CONGRATULATIONS UKI!! Well done you for getting Cooper (great name) out by yourself after all that You must have been exhausted!

Pink - How's it going? Is he moving? They do say that they stop moving just before birth, but it's best to be sure. Have you seen the mw yet?

Lippy - I'm very jealous of your fuzz-freeness. As I'm determined to not be overgrown when I go into hospital, I keep having to contort myself in the shower with a Bic and still miss patches. I bought a bikini line rechargeable jobby (not cheap) but it's utter sh*te. I've put "Riders on the Storm and "Ocean" on Pod's playlist I have to go an buy an iPod charger today - you've got one haven't you? Did it come in the box? I wonder if I should try to find the box - all we have is a firewire adapter so we have to charge it through the laptop. Which I don't have. iPod's running out of juice.... I need it for the labour. I've put a load of Napalm Death on it for the transitional phase - I'm going to be popular aren't I?? Need the adrenaline though

Nogger - surely it's far too soon to have your life back??

mogwai · 15/06/2005 11:32

Good Morning...and what a very good morning it is

the concert was wonderful - I bopped my socks off! And no sign of labour!

Unfortunately I didn't get off with Bono. I was just too tired and had to fight him off and be wheeled away on my porter's trolley. It was difficult - he looked so sexy in those trews!

Poncey fruity curry? I'll have you know I'm also in the north! We just have a top chippy near us!!!! It was lovely, btw!

mrsflowerpot · 15/06/2005 11:34

Yay, congratulations Uki! And good luck Pink, won't be long now...

Well I'm due today - really didn't think I'd still be pregnant by now as I was so sure I'd be booked in for a c-section last week, so I'm trying to look on this as bonus time to try to coast a bit. Think I will hole up in the house as I am getting a bit tired of people saying 'haven't you had that baby yet?' every time I set foot outside. And the conversation with the mum at nursery (who I hardly know btw) this morning about how I should have sex because it worked for her was a bit much for 8.45am. DH is now reluctant to do the nursery pick up in case he gets surrounded by women demanding he shag me to put me out of my misery .

bubbaloo · 15/06/2005 12:23

mogwai-glad you enjoyed the concert last night and pleased it didnt trigger anything off(in the labour sense ogf the word)!!

charley-ive also just charged my mp3 player ready for hospital and filled it jammed packed with Queen and Freddie tracks.let's hope he doesnt come out singing "i want to break free"!!
ive also charged up some batteries for a fan im taking in with me.this weekend is meant to be really hot,so thought it would be a good idea.

nogger-you make it all sound so easy and i cant believe your'e alreday back into your jeans9had a peek on the "other side"!!!

lippy-how wonderful to be fuzz free.i tried trimming myself in the shower but i've given up as i cant see what im doing.oh well...im sure i'll have more embarrassing things to worry about and im sure they've seen worse.

mrsf-LOL at your dh.that is so funny.

LipstickMum · 15/06/2005 13:34

I wonder how Pink is getting on???!!!

Mog, glad you enjoyed the gig, poor Bono, I hope he'll get over missing out

It is great to be fuzz free!! Obviously, I can't see anything down there, but I am assured it's all very trim Charley, I admire you for your attempts with a razor!!!! I never shave my legs or bikini, let alone when I'm doing it mostly by touch

Time for a big sandwich, see you all later!

Lua · 15/06/2005 14:06

Congratulations to Uki, Jennywren and Linny. Sending good vibes for Jessica's foot!
Good luck to Pink and Jonah!

What's up with so many of us having babies on or around our anniversaries? DS came on mine, and I think tea's came on hers! Strange coincidence!

PinkArjuna · 15/06/2005 14:17

well as you can see I'm still sitting around I went to the midwife this morning and his heart is still beating normally. However the thing seems to be that he is only 2/3 engaged. it doesn't look like he is going to come at all. I'm a bit annoyed actually - I wouldn't have minded him being alot later but something actually happening. But sitting around now with absolutely no waters left (my stomach looks so much smaller now) I have to think that it isn't a good thing. I hope I don't get an infection in the mean time. Waiting until 8.30 tomorrow morning to phone up seems a bit long to me when everything went at 5 pm yesterday.

Well glad you are fuzz free lippy - I must confess I am far too lazy - poor midwives I can't see either.

