Ninjacat · 15/09/2009 20:44

Thanks Easyeggs. Have to go to court with ds's Dad. Representing myself so pretty stressed.
The hand holding is much appreciated

EasyEggs · 15/09/2009 20:49

No wonder you're so nervous, sorry to be nosey, have missed so much lately, is it about contact or something? Feel free not to answer

Why are you representing yourself? I really hope it is nothing like you are imagining and goes really smoothly. I would be feeling the exact same way in your shoes though.

Do you have chocolate and wine, I think in these circumstances it is more than acceptable to have both

hobnob57 · 15/09/2009 21:15

pav may I recommend dulux flamingo fun 6 as a nice tolerable pink for toddlers' rooms? can send a pic if you like. I was so on your behalf last night that LO was very active, and has continued to be all day. I think they just take notions like that - my bump was silent for a couple of days after long car journeys but you'd never think it now!

Had a really day. A stupid laptop at work has wiped my entire memory stick, making life very difficult. Strangely I'm remarkably calm about it - I think with 4 week left and the prospect of soon forgetting about whatever was on it is helping. Although I'm with those dreading the dark winter days with toddler and newborn - I swore after DD1 I'd never have another winter baby!

As a result of my technical probs I was up and down stairs a lot today. When I got to DH's work to pick him up, I went to change seats in the car and my stomach muscles down the front of my belly (long since parted company) got REALLY sore. I had to hold my belly all the way home to ease the pain, and going round corners was excruciating. When I got home I needed 6 cushions to allow me to sit on the sofa and even then the slightest movement was agony. And then the baby started it's kicking again... I was really close to tears and envisaging my muscles being torn to shreds from the inside. I wondered if it was due to LO being very sticky outy today, as in like a full bum's width in front of my ribs, and literally overstretching things 'till they ripped. And of course pummelling in that region ALL day causing significant internal bruising.

...but then, after half an hour of cbeebies, it all magically went away. I am most mystified. To think that a change in LO's position must be able to change your whole pg experience like that? Most weird. I hope it never comes back again because I was really struggling to do a single thing, including standing still!

ninja all fingers crossed for tomorrow. Be strong. Mummys know best.

I'm really starting to feel the 3rd trimester niggles becoming more of a trial now. Let's take a collective deep breath and endure the weeks of discomfort to come together. we'll manage!

Ninjacat · 15/09/2009 21:19

Not nosey at all.
I have to represent myself because I can't afford solicitor (he gets legal aid).
It's all a bit of a long story but in essence it is to change a contact order. Stuff that should really be easy to deal with but ds's dad has communication issues so nothing gets done easily.

Unfortunately we are having some very tough finance issues at the moment so no chocolate or wine in the house but this will pass I'm sure (especially if I get my arse in gear and put some invoices in!)

Ninjacat · 15/09/2009 21:26

Thanks Hobnob. Sorry to hear about the pain.

Easyeggs I'm sounding very sorry for myself. I'm just not sure what way it's going to go and a little that this has been a shadow over this pg for the past 6mths.

Can't wait to wrap things up a bit and just put my feet up for a while.

EasyEggs · 15/09/2009 21:28

hobnob Totally with you on those 3rd trimester niggles grrr. My muscles disappeared waaaaay back, think it was number 2 that shot those to pieces! Sometmes when I walk to or back from town I have to do the belly holding thing as it is so sore. Not easy whilst pushing a double buggy though. I just keep reminding myself that the baby is easier in there than out right now

Ninja So sorry about you having to go through all that, horrible timiing too. Believe me I understand just how you must be feeling though. I am in a very similar position. Ds1 & 2's dad is currently residing at her majesties leisure due to being a complete twunt and doing various things to me/our house etc. He now is taking me to court on Oct 1st, which is my and dp's little boys 1st birthday I am so just for that, anyway he wants contact with the 2 ds's that are "ours". In my eyes he lost all rights when he burnt their home to the ground 3.5yrs ago. I have had no choice but to get a solicitor as it is such a complex case and today I had to hand over 2 post dated cheques totalling £1000 I am just so so angry that the guilty get all this free and us "victims" have to pay through the nose for any sort of decent service.

