Thought I'd start a new thread as No 3 is pretty long now! If anyone knows how to link between the 2 threads can you put one in - I'm not called Jellybrain by accident you know .

Had a job interview yesterday but, haven't heard anything back yet . I don't think my preparation was all that good and was pretty busy over the weekend with birthday party preparations and was consequently shattered.

OP posts:

Azure · 23/05/2005 10:14

Thanks Colinsmommy and Kate100 for input on how you have done your bedrooms. It's not been a good morning for me so far, but am feeling far too stressed and hormonal to go in to it at the moment. Suffice to say it involved me bursting into tears at the tube station over something that really I should be a bigger girl about. Nevermind, I have bought a decaff cappucino and muffin from Starbucks to cheer me up and am finally at work.

Azure · 23/05/2005 10:15

Damn, I forgot to put the chocolate on the cappucino. It's just not going to be a good day.

blossom2 · 23/05/2005 11:20

Hi everyone
sorry haven't posted for a while. Just come back from a hectic week in UK (lots of driving and visiting everyone that we could possibly think of). I'm exhausted and feel like i need a holiday.

Bump is growing nicely and so am I - putting on lots of weight!! Got some more blood tests this week and then another scan at 32 weeks (nxt wk). Is anyone else feeling really tired now that they are in the 3rd trimester??

I'm done shopping now - can't think of anything else that i could possibly need or want!! How is everyone else's shopping going???

fatbirdtoo · 23/05/2005 12:50

Thanks Kate and Azure for birthday wishes, the day didn't get much better as v. hormonal and no fuss made of me at home! LOL! Got the keys to our new house on Friday but the people still moving out so had to wait till 8pm before getting in! Was so tired as had a full day already, ended up in loads of pain in my legs and abdo. Been in hospital all weekend, have had another blood clot {had one with DS} so well fed up as on complete bed rest and bigger dose injections! There's just so much to do!!!!!!!!! Got to be out of this house asap and have only peeked at new one! Think i'm going to pack myself in a box to be moved! Was supposed to be back in hospital today for leg scan but just had phone call-no slots left so going tomorrow. More arranging- arrgh!

azure- i've been trying too to find antenatal classes mainly for social reasons as going to be at home a lot at first. There are other mums in the nearest clinic but I can't join them {i've asked} as i'm not registered with the practice as they are full and not taking new patients. Thought I might loiter outside with a placard on the day they all meet and introduce myself!-if only I had the nerve! Hope u find some contacts soon, good luck!

fatbirdtoo · 23/05/2005 12:57

Blossom 2- Have only got a yellow hand knitted cardi and a front carry sling for the new baby- should I have more than this then???????! I used to be a very organised person once, but am feeling a touch inadequate at the moment, seem to have lost usual 'supermum' skills! A friend has threatened to drag me out shopping next week so probably will have more babystuff soon. Think u might have shopped for us both, tee hee

beachyhead · 24/05/2005 11:09

hello everyone - well reflexology was good - not sure if I got all the hidden depth stuff, just nice having someone massage your feet for a while!!!! I'm still here, but spent yesterday on the monitor at tommys as the babys movements went VERY quiet over the weekend so I thought I'd better get her checked out - needless to say, all was fine so, I'm back at work today, feeling very irritable, tired and fed up with the whole thing.....I bought a second hand pram from the newsagents windown on Saturday for £60 - proam and pushchair in nearly new condition so I'm pleased about that. We are not redecorating baby will live in a spare room that is big enough for a cot and a bed for the first bit, then when it can go in a bed, can go into its own box room (lucky thing!!!!!). Azure, my 4 year old has blue walls and Cath Kidson cowboy curtains, which are fun for a little boy and not too babyish.....

My blood pressure has dropped dramatically to 100/60 which is leaving me very light headed, but hopefully a long way from pre-eclampsia......

Wanted to do a hospital tour tonight but a bit fed up of the sight of Tommys at the moment, so will go in June.......

Happy Tuesday everyone....

Azure · 24/05/2005 13:24

Hi Beachyhead, the reflexology sounds nice. Sorry to hear abuot your scare, but glad that all's well. How much longer do you have to go at work? I love the idea of the Cath Kidson curtains - I'll have a look into those. Sounds like you've got a good deal for the pram & pushchair. I really must start getting my act together now - 3rd trimester starts in just over a week.

beachyhead · 24/05/2005 13:28

I'm here until June 29th, when I'll be 31 1/2 weeks, assuming I don't get signed off sick earlier (which is quite appealing). Then I have a week to get my act together, Aussie aupair starts July 4th for three months to 'play' with kids while I reeeeelaaaax and give birth !!!! Kids break up on the 7th and 13th July yikes.....all catching up with me!

had chips for lunch so feeling a bit less ratty now...

kate100 · 24/05/2005 13:28

The physio has out me on cruthches today. I feel like a bit of an idiot, but I have to admit that it does help with the pain when I am walking. However, I now can't hold my handbag!! Maybe I will have to get a new one, any excuse to feed my unhealthy acssessory addiction. She's alsoreferred me to be fitted for some kind pf pelvic belt, hmmm, sounds very sexy. I'm sure DH will love it.

