I got my BFP yesterday, AF not due til Sunday Tested again this morning just to make sure I didn't dream it.

Have been very sick already which is what prompted me to test, also very very tired.

Looking forward to seeing other people on this exciting journey

Also feeling very cold in the evenings which I think is tiredness. Then waking up at about 2am with a dry mouth and boiling hot, asking DH to turn heating off, for him to tell me it isn't on and to go back to sleep. (Repeat nightly)

I feel like internal thermostat all over the place!

Crazycatlady · 03/12/2009 09:07

chulita I have a little cupboard-opener too... DD (11 months) literally cannot resist a good cupboard full of condiments, or a drawer full of socks. And she's so QUICK!

I've been feeling a bit green too. Haven't thrown up yet, and didn't at all last PG, but the nausea was absolutely crippling for a month or so.

I know what you mean about wishing the pregnancy away, especially if you've been through it before, the actual act of being pregnant isn't so awe-inspiringly new and for me the excitement is all about the baby we'll have at the end. Probably better than last time, when presented with newborn DD, just looked at her and went 'oh my good god we've got a baby!' Took months to get over the shock!

DD at childminder today and I'm supposed to be working, but will check back in later. Have a good day all.

Alicehasabunintheoven · 03/12/2009 09:28

Hello, mind if i join you? I got a BFP this morning, MN due date calculator puts my due date at 11th August

I thought i had a 28day cycle, but think it was probably 26 instead. Last month was 23days. I tested on monday BFN, but have been feeling knackered and a bit queasy, with ov like pains so tested this morning BFP

This will be my second. DD has just turned 2 and she was delivered by emcs, so realistically needed to wait 2yrs before trying again.

I hated being pg with DD, but i did work in a kitchen through the morning sickness and then break my leg at 20weeks hopefully this one will be more straightforward

Geocentric · 03/12/2009 09:29

One more for August! Tested last night - I was soooo sure I was pregnant but am still in a bit of shock as this is a surprise DC3...

Still, I suppose this is one way to end the eternal debate DH and I have about "are we done with our family yet?"!!

My other DCs are 7 and 5, so I'm a bit worried about the age gap, and about starting over again, but am really happy anyway.

Due date August 6th. Feeling dizzy (same as other times), sore breasts, and tummy already showing signs that this will be a much "bigger" pregnancy than before (I hope so, as DD was so small they kept her in for 5 days in the ICU until she gained enough weight to be sent home!!!)

Chulita · 03/12/2009 09:47

Congratulations both of you!
erm...alice do you have to wait 2 years after emcs?

Alicehasabunintheoven · 03/12/2009 09:48

I think it is reccomended but a friend has just had her 2nd baby (both cs) 19m after having the first

Geocentric · 03/12/2009 09:55

Thanks Chulita!

As for cs - I had DD by vbac 20 months after DS (ecs). Doctors prefer you to wait (scar better healed and all that, less risk of rupture) but hey! it wasn't a problem...

Bewler · 03/12/2009 10:07

Hello, can I join? I have followed Alice like a sheep onto this thread...

Got a shy BFP a couple of days ago which after a (seemingly) agonising wait was confirmed with a CBD this morning....woo hoo!! MN calculator gives me a due date of 10 August.

I've been lurking on MN for a while but didn't pipe up on the TTC boards in an attempt to avoid the TTC madness (completely failed and have been peeing on anything remotely stick shaped for about 6 months).

So happy but disbelieving at the moment (I need a good bout of morning sickness to convince me I reckon)

Nobody except DH knows in RL and won't do for a while so it is really nice to have some people to talk to.

Geocentric · 03/12/2009 10:10

This is so exciting! We're not sure yet when we're telling our families, so its lovely to have this space to share and see everone else's good news!!!

Crazycatlady · 03/12/2009 10:32

The family Christmas is going to be hard without telling people. We're having my family and the PILs round on Christmas Eve. Don't really want to tell them all and do the whole celebration thing as it will still be very early days. But then if I'm feeling as sick as I did last time it'll be a dead giveaway! Will just play it by ear I think, and possibly tell my mum at some point before Christmas...

Geocentric · 03/12/2009 10:35

My "not sure when we're telling" means today, tomorrow or after the weekend!!!!

Bewler · 03/12/2009 10:42

Ha Geocentric!! Such a difficult thing to keep secret. I am no way going to be able to keep it from my Mum (she is a wily fox).

Any tips on the not-drinking-but-not-telling over christmas conundrum? DH has helpfully suggested taking the "im on antibiotics....er...all over christmas" approach . My female friends won't buy that for a second...

Alicehasabunintheoven · 03/12/2009 10:44

Geo i am the same! Last time it was a shock so tried to keep it quiet til we were used to the idea, but now i want to tell everyone I did text my friend this morning though as she text me yesterday to tell me she was pg (and still keeping it secret)

Geocentric · 03/12/2009 12:02

Bewler, my friend kept things quiet for 3 months by alternating: "I'm on medication" "I have a headache so best not to drink" "I'm driving tonight" and a couple of others.

Alice, its summer where I live, so I've not got much of a chance of hiding it for long anyway (summer dresses and bikinis, dontcha know!!!) so I figure I might as well spread the news. I want to do a blood test first, but diff health system here (more like USA) so if I can get my dr friend who does school pick-up to write me an exam request I'll do it tomorrow....

Alicehasabunintheoven · 03/12/2009 12:55

I rang the doctors earlier to book an antenatal appointment only to be told they do it between 8 and 10 weeks. Okay, wasn't sure as last time got seen at 6 weeks. But she then told me i ought to book soon because it is a double app. What a month ahead?

BigMomma3 · 03/12/2009 13:36

If anyone's interested, Tesco are doing 3 for 2 offers on Pregnacare. They are 6.83 each (I got 3 months supply) so not sure whether that's cheaper than Boots cos they do 3 for 2 as well. Have not taken them for 7 years but they look pretty good with the added fish oil capsules. I took them with my previous pregnancies and the DCs are pretty healthy and I probably need them more than most as I am a veggie.

I think my body is definitely telling me my diet is all wrong. Can only stomach healthy food at the moment - just had crackers and houmous for lunch, with some almonds and a banana on the side!! Last night I ate half a big bag of the DCs jelly sweets and really suffered afterwards . With DD, I remember I was always eating dried apricots and brazil nuts and with the DTs, mashed potato .

Wish I could go back to bed and sleep until my scan tomorrow but am trying to keep busy getting the Xmas decs sorted out for the kids to put up when they finish school. Way too early but what the hell!!

AliceHABINO I have my first doctors appointment tomorrow, they didn't ask how far along I was (by my reckoning 5 +4.

I have been scaring myself last night by reading about missed miscarriages - I didn't even know what they were, now it's something else to worry about

If all goes well we're making our announcement to both sets of parents on Christmas day (but not telling anyone else until Feb time - jees all this secrecy, I could be an MI5 agent)

Welcome to the newbies

I'm still feeling so unpregnant at the moment I actually bought a CB digital test to check it would show 3+ weeks It did though, so I am a bit more reassured now!

popAwheelie · 03/12/2009 19:51

bigmomma thanks for the pregnacare tip. Was standing in front of a tescos when I read your message so popped in and bought 3 for 2 too.

Morning nausea the last three mornings. Off tea and coffee, OBSESSED with fruit. Feeling v happy and content.

Went to the GP this morning. No big deal but nice to start thinking about hospital choice etc. The experience really hit home for my man, he was quite moved by the whole thing: like waaah! And excited. Quite sweet