Sorry went on a bit there Just really struck a chors with me atm.

katster37 · 15/09/2009 21:29

Hi all
Just back from NHS antenatal, really good - about complications which actually made me feel v reassured.. Anyway, just wanted to say good luck tomorrow Ninja, I hadn't realised it had actually got to the court stage, you poor thing. WIll be thinking of you.

Becky I hope you're less snotty soon!! Also feeling quite snotty and sore throaty and only been back at school a week and a half!!

Tigger I hope you have a better day tomorrow with your DSs. It sounds like DS1 is feeling v remorseful. Hope the flowers and choc help, I'm sure they will.

Kyte you sound mega organised, I am jealous!! Thought I was fairly on the ball with some stuff, but am quickly realising I sooooo do not have a clue!! Can't even manage to keep the house vaguely tidy when I am working, it so quickly goes to pot no matter how hard I try!

My Ina May and Childbirth Without Fear books came today. Hope they are useful. Also, just started 'Call the Midwife' - can't remember who recommended it (it was a while ago) but really enjoying it, so thank you whoever it was!

katster37 · 15/09/2009 21:30

Also, sorry everyone I have missed!! to everyone and EasyEggs hope things are easier for you at home with your DP.

Ninja - [hugs] for tomorrow. I hope it goes as well as it possibly can. I really feel for you not being able to get representation when he can. That sucks.

OMG, DH has just opened an enormous parcel sent from his brother. It is the most enormous Bose sub-woofer. WTF we meant to do with that? We live in a flat with almost 2 children, not in a detached cottage in the middle of nowhere with a club in it! Seriously, its enormous. His brother lives in US, and likes to send random things. Well not too random, DH been wanting to get decent surround sound and bought some speakers a while back and the sub was not the right one, so he saw this and bought it. Just because. I mean, its lovely and all, but where is it going to go? it is got to be 1.5ft high, by 1/4 wide, by 1ft long!!!!!! Oh well, men and their toys eh? I am anticipating an action movie coming on. Lucky the woman below is deaf .

I can't beleive you only have 4 weeks to go already hobnob it is coming so fast isn't it! Are you ready? How horrid that you are suffering so much, final trimester can be very tough, I cannot beleive we are already in it though! I will look at the flamingo pink, piccies would be grand! We will probably only let her have the build in recess cupboard doors done in pink (they are quite large so should be enough!) and only if it is not too offensive!

Ninjacat · 15/09/2009 21:39

Gosh Easyeggs that's awful!
It's like the courts facilitate the continuation of their abuse even when they physically can't get at you.
My dp is also livid on your behalf

raggie · 15/09/2009 21:39

Hi everyone, just checking in, trying to catch up with all the goss...but there's too much!

Am off to bed now as knackered after taking 30 children swimming this afternoon then being drenched on way home.

Miserable!

Ah well, should stop complaining as know could be worse. Thinking of those of you with bigger problems than mine at the moment. And those with small but annoying ones too .

Night night (yawning!)

Ninjacat · 15/09/2009 21:41

Thanks for all the hand holding

BeckyBendyLegs · 15/09/2009 21:45

Ninja will be thinking of you tomorrow.

I'm going to lie under a duvet now...

EasyEggs · 15/09/2009 21:51

Pav wow that seems a leeeeeetle OTT lol!! I'm sure your dh will be kept entertained for hours with that though if he is anything like my dp!! I think it's true that men never actually grow up

katster thanks for the thoughts, me and dp getting along remarkably well, long may it last!!

Ninja exactly! The law and justice situation in this country leaves a lot to be desired Unfortunately me moaning on isn't helping you though, sorry, I really hope tomorrow goes as well as it can for you. What time do you have to be there? Will be thinking of you and sending virtual strength your way xx

Raggie You took 30 kids swimming?! I am in awe I couldn't even manage to take myself swimming these days!

Goodnight all of you off to bed. I still have to wait for the washing to finish as I forgot to do ds1 swimming kit for tomorrow so it's in as we speak, I so need to get more organised....

hobnob57 · 15/09/2009 21:53

Pavlov it's 4 weeks of work, not 4 weeks in total left, otherwise I'd be a bit more worried about things!!

DD wanted a purple room. We bought tester pots and they all looked too enclosed and cold, so we went for the lightest, purpliest pink we could find. It's very pastelly and actually quite pleasant. I never thought in a million years I'd ever paint a room pink, but there you have it. And DD, the most discerning and vocal 2.9 year old I know, has accepted that it is 'purple' without question. How to I get pics to you?

