Thought I'd start a new thread as No 3 is pretty long now! If anyone knows how to link between the 2 threads can you put one in - I'm not called Jellybrain by accident you know .

Had a job interview yesterday but, haven't heard anything back yet . I don't think my preparation was all that good and was pretty busy over the weekend with birthday party preparations and was consequently shattered.

OP posts:

Rochwen hope everything is ok hope to hear from you soon - you too Beachyhead hope.

i had my first parent craft class today, which was ok, unfortunately it was too hot and i just couldnt wait to get out, and i learned nothing new.

im really annoyed with that stats thread will try again when i find myself having a clam moment when i can consentrate which seems unlikely!!

Oh Colinsmommy that sounds like a nice day, hope you friends spoil you.

im going shopping tomorrow hoping to get pram etc organised and buy a new bike for DS as he is now on two wheels only and quickly out growing his - this is his present from his new baby brother or sister.

I thought he broke his nose tonight him and his friend bumped heads, and the blood was unrealm he has always suffered nosebleeds but it was nasty this, thankfully it seems to still be in one piece!

Miaou · 09/07/2005 15:03

Just spoken to the midwife unit today about my blood test results - apparently my haemoglobin levels are a little low so I have to have iron tablets - as they bung me up something rotten! Ah well, seem to remember that happened first time around too. I've not got any "iron deficiency symptoms" though - still got more energy than I know what to do with!

I'm onto weekly appointments now, going in on Tuesday for my next check up and also my final scan - this one to make sure everything's in the right place for delivering at my local unit rather than trekking up to the main hospital (2.5 hours away).

Rochwen and beachyhead, hope everything's ok.

Eulalia · 10/07/2005 10:11

It's getting a bit late now to organise a meet-up. shall we wait till later in the week or next week? Monday next week is best for me - Tue is ds's birthday.

Also my dd isn't too well just now and I may have to take her to the doctor.

Hope you can check in soon Rochwen.

josey · 10/07/2005 10:30

putting off is ok with me, away on holiday next week though but you can still go ahead minus me. I hope everything is ok with Rochwen.

hope your dd is better soon Eulalia

Maiou sorry to hear yout having to take iron, i was worried about the bung up thing but taking it with the orange juice really does work, if you can stand heartburn.

starting to feel more organised now thats me got everything that i can think of, im delighted with the travel system we got yesterday. and DS is over the moon with his bike. bought a new bag also for the hosptial got it for next to nothing in the debehams sale im sure they marked the price wrong so just have to pack it now, which im not in the mood for just yet.

hope everyone else fine we have been very quiet the last few days

Twiga · 10/07/2005 13:35

Delaying things is ok with me too! Next mon is ok or later this week somethime depending on what is good for everyone else.

Eulalia, whope your dd is feeling better soon.

Josey, it's always good to get a bargain!

Rochwen, hope you're doing ok, check in when you can.

Bit of a disaster on a decorating front here - to cut a long story short looks like previous owners of our house didn't prime the plaster work in our bedroom when they had it re-skimmed before painting it - result is the base coat I put on it the last couple of days proved too much for it and the paint had peeled off in huge sheets - . Now having to start all over again once I get the walls stripped - hope to get the plaster primed today and start painting again tomorrow, at least it's only the white paint we'd done and some friends are going to come across to help as dh still on nights! Little behind schedule as carpet due to arive Tues - at least the gloss work is finished so should get away with lots of dust sheets - nusciance as is always easier with just bare boards - oh well !

Eulalia · 11/07/2005 09:03

Looks like another scorcher today. No doubt ds will want to go to the beach. Well dd is much better and had a good nights sleep which meant that I did too. She's had a terrible cold and couldn't breathe at night and conjuctivitis as well.

On top of all that Saturday was the wedding where I was doing the photography. I felt so tired all day and some of the photos didn't come out and I was in a right state. Never again am I doing anything like that at 37 weeks pregant. Well I acan't see me being 37 weeks pregnant again but you know what I mean!

josey - we shall wait till you come back as it would be nice to all be together.

Twiga - sorry to hear about the decorating disaster but sure it will be lovely when its finished. quite envious as we don't have a nursery - the 4 of us (soon to be 5) are cramped into 2 bedrooms!

leahbump · 11/07/2005 09:13

Hi all,

just posted a desperate thread in pregnancy as I haven't slept at all. My reflexologist thinks that the baby will come next week sometime (2-3 weeks early) and atm I daren't get too hopeful!

It will also be touch and go as to wether I get my homebirth...better pack that labour bag properly.