Hope everyone is alright.

PinkArjuna · 15/06/2005 14:19

ps - thanks for all the good wishes everyone. I wish bubba would take notice and move down a bit but he doesn't seem to be interested...

bubbaloo · 15/06/2005 14:25

pink-i really feel for you.
it's bad enough waiting for something to happen,so it must be even worse when you've already made a start and now nothing!
hopefully something will happen for you soon-im sure if the midwifes were really concerned about infection, they wouldn't have sent you home, telling you to phone up tomorrow-must be really frustrating though.

wonder where coop is today-it's not like her not to post!

Lua · 15/06/2005 14:47

Pink - don't worry about it! The current recommendations in not to interfere for 72 hours after waters broke. As long as you are not having internal examinations or baths you should have no risk of infection. If you want to be sure just take yout temp. every 2 hours.
You'll be fine!

katzguk · 15/06/2005 15:26

pink - the same thing happened to me with dd1. my waters broke and they left me for 2/3 days to see if things would happen normally but they didn't. don't worry about baby, you continue to make amniotic fluid even after the waters are gone so he safe inside you. the only downside is everytime you stand up you leak!!! i wore ST's to catch it. so my waters went at about 1am on the tues and was induced (drip only) on the thurs at 11.30am. i have to say it ended up being such a calm labour because i knew i was going in to have a baby. i would recommend getting lots of sleep. the actual labour was fine too, 4.5 hours from drip starting to dd1 coming out. i managed with TENS AND A BIT OF GAS AND AIR the lack of waters can help to thin your cervix.

went bra shopping yesterday and alll i will say is 36J!!!!!!!!!!!!

apologises for typos - breastfeeding

well

Hi all,
Still here at the mo. Have been off line all day just in case anyone tried to call to tell me good news about the clinic, but no one has . It is now 5.30pm here so I guess they won't either. The midwives are only on bleepers too so I don't feel I can call them now today to find out unless I am in labour. So fingers crossed I will last till tomorrow morning. I have felt funny today...nothing I can put my finger on so prob just nerves. I never thought I would be hoping for baby not to arrive at this point lol.
Trib - Meant to say earlier so glad all is OK with your baby, it is a scare when they don't move isn't it.
Pink - Really hope things are happening for you. If not tomorrow the end will be in sight. Good Luck.
My friend is booked in for her section at 8am tomorrow morning which makes me think if they let us have the clinic it is go from 7 am, but no one has let us know. I hope everything is ok or her op will be cancelled again and her twins are very big and need to be born. She will be rescheduled for Limassol General which will mean a general rather than an epidural which would be a shame and not as nice a place to stay as the 'private' clinic of course.
Right off for feet up again. I have been transfixed by my feet and ankles today as they are the normal size with all this relaxing and look so slim and bony .
Take care all.
P.S. I am kinda natural down below too as I can't see either.....Am of you Lippy.

megi · 15/06/2005 15:45

Baby boy Louis was born at 11.57 on Monday 13th June! Had a four hour labour - which is longer than my first labour! He weighed 7lb 5oz. Just had gas and air (Mostly air - I pulled the mouth-piece off the tube and was just biting down on it most of the time!!!) - cos was too quick for any other pain releif! - We are all at home now - we are absolutely smitten! He is gorgeous. Will post more details later - good luck to everyone else - have skimmed the thread since my last post!

bubbaloo · 15/06/2005 15:48

CONGRATULATIONS megi on the speedy birth of louis.

lovely name btw-it was our 2nd choice!!

Franniban · 15/06/2005 16:10

Congratulations to Megi and family and Uki and family. Well done
Pink, try not to get too down, same thing happened to me with ds. You are less likely to catch an infection at home than you are anywhere else, especially a hospital. Katz is right, try and get as much sleep as poss. He will come soon.
Lol at all this talk of fuzz free! Last time I was determined to be ff and attempted waxing myself, you can imagine the mess! This time I've gone for the imac way, poor dh, made him spray me, whilst spread eagle on the bed trying not to get the filthy stuff all over me!
Still he was there at the birth of dh, so there's nothing he aint seen, if you know what I mean?!
Mog, so glad you enjoyed the gig, have this image of you on sack trolley!
Hi Lynny, good vibes for JL's little footsie. X
Coop, how frustrating not hear anything, fingers crossed that you last until tomorrow.
LOL re your hd mrs fp!
Must go down the road to Mothercare, bought ds sandles a month ago size 4, and noticed that his big toe nails were looking broken last night, got them measured this morning and he's size 5.5! Poor critter, what kind of mother am I?!
Been really dreary down here today, can't beleive the predicted temperatures for the weekend, fans at the ready girls.
See you later X

LipstickMum · 15/06/2005 16:27

Pink! How frustrating!! I had a long time contracting before dd was born, it was all very boring. But, in 1 or 2 days it will all be over, however he ends up coming out!!

