Ah I have a plan in place, DH has agreed that we will pay for the removals people to pack the house for us

Actually we have found a really nice house, we are just waiting to find out if the landlord will accept us, and store their furniture.

bratnav · 06/07/2009 17:27

at Nixon, I see what your DP means, it is kindof cool...

StealthPolarBear · 06/07/2009 19:18

hi everyone
hope you get the house you want bratnav
We're OK for childcare - my aunt is 20 mins away, mum is 40 mins and MIL is an hour so between the lot of them someone should be able to get here

Hi all,
I'm hoping my parents will be around when I have to go to hospital otherwise I have been collecting friends who could potentially have DD for a short while until my parents turn up.
My parents live a considerable distance away and would need to come by train. Usually they travel by coach but I have told them they must get on the train as the journey is much quicker even though it will be more expensive. My mum has already been looking at dates to book my brother into respite care but they can get an emergancy bed if necessary.

I also have a SIL and BIL who live close by but who we don't see regularly and she has offered to come over.

I have six working days left til the hols then up to 8 days in sept

blue76 · 06/07/2009 21:50

Bratnav - good luck with your new house. What a mare though, having to move!

Mumtobe - I was told DD would be a 4 pounder and she came out 7lbs 4ozs...

Looking forward to summer hols - 9 days left in work. BUT I'm going back for 2 weeks in Sept - meaning I'll be 39 weeks when I finish. Would rather have the mat leave actually with baby. A colleague of mine was told go off a month before she was due and she regrets it now, as her ds was 2 weeks late, resulting in her going back to work when he is only 4 1/2 months old.

mummyhill · 07/07/2009 07:22

Only 15 shifts left at work. 3 per week so in 5 weeks I can be home with my feet up!

bigbang · 07/07/2009 09:18

Mumtobe, at the scan the day before ds was born they told us the weight was 8lb 13oz. I was very shocked as the midwife had said he was a small baby, around 6lb. He was actually 7lb6 so they are not always accurate! Its good news the baby is growing ok though, thats the main thing. Hope the appt on thursday goes well.

Good luck with the house move bratnav! We are moving early next year and I don't know how I will manage with two little ones around, let alone four.

Why does that keep happening??

LizLemon · 07/07/2009 09:27

Ooo you have all been chatty...

My trousers fall down as well. All of them. Doesn't seem to matter what kind of fastening or band they have. Dresses and skirts are better fo9r me at the moment - got the cap wrap dress from Isabella Oliver in the sale and it's lovely.

Ace timing from your landlord Bratnav Hope that new house works out.

Cheers for the breastfeeding numbers: duly added to my diary

So glad the weather's broken - I was starting to get a bit teary over silly things due to not sleeping and always being too hot.

LittleCheese · 07/07/2009 10:30

Hi Ladies hope you are all well. I got back from spain at the weekend and just managed to catch up on all the posts I had missed (almost 11 pages)I couldnt believe how busy it has been on here. Ladylush sorry to hear your news but glad you have a plan and seem to be managing the situation.

Sorry im not replying more to other posts there were just so many.

Spain was too hot I didnt get any sleep and really felt quite miserable, dd however had a lovely time and it was nice to spend time together as a family before our bubble arrives.

On a happier note just had confirmation from the job centre that we qualify for the £500 sure start grant and that it will be in my bank account on thursday. Now i can relax knowing we can order dd's new furniture and the baby will have somewhere to sleep. The only issue I have is where to buy a bed and wardrobe from, I unfortunately have expensive taste without the large budget to go with it

Any suggestions for nice childrens furniture that wont break the bank and wont fall apart after 6 months are welcome.

sorry for long me post...

Hi everyone,

Some great bfing advice, will bear it all in mind when the time comes just trying to not worry about it at the moment and just go with the flow (as it were!!) when LO arrives, no pressure on myself and use lots of bf support if I need it.

Feeling really crappy atm, came home from work early today as was just so tired, MW found some protein in urine sample yesterday so I could be coming down with a UTI I suppose or just knackered from working full time 24 miles away from home and trying to get the baby's room and house all sorted on the weekends.

Sorry to be self pitying, really fed up, will feel better soon.

