I got my BFP yesterday, AF not due til Sunday Tested again this morning just to make sure I didn't dream it.

Have been very sick already which is what prompted me to test, also very very tired.

Looking forward to seeing other people on this exciting journey

Bigmoma - really pleased for you, you must be feeling so much more relaxed - nice one!

8.05 and I'm off to bed, yippee! It's the highlight of my bloody day. I'm such a loser.

xx

popAwheelie · 05/12/2009 12:41

I told my mum and dad on the phone last night (they live on the other side of the world). I told my dad first (nice for him, as im a mummas girl and usually tell her all the stuff first) and his voice went all weird (apparently his face lit up and i suppose his mouth went wide) and said to my R 'what have you been doing to my daughter' in jest. My mum's reaction was a little less than I'd hoped - probably I think because we live so far apart and she wont be able to share in this so much, so it was tinged with sadness. Understandable. But as Ive learnt here - not so different to a lot of you.

Have been really emotional today. Worries and anxieties bubbling up. Tears popping out regularly.

My boobs cheer me up though, I look like page 3 girl for the first time ever.

aussieeng glad your mum was so happy! hope her test comes back all clear. Im sure it will.

Missus84 · 05/12/2009 21:17

Pleased for you BigMomma!

I've started to feel a bit queasy, also seem to have loads of saliva at the moment - is that a well known pregnancy symptom or am I just weird?

DP is convinced my boobs look bigger already but I think that's just wishful thinking They're still so sore I'm not letting him near them anyway.

FloweryBoots · 06/12/2009 08:48

Got my BFP yesterday so just poping in to say hi to everyone. NHS due date calculator says I'll be due 12 August.

Only symptoms so far are twingy back and tummy pains (which I thought were AF pains for a coupleof days, until nothing turned up!). They're quite uncomfortable but I guess ther will be much worse in store.

This will be #1. Thought I knew a fair bit about pregnancy and birth as my mum had 6 kids and is really open about all the gorey details (!) but suddenly realised I know nothing at all. Anyone recomend a good book to get me up to speed?!

PDR · 06/12/2009 08:52

Hi everyone!

I stupidly calculated my due date wrong (doh!) and thought I was due on 1st September! Now it seems like it's 1st August (or even 30th July according to MN calculator!)

So can I join you?

This will be #2

KayloHalo · 06/12/2009 09:01

Hey you lot

I'm so much happier today, still no sign of mc. I am such a knicker checker lol. It scares me silly to think about it happening again. And I'm driving dh up the wall cos I keep saying 'if I'm still pregnant by christmas...' I'm trying not to expect this pg to last so that if it ends it won't be a bolt from the blue. Not a nice way to see it I know but I don't want to see it any other way just yet...just in case.

How are you all? I have also told family and friends as they were all aware we were ttc again anyway [dh and a big mouth = no secrets]

Bye for now, will prob pop back later.

xxx

KayloHalo · 06/12/2009 09:27

Sorry I didn't say...

Welcome to FloweryBoots and PDR

Crazycatlady · 06/12/2009 14:03

Welcome Flowery and PDR!

Flowery, I posted a list of books earlier in the thread, can't remember which page sorry, but this is my second baby and last time I went a little overboard on the book buying front .

There are some good ones that are worth getting, but TBH, I learnt so much from just trawling mumsnet and reading through old threads. Oh and I always found magazines good too, there is a massive one called I'm Pregnant which was great with little diaries of what's happening each week and some really handy product reviews.

Kaylo glad to hear you're feeling a bit better. I know it must be so hard to stay positive. I haven't yet experienced a MC but am still miss paranoid. Can't wait to at least have that 12 week scan, but seems like ages away...

Hope everyone's had a great weekend? We're just having a bit of a pre-Christmas clear out before the decorations went up.

EdgarAleNPie · 06/12/2009 16:26

hello - tested negative on 26th nov..now postive!

so EDD 08/08 = though i reckon actually 15/08 as my pgs have both gone to 41 weeks (and i am more viking than hobbit).

very early days yet - have any of you lot got a drs referral yet? it seems to take 3 weeks, so if i want a 10 week scan, (for accurate dating) i should get a pointment soon.

congratulations all round

feeling v. tired. tell me biscuits help?

bouncingblueberries · 06/12/2009 16:43

Welcome PDR and flowerboots kaylo sending you lots and lots of super-strength baby-glue. I'm super paranoid as well and hold my breath every time I go to the loo. Morning sickness is starting to kick in though, so I'm hoping that's a good sign.

Told a very dear friend today and she was so emotional! Was desperate to tell her as she held my hand all the way through my pregnancy with ds. It was lovely to get such a sweet reaction to our news!

Hope everyone else is having a lovely weekend. Was mega depressed yesterday - bought a dress form ebay for xmas party and I looked like a sausage in it . It's a beautiful 1920's style flapper dress, but with my big boobs (which were never meager to start with) and my bloated tum, it just looks awful. But, managed to pick up a gorgeous, pregnancy friendly (ie. lumps and bumps sympathetic!) dress in monsoon today. Thank goodness for monsoon! Really didn't want to feel like a fat old frump at my xmas party! And now I don't need to here's the dress for you nosey lot!

Hmm, really need some gorgeous shoes and a gorgeous clutch bag too, non?

bouncingblueberries · 06/12/2009 16:44

Oops, Sorry Edgar welcome to you too! And of course biscuits help!

burstingtotalkaboutit · 06/12/2009 16:49

hi everybody...i'm incognito for a while...am due 15th August...miscarried earlier this year. feeling quite calm considering...only just found out (3 days and 10, count em, pregnancy tests ago...they were all positive )

can i join you?

vinocollapso · 06/12/2009 19:17

Woah, Bouncing, that's a kick-arse dress - and of course, shoes and accessories are essential. Just keep think of it as money that would normally go on wine!

