Oh meant to say CANY that the tents thing made me laugh , though can totally see how you would have exploded over it in the middle of the night. The sort of thing you'll laugh at in 10 years time...

hi diege - i ordered last boden bits have everything now

idreamofbeanie · 15/09/2009 10:43

Morning Diege - lots of the parks and gardens in York are close to cafe's and pubs so we could decamp if it started to rain but we would probably end up wasting food that way. There are small sheltered areas in Rowntree Park but not enough for us all to be comfortable - I can't think where else is covered but I'm walking into town later to see the midwife so I'll look out for somewhere that will be good for a picnic. The weather has been so good recently it would be a shame to miss out on a picnic if the weekend is sunny.

Diege · 15/09/2009 11:12

That sounds good IDOB! You're right, chances are the weather will be fine, so would be a shame to miss out on the fresh air, plus everything seems easier with a screaming baby if you're outdoors I'll see if I can find a forcast for weekend for york, just in case storms are forcast!
Hi BODEN! I'll believe your 'I have everything now' when I see it

bodenaddict · 15/09/2009 12:46

hey diege

hope all having a good day weather here rank wet & windy

IWroteOffLightningMcQueen · 15/09/2009 13:23

(Just for my own info, I have started writing this at 9.04am, know damn well it won't be finished in one go!)

Hellooooooooooooooooooooo

Oh my goodness, where to start? Haven't obviously caught up completely (my last post was in Auguest and ) have just read the last few days worth, so apologies in advance of anything missed! OK here goes....

Firstly, HUGE congratulations to Kooky and family I was really pleased to read you'd all made it home. Hope you have all started to settle in xx

STT, really sorry you are having such a tough time of it. There is nothing you have 'failed' at, most people would call on friends/family/childminders by this point. Let's hope he doesn't hang on till the last like J did (though actually, I kind of miss the whole labour thread debacle, MN at it's finest! - maybe it's time for another one!! )

Kay, did I pick up on you passing your theory? Well done!! You're half way there!! (I'm driving tonight, am a bit nervous, he said last week he'll be looking at putting me in for my test after today's lesson, kind of feeling the pressure a bit now)

IDOB, you just make sure you keep reminding him that you are very heavily pregnant!! Stick to your guns and make the most of this calm before the storm! Hope you're not feeling too big and uncomfortable.

Glask, have you tested yet? Have ya, have ya, have ya? Seriously, fingers crossed you get the result you want.

Tink, I am starting to wonder how you look after 2 kids, do a bloody good job of keeping up to date on MN, and fit in all that shopping. Do you have a machine that crams in an extra hour or two a day?

Hope the weather holds for the weekend for everyone in York, will keep my fingers crossed Am sure you'll all have a lovely time

Sorry if I've missed anything, or maybe I should say sorry for all I've missed, because I am sure I have.

Have been rushed off my little toes here, don't even know where to start to explain all that's happened. Our house sale is still going through, survey took place last week so waiting on results (though the bloke that did it went into the EA apparently after the survey and they've told us that it is basically sailing through )

We found a house to move to, not sure if I'd mentioned it or not, it was a barn conversion, absolutely beautiful, didn't quite tick everything we wanted but the big plus point was being able to keep DS1 at his school, we paid the LA fees, they did all the checks, Thursday last week we were expecting a phone from them to say the checks and references had all gone through fine and to come and pay the deposit, didn't hear anything, Friday LA said the landlord was a bit worried about the kids being there, (it's a massive 4 bed house, where you'd expect to find kids! so we were a bit ) All weekend we had to wait for him to make up his mind and then yesterday we were told he'd found a private tentent to go in it. Am a bit pissed off, he'd obviously had this tentent approach him towards the end of last week, tentent goes for a look round over the weekend, agrees to have it, landlord get's the whole rent instead of having to pay a percentage to the LA , oh and we lost the LA referencing charges because they had actually done them

But, all is not lost, we're off to see one tomorrow night, t'is even bigger and at least on paper seems to tick more boxes than the conversion did, big down side is DS1 would have to change schools, but we knew that was very probable from the outset.

What else has happened? First week back at school, kids all have colds, have found 3 nits on DS1 on different days (I have taken to combing his hair every afternoon when he get's in now! They must be bloody rife up at the school) I had my hair dyed at the weekend, for the first time in years, still keep catching glimpes of myself in the mirror or a reflection off something and thinking "what the bloody hell? Oh yes, I dyed my hair" , erm... what else.... oh oh oh, we won the lottery at the weekend as well, 4 numbers £87, except we actually got 4 numbers and the bonus ball, am still cross about that, one more sodding number was all we needed!

