No such luck ladies......still here!!

We're nearly here on the 25th June and there's no sign - just a few awkward pains today, but not as bad as yesterday....

I'm not going to be doing "it" again though - bleurgh!!

Checked hospital bags for the umpteenth time today - there's nothing else to do now just sit and wait. I am so bored....dp is at work all day, I'm too scared to leave the house on my own. I wish ds would arrive so that I had something to do.....I've been told that I should be grateful for this time. Well I am not!!!!

Sorry for ranting ladies, good luck to those still waiting and I hope that all the mummies and babies out there are doing well.

LipstickMum · 25/06/2005 06:31

Awake at 6 today after a fitful sleep. Felt very nauseous last night and hardly ate any of the delicious jamie Oliver fish curry that I made Dp assured me it was yummy! My tummy is being very funny and gurgly, but tbh I am not reading too much into this!!

I think I'll have to go back to bed pretty soon though, I'm just too exhausted.

eastyorksmum · 25/06/2005 11:09

Hi to you all you new mums out there i dont know if you ll remember me I posted a while ago but found it hard to keep up. Anyway congrats on all your safe arrivals well im just over due now our baby boy is one day over 4o+ 1 so im were in the same boat as some of you playing the waiting came.As this is my fourth baby im suprised to say weve been in labour ward 3 times now with 3- 5 mins contractions and no dilation 35 weeks, 36 weeks, 38 weeks and of course thursday morn 4 am so nearly 40 weeks. So having a bit of a rough time but were happy enough just me and hubby are getting tired hopefully baby will come soon...as the doc have said its my irritable womb so im now nearly 3 cm dilated although not in established labour. Anyway love to you allI know we will be meeting our little man soon so good luck and Ill keep a watch out for all of you xxxxxxxxx

Franniban · 25/06/2005 12:36

Hi girls,

Mog, Lol at your hair dilema. I imac ed when I was having contractions every 5 mins, no way was I going in looking like a gorilla, like I did last time!
I feel for you all still hanging on in there. I agree, it is very boring, and being to told to make use of the time is extremely irritating.
Now the weather is a bit cooler it should be a bit more bearable. Hope things kick off for you all soon,
Good labour vibes coming your way. XX

Cooperoo · 25/06/2005 18:12

Hi ladies. Just popping on to stay thinking of you and hope that you are not all getting too frustrated. Harriet is being a dream baby so far just feeding and sleeping. I have even had all my meals with DH and dd1 at the table and although she wakes every 2-3 hours for a feed she soon settles after and so my sleep is not too disturbed either. I am expecting all that to change over the next few days but enjoying it while it lasts. DD1 is beginning to calm down a bit now. She is still desperate to kiss and touch dd2 all the time but overall beginning to give her a bit more space. The only real problem we have is trying to keep dd2 at the right temperature without fans blasting her etc. She has suffered a bit with heat rash but this is all so far. I feel very lucky. I love this 'honeymoon' period of time . Good Luck all.

mogwai · 25/06/2005 18:41

Hi ladies

Still hangin on in there, I see. Awake most of last night. Had a Cadbury's dipped flake at 4am -what decadence. This chocolate-mania is getting the better of me. We were given a chocolate fondue set for xmas 1999 and never used it (though I did relieve it of it's chocolate!!!!). Anyway, I thought "it's now or never - could be on a diet with the week" so last night melted some Marks and Spencer white choc and dipped bananas in it. I got so messy I had to put my clothes straight into the wash - dh has photographic evidence that I NEVER want to see!

Period type pains on and off all day today. Went out for lunch and a bit of a mooch about. Jippy tummy. Is anyone else suffering from hot hands? JEEEEEEESUS they itch! Had to get some HC cream from Boots.

Very fed up, had a good cry this morning, while leaning over the sink to cool my hands down. Ended up with very wet spectacles (you don't usually cry while in this position - it's most odd).