Third trimester really is the worse IMO....not being pregnant will be such a relief.

Azure · 11/07/2005 11:08

Rochwen, hope no news is good news. Eulalia, glad your DD is feeling better. Twiga, what a pain about the decorating. Leahbump, sorry to hear you're having even more trouble sleeping than can be expected. I'm still only 33 weeks and am pretty fed up with the pregnancy already, so I can't imagine how those of you 4 weeks or so down the line are feeling.

I decided to drive to work this morning, as I've been given a parking place until I go on maternity leave. What should have been a half-hour journey took two hours. Thankfully the car is air-conditioned, but it was still maddening. I may try my luck back on the tube again tomorrow.

blossom2 · 11/07/2005 16:02

Hi everyone .... hope you are all well!!

I can't do links but I've just started our 'Postnatal club'.

looking forward to everyone joining me ...

Azure · 11/07/2005 16:12

What??? Does this mean what I think it means? Excuse me while I rush over to the new thread.

colinsmommy · 11/07/2005 16:14

here's Blossom's link for all who want to congratulate her.

Azure · 11/07/2005 16:16

It does mean what I thought. I've left a message on the other thread, but many congratulations once again.

Miaou · 11/07/2005 16:59

Wow!!! We're off!

KMS · 11/07/2005 17:25

OMG!! that makes it all seem so more iminant for us now!

Up date on SIL-still pg but had bleeding and contractions over night, all stopped this am, so will be scanned tomorrow and will go from there. Hope she can hang on another week. is now 34+3 so better than last week.
I am under strict instuctions form DH's family not to start messing about as they can't cope with both of us in and the 4 grandchildren!!
Still think I will be at least 1 wk late.

josey · 11/07/2005 17:30

thats amazing - didnt expect anyone that soon, but i suppose we will all be poping off much sooner than we think, it brings tears to my eyes thinking that its really not that far away even if i am one of the last.

how is everyone coping with the heat today? im struggling feet are like balloons and and wee white circles on them attractive!! took ds swiming to cool off much to his delight, can see me going everyday this week.

Twiga · 11/07/2005 18:18

oh pants! just typed messge and have managed to loose it jumping between threads will re-post again later, too hot and bothered just now! Leahbump and Blossom2, have posted on your threads, lol to tyou both x

colinsmommy · 11/07/2005 19:02

Feeling really cranky right now. Went to the dr. this AM only to find out they'd cancelled my appointment. I was told they had called 4 times, but I have caller ID and they had only called once, which they usually do to remind you of your appointment. So that means instead of every 2 weeks, it will be over a month since my last appointment, since they cant get me in until the 20th, and then to top it all off, I have another one on the 22nd. Its the 2nd time I've gone there for an appointment and its been cancelled. At least the last time they admitted it looked like nobody ever called me to reschedule. And I've been having tons of Braxton Hicks, over 20 a day. Sorry rant from hot, cranky pregnant lady over.

kate100 · 12/07/2005 11:13

I can't believe that blossom has had her baby already!!! I think I'm going to be late too KMS, I'm deeply of those who I know will come before me. Still I worked out that even if I'm late and have an induction it will all be over and I'll have my new baby in less than a month and that doesn't seem so bad. I've finally got around to packing my hospital bag and then this morning DS unpacked it again. I could have cried.

Colinsmommy that's terrible. i would make a real nuisance of myself and make them see me. Waiting over a month for a doctor is not good enough at this stage of pregnancy. You could have had it by then!!!! Madness.

I'm soooooo hot. My feet are purple with white splodges too, most attractive. Still, DH was off work yesterday so we all went for a swim in the outdoor pool. It was heaven, there was a bit of a breeze and I actually got a bit cold getting out, bliss

We also bought all of DS's birthday presents so that we're ready for his big day on the 27th whatever happens. Unfortuanately the slide we bougth wouldn't fit in the boot of our car We had to call DH'd work and his dispenser came and collected the slide in his work's van. Embarassed, me? I blame it pregnancy damaging my spatial awareness, don't know what DH's excuse was.

Is anyone else paranoid about every twinge? I am and then get cross with myself for getting my hopes up. I'm also finding it reallt hard to tolerate the 'Oh, not long to go now' comments. I know people are trying to be nice, but it might still be ages and I hate the not knowing. What a grumpy lady I am!

jellybrain · 12/07/2005 15:11

Hi All

congratulations Blossom! I know just how you must be feeling
I am putting in a claim for 2nd place Cerys Megan was born 11.7.05 at 12.03am (36 wks) 6lb 10oz after a 1hr 35 min labour .
She is absolutely georgeous. I was induced early as my waters broke on Saturday afternoon. Still a bit shell shocked but have managed to ring up (from the maternity ward) to arrange delivery of the pram.
Must go 'cos my big boys will be home from school soon.I'll check in at the weekend to see how every one else is doing.

