Lynny, one stats update just for you Pleased to hear that you are all well and sorry about Jessica's little foot. Hopefully it can be corrected. Glad Leona is enjoying the new arrival too.

Pink - best of luck to you, hope all goes well.

bubbaloo · 14/06/2005 19:39

lynny-glad to hear your'e doing well and enjoying your new bundle.
sorry to hear of jessica's foot-hopefully they'll be able to sort it out with no long term effects.
how sweet of leona and lee-they sound so happy!!!

LipstickMum · 14/06/2005 19:50

Grrrrrr lots of posts since I last read!!!

Good luck Pink!!!

charleypops · 14/06/2005 20:22

Hi Lynny! Lovely to hear from you. You all sound so loved up with Jessica Lily (what a gorgeous name!)
I dread to think what your birth experience was like, but would still like to hear it when you are good and ready - like when Jessica's having her own baby from the sounds of it! Glad you had the forsesight to get a private room - it must have made a bit of a difference. Think we're going to get one too... Seriously though, if you're at all traumatised by the birth, you should speak to your consultant and get some counselling. There are some women on here that have carried issues round with them for years after a horrible birth and post-birth counselling is, I understand, fairly common.
I'm sure Jessica's foot will be just fine - it's amazing what surgery can do these days, especially in little babies. There's a little girl on our road who was born with two club feet, had an op or two - she's about 6 or 7 now and running around and walking completely normally - and her feet look totally ordinary in sandals. Also dp's niece had really bowed legs until she was about 2 and a half - everyone thought she was going to have to have surgery etc, but they straightened out completely.
So glad you're feeling better - are you still sleeping downstairs?

Eurrgh - Charley's just slobbered so much on my knee it's oozing down the inside of my trousers (I'm eating a tiny bit of cheese)

charleypops · 14/06/2005 20:25

Oh, if anyone's after baby swim pants, these Splash About Swim Nappies are supposed to be the biz and you get 10% discount on this site as an MN member.

PinkArjuna · 14/06/2005 20:56

Lynny - I hope her foot is ok asap.

Not much happening here. I'm glad I was wearing black Jersey trews as you couldn't see the waters on them - though they dribbling along the street behind me Well at the hospital they said it was all fine and I was having contractions according to the machine but I can't feel anything at all. I'm home now, Dad happened to be visiting and gave me a lift there and back. I put the tens machine on but I can't feel these 'supposed' contractions but I thought it couldn't hurt encase I can feel them at some time in the future. Dunno - haven't finished my book so I'm a bit miffed. well I'll keep you up dated.

Hope everyone is ok

charleypops · 14/06/2005 21:02

Pink - maybe you'll simply have a completely pain free birth! Did they tell you at what point to go in?
Lol at the "trail" from your trousers you poor thing! I'm sure no one noticed. There's not much dignity attached to this giving birth business is there? Think I might start wearing big pants and maternity pads...

charleypops · 14/06/2005 21:03

Is your dad staying with you? You're not on your own are you?

Mogwai, hope you had a fantastic time with Bono?s leather trousers.

Charley, that?s terrible about your front wheel nuts. That would send me into a consumer rights frenzy!! You could have been seriously injured. Luckily it was a short journey but still that?s awful. I hope you?re making as much of a fuss over Charley as I am over Sophie. Poor lamb isn?t going to know what?s hit her world of calm tranquility

Pink, best of luck!!!! Hope it?s going to be a pain free birth.

Lynny, glad you are so much better and that Lee and Leona are sharing this with you. Thinking good vibes, as requested for Jessica?s foot.

Well, DH and I are chilling out together. It?s a v. odd feeling, knowing that we?re off to hospital tomorrow am and by this time tomorrow, I should have a baby. We?ve just bought a camcorder and we?ve both recorded a short message on it for the bump, so he/she can hopefully look back on it in years to come. A little sentimental of us I know, but I think I would regret it if I hadn?t have done it. It?s also our 8 year anniversary today, so hopefully I?m going to be able to give DH the best anniversary present ever. G-d, sorry everyone, I?m feeling quite emotional here, so I?m spouting sentimental nonsense. Big apologies. Keep all your Junies fingers crossed for me that it?s a, quick and b, painless. Speak to you all soon??..

bubbaloo · 14/06/2005 21:13

pink-didnt expect to see you back on mn so quick.thought they'd keep you in.when have you to go back in?

charley-thanks for the swim nappy link.

bubbaloo · 14/06/2005 21:21

jonah-good luck again for tomorrow and happy anniversary.it's also our 8th anniversary next week but i'm hoping i'll have the baby by then.
glad your'e making a fuss of sophie.we had to take jasmine(our youngest!)to the vets last week and were told she's suffering from a type of depression, and all because she knows the babys on his way!!!

it's amazing what they can sense.

charleypops · 14/06/2005 22:02

KVG - Hi! Re John Lydon I was only little at the time! I also fancied Dave Vanian.... i'm very of your Betty's teas!

Jonah - I so love my doggie at the moment - he's getting loads of fuss, but I really miss being able to take him out on an afternoon - dp's not working at the moment though so he's doing it. Our furry friends are certainly going to have their cute little noses pushed out of joint aren't they? Loads and loads of luck for tomorrow! And congratulations on your anniversary! x

bubbs - that's amazing about your cat being depressed She's obviously seriously spoilt

PinkArjuna · 14/06/2005 22:24

I'm a bit bored really - nothing seems to be happening. I only have to go back in if obviously things get to five minutes apart and lasting 60 seconds. Oh or if nothing happens until Thursday I have to ring at 8.30am to go straight in for an induction if things haven't moved.