Sorry that you had a scare, Beachyhead and glad to hear that all is well. I feel a little more anxious in this pregnancy. I'm sure it's in my imagination, but things don't feel quite as secure.

I've recently realised that I have done nothing to prepare for this baby. I really should get myself together. I'm very envious of you bloosom2 having everything done already.

whitie · 24/05/2005 18:09

I've just discovered this thread and would love to join I'm 27+6 with my first pregnancy and so far everything has gone fine for me. Just had my 28wk midwife appt today and heard the babies heart beat again which is amazing, I'm really enjoying being pregnant and can't wait to meet the baby but I have to admit to being terrified of labour!

I'm reading back through the thread to try and catch up with who everyone is and what's happening, wow there are a lot of messages.

Rochwen · 24/05/2005 18:22

Welcome Whitie, of course you can join, the more the merrier !

I'm glad you enjoy being pregnant.

This is going to be my first baby too and I'm also totally terrified of the birth (esp after watching the 'Desperate Midwifes' programme last night, eeek.).

whitie · 24/05/2005 19:47

I watched Desperate Midwives as well and I felt giddy by the end, my mum assures me that labour's not as bad as it looked on the program but I'm not convinced!

BunInTum · 24/05/2005 23:12

Hello all

Haven't been on for a while as have been grumpily plodding along but it's good to see ya all going strong and hi to you new gals. I'm finding the rapid weight gain is really getting to me - is anyone else feeling like this? I feel like I should be blooming but I think a hippo would probably be a more accurate way to describe myself at the moment!!

HAve got most my bits and pieces for the baby now and ended up ordering a pram from Holland (extravagent I know but promised myself one after DD1 so not feeling 2 guilty about it

Went to baby show in Birmingham last weekend which was fun. Only thing is a midwife there has got me thinking about a homebirth now - is anyone else planning on one or had one of these? I like the idea of it but worried my neighbours might hear me shouting!!

Azure · 25/05/2005 08:46

Hi all and welcome to Whitie. Kate100 I'm glad the crutches are helping - and what a great excuse to get a new handbag. I'm annoyed I missed Desperate Midwives, although it does sound a little scary. Having been through a labour once my view is that there is no point worrying too much about it (if you can stop yourself) because there is no way of knowing now how it will go on the day. It might be smooth, it might not be, and the midwives will be there to help you deal with whatever happens. Of course, the more information you and your partner have the better. Having said all that it looks like I may be having a c-section this time, so feel free to ignore all I've said.

Rochwen · 25/05/2005 14:37

Have just come back from my latest check-up (29 weeks), had actually met the m/w before which was nice as I felt we could 'continue' a discussion rather than spend the 15 mins 'introcuding' each other iykwim. Bloodpressure still very low, and I was told I have a 27wks bump but not to worry, have also finally managed to gain some weight. Still not allowed any sport or sex because risk of incompetent cervix - mpffff...

Tried discussing possible elective c/s with m/w but she said that she couldn't make a decision, that I have to wait until my 37 week appointment with consultant. When I asked her how likely it would be for me to be offered one she said 'that depends on the consultant you are seeing on the day'. Great, that made me feel very confident. I don't like this uncertainty.

Still, all in all, it was a postive appointment. Still on 4 weekly appointments.

colinsmommy · 25/05/2005 15:49

Hi all. Big welcome to whitie.

Well after 2 days of DH and DS being ill, they've managed to give me another cold again. I'm breathing so loud, I feel like Darth Vader.

Haven't done much shopping for this one, Blossom. I have about 10 outfits, and my wonderful friend gave me about 100 diapers, and that's about it. Of course I have all of the baby stuff left over from DS except for the clothes. I decided that this time I will get clothes after it is born, so I can get boy or girl clothes depending on what it is.

MINNIE1 · 25/05/2005 16:14

Twiga,

Where are you? Hope all is well with you..

fatbirdtoo · 25/05/2005 16:20

Hi all and welcome to Whitie, you have done well to stay healthy amongst us with problems-long may it continue for you! Well I've been back to the hospital for leg scan, DVT(Deep vein thrombosis] seems to have been dissolved by high dose heparin injections so back on regular dose now. DP won't let me do anything with new house though and have had keys confiscated to stop me goin round there and cleaning it! Still not packed much and generally cheesed off! Anyone else on heparin (clexane)injections? I thought someone was but can't find it on old thread.
Kate100-love the excuse to shop for a new handbag- pity about the crutches though! I've probably spent far too much time researching a great changing bag than any other bit of equipment-how sad is that! I like the baby bjorn and samsonite vanity type bags as they look cool as well as practical. I just love ones that look funky and not big 'mumsy' changing bags that end up stuffed full and too heavy! Still haven't quite made that final decision though, its a toughie!!

