short walk on a daily basis from now on to keep from going mad.

Hope everyone else is well.

PavlovtheForgetfulCat · 26/11/2009 07:18

Morning all. ninja baby is still back to back, hope that changes for you.

9 days overdue now and i am really getting fed up. Walking is becoming impossible as my thighs/pelvis hurts and i just do not want to be induced. Also, i am suspecting that even the excitement from my friends and family is wearing off now!

My BF is hoping to be there with us again this time. She has had lots of opp over the last two weeks to change her shifts (community nurse) or get cover at short notice to be there, however she is on duty this weekend, so she will not be able to just drop everything. Typical.