Glad it's not just my tummy that seems to have enlarged 4 feet. I've only put on 2 pounds but already I've gone up a bra cup size and my clothes feel too tonight around the middle. MS has also kicked in. I don't like it, but I didn't get it last time (and I mc'd), so I'm not complaining.

Kaylo - you doing ok, honey? Try not to fret too much, just take it easy and pamper as much as possible.

Edgar - welcome! Biscuits always, always help!

Anybody else gone off certain food yet? I'm struggling with everything, asides from cereal and fruit and veg. Weird.

xx

PDR · 06/12/2009 21:14

I am eating for England!

Really craving healthy things too which is great!

Sooo tired though - I don't remember being so tired last time but then I didn't have a toddler to chase around!

vinocollapso · 07/12/2009 07:47

PDR - god, me too on the tired front. I can barely fucntion it seems at the moment - to outsiders I appear fine, but on the inside I am constantly calculating the minimum amount I can get away with!

We're dareading the amount that needs to be done. Ah well. People go through worse. At least I've done all of the Christmas shoppping and sent all of the cards!

Happy Monday everyone.

BunnyBaby · 07/12/2009 08:04

I'm tired too, was ready to turn in last night at 7.30 and just a walk with DH and DS1 yesterday morning left me feeling knackered.

It's nice in a way as I feel I'm nesting by curling up non the couch. I'm also needing to pee a lot more, so although sleep is better, I'm up in the night.

Just enjoying being able to sleep on my tummy whilst I still can!

Alicehasabunintheoven · 07/12/2009 08:11

Morning

I too am shattered, but have done a lot this weekend. Morning sickness has kicked in too. I don't remember actually being sick this early on with DD.

I want to try to get lots done this week wrt christmas and then can chill a bit (and sleep)

vinocollapso · 07/12/2009 08:21

I can't even type! I meant to say that we due to be moving on 19/12 and there's so much to do. Eek!

Chulita · 07/12/2009 08:46

Morning everyone!
I had a crap day on Saturday, DH was working and I spent the whole day in bed with DD crawling around ripping things up and generally making a mess. I was able to get downstairs to feed her all 4 times she needed something but it was awful! I was really shaky, cold and had pins & needles in my hands and feet, not to mention permanent nausea. Yesterday was a lot better, I just had heartburn all day interspersed with nausea but at least I got out for a walk along the beach!
Today I feel sick again...can't wait for this to all go and I can get some energy!
2 weeks left then DH has some holiday, woohoo!

Crazycatlady · 07/12/2009 10:24

Ugh. Tiredness has hit me like a brick wall today. DD chatting to herself in her cot and not napping. So much to do, moan moan moan... right, time to pull myself together.

Sorry your Saturday was rubbish Chulita. I know what you mean about feeding DD, bleurgh. DD is getting a lot of uncooked finger food at the moment

I was just thinking last night, how on earth am I going to get her in and out of the bath when I have a huge bump

Bewler · 07/12/2009 10:48

Welcome PDR, EDgar and flowerboots!

Lovely dress bouncing. I used to work in Monsoon during my student days and got 75% off so it pains me to buy anything from there now. They have some really pretty dresses though and I bet you look great in that green number.

Not much to report on the symptom front. No massive nork growth, no nausea, no more tired than I usually feel on a Monday morning. But I know there is a bean in there! If anything my appetite is less than usual (hooray!) and cigarette smoke smells horrid so no temptation on that front.

PDR · 07/12/2009 13:09

I told the doctor I am pg this morning. He seemed to think it was very early but said he would let the midwife know. (I am 6 weeks)

I was there anyway as DS has some kind of bug and was soooo hot I thought I ought to get him seen. Have dosed him up as instructed and he has gone to bed.

I feel ok but glad to have an excuse to take the day off work! :-) Got loads of holiday to use between now and Jan as well so will take today as annual leave.

My norks are feeling very "swollen" today - I don't remember that at all last time - in fact I don't think I realised I was pg this early on!

Hope everyone is having a good day...!

Aussieng · 07/12/2009 15:01

I'm exhausted today. There is a sofa in our (unfortunately) open plan office and every fibre in my body is screaming for me to go and lie on it for "just a few moments". It is just cruel - no-one ever sits on it so it is just there taunting me... Do you think I will get away with going into the loos for half an hour, putting the toilet lid down and resting my head against the cubicle side?

Vino I'm also completely off food. Just fruit and the odd bowl of soup for about 4 days now. DH ate chilli in front of me the other night and it just smelled vile.

bouncingblueberries · 07/12/2009 16:21

OMG Aussieng that is so cruel! I'm so glad I have flexi hours and leave at 4.30pm. Could not cope otherwise.

Having a weird aversion to food textures. Anything too lumpy or chewy is a no go. Yoghurt is the way forward! I remember this with ds as well - lived on mashed potato for ages as couldn't stomach proper potatoes.

Finding lemon and ginger tea a life saver today.

EdgarAleNPie · 07/12/2009 18:45

well yeah..last time i phned to see Doc for referral @10 wks , got a pointment two weeks later and then got a referral from Dr - 3 weeks no MW referral...phoned up. they instantly panicked to get me a scan date @week 16 as they should be done @10-12 weeks....

so i think early is better.

why does it take 3 weeks for paperwork to travel 2 miles?