colinsmommy · 25/05/2005 17:32

Twiga? Twi-ga where are you?

josey · 25/05/2005 17:43

hi everyone and welcome whitie

im really fed up and decided today i hate my midwife!!! I have been in such pain with my back and hip this week it seems to lock when i stand or sit DH has had to lift me out of chairs etc so im stuck now as he is back at work for 2weeks better not have a bath!!
anyway the midwife saw me hardly walking told me it was a nerve and phone next week if no better. she has seen me from day one had me totally mixed up with someone else and couldnt even work out how far i was then she told me i had a windy belly the last time she saw me eh no i didnt!! i wouldnt mind so much if she had a personality but she is a complete wet blanket. sorry rant over.
have a few things for baby but not that much certainly not on the outfit front

kate100 · 25/05/2005 19:42

Josey, go to the doctors and make them listen to you, that's exactly what I have and a physio will help. Very for you. Does it also hurt and lcok when you roll over in bed? Listening to a lot of you makes me realise how lucky I am with the care that I receive.

Fatbirdtoo, I am so with you on the changing bags. I have researched that more than anything else. Last time I had the bog standard bag and it's very boring. As we don't need much this time we're having a treat. I've seen a gorgeous one, with poppies on, but DH stated 'I'm not bloody carrying that'. So we're having a brown cord skip-hop bag.

Has anyone else started to swell up? If I stand for too long, not likely at the moment admittedly, I can feel the fluid rushing down to my feet and if I look down they're purple!! Erghhhh!!!!!

Sorry where are my manners? Welcome Whitie.

josey · 25/05/2005 20:22

yes kate100 when i turn or try to get up or sit when basically when i move my left leg in any direction - i have had trapped nerves or syatic (really dont know how to spell that sorry haha)nerve before and its nothing like this.
Anyway she said if im still sore Monday to phone the MW's she is on holiday and they will get me booked in to see the physio on the next clinic day so to be honest it will be quicker to weight till Monday and suffer than try to get appointment at my doctors and be reffered through them. My Mum is coming to visit this weekend and is threating to take me to a private physio if she can find one (roll of the eyes from me)
Haha re hubby with the poppy baby bag mine would say the same, the Louis Vuitton has a fantastic one but hey one can dream!! think i will wnd up with the matching of the pram as didnt have them matching last time and hated my bag.

Twiga · 26/05/2005 08:39

I'm here ! Sorry to have not posted in a while work finally got my shifts sorted out and am mostly working days from around 10am ish, have been feeling really tired and also swamped with decorating type chores - my house is such a mess!!!

Big Welcome to Whitie, really cool to still have folk joining us .

Minnie1, how are ya? Hope you're feeling less nervous about it all. When is your next scan? Should really visit you over on the Dec thread, lol x

Colinsmommy, that's pants about your dh work trip, just keep talking to your wee one and tell her to stay put - maybe if we all keep our legs croseed as a thread it'll help !

Beachyhead re: your 4d scan wow, must have been really cool. we thought about paying out to get one done privately but really can't justify the money, they look amazing though. glad it all went well!. Sorry to hear you've had a bit of a scare, really glad things are ok.

Kate100 - ouch! - nasty sounding slip! Hope the crutches help.

Fatbirdtoo, sorry to hear you're having a bit of a stressful time of it, hope the move goes smoothly when it all gets going. Belated Birthday greetings! re: injections, you have my sympathy, I hate needles. On a changing bag front I've not really done much research but saw this one in a mag and thought looked quite cool little company

On a nursery decorating front we've bought most of our stuff and are just waiting for it to be delivered at the start of August. Mamas & papas will assemble as well as deliver so all we've got to do is get the room painted and emptied. We've gone for this range of nursery stuff M&Ps , with this furniture cot, wardrobe and dresser . Will probably paint nursery walls a soft yellow with maybe one wall in a pale green. Our choice was influenced by the time we've spent out in Kenya/Uganda - both love giraffes and wanted a jungle/safari theme.

Was at the dentist yesterday, needed a couple of very small fillings - more to prevent probs in the future than from a major need for them. Feeling bruised still from injections but glad not to have to go back for a while - dentist was really good and took extra care to make sure I was comfortable etc what with being pg and all.

Hello to everyone I've not mentioned, hope you're all keeping well, took ages to cath up with the thread so hope I've not missed anyone.

MINNIE1 · 26/05/2005 09:06

Twiga,
Good to see you ok and love the baby stuff, can't wait to start getting the baby stuff i am going to get everything new and use it for all the other babies i will have (ya minnie try and have one first) We have been saving all the spare change, we now have 4 big tins full and always said we would use that to kit out the babys room.. (2 years savings)
