Oooh, exciting news Mcmudda! Don't leave it too long to ring the hospital, there have been a few quick ones on here Hope it all passes smoothly and painlessly!

Congratulations Scraggy, lovely name you've chosen. Looking forward to hearing how it all went.

Good to see you again Redheadmum, was wondering where you were. I did manage to have my homebirth in the end, although it wasn't quite the experience I'd anticipated - left it too long to phone the midwife, so they didn't make it, and DH was off getting towels when DS2 arrived into the world. It was all very quick and chaotic but funny and happy too.

Anyone heard from Charleypops lately? Or Lynny? Uki? I hope everything is ok and more babies are on the way...

JonahB, there's still plenty of time before you get induced, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed your hairy chimp (!) makes his or her arrival very soon. Come out June babies, your time is up...

gwenynbee · 11/06/2005 21:16

Still here ladies...... just had a kebab plastered in chilli sauce in an attempt to get things shifting down there washed down with some raspberry leaf tea (not good for hearburn - I would rather have had a pint of lager!!) Somethings shifted - but not the baby LOL (TMI?)

I have even tried to seduce dp - but he's having none of it unfortunately (for me not for him)! Will start chewing on the pineapple core later!

Congratulations to the new mom's in here!! I have 2 weeks left until EDD, but I am getting so impatient and everything is ready now! Somebody suggested that I start digging the garden - so that might be tomorrow's chore now that I finished painting the inside the airing cupboard!

Anyway ladies, good luck and god bless x x

berolina · 11/06/2005 22:03

WOW and CONGRATS Scraggy, Katz and Mrs W!!!! Good luck mcmudda!

Sorry for continued absence. Have been basically off MN since Mon getting bf-ing sorted out - well, working on it. Lippy, didn't mean to ignore your question as to how it's going - haven't been around! Anyway, we're not sorted yet but it seems to be starting to come together. Samuel is going on the breast more and more often, although he still has his 'moments', and getting more out. My milk supply seems fairly steady, though I would still like to boost it a bit (anyone got some Domperidone? Don't think you can get it here). Funnily enough, the improvement occurred when I got quite alarmed at how down I was getting about it and that it was even stopping me enjoying Samuel. I then thought 'as important as bf is, it isn't worth propelling myself into PND' and carried on trying, but with a more relaxed attitude. We've also started venturing out together - just brief car trips and walks - but that feels good too. It has been hard to adjust my very rosy pre-birth picture of bf just 'happening naturally' and getting my head round mixed feeding (however I am managing to reduce the formula) and how that makes me feel - but things are certainly better, dh and I are (generally!!!) more relaxed and - most importantly - Samuel is doing fine, hit the 3kg mark this week and is gaining away.

teabelly · 11/06/2005 22:43

Just popping in quickly to say managaed to post a pic of Amber on the yahoo site at last, so Annalise is no longer alone out there!

McMudda - woohoo - sounds like you will have number 2 in your arms before the weekend's out! Don't wait too long to go to the hospital though - we really have had alot of impatient little ones on this thread! LOL re Dr Who - dh and ds are mad Dr Who fans, so I know where your dh is coming from!!

Bero - so glad you're feeling more relaxed and the bf is coming along nicely...funnily enough I had the opposite of you, dd is real keen on the bf, it's me that's not! Was mixed feeding til thursday, but I'm completely on the formula now and feeling much happier...now if only I could stop dd licking her lips each time she's at boobie level!!

Good luck to anyone else about to hold their fab little bundles...will catch up again later, x

bubbaloo · 11/06/2005 23:32

teabelly-she's absolutely gorgeous!!!

fingers crossed for you mcmudda-hopefully there'll be a birth announcement shortly.

