Morning all, Junies, Julies alike

We are officially 'Julies' I think, unless some of you snuck off and had babies before midnight last night??!!

I didn't get back on yesterday, and was thinking " uh oh, they'll all be expecting me to be in labour!" But I wasn't Mw couldn't do the sweep because the cervix is still too far back soft and open, but not forward enough to break any membranes. So, I'm booked in for an induction on Tuesday night. I hope it doesn't come to that, mainly because it means that labour has to be monitored quite a lot which limits your options i.e. probably no water birth. Still. I'm most disappointed that it seems like my body just wont play ball with this labour thing Makes me think, "what's wrong with my body, why wont it let these babies out??" Perfection takes a while I suppose..! I'm going to call my accupuncturist and get her to come and stick needles in me stat!!

Hi Mrs D and Hub Hmmm the prospect of posting on 2 threads has always over-whelmed me somewhat Especially since the June thread was so fast moving, I may make it, I may not!! HOwever, it does seem that once the babies arrive (and this is my second) there ain't much time fer postin!

Hub, I txted Charley yesterday but didn't hear back. I expect if they did go home they are all trying to settle in after quite a hellish week. I'll let you know as soon as I hear, unless she posts herself

Any of you pregnant people feel like you are being constantly stared at? Or rather your bump is?? After I saw the mw, I went into town and treated myself to 2 lipsticks So many people just stared at my bump!!! I thought it was quite normal sized until a woman actually came up to me in a shop and put her hands on my tummy and commiserated with me about the size of it and how terrible it must be to be pregnant in this heat etc etc etc!!!

Hmmmm I have been told I look like i have a basketball stuck up my tshirt and from the back I don't look pregnant, so all this attention annoyed me quite a lot

Still, a positive spin on yesterday includes Having time to myself without dd, buying 2 new lipsticks, eating 4 packets of crisps, eating a snickers with my cuppa, watching the tennis, having a good supper with dp, dd being very cute and wanting lots of cuddles, soaking my feet and watching Murphy's Law, having a quick facial steam, cleaning the larder, confirmation of my tax refund, ordering some baby stuff and not feeling too tired all day

See you all later!!!

LipstickMum · 01/07/2005 07:14

Ooooh Mog!!! exciting!!! For some reason my computer didn't show all the late night posts til now, so I missed that. I so hope you are in labour!!!!

hub2dee · 01/07/2005 08:02

eastyorksmum · 01/07/2005 08:40

LipstickMum · 01/07/2005 08:41

Hello again

There was a late night txt from Charley to say, they are home!! All happy and loved up She needs to get her computer back, today I think, and then will post!

Mog, I do hope you're in labour, but who am I going to talk to?!!

LipstickMum · 01/07/2005 08:42

Ah ha! hello EYM!! Bloody pain in the arse this waiting I'm off to bounce on the birthing ball

hub2dee · 01/07/2005 08:46

That's fab news, re: Arlo and cp, Lippy. Thanks for the update.

Big hug, charleypops and df and Arlo the Podule. XXX

Tessiebear · 01/07/2005 09:14

Thanks for that advice - i will pack a few more proper sleepsuits, instead of the short sleeved/ legged things i had packed!
Lipstick - it still could happen naturally - i feel exactly the same as you do though - having an induction will mean no water birth and the hospital as opposed to the birthing unit. Think i might try a few home remedies.
The MW said to me that the state of your cervix can change "just like that" so dont feel too disheartened
Well - the rest of us are now "July mums"

Tessiebear · 01/07/2005 09:15

btw - my boobs havnt leaked throughout my whole pregnancy , but have the last couple of days! - A sign possibly????

welshmum · 01/07/2005 10:37

Hello Lippy - glad to hear you're having suitably relaxing days with lots of crisps and lipstick - what more could a girl ask for. I hope it goes really well for you when it happens - will be thinking of you.
Mog - hope you're off having your baby somewhere - especially since you've taken the trouble to straighten your hair - there's no excuse for leaving off the mascara though - waterproof no good?
Tessiebear, gwennybee and Eastyork mum hope things start to happen for you too.
Sorry if I've left anyone out.
Such good news about Charlie and Arlo - can't wait to hear from her.

eastyorksmum · 01/07/2005 11:32

LipstickMum · 01/07/2005 11:38

Hi again,

Thanks for good vibes Welshie, how old is ds now?? A month?? it doesn't seem possible that we have all had babies about 6 weeks apart. 6 weeks is a long time in the life of a newborn...