OP posts:
Azure · 12/07/2005 15:43

Jellybrain - I've left a message on the post-natal thread, but many congratulations again. What a good weight Cerys was for 36 weeks. Two babies and it's not even mid-July yet!

josey · 12/07/2005 16:17

wow - i didnt expect babies quite this quick and all of a sudden we have 2!! its so exciting, its really starting to sink in how near we all are. saying that its strange to think some of us could go into september, however maybe this is a good omen and we will all be sharpish.

im glad things are a bit cooler today, i hardly slept last night it was so hot.

Twiga · 12/07/2005 17:52

Hi all, can't believe that's two down already (have posted on other thread Jellybrain - congratulations!). Worried about Rochwen, anyone heard anything?

Swollen feet here too, very warm and stuffy - still enjoying the nice weather though really feels like hol time. Dh off to Dublin tomorrow for a couple of days - doing a presentation at a surgical conference - wish I was going, he's been on nights all week which is always a bit lonely for me as when he's home he's asleep and now he's going away . Still he's on A/L when he gets back for a few days so will just have to plough through til then.

Colinsmommy, sounds like you've every right to be feeling cranky - what a pain!

Kate100, people are not always helpful with their comments - nice they're just interested but not always needed. Keep getting horrifed looks when I tell folk I've got 7 weeks to go still - I don't think I look paticularly huge but folk seemed convinced things will happen sooner and a couple have commented that my bump has dropped?! 7 weeks feels like a lifetime just now.

Not sure what to expect on the twinges front, don't think I've felt any hicks contractions and really have no idea what to expect. When do you start ante-natal classes, still haven't heard and won't see the MW again until I'm 34+2 - must be soon surely?

KMS, hope your SIL is still hanging on in there and not too uncomfortable.

Decorating all got sorted in the end, two lovely friends from my Church came up and gave us a hand with the painting yesterday morning - dh had had some sleep on shift so helped too, then did the final coat before heading to work last night. Carpet was fitted today and dh has put up the curtains and viole so I've got my bedroom back and won't have to try and heave myself off the matress from the living room floor tonight .

Azure · 12/07/2005 18:32

Glad the decorating's sorted Twiga and hope the time your DH is away goes quicker. I would chase someone about the ante-natal classes - they should be happening now (or you should at least have a date). In my area the classes are organised by the hospital rather than the midwives; however, I did NCT last time around. I have an afternoon refresher course booked at the hospital but have since realised it clashes with the tickets I've got for DS and me to see Chitty Chitty Bang Bang so will have to cancel. Colinsmommy, it's just not on for your appointments to be cancelled like this - I would be very unhappy.

I'm feeling increasingly uncomfortable, particularly aching on the right-hand side of my bump / back. I've also had lots of comments about how I must soon be there and am I carrying twins. Today I'm having to do two round trips on the tube as DS had a dance display at the rather inconvenient time of 1.30pm, so I popped back from work to see him. It's so hot and horrible out there. Still, I'm out with a friend tonight, which should be nice.

Miaou · 12/07/2005 18:44

I went up to the hospital today for my check-up and scan - baby is behaving nicely, head down, not engaged (or maybe 1/5), but that's hardly surprising given that this is no. 3! My placenta is at the front and fairly low down, but not so low that it will interfere with labour. So I'm all set for my delivery at my local hospital - yipee! They provide towels, bedlinen, sanitary pads, nappies and clothes for the baby too - I only have to take an outfit for the baby to go home in - was quite amazed at that.

I asked the sonographer how big the baby was - she just said "not too big", but wouldn't be drawn on a weight, although she said it should be comparable to my other two - phew (they were 6lb13 and 7lb).

Colinsmommy, what a PITA, and that's really bad that they aren't rescheduling! To make then cancel an appointment is bad manners IMO.

Slightly concerned that we still haven't heard from Rochwen - hope everything's ok.

IKWYM about feeling cranky - I get very annoyed when everyone looks at me when I am in town, and want to yell "haven't you seen a pregnant woman before?" - not like me at all!

I have also developed a severe case of insomnia over the w/e - last night I was still wide awake at 4am ! Hope that doesn't last!

spacecadet · 12/07/2005 19:35

just dropping in to say, congrats to jellybrain and blossom2, you are all on the home run now girls, looking forward to more birth announcements in the not too distant future