Cooperoo · 12/06/2005 07:25

Hi all
Congratulations to Scraggy!!! . Hope you are well.
Fingers crossed McMudda, hoping you will be posting soon with happy news. Sorry the consultant visit was so painful though. I think the worst bit about the day I went into labour was the midwife checking to see if my waters had broken. She was so rough it really hurt. I thought I can't say anything as she will laugh at me about how much real contractions hurt .
Mrs F - Hope baby will move on its own, but at least you have some idea of what will happen now. Lol about MIL's.
Pink - Don't panic about your car tax. You will get out and about with this baby to do it and we will try to remind you too.
Hi RHM
Well we made it to Limassol yesterday as I realised I hadn't bought a present for the lady looking after dd. Am getting her flowers anyway but wanted to hand something over too. We arrived home and we just pottering watching the tennis and stuff when there was the almighty sound of screeching brakes and two incredibly loud bangs so we ran to the window with another loud bang and a car was completely out of control ramming a parked car down the street and then they drove off!!! .
All the neighbours were in and we all ran outside and one of the men chased after the car and has blisters like you wouldn't believe on his feet (burnt fromt the road). Stupid to drive off on camp because you can't go anywhere. The neighbour rang the police and the gates were shut immediately and the car was found in the next road. The lady had driven home and called an ambulance..... Was all a bit of a shock and still didn't set my labour off! We had to shut off the road while we waited for the police and have to give statements some time next week. Was quite shocking for this little community. I think she must have been drinking and had apparently crashed into some barriers elsewhere on camp too. There must be a bigger picture to this though as it was 3 in the afternoon not the middle of the night IYKWIM. Anyway that filled a few hours.
Watched a programme called Generation Jedi last night with Dermot O'Leary which I enjoyed. I love Star Wars and my brother is an addict. His 30th b'day last month was in a Star Wars theme and I bought him a Mr Potato Head Darth Vader at his request lol.
If you have a smaller 'labour bag' don't forget the babies first vest/nappy and towels for you...It is difficult to cut down that much but I have managed to make a bit of a difference.
Right have great days all.

Cooperoo · 12/06/2005 07:27

Tea - Forgot to say how gorgeous little Amber is too.

welshmum · 12/06/2005 08:23

Morning all,
Mcmudda that sounds like a bit of a rough encounter - you'd think they'd be better at it as they have the same bits - hope you feel better now.
Bero - so glad things are coming together for you and Samuel on the bf front - you really deserve it - you've been so committed to it. Give it another week and I bet you'll be even more on track. Well done you.
All's pretty well here in the Welshie homestead. Have been having a fair few outings and gettng used to being 4 - even went to John Lewis yesterday which felt especially brave.
Have good days all.

tribpot · 12/06/2005 09:18

Ahhh, beautiful picture of little Amber, hope we will be seeing more of the Junie babies on there soon!

McMudda, best of luck to you, hope it's all starting and hope the midwives in hospital are a bit more sensitive to your SPD - I think labouring on your side is meant to be a good one?

Coop, much excitement for a Saturday afternoon, glad no-one was hurt.

Bero - good to hear from you, hope you can phase the formula out over time. Demand is what you need to increase supply! (Or so they say, anyway). Keep up the good work.

On a slightly different 'not complaining about the pain' note, I went to have my eyebrows waxed in the week and the woman actually asked me if I could cope with the pain. I pointed out that if I couldn't manage the 'pain' of eyebrow waxing (it really doesn't hurt) there wasn't much hope for me in the coming weeks Next time perhaps I will ask for an epidural or something, see what she says.

The heavens have just opened here, giving me an excuse not to do carrying boxes out to the garage for a while, hurrah! Hope you have a good Sunday all.

JonahB · 12/06/2005 10:52

Morning all,

McMudda, good luck!! I?m very that they move you forward after 2 days of being overdue. I have to wait for 10 days here. Hope it all goes painlessly and quickly?.

Berolina, glad to hear that the BF is getting easier with time.

Coop, all happening for you there, isn?t it? Ooh, the neighbours will be talking about that for weeks .

The only news from here is that we think we?ve found a new car for DH. I was beginning to think that we were just fussy b*ggers who expected too much for our money, but DH found one he liked last night. Now all I need to do is the HP check and haggle on the price. The funny thing is that of the 3 private sales we?ve been to look at, 2 of them were being sold by heavily pgt women. Is there something about new baby, new car???

Hope you all have a good Sunday?

Franniban · 12/06/2005 11:33

Morning girls,
Good luck McMudda, hope the babe comes quickly and painlessly, but not too quick that you can make it to the hospital!
Trip, lol at the eyebrow waxing!
Exciting stuff Coop!
Well not much happening here, had homemade curry last night, yummy, but no effect! Slept reasonably well last night but feel exhuasted today, funny that, sometimes your better off not sleeping well at all.
39 weeks today and crossing the days off now. Silly really, we've been pregnant for so long, but the last weeks feels like an eternity.
Can anyone tell me how to access the photos on Yahoo, I';ve got a log in but cann;t navigate?
Have a good day all, X

tribpot · 12/06/2005 12:04

Franni, you need to be signed in to Yahoo, otherwise the links on the left of the screen aren't active. Check right at the top of the screen, it should say "Welcome, [your yahoo name]" if you're signed in.