Gosh, I'm tired today. Think it might have to be a day in front of the tennis for me I hope dp comes home on time too.

Hi Tessie, I don't think my cervix is a fast worker, but I'll cling to that possibility like a life raft

Tessiebear · 01/07/2005 15:22

I wish for a day in front of the tennis - i cannot stop cleaning and tidying - it is exhausting!!! Oh, and making tea for the workmen!!!

welshmum · 01/07/2005 15:25

Hi Lippy (waves) ds is 5 weeks and 3 days and obviously the most handsome boy that ever was We both went to the hairdressers this morning, he slept in his pram while I had a cut 'n blow and a complimentary manicure. It was most enjoyable and I'm sure the end result will be much admired later as I sit on the sofa and ds decides whether to sick up on me or not.....still, I did feel glamorous for 1/2 an hour

eastyorksmum · 01/07/2005 15:54

hiya just checking back in had a nap has anyone heard anything form Moq?

Having a few twinges so fingers crossed just wish my waters would go then theres no turning back.

Anyway good labour vibes to ua all xxxxxxxx

gwenynbee · 01/07/2005 23:20

Hello to you all, hope that you are all doing well. Hate to sound like a stuck record, but yes, still here...been having really wierd pains today, but none of them have had a regular pattern, and haven't lasted more than a couple of minutes. The MW doing a home visit again tomorrow, I just can't believe that it's now 41 weeks!! Oh well, I am resigned to the fact that I will be induced on Tuesday now.....will be glad to get it all over and done with...

Good luck to you all, and regards to all the Junie mums and babies.

PS: Cofion cynnes to Welshmum too

eastyorksmum · 02/07/2005 05:58

Morning qwennybee im still here and still having contractstions well i was last nite started at 5pm finished about 9pm all settled down. MW is comming to do a sweep today so we live in hope lol.

Hi lippy hope your doing ok today too

sending good labour vibres to all of us

Love to all the juney mums and babies xxxxxxxx

uwila · 02/07/2005 17:27

Lippy, we are definitely spanning a long period. DS was born 19 of May and I can remember who snuck in just before us. So, someone's baby is going to be 7 weeks in a few days.

tribpot · 02/07/2005 17:30

Cobweb and bero nipped in ahead of you, uwila. Their kids must be practically off to university by now

Lua · 02/07/2005 17:33

Wow, is quiet here all of a sudden!
Are you all off having babies then or watching Wimbledon/ live 8?
As much as I am enjoying the telly, hope you are all busy elsewhere

teabelly · 03/07/2005 12:50

Afternoon girls,

Just quickly popping in to wish everyone still waiting lots of good labour vibes, and hoping to see you all on the pn thread soon - don't defect permenantly to the july boards!!!

eastyorksmum · 03/07/2005 15:44

Hi girls well im still here we had another visit to labour ward last nite contractions down to 3 mins the MW had done a sweep yesterday morning and id been having reg contractions since 2 pm by 12 ooclock last nite was cooming every 3 mins and lasting so we couldnt take the chance.

could only get to 3 1/2 cm dilated again then all stopped at 5 am this mrning me and hubby are exhausted i think ill just lock myself in my bedroom until wed tea time when i go back to get induced.

Sorry about the moan but fed up now i dont think my body is working prob.

Anyway hi lippy hope your doing better

Love to all the babies been born.

tribpot · 03/07/2005 19:41

Oh EYM how frustrating for you! Still, hopefully it means your labour will (finally) go quicker with all this practice.

gwenynbee · 03/07/2005 22:49

It's terribly quiet in here.....you must all be busy with your little babies, some of us however are still massaging perineums, swigging raspberry leaf tea by the gallon, ironing like mad, checking hospital bags 10 times a day, having vindaloo's for every meal....ok you get the picture!!!!

Hope that you are all ok, looking forward to going in to be induced on Wednesday, hopefully by the end of the week I will be able to share my good news with you all.

Regards and best wishes as always to you all and babes x

Cooperoo · 04/07/2005 06:06

Sorry I haven't been around for ages. This baby thing combined with dh being off work and dd is taking ALL my time. I feel I am letting you down though as everyone was so supportive to me. Sorry .
Mrs F I haven't even said congratulations on your new arrival. Totally thrilled for you.
Good luck everyone. It can't be long now. For those of you facing induction the light is there now at the end of the tunnel.
Take care and see you on the other side.
I am going to try and catch up with the post natal thread later today.......
Take care ladies and good luck. I am thinking of you....
