Hi everyone Can't believe we could have our first baby in 4ish weeks

OP posts:

LizLemon · 11/07/2009 08:47

If you can I think that might be nice. Just so she knows we're thinking of her.

30 weeks yesterday for me. Somehow lately the countdown in my head has changed to 8-12 weeks to go. 8 seems very soon, but is technically possible. Better clear out the spare room pronto.

daffodilli · 11/07/2009 09:36

Hi all. Not been on in a while, or read all posts properly, but thought I would check in to see how Ladylush is doing. I think that would be a lovely idea Stealth, as Liz says at least that way she knows we are all thinking about her.

Bit of a stressful time here, mum been diagnosed with breast and lymph cancer, and has been having lots of scans to see if the lymph cancer has spread anywhere else, no results as yet though, so keeping everything crossed. She will have an op, and then radiotherapy and chemotherapy. I cant see her while she is having treatment, and also she might not be able to see bubs for a while after he's born .

Times seem to be stressful for alot of us on here at the moment - virtual group hugs and cake needed I think x x x

blue76 · 11/07/2009 11:07

Daffodilli I am so sorry to hear your sad news. Fingers crossed for your mum.

I have a very odd-shaped tummy - it's all at the front, prompting the kids in school to stick footballs up their tops! It really does look like I've got a ball in there...
She was kicking so hard last night I thought I was going to lose control of both my bladder and bowels

mummyhill · 11/07/2009 11:22

So sorry to hear your news daffodilli.

30 weeks today! Arghh never going to get everything done in time! My two are driving me mental fighting this morning. Will have to get them out to run off some of this energy when dh gets in from work!

StealthPolarBear · 11/07/2009 11:36

oh no daffodilli, will keep my fingers crossed for results

stealth - whats CAT???

StealthPolarBear · 11/07/2009 12:04

HI FS, welcome back, did you have a good time?
ladylush hasn't posted for a week, but as far as we know there's nothing wrong.
CAT is the way we contact other MNers but you have to change your settings to allow it i think.

Afternoon all, have had a lovely lie in and feel fab

Daffodilli, so sorry to hear about your Mum, it must be very stressful and upsetting for you and the family

32 weeks today, I really don't know where the time has gone, I just can't wait to meet our little boy now.

We are very happy and relieved about the house, have booked removals people who are packing for us, so all we have to do is clean and touch up any paint here and there.

Full steam ahead

daffodilli · 11/07/2009 13:26

Thanks everyone - any preferences as to virtual cake flavour?

about your move Bratnav! Must be a weight off your mind, and you can start decorating a nice blue nursery now as well!

31 weeks tomorrow - for me its less of where the time has gone and more of how the heck will he fit in over the next 9 weeks? There doesn't seem to be enough room already..!

Minshu · 11/07/2009 15:40

Keeping fingers crossed for your mum, daffodilli.

I'll be 30 weeks on Tuesday. Another psychological milestone - 75% of the way there and feeling totally unprepared. And, can't work out just how much bigger my bump can possibly get without me falling over every time I try to stand up. Baby is having a fairly quiet day after moving non-stop yesterday - she must be exhausted

Chocolate would be my normal preference...

peachygirl · 11/07/2009 18:28

Well done bratnav with the move, we moved when DD was 12 weeks old (we were supposed to be in before she was born)

You have made the right choice in getting them to pack it was the best thing I have ever done. Well worth it and I would do it again like a shot if we were to move.

I have CAT set up too if you have any problems getting hold of ladylush. She is also very local to me

peachygirl · 11/07/2009 18:32

Sorry to hear abut your mum daffodilli Hope she will be well enough to enjoy the baby when it arives

blinder · 11/07/2009 20:32

I know how traumatic that news can be daffodilli as I work with cancer patients and have close personal experience too - but there are amazing treatments these days and I know lots and lots of women with the same diagnosis as your mum who are perfectly healthy many years later. And treatments are becoming more and more successful all the time. Sending lots of good vibes !

daffodilli · 11/07/2009 22:00

Thanks blinder - so sorry you've had experience of this x x its horribly common isn't it? Positive vibes very welcome

StealthPolarBear · 12/07/2009 07:02

When are you expecting any results daffodilli? Should they be fairly quick?

OP posts:
daffodilli · 12/07/2009 09:26

Mum has her last scan tomorrow, which is an organ scan, so hopefully results will be available by friday. The consultants seem to have a weekly meeting on a friday where they discuss results etc, so its also possible that it may well be next monday. Common sense says that nothing will get worse in the space of a week, but it still seems a long time to wait.

StealthPolarBear · 12/07/2009 09:48

It does, suppose any wait is pretty unbearable. Hope next week passes quickly.

daffodilli · 12/07/2009 10:14

Thanks Stealth - everyones so lovely on here

LizLemon · 12/07/2009 13:57

So sorry to hear your news Daffodilli - that must be so hard not being able to see her. You can always keep her updated with pictures of your growing bump and daily pictures of the baby. Not the same thing at all as being able to have cuddles but thank heaven we live in a digital age.

I'll take lemon and poppyseed ;)

Great news about the moving people Bratnav. I had packing last time we moved and it was the best money I've ever spent. Made me feel like a proper grown up.

Had a very teary day yesterday - anyone else get this? I just can't stop crying over stupid things some days. My friend said she had it all the time when she was pregnant but so far we seem to be alone in it.

nitnat84 · 12/07/2009 15:35

Sorry to hear your news Daffodilli.

LizLemon- Oh yes, I have uncontrollable days where I can not stop crying. Ultra sensitive about everything this is said or done.

Have spent the day having a massive clear out. Still need to decorate the nursery though! Anyone else not decorated yet?

SprinkleofStardust · 12/07/2009 18:11

So sorry to hear your news daffodilli, sending you lots of positive thoughts and hope that your Mum is ok, I have personal experience of cancer too, it's just too common now

I'm so glad you have commented on being tearful LizLemon, I was terrible yesterday, which was really unreasonable as my friend rang me Friday night to tell me that she is 10+6 PG, this is the most amazing news as she has suffered with 6 miscarriages in 2 years and this is the first time she's come this far and there has been a heartbeat, I woke up yesterday feeling so happy for her that I then burst into tears and felt tearful all day!!

Good luck with the move Bratnav, getting people in to pack sounds like a really good idea!!

Even though in some ways there still feels like lots of time to get everything done I still have 5 weeks left of work and I'm just so knackered all the time, weekends just go by in a haze of feeling the effects of the week and trying to prepare for the next one. 25 working days to go, really can't come quickly enough

Oh can I put a request in for Carrot Cake please

nitnat84 · 12/07/2009 18:44

ooooohh carrot cake! yum! Damn Tesco is closed!

daffodilli · 12/07/2009 20:19

Will '3rd' carrot cake!

Have a nicely burnt chest and nose after sitting down Swansea Bay watching the Red Arrows - worth it though as they were really good ! Was nice to do something a bit different as opposed to just feeling the after effects of the week as Sprinkle says, and staying stuck to the sofa all weekend, DH considering hiring a crane....

Snowfalls108 · 12/07/2009 22:10

Sorry to hear your news Daffodilli, Hope the tests go well.

LizLemon - I'm right with you on the emotional. Yesterday I cried when I walked past a blind man playing the accordian. The paper also had me in floods. My husband looked a little cross and tears flowed!
