spats · 23/09/2009 12:01

I have stopped myself sitting on the sofa all morning like yesterday. All i did was watch tv and eat donuts!! Each day i am overdue the weight will be piling on. No twinges or sign today. I put on my thread bare knickers in the hope this would mean i would have to show them in the delivery suite wanabe you are catching me up. x

C1NDY · 23/09/2009 13:34

Oh Spats have you tried eating something spicey, it worked for me when I was pregnant... I went to a Thai restaurant and ate one of there red curries.. .it did the trick I was in full labour the next day

wasabipeanut · 23/09/2009 13:41

Ooooh congratulations Pezzina - welcome to the world to Sofia Rose! Enjoy your wonderful babymoon. I used to lose hours gazing at my DS.

I'm sorry, I really should have checked in before now to see what was happenning but we've had the week from hell in terms of eye popping house purchase/sale stress which we are only just emerging from. We have now exchanged on our sale but not our purchase so keep your fingers crossed that the Peanut family don't end up homesless in a couple of weeks!

Spats You must be getting quite fed up now. I hope that junior decides to put in an appearance soon! Enjoy the Green & Blacks and pineapple, curry, raspberry leaf or whatever else you are using to try and get the show on the road!

Funtime Glad your scan was good and that your little one is assuming the blast off position! Hope you've turned a corner with the potty training. My DS has just gone 2 and I have been putting it off until after we move. Soon there will be no excuse. Can't say I'm looking forward to it.

C1ndy How you doing?

Well I had my 20 week scan last week and all is well. We declined to find out the flavour although I have to say it looked exactly like DS did at 20 weeks so I ave started to think maybe I am having another boy. But, as DH pointed out most 20 week old foetuses probably look fairly similar on ultrasound. We will see - it is fun speculating!

I have got a consultant appt at the hospital tomorrow as DS's birth was pretty traumatic and I am under consultant led care. Not sure what to expect really. I had a synto led induction due to waters leaking and labour not starting but it failed and ended in an em cs around 18 hours later. Not much fun really. Assuming I actually manage spontaneous labour this time I want to try for a VBAC but under my terms - ie. no hooking me up to drips, monitors etc. I'd also like to labour in water even if I have to deliver on dry land.

We'll see how much the consultacy led unit like that one!

C1NDY · 23/09/2009 17:26

Hi yar!! Wasabi Fingers and toes crossed that the house purchase doesn't fall through. Super to hear the 20 week scan went well. I am on hols next week, so am anticipating that I will have my scan the week after. I am amazed you didn't want to find out, that's the first thing I am gonna do when I get to the 20 week scan is ask what I am having - I love planning ahead... if its a boy then I can finally bag up all the clothes which I have kept in the attic which belongs to my daughter, ready to send to charity shops etc... But I do think that I am having a girl... I have still got MS so it must be a girl! I also have a consultant which will be seeing me through this pg as I am high risk... being 40 and a high BMI... oh well... its good to have the extra care. I was so set on having a csec but now am thinking I may try and see if I can deliver naturally but will wait until I get closer the time but also ask my consultant what he thinks. I am so looking forward to you having your baby as then I will only have about 9 weeks to go - your my marker that it will all be over. I know... I know... we have a long time go!!

Hope everyone is well!!

Have good evening

Cindy

Hi Spats just calling in to see if there is any news from you today???
Wishing you well if you are finally in labour and hope your little boy arrives for you some time soon.
Katie is doing really well, she is now 8lb 7 and feeding all the time. She started to give me the odd smile last week and the last couple of days especailly in the morning she is really smiley...its so good to see

spats · 26/09/2009 11:14

still no baby we did try BD on Thurs and then thurs night i had contractions that were 10 mins apart but really mild like beginning of period. even got mum over as assumed would get stronger in night but alas no. went to bed and slept through until 4 and nothing had happened. resigned to fact that will be induced tom evening @ 8.30pm so all your positive thoughts will be great. am bit scared as husband not allowd on antenatal ward after 12pm so i will be lying in a horrible hospital bed when contractions start instead of being able to stay at home for a while. but i guess if things progress quickly i am in the right place. just got to get through today and tommorrow and wait for it. fingers crossed the delivery goes ok. only thing is hve to phone to make sure have bed that day, whats the betting they don't!! x

Pezzina · 26/09/2009 18:21

Spats have you tried nipple stimulation? I'm sure it helped kicked start my contractions. The midwife recommended it when I went for my second sweep.