Hope everyone is well and feeling good.

nitnat84 · 07/07/2009 20:06

Hi everyone, hope you have all had a gd day

PeppermintCream · 07/07/2009 20:56

Hi everyone, oh Bratnav I hope that you manage to find somewhere to move to soon. We had to move when my ds was 6 weeks old, it's managable but not ideal.
I had to go for my glucose tolerance test this morning, I think a combination of no breakfast and giving blood was not good for me: I fainted in the waiting room. Fortunately, one of the midwives caught me, but I was absolutely mortified! Thank goodness I won't see them all again.
I am with all of you who are finshing work soon. x

twinklegreen · 07/07/2009 21:01

peppermintcream same happened to me last week at my gtt, fainted while they were taking my second blood sample, they made me go and lie down in a bed in the ward, and brought me croissants and tea!

feeling a bit stressed tonight as had a phone call this afternoon to say my dd (3 years) is going into hospital for an operation tomorrow, I'll be glad to get it over with, just dreading the next few days

PeppermintCream · 07/07/2009 21:24

Oh poor you you twinklegreen Although TBH I'm glad I'm not the only one this has happened to.
I hope that your daughter will be ok tomorrow, lots of love to you all, will she be in hospital for very long?

Ladyem · 07/07/2009 21:37

twinklegreen hope that it all goes well tomorrow for your daughter.

TigerFeet · 07/07/2009 21:46

I had typed out a long message then MN ate it when I pressed post

There was sympathy where needed and bump admiration, and you've now been spared the tale of my public spew in Asda... so probably for the best

Twinklegreen, I hope all goes well with your dd's op.

Hope you get sorted Bratnav, what cruddy timing.

I had my GTT last week too, they must have had a few ladies feel ill or faint so they let me sit near the main entrance in the airconditioned bit so I wouldn't feel to wonky.

StealthPolarBear · 08/07/2009 08:23

Hope all went well twinklegreen, as I assume you won't see this until later.
Public spew TF?? Oh no!

OP posts:
bratnav · 08/07/2009 09:17

Tigerfeet - public spew, not good, were the staff nice to you?

Peppermintcream - the GTT is horrible, I definitely felt distinctly wobbly by the time they had finished mine.

Twinklegreen - hope all goes well today

The house we love is in process, the landlord has agreed that they would be willing to move and store their furniture, we are just haggling on rent now, we are hoping to hear back today. IF all is ok we would be moving in 2 weekends time, the 25/26th eeeek.

pebblebeach · 08/07/2009 10:17

Fingers crossed for you bratnav!

Twinklegreen - hope all goes well for DD today

I had GTT this week too - actually mine was quite civilised this time - lab is only 2mins walk from house, so one blood test at 8am, then home for normal breakfast and next test at 9.30... and results back already - all normal - yeah.

This is completely different to my last test (where I had Dr-led care rather than mid-wife-led)... which was test - drinking 50g of badly dissolved glucose - 1 hr - test. Results came back borderline, so was sent for same thing but tested 4 times over 3 hours with 100g of glucose to drink, urgh.... was midday before I had normal food that day , results back slightly high on second reading, so was told to control with diet, no sugar/choc/cake/etc.... just before Christmas , not fun.

Fingers crossed all the results come back fine, and if not you can always make up for it after baby born (not-sound-medical-advice, sorry) I know I really enjoyed Easter after DD was born

LizLemon · 08/07/2009 11:10

Hope all goes well today Twinklegreen.

Public spew? Nice

I haven't to have a gtt - they just do a blood test and then decide if they need to follow it up and I seem to be ok. They sound horrible - fingers crossed for good results everyone.

Good news so far Bratnav.

Have signed up for a yoga class this afternoon, which should be lovely. Meant to go much more but these things just slip off the radar don't they?

mumtobe23 · 08/07/2009 12:44

Afternoon all! Haven't had a chance to read any posts so hope all is well with you all.

I have 1/2 day today so Im off home in about 2 minuets!!!
Have my 2nd antenatal class tonight...labour and birth, not looking forward to it really specially if they show a rather graphic video which I've heard from a friend that they do! EEK!