Maybe the tens machine is working. Not really sure. My friend has come over though we are trying to put together a standing fan.

Thanks for the good wishes

MrsWednesday · 14/06/2005 22:42

JonahB, all the very best of luck for tomorrow. It must be strange knowing exactly when it's going to happen, weird but very exciting. You are allowed to be sentimental! Have a lovely last evening just the three of you (you, DH and the cat )

Pink, fingers crossed things progress painlessly.

Lovely to see how loved up you are Lynny. I am sending lots of positive vibes for Jessica Lily's foot.

You lot can scrap over Jim Morrison if I can have Michael Hutchence....

Uki · 15/06/2005 02:03

Hello all, This is "Uki's" DH typing. Uki gave birth to a healthy Baby Boy named Cooper Norton. Cooper-first name, Norton-middle name. Norton's one of those handed down always been in the family names. Anyway, he arrived at 4:30am 14th June (oz time) Labout was I think 18 hours. Originally Uki had planned for a no intervention drug free birth but her blood pressure meant the complete opposite with her being induced, which meant longer labour, longer contractions and more painful. Half way through (about 4cm) it became unbearable (well it was unbearable long before that actually) but we opted for an epidural. We previously planned not to have one as they are scary, but it was the best thing Uki cpould of done in her situation. She went of complete misery to "I can't feel a thing". Pain did come back for a while but then went away again. Her incredible effort at pushing meant no forceps or suction was needed. Anyway, hopfully Uki will be able to post a message herself soon enough when she gets home.

Cooperoo · 15/06/2005 06:17

Just popping on to say
CONGRATULATIONS UKI!!!! Well done you. Can't wait to catch up when you are ready.
Pink - Any news??
Good Luck Jonah.
Hi Lynny - So good to hear from you. Healing vibes to the lovely Jessica.
Mog - How was the concert?
That is all as dd is demanding my attention. Fab lot of lovely posts to catch up on. Sorry my contribution is so lame.
I am desperately hoping that I don't go into labour today so I can almost guarantee I will .
Take care all. Hope to catch up more soon.

tribpot · 15/06/2005 08:11

Morning ladies. baby stats update

Uki - huge congratulations to you and dh. Welcome to the world little Cooper! I hope you aren't at all distressed by not having the style of birth you wanted. I think you 100% have to go with what feels right at the time.

Jonah - thinking about you today, hope it all goes well.

Pink - hope things are already going well for you! Does your doula not come to your house when you start labouring, or does she wait til you go to the hospital?

Coop - wine + lying down all day for you, think Roman orgy (without some of the - ahem - more stimulating activities).

Have a good day all!

PinkArjuna · 15/06/2005 09:11

Congratulations Uki!

Well nothing is happening here at all. There aren't any contractions whatsover apart from the pathetic ones that seem to show up on the monitors at the hospital. I ended up having to go in at 1.30am because he hadn't moved for hours and he was very lazy and didn't wake up for ages even with prodding so I have to ring up again today if he goes quiet again. I have a midwife appointment too. This baby isn't coming and its really pissing me off to be honest. I guess once there are no waters left it becomes a problem if they don't start to appear. I don't think its going to work out at all.

bubbaloo · 15/06/2005 09:27

CONGRATULATIONS to the uki family on the safe arrival of baby cooper.

looking forward to hearing more from you when you feel up to it.

LipstickMum · 15/06/2005 09:27

Morning all

Good luck Jonah! Don't envy you, being induced, but hope it goes well xxx

Congratulations Uki and dh, what a gorgeous name, very original and funky (we're still thinking )

Hey Pink!! Grrr what a pain the you aren't having/feeling contractions Did they tell you that you'll have to go in soon? Once the waters have broken I suppose the baby isn't 'protected' in the same way from germs and stuff. Be cool, it will happen, we're all here thinking of you and hoping for a speedy, problem-free birth!

Hiya Lynnny!! Great news about the arrival of 'JL' Sorry to hear about her foot, I hope it's sorted out swiftly - sending Junie, good, good, health vibes. Lots of love to you and your family!

It's raining here At the risk of sounding like my mother; at least the garden needs it!!

I am totally fuzz free The therapist came to my place and whipped everything away with hardly any pain at all! TMI alert!!! She is excellent and not afraid to get the bikini line just right!!!!

Yesterday, dp put all the catches and knobs on our newly fitted wardrobe and door unit, assembled the chest (gorgeous oak one from Habitat) then we moved back up into the loft room!!! It's fab! I have somewhere to put my knickers after 5 months!!! Now I'm doing nice nesty things, like polishing, not strenuous nesty things like scraping down skirting boards

In fact, apart from the blessed name situation, I would say I am almost ready to give birth Now, just watch this baby be 10 days late!!! hehe.

I might listen to some Doors today, all this talk about JM is making me feel like 'you know what' again!!

Lots of love to you all xxx

LipstickMum · 15/06/2005 09:28

Should read, "wardrobe and drawer unit"

Noggermum · 15/06/2005 10:02

Morning all, congratulations to the zillions of babies that have arrived since i last posted (about a week ago). The Junies are cracking on now! Hope everyone is well.

Quick gloat on my part - I had two kids tucked up in bed at 7.15 last night and felt like I had my life back! So far Isla has been good as gold until about 8pm when she has been screaming til 11 ish, so at long last am hoping that this has stopped. Possibly coincides with me now expressing some milk and topping her up when she seems fractious, which seems to have done the trick. I actually managed to eat dinner with DH last night! Hurrah!