Ninjacat · 15/09/2009 21:57

Easyeggs 10.30am. Off to bed now.

Really glad things are going so well with your dp.

EasyEggs · 15/09/2009 22:01

Thank you

Hope you manage to not worry too much and get some sleep, good night x

scarlotti · 15/09/2009 22:11

Ninja just wanted to wish you the best for tomorrow and hope it all goes well. It is dreadful how the system seems to side with those that are twats, and those affected by it all have to muddle through somehow.
Have had similar situations in the past with DD's dad, who also had free board and lodging from her majesty, and it infuriates me that if you try to make a better life, you end up paying.

hobnob glad the pain has gone, you poor thing. Take it as a sign to slow down a little - although easier said than done I know when you also have a full days work to do.

4 choccy biccies this end to round the evening off nicely. Heading up to bed now.

beepbeep · 15/09/2009 22:22

Off to bed, but just wanted to say I hope it goes well tomorrow Ninja x

ErikaMaye · 15/09/2009 23:41

Broodzilla I think we really should get some kinda reward for typing so much Glad to hear you?ve been left in peace too

Tigger have a huge hug from me. X

Becky feel better soon. If you?re looking as good as Meg Ryan in You?ve Got Mail, then I?m jealous And I think the giant sofa idea is fantastic! Perhaps we should just invade a DFS store??

Skorpion ohhh yes I keep doing that!! I had a dream about it earlier actually when I was having a nap ? think it might have been Pavlov? EasyEggs I went to the Co-Op as they still have a sale on Galaxy - whispers I bought five bars. Have been very good and not even opened one yet!! Though that might be because I finished off the one from last this instead? Sorry to hear about the CS if that?s not what you wanted And sorry to hear about the court-related problems too, sounds like a mine field

Ninja biggest of big hugs for tomorrow. Will be thinking of you. Send me your address and I?ll post you the biggest bar of chocolate I can find!!!

Hobnob sorry to hear about the pains Have you tried surrounding yourself with cushions in the car? Obviously not idea when you?re driving. But when you?re not, they help absorb some of the bumps. Hope you?re feeling better now.

DP is back I had to almost restrain myself from going to meet him at the station. I?m just so relieved he?s back in one piece, and I am so sure I will sleep better ? have been panicking the whole time he was away that my waters would break and he wouldn?t be here. Thank goodness.

Had a bit of an emotional break down earlier Don?t know what I?d do without my mum right now? She?s a God-send, really is. I don?t think I could do this without her. I really must buy her several bottles of everything for Christmas!!

I am officially living in giant track suit bottoms. Comfort over fashion any time

Hope you?re all well. x

BeckyBendyLegs · 16/09/2009 07:27

I've had another shitty night's sleep with nose, legs, indigetion - WHY OR WHY CAN'T WE PREGNANT WOMEN SLEEP!!!. Oh woe is me!!!! I feel like a walking zombie

Ninja I do wish you all the best for today. I'll be sending your lots of good luck vibes at 10.30am.

Erika ok not quite like Meg Ryan then perhaps more like Rudolf the Red Nosed Raindeer!

Oh poo, better get the DSs up. Byeee!

BeckyBendyLegs · 16/09/2009 07:28

PS Erika so glad for you that you've got a lovely, supportive mum

I've been married nine years today! Glad I'm not getting married today - think of the photos with the snotty nose!

Trikken · 16/09/2009 08:18

hiya all. slept ok last night so woke fairly cheerful this morning.

Pav I live nr Dorchester, that might be quite far from you, but im not really sure as my geog is absolutely appalling!

Have only been putting on 'proper' maternity trousers when I have to go out, otherwise have been living in jogging bottoms or sometimes just my stretchy trousers usually used as pj bottoms.

Was only expecting mil to buy me a dvd or something of similar value for my birthday but she was way over- generous and bought me wii fit, which is lovely but cant really give it a proper go for another eight weeks at least. tho i did do the body test, which was a bit depressing as it just pushed my 'mii' into the Obese catagory, thus making it quite quite chubby. marty said not to worry as its just cos its not designed for pregnant women and gave me a hug saying i will be whooping him on it soon.

Trikken · 16/09/2009 08:20

BBL congratulations on your wedding anniversary. x