Am all caught up in packing now, although we don't know where we'll be going yet, the couple that are buying the house are coming back again on Thursday because they want another nose have more questions That is the third time now, is that not starting to take the piss a little? It's very difficult to make the house look anywhere near good with boxes everywhere, and we've bought the stuff back from storage, M's room is unrecognisable, it's just boxes everywhere. In fact the whole house is starting to resemble T K Max, just piles of stuff everywhere, stuff that needs boxing up, stuff that needs chucking in the bin, stuff to go to the tip, stuff to go to charity, stuff we need to keep out separate from everything else..... the list goes on.

Have I made a respectably long enough post for the time I've been AWOL? Can't think of anything else to moan about tell you all so it'll have to do!

Will try and get back before October! Have a lovely time in York everyone xx

IWroteOffLightningMcQueen · 15/09/2009 13:25

OMG, I was actually kidding about it having to be long enough, think that is deffo my record! Very sorry

IWroteOffLightningMcQueen · 15/09/2009 13:28

And "tentent"? Three times? I should learn to proof read!

cantmummyhaveabreak · 15/09/2009 14:14

well.....................

BFN!! Wuhoo- however still no sign of AF and feeling a bit tender on my lower tummy area, dont normally get pains like this at the time of the month, but hoping it's just me being extra alert and just feeling Af making her way!! Fingers crossed anyway!!

Kayzr · 15/09/2009 14:15

Ha Cant. Ignore the last bit of my text. I really should refresh!!

essenceofSES · 15/09/2009 15:22

Can't - phew!!! Hope AF shows up as extra reassurance soon.

Lightning - good to hear from you. Rubbish about the house you were hoping for but hope this new one is even better and works out.
Congrats on lottery win too!

DS is still struggling with his teeth/gums. The teething gel helps a little bit and I've also bought him a "Sophie la giraffe" as recommended by a friend. It arrived this morning and he's currently sitting in his bouncy chair playing with it. Seems to be distracting him at the moment.

Right, I must go and do something a bit more constructive whilst he's settled...

bodenaddict · 15/09/2009 15:30

hi nat - you have been busy
shame about house good luck with viewing other house & great news about lottery

i am not sure how i mangae either will be 8 weeks off for hols by the time dd1 starts school on thursday

cant bet u r relieved - doing an af dance for u as we speak

Diege · 15/09/2009 16:43

Phew that is a relief CANT! I have been worrying about you all morning. I'll bring along my spare test on Saturday, just incase you get to worrying again . I'm sure af will have appeared by then though

NAT, great to hear from you! Sounds very stressful this house business, though at least you have the sale on your own sorted. Our sellers also kept on coming back for a nosy, even when sale was agreed - bit disconcerting, though I guess they just want to get things straight in their minds for furniture etc. Really hope this new house for you comes off! Fingers crossed our move is progressing, slowly but steadily, and we will be in end of October. Really can;t get too excited just yet!
Hi SES - toy sounds good; anything that keeps them amused and distracted from the teething! Really looking forward to seeing O on Sat
HV just been round to do edinburgh scale, and to weight J. He's 14ib 15 oz, so is following 75% percentile and doing well. She was concerned about the reflux (it was esp bad this afternoon) and has suggested gaviscon, but as he's not bothered by it, and is putting on weight nicely, I'm not too bothered. He is showing signs of being ready for weening though, and she suggests trying to hold out for another few weeks (when he'll be 16 weeks). Happy to go with that I think.
Right, better get him up from nap. He screamed through lunchnap (in a cafe!) so extra tired now. Hope he doesn't show me up on Saturday!

cantmummyhaveabreak · 15/09/2009 17:31

Wow Diege- J is bigger than R!!!! she's going to be the smallest there on saturday despite being one of the oldest!!

Diege · 15/09/2009 17:42

Will be good to see R CANT - will be quite bizarre if J looks bigger, what with him being inside me last time I saw R!

cantmummyhaveabreak · 15/09/2009 17:53

well R isn't even 13lb's yet!! She was about 7lb-ish when you saw her last wasn't she? It was may that we last met too, she would have been about 4mths old then. actually just looked in her red book and she was 6lb 12oz a few days before york last time.

She's only just going into her 3-6 clothing this week!! Think there will only be Kayz DS and MMM's DS that will be older than her, and she'll be the only girl too!!

GruffaloSoldier · 15/09/2009 19:59

Evening everyone!

STT - so glad that you are seeing improvements with DS! Hope your DH follows suit...!

IDOB - hope you told DH how it is!grrr!