If you are, this link should work to take you to the photos.

Jonah, can't believe you are negotiating a car purchase at this stage. Hope you are getting dh to do all the paperwork for you!

bubbaloo · 12/06/2005 13:44

afternoon all,

coop-yesterdays events sound really scary, especially in the middle of the day.at least no-one was hurt, and if that didnt bring on labour, who knows.
i did start thinking about various smaller bags for hospital yesterday but ended up packing even more stuff into my suitcase instead.

trib-i tried waxing my legs once and only managed about an inch-it was soooo painfull.dont know how im going to manage at the hospital when i go into labour.i really am a coward!!

jonah-LOL at the car buying.we're also getting a a new car soon.dh is convinced we now need a 7 seater, even though there's only going to be 3 of us.he's got his eye on a zafira,as apparently it had a good write up by jeremy clarkson!!

hi franni-ive now decided to give up on curry.its not working working for me but then again everyone's different so who knows.

well i really thought i was going into labour earlier on today.i had a bit of an upset tummy yesterday and woke up with the most awful lower backache ever this morning.it was like i had been winded and so painfull that i very nearly phoned the hospital to ask their opinion!
i did though, manage to go back to bed for a couple of hours and when i woke up it had gone.now im really confused.wonder if its a sign or whether i just slept funny.did anyone else get bad backache just before the big event?
still got a very slight ache there now but nothing like earlier-it was really scary!!!

tribpot · 12/06/2005 13:51

Bubba, I think leg waxing is a lot more painful than eyebrow waxing, so fear not that you are a coward (As to waxing of "those special parts" I don't know how people can even contemplate it).

Sorry to hear about your backache, I've been having really bad backache for a while now - doesn't matter where I sleep or in what position But hopefully in your case it is the start of thing to come, fingers crossed for you!

Btw, checking out our Junie post-natal thread, we definitely need some more of the first-timers to deliver and/or get posting over there. It's all contentment about how much easier it is the second time around Well that's no use to us!

lummox · 12/06/2005 15:02

I'm a first timer posting on the post-natal thread and I can't begin to imagine having to deal with two.

One is very lovely though.

Hope all is good with everyone here.

Franniban · 12/06/2005 16:19

Thanks Trib, am logged into Yahoo but the link keeps coming up with an error message. V frustrating, I must be doing something wrong.
Bubb, that sounds promising re the back ache, hope its the start of things.
Just been for a walk up the woods, lovely it was, just about managed a mile.

Muddahubby · 12/06/2005 18:32

Hi all ... McMudda has produced us a lovely daughter, Elizabeth Grace. 8lb 7oz, at 12.25pm this afternoon after a relatively incident free labour! You'll probably hear more once one of us is awake enough to write about it!

Cooperoo · 12/06/2005 18:44

Yayay - Congratulations to you and your family McMudda. Another beautiful name and great weight (my dd was 8lb 7 ). Hope to hear from you in due course.

bubbaloo · 12/06/2005 19:25

woohoo- congratulations to the mcmudda family and welcome to baby elizabeth.

lovely names btw!!

mogwai · 12/06/2005 19:51

I know I don't post here often but I heed your call for more "first timers" experience and will dutifully tell you how it goes. I'm due in eight days time.

I am also going to a huge rock concert in two days and am trying not to get too excited in case the baby senses anything like adrenaline.

But GOD I'M EXCITED!!!!!! WOOOOOO

bubbaloo · 12/06/2005 19:58

OMG mogwai-a rock concert is very brave, right near your due date.mind you im 3 days late so far so you'll probably be ok.
who are you going to see?

mogwai · 12/06/2005 20:16

I'm going to see God...sorry....Bono. He's enough to makes anyone's cervix contract

bubbaloo · 12/06/2005 20:29

LOL!!

mogwai · 12/06/2005 20:34

Can't believe I wrote that!

We have contingency plans in place - the manager of the ASDA store opposite gave me a staff parking permit today (I kissed him!!) cos the public car parks are quite a walk from the stadium. And I'm a Sainsbury's girl

But he also told me that the police close the roads after the concert so we will be stuck in ASDA if anything happens. We could be stuck for about 2 hours.

I was a bit dubious at first but then I thought, hell, if the police close the roads, they can also escort us out of ASDA in the event of emergency, right??

mogwai · 12/06/2005 20:36

SO I'll be there with my TENS machine just in case.

There's no cameras allowed in, but with this ample cleavage I reckon I can get away with stuffing one between my boobs. Just DARE them to frisk me!!!!