Congratulations to Megi and baby Louis!!!

My cleaner came today for the 2nd time, now she knows the house she is very speedy and did twice as much as last time. I think I am in love

Gonna listen to some Doors as I vacuum clean the carpet

PinkArjuna · 15/06/2005 17:30

Congratulations Megi glad it was so quick.

Well I have done my car tax now. You know I hate people so much I had to que behind 16 people in the post office and not one of them said 'go before me' I was hanging off the flimsy tape railings dying to sit down. People are so selfish. I had an arguement with the check out woman at the counter because she moanen about my insurence having a typo and I screamed that my baby was due and I'm not leaving without my car tax after queing so long in this condition she just gave me the car tax disk and let me go on my way.

Well Coop I thought you were off delivering the baby!

Bloody Hell Katz - your boozies are even bigger than mine I didn't think it was possible! Though mine might get that big afterwards I hate the Maternity shops - any woman with an ample sized pair of boobs can't buy their tiny maternity bra's that only go up to the smaller sizes. You'd think by now with most women averaging a C before hand and going up a few sizes would tell the idots that most people will need at least the last size in their ranges but I guess its a way the 'specialist' companies make there money off of all the big boobed women

Well nothing is happening and I'm off to bed again. Hope everyone is ok. I'm not sure if I'll come on later as I'm tired and I have to be up early to call the hospital and things.

Take care

tribpot · 15/06/2005 19:03

congratulations to Megi and yet another stats update in honour of Louis' arrival. Is he a Loo-ey or a Lew-is?

Pink, sorry you are still with us It must be most irritating waiting for things to kick off now, best of luck for tomorrow morning. I am absolutely amazed that no-one let you go to the front of the queue in the post office. I was all ready to ask to jump the queue when I saw someone going in ahead of me this afternoon (you couldn't get 16 people in our post office anyway) but she had finished by the time I managed to lumber to the door.

Lippy - why are you hoovering after the cleaner's been? Mine did a 4 hour blitz today and it was fab. For added value she had all her kids in the hospital where I will be going so could provide valuable tips and hints as well, fantastic. She loves ironing, the madwoman, so I gave her my ironing pile (whilst not admitting it has been in the living room awaiting my attention for literally months and months).

Coop - fingers and toes all crossed for you and the clinic at this stage.

Mog - lots of sympathy to Bono, perhaps he will have more luck next time you see him in concert

MrsF - LOL at your dh's predicament, one would never expect such things in the playground!

Hope all's going well for Jonah.

LipstickMum · 15/06/2005 21:37

Trib, I know, I sound like a total freak now !!! I was hoovering the basement, the cleaner didn't go there as it is still chock full of our stuff from when we slept down there, so needs a good tidy before you can actually clean anything. She did the rest of the house from the loft down to the ground floor. Once it's all sorted down there, rest assured, she will be cleaning in there too

Pink, glad you got your tax disc. What are you gonna do when you're not "about to drop pregnant woman don't mess with me " ?? Can't wait to hear about the arrival of your litle lad very soon !!!

Night all!

teabelly · 15/06/2005 22:55

Evening all,

Arrrhhh I just can't seem to get on line these days...very frustrating when I want to try and keep up with you all

CONGRATULATIONS to Lynny, JennyWren, Uki and Megi on the births of Jessica, Megan, Cooper and Louis...wow so many in just a few days

Lynny, not sure if it's the same condition, but my friend whose babe came in January was also stuck in the womb and her foot was 'stuck' in an upright bent back position...she required physio, and open footed babygros...all's fine now and she's now signed off with a beautiful perfect set of feet now, so sending good luck vibes that Jessica will only need physio too

Pink - sending good luck vibes to you too...my waters went a while before my ds came, it's quite normal, and things will happen soon...at least you were trailing yours behind you in the street...I was messing up the floors in Morrissons!!