Cant - phew! good on the BFN. But...I seem to remember Ruby's BFP came a little later on than you thought it would - ie you got BFN first

Diege - I got some great clothes from H&M for GC too, including a scrummy coat

I cant say anything about you getting another pushchair - as I have 4!Ha!LOL at No.5 though!

Lightning - sorry for house - hope it is smooth from here on!

Boden - hooray for DD starting school. Hope it goes well.

Moosy - glad to see you back here! I had noticed you weren't around! Now..where the heck has Sorky gone??Tell her to get back to the wagon!

Kay - congrats on theory! well done you!

Ses - you have my sympathies on teeth - GC has been suffering for a couple of months now and no sign of any teeth poor little mite.

Hello to any lurkers/anyone I have missed!

Well its going good here for now
GC has been sleeping late the last few days, getting up between 8.30 and 9.30am everyone morning. I am loving the lie ins, will ejoy it while it lasts!Trouble is it means the routine is a bit upset during the day but just going with the flow at the mo

BLW is going well too. He hasn't swallowed an awful lot which is fine as hes only 5 months (TODAY!) He has had a chobble on dried apricot, banana, green bean, cucumber and broccoli. He really enjoys it and grins at me loads when he is doing it. He loves exploring it and tasting it. Love the faces he pulls with the veg! and the fruits he says "mmm mm mmm" LOL!

maxxymoosmummy · 16/09/2009 07:39

morning all, hows everyone today?
not staying too long as im taking my DS to a mother and baby group this morning but thought id jus see how everyone is.

all excited for the meet up on saturday still just not the early morning start and long train journey. but sure will be worth it
just hope DS behaves haha

cantmummyhaveabreak · 16/09/2009 07:42

GC- loving the word chobble!!

Have woken up and have been sick yet again.... stating to doubt yesterdays BFN, as had lots of dreaming and thoughts about VBAC and i 'feel' PG today IYGWIM....

I feel like shit, feel so bad on the DC's, feel bad on DH, bad on our families that helped us loads with DD2, and most of all feel shitty that i'm already feeling hatred for a baby that i dont even know if it exsists or not!!

Kayzr · 16/09/2009 08:04

Morning,

DS2 woke up at 4 this morning. I could not get back to sleep but eventually fell asleep at half 5. I now feel worse than I did when I was awake at 4!!

CANT, try not to worry too much. There isn't anything you can do about it until you know for certain.

I have more money now(Small scratchcard win) so not too bothered where we go. There is the slug and lettuceHere which is really nice.

I can't wait for Saturday!

Hope you are all well.

idreamofbeanie · 16/09/2009 08:44

Morning,

Cant - try not to worry until you know for sure. It's hard I know but think how annoyed you'll be if you go through all this stress for a virus.

I don't mind what we do in York, still haven't thought of anywhere we can picnic with a large covered area but weather looks okay for Sat so we could take a chance and dash to a pub if it rains (then again I don't have a long train journey or a LO to worry about).

I saw the midwife yesterday and the baby and I are both fine and healthy but she is still very high and not even starting to engage at 38+2 which the midwife was surprised about for a first baby. My mum was 3 weeks late with me so chances are this LO will be late too but I have another appointment at 40+4 and the midwife said we really need the baby to have moved down by then. So I need to spend the next few days bouncing on my birth ball, sitting on a chair the wrong way round, doing lots of walking and trying to convince the baby to move. Fingers crossed .

essenceofSES · 16/09/2009 08:47

Morning!

Can't - as Kay says do try not to worry (easier said than done!) It could be the dreams are echoing your worried rather than reality.

Kay - Slug and Lettuce looks like it could work.

Gruff - "chobble" definitely gets added to the wagon dictionary!

Diege - I think J is bigger than O too! 3 weeks ago O was 13lb 1oz. I'm going to get him weighed again tomorrow and am expecting him to do be somewhere just above 14lb (hopefully!)

Can't wait to meet you all and the babies! I guess MMM and I are the only ones that won't have met the rest of you!

Tonight I have my first night out!!
DH has agreed to look after O for 2.5hrs whilst I go for pizza with the girls Will be v strange to be apart from him but probably good for us both and good for DH especially with us being away in York from tomorrow until Sunday.

essenceofSES · 16/09/2009 08:49

Morning IDOB! Sorry x-posted!
Still time for movement so don't worry but get bouncing on that birth ball!!!

Kayzr · 16/09/2009 08:52

IDOB, DS1 didn't engage until 2 days before he was born.

!

Kayzr · 16/09/2009 08:56

What is with the random !
