it's definitely true about Gordon Ramsay - I read an interview with him. He and his wife agreed he wouldn't be there.

I admire his honesty. He says that despite four kids, they have a "very active" sex life!!

I think it's fair enough, if you honestly feel like that, but not sure who else I'd want at the birth other than dh and wouldn't want to be alone

mrsflowerpot · 22/06/2005 18:42

I wouldn't have Gordon wasting time changing nappies I can tell you...

You're right Lippy, there are a lot of people missing today... hopefully we will log in to some news tomorrow. I am totally resigned now to being here until Monday, at least I have an 'end date' I suppose. And I'm quite enjoying the being totally lazy - I sat in the garden all afternoon while ds ran through the sprinkler with his light saber and dh brought me ice lollies.

LipstickMum · 22/06/2005 22:21

evening all

Back from the curry, was yummy nd not too hot. Dp'd was though and I had bits of it.

Tomorrow is my official day

Can't wait to hear news of those who are absent!

It's so exciting!! I'm really excited for everyone lol it's so silly!

Night night!

Morning girls,
Hope you're all well and not suffering too much in this heat.
Pink, that's some birth story, sounds like you're well loved up, am so pleased for you.
Bub, huge congratulations on the birth of Oscar James. Haven't read your birth story yet, but must say that I had a bad time with birth of ds, and it does fade. Great taste by the way, my ds is called Oscar too!
Will post birth story, take care all, look forward to seeing who else has checked in.

Hey Lipstickmum

Today is our official day!!

Has the curry worked? I've had not a peep out of my little angel despite gallons of heartburn-inducing Raspberry Leaf tea

Went to see "Mr ans Mrs Smith" at the cinema last night. Had to leave before the end, it was so hot in there

gwenynbee · 23/06/2005 08:34

Hope that all is well with you ladies! Still no sign....two days until EDD! The endless balti's I have been eating have had no effect - just rank breath and evil heartburn. I am going to start swigging from the clary sage bottle later!

Still haven't done "it" - last resort - I can't think of anything more disgusting though! Anyway ladies, got to go -just thought I'd pop in to see how you're all doing and before it gets too hot.

Lua · 23/06/2005 09:23

Congratulations Red head mum and Wellcome Fox!
Thanks for letting us know MLL.

Charley, trib, coop.... Any news?????!

My sympathies to all still pregg in this heat! Have to say that is still hard with the "hot water bottle" in the lap or in the breast. But they do go down for a minute or so every now and then... ... it won't be long now!

mogwai · 23/06/2005 09:30

and presumably someone else gets a turn of having the hot water bottle on their lap!

Would love to plonk this belly and these strangely hot hands on someone else for a few hours so I can go to the gym

LipstickMum · 23/06/2005 09:35

Morning all

Congratulations RHM, welcome Fox, what a cool name

Yup Mog, today is our oficial day. All downhill, avoiding the phone and threatened inductions from now on

Can't wait to hear from the others!

I have heard from somebody, but think they may well want to post their own news! Sorry to be a tease!

Another hot day, my dd off to her Gma and I have the day to look for my bursing bras which I had at some stage and now they are missing

welshmum · 23/06/2005 10:44

Hello Junies who are still 'busting out all over' as the old show tune goes.
Franni congrats to you and I love that name - did you get it from the JD Salinger book? Must have - with your MN ID being Franny too....
Great name for your ds too RHM - I love these different names - big congrats to your family.
Hope the heat isn't too dreadful for all the mums in waiting - thinking of you and wishing you all the very best as the end of the month approaches.
Welshie xxx

Ok so I just called my sister (you may remember she is the living image of Vicky Pollard). She's 18 today - happens to be my due date - spooky.

Anyway, turns out her GP has put her on antibiotics for suspected glandular fever.

She thinks she's coming to visit the baby as soon as it's born, I dont think this is a good idea. She lives with my mother. I think they are both a risk of infection (what a great excuse for them to give us the breathing space I desperately want from them....thankyou god).

Anyone agree? Is it contagious? Is my mother a risk? How long till they can visit? (I'm thinking at least 15 years )

really Lynnie?

That gives me time to leave the country. Have phoned NHS direct but they weren't much help tbh.

the lord works in mysterious ways

Lua · 23/06/2005 11:59

Loppy, have you been talking with any gnomes recently?

Lua · 23/06/2005 12:00

oops, that should have been Lippy! sorry !

LipstickMum · 23/06/2005 13:06

Gnomes???

mogwai · 23/06/2005 13:18

oooh I've hd a bit of a jippy tummy. And I feel like I'm getting my period.

Now baby knows strange grandma can't visit for fifty year incubation period of Glandular fever, she's FINALLY seen the exit signs lit up?????

I hope so.

Lua · 23/06/2005 13:26

Lippy, I was trying to guess which mum you have received news from...

LipstickMum · 23/06/2005 13:59

Ah!

tribpot · 23/06/2005 14:13

Afternoon ladies!

Just a flying visit to report that Tobias John arrived yesterday morning at 0157 after I was induced on Tuesday at 2 p.m. (obviously he wanted me to labour for almost exactly 12 hours, gee thanks). We are all doing brilliantly, he weighed in at a somewhat staggering 8lb 13.5ozs, which I think makes him the heaviest baby so far - with apols to the recent mums, I haven't trawled back through the thread yet to update the stats.

However, granny arrives this afternoon to take over from a frankly exhausted dh, so hopefully I will have time to do a short update this evening. Ironically despite a (in my view anyway) fairly horrific labour, dh is in much worse shape than I am. I feel fine except rather bruised and battered, not to mention stitched from here to kingdom come. Toby had his first good feed this morning and has been completely zonked out ever since, although this excessive heat may also have something to do with it.

Hope all are well, take care. xxx

mrsflowerpot · 23/06/2005 14:25

Oh congratulations Trib and Redheadmum! and welcome to Toby and Fox (very cool name), so pleased for you all.

Not , no no no, not at all.

Cooperoo · 23/06/2005 14:25

Hello ladies,
Really quick post to let you know that Harriet Rose arrived yesterday at 1633 (Cyprus time) weighing 8lb 6oz. A girl, now that was a . She has not stopped feeding and looks just like her big sister. We are totally in love and dd1 (!) is totally enamoured too. I stayed in the hospital last night in my single ensuite room lol and came home this afternoon. I feel like the luckiest person alive now I home with DH and my two gorgeous girls. .
Huge congratulations to Bubb and Franni too. Will catch up properly later......I hope. Hope you are all well.

Cooperoo · 23/06/2005 14:27

Congratulations Trib and Red too. How exciting!!

mrsflowerpot · 23/06/2005 14:47

Coop - congratulations, so pleased Harriet is here safely and glad you're home already.