Welshie - you've shattered my image of Mr Ecclestone now! and he seemed such a nice fellow!!!

Jonah - Happy anniversary! as Lua says it's amazing how these babies want to join in our celebrations

Mrs F - he he he at the other mothers coercing your dh into shagging you...had me in stitches!

Well we have ds's 3rd birthday tomorrow so he'll finally get his little ride on motorbike and his blue dinosaur - hurrah! It may please him more than his new sister, who's suddenly not as wonderful as he had first thought since he woke up this morning to climb into our bed and discovered an interloper already there

...uh oh can hear the dulcet tones of a dd starting to stir so will love and leave you...I'm sure by the time I get to log on again there'll be a few more new arrivals, so GOOD LUCK to anyone whose little bundle arrives in the next day or so, and catch you soon...x

gwenynbee · 16/06/2005 01:37

Morning all....couldn't sleep so I thought I'd pop in to see if there were any new arrivals. Congratulations to you all!!! Haven't been in since the weekend - been busy nesting and celebrating my b'day. Been rather daring - had 2 white wine spritzers, and a madras to try and get things going - even plied dp with booze to see if he was up for "it" - no such luck! TMI!? LOL!!

Saw the MW today - was really surprised that I was "still here" only 9 days to go until the EDD, and 19 max!!

Really bored now, there's only so much day time tv that I can stomach. Oh well at least the end is getting closer... Good luck to all the ladies "in waiting" out there!!

Cooperoo · 16/06/2005 05:31

Morning all
CONGRATULATONS Megi!! So glad to hear of the safe arrival of little Louis at last. And 7lb 5 is not small!!!!! All that worry for you grrrr.
Well I am still here. My computer keeps crashing which is why my posts have got a bit short - sorry.
Pink - Sending you good vibes today. Hope everything goes smoothly for you.
I hope Jonah has her baby by now too.
I woke up this morning in a right panic that the baby wasn't moving (of course I hadn't noticed any movements as had been awake all of about 3 seconds) and feeling dreadfull that I have been hoping that it wouldn't arrive for the past three days . Got up and made DH talk to it and poked it a bit and sure enough woke it up and it started wiggling. I think this is my first ultra paranoid moment about the baby and it is not nice. I have spent the whole pregnancy worrying about me and my birth and feel a bit crappy this morning as really I just want a healthy baby of course. Stupid.
To those of you who have had real worries (Lua, Megi, Lynny etc) I don't know how how you have got through so well. I do admire you.
Anyway, signing off for now. Will be chasing my midwives in half an hour so will have a shower and get ready in the meantime.
Have good days all.
P.S. Uki - I can't believe I didn't comment before on just what a cool name you have chosen .

charleypops · 16/06/2005 09:28

Morning!

CONGRATULATIONS MEGI!! Lol at you and your "air"!

How you doing Pink?

Jonah?

Coop - sorry you're feeling fed up and had that movement scare earlier. Have you had any news about the clinic??

Mog - can't believe you were boogying in your condition! Glad you had a fab time, I'm sure your bump enjoyed it too! Where are you oop north?

Tea - give your gorgeous ds a birthday hair scruff from me! I want to see a piccie of this infamous blue dinosaur when it finally arrives! he's been wanting one for what must seem like a lifetime to him!

It's my due day today - I can't believe I've reached it! Got my 40 week appt at the mw tomorrow. I don't have to let her examine me internally do I? I really don't want her breaking my waters before they're ready.

Ooh - I wonder who's going to hatch today - it's so exciting!

PinkArjuna · 16/06/2005 09:48

Thanks for the good luck vibes

As you can see I am still sitting at home waiting on the midwife to ring me back. I rung over an hour ago but they are busy I haven't had so much as a tummy ache he is obviously not coming and the delivery suite is pissing me off. Well the delivery suite was empty when I went there the other day but they must have a rash of people now that they can't ring back in over and hour. I rung them again incase my message got mixed up but apprently they are 'on to it' Oh well...

Hope everyone is alright and good luck if I'm not on for a while.

PinkArjuna · 16/06/2005 09:53