Still getting to grips with being a milk machine for Sofia. She is one hungry baby! I know what you mean Wasabi - I spend much of my day just gazing at her .

Very glad to hear that your scan went well and I hope your appointment with the consultant was okay.

Smiley Glad that Katie is doing well and putting on weight.

The midwife is coming over tomorrow and it will be comforting to know that Sofia has hopefully regained her birth weight and all is well.

smileycat · 27/09/2009 11:09

Oh Spats I know how frustrating it can be when you think you are in labour and then it all stops. I did the same as you and contracted every 7 mins on the Sat, went to bed and really thought it would all kick off that night but was soooo disappointed when I woke up in the morning with no contractions, but then they really did kick off about 830 that morning and she was born by 2, lets hope it works out the same for you and you are now in labour and don't have to go down the route of induction....good luck

smileycat · 29/09/2009 15:04

I guess no news from spats is good news hopefully she is settling in with her new arrival...good luck to you spats if you have already had him, tell us all your news once you are ready

Heebychick · 29/09/2009 22:03

lots of love and best wishes

xxxx

funtimewincies · 30/09/2009 18:58

! Only on here would you see 'have you tried nipple stimulation' written between 2 people who've never met, I love it !

Also popped into see if there was any news...

It's been a bit scary at this end, I had an 'episode' of period/miscarriage like pains and backache for a couple of hours on Saturday night and mw found that baby had engaged 3/5 yesterday, so off to the hospital today. Luckily baby has disengaged completely again and all has settled down - phew!

It's made dh get his bum in gear though and he's finally planning on getting the baby stuff out of the loft this weekend .

Hope you're all well.

funtimewincies · 30/09/2009 19:00

Oh and ds has finally cracked potty-training , hooray!

funtimewincies · 03/10/2009 20:06

It's all gone very quiet. Any news Spats?

C1NDY · 05/10/2009 13:36

Hi All only popping in quickly as I have a board meeting to attend over the next couple of days. Will be okay on Thursday... so roll on Thursday.

Had my scan this morning and it went well...my little bean is the right size etc for dates. Now all I have left is the downs scoring which as you all know me, is worrying me already. They have taken bloods but as I am fat and 40 I know my score will not be high... will know in 5 days so no doubt will let you all know.

Will catch up with all posts soon.

SPats good luck with the pending birth, I am thinking of you.

Cindy

C1NDY · 05/10/2009 18:16

meant to say the score will be high

smileycat · 06/10/2009 17:45

Fantastic news C1ndy hope that has now put your mind at rest a little.

Spats I am guessing your little man is now with you as you were getting induced last weekend and you are just a little bogged down with a new arrival and the other two boys, drop us all a line when you get time and let us know how it went for you..with love

C1NDY · 07/10/2009 14:17

Hi, just got my result today on the downs score it was 1:150... which is borderline. Not sure what to do. My daughter had a score of 1:146 and she was fine. What would you all do, would you go for amnio or should I not worry? The nurse said its because I am 40 and therefore I start at 1 : 97 ... I thought the blood tests combined with the scan should have been more accurate, I was hoping for a higher score. But as 150 is right on the borderline... if I had 151 then it would have been classed as low risk but 150 is classed as high risk. I think I may ask for nasal etc scanning test to be done. My DH is not bothered as he said my daughter was 146 and I was 37 at the time! so being 40 and getting 150, he classes it as being good. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Stressed out Cindy

smileycat · 07/10/2009 18:49

C1ndy only you and your DH can make that decission.
What would you do if you had the tests and it turned out that you had a child with downs, would it change your mind about the pregnancy or would it not make a difference. If the answer is yes and you definately couldn't live with a child with downs then I would say go ahead and have the tests to put your mind at rest. If the answer is No and you would go ahead with the pg anyway then take the 150 as a positive and relax knowing that your daughter was less odds and she turned out perfect xx wishing you all the best with your decission