Re the hair dilemma - hmm I think I'm going for some Immac tomorrow. The thought of the stubble is putting me off a bit.

eastyorksmum · 26/06/2005 06:33

Morning ladies havnt slept very well.didnt go to bed till 3am feel very heavy. YesterdayI was full of energy felt i had to finish everything strange sensation hopefully nesting hubby was so tired he slept most the day I kept going. I thought that maybe talking to baby might get him to come I know it sounds silly MW said it might work. Scan dates are monday so hopefully feel very excited at the thought of meeting my baby boy now though and thats a nice feeling.

Well good luck to us all today hopefully some of us wil be delivering, I dont want to wait untill 12 th day to be induced. Ill check in later see how everyone is xxxxxxx

mogwai · 26/06/2005 09:42

still here

mrsflowerpot · 26/06/2005 11:24

morning ladies

well still here, feeling a bit peculiar, had a bit of a show yesterday with period pains and backache so got all excited, but it all wore off by lunchtime. So we're still all set for c-section tomorrow morning at the moment. At least I know that this time tomorrow something will be happening, even if it's just that I'll be sitting in a hospital gown going 'when is it my turn, when, when?'

I will also be having a good old Immac session tonight, am not prepared to let them shave me with a dry razor tomorrow.

Glad to hear it's all going so well with Harriet, Coop, hope dd1 is taking to her OK. DS is very excited at the moment, but I'm not convinced that will last long afterwards. After all, babies much less interesting than Star Wars.

Know what you mean about the imminent diet, Mog, have eaten chips the last two nights running . However I am looking forward to a bit of chocolate as it has made me pukey all the way through this pg so I have hardly had any since October.

EYM, hope you get to catch up on some sleep - try to have a nap this afternoon (I love afternoon naps and you so rarely get the excuse for them.

No sign of Lippy this weekend then???

Friendlygirl · 26/06/2005 11:52

Hello all. Many congratulations to those with new babies - how exciting!!!! And hello to the rest of us who are still here. Wave to EYM - another occasional poster!!! And hello MrsFlowerpot a baby by tomorrow one way or another. I am so {envy} I have posted a couple of times as Jezebel but then changed my name as an experiment and don't know how to go back - oh well. Anyway I am now 41 weeks exactly. Seeing consultant tomorrow to discuss induction dates. Strictly it should be Thursday but MW said they may take pity on me (due to history of multiple mc) and do it Tuesday. Have had a sweep last week, some show last coouple of days, periody pains and prementrual type teariness. MIL arriving tomorrow to look after toddler. At least I will feel something happening.

LipstickMum · 26/06/2005 12:02

Sorry to disappoint Mrs F, but I am still here! Just don't get the chance to come on much at the weekends!!

Am feeling nauseous a lot and tidying like crazy, not to mention the shagging

Still undecided on a name Can you believe it?? I mean, how much time do we need exactly??!!!

LipstickMum · 26/06/2005 12:03

If I don't get on again before tomorrow, good luck with the section tomorrow Mrs F!! What happens if it does all kick off before then??!!

eastyorksmum · 26/06/2005 13:22

mogwai · 26/06/2005 13:33

good luck mrs F

Just inspected the offending upper-leg area . Looks like Hyde Park Corner...or possibly some nature reserve where they breed toads.

Am off to get dressed RIGHT NOW and get the Immac

Cooperoo · 26/06/2005 14:19

Good Luck Mrs F. Can't wait for the good news.

PinkArjuna · 26/06/2005 14:28

Charley! When are you going to let us know?!

mogwai · 26/06/2005 17:10

used the Immac mousse. You need to stand well back!

It's scary stuff, but it's worked a treat. Don't think it's very neat, but hey, you can't have everything

gwenynbee · 26/06/2005 18:49

Still here ladies! Due date now passed!Nothing seems to be happening - went to a part last night and drove there and back - even ferried a few friends around, so that they could have a drink. No need for everybody to be god damn miserable was there! Loved it in a way - people were fussing around me all evening - much to the annoyance of the b'day girl!!

DP has spoilt me rotten today - I have had a 2hour clary sage massage...bliss...I only hope that his efforts haven't gone to waste. Still having pains - but nothing regular.

Coop - good to hear from you! Glad that you are all settling in well.

Good luck to all of you still waiting...and thinking of the mums and babies out there too!
