Wow!!!! Congratulations Cobweb!!!!! What lovely news, and a lovely name too. He certainly wasn't hanging about.

I hope things are going smoothly at home with him and that you are recovering well.

Lua, not mad, perfectly normal. I can't help thinking along those lines too - must be our hormones. I am impressed you are all sorted. I am washing baby clothes today, and as soon as I've got a few things in a drawer I'll feel more in control. My football team is Sheffield Wednesday by the way.

KVG, your poor DH must have wondered what was going on! Sounds like he is a lovely man. Happy wedding anniversary! How many years have you been married?

bubbaloo · 18/05/2005 09:08

morning all,

RHM-thats brilliant news.bet your really pleased, especially as you can now hopefully have the home birth that you want

cobweb-huge CONGRATULATIONS on brandon.what a lovely name and a nice quick birth.you even beat uwila to the first june baby.hope your are both keeping well.

kvg-funny enough on my notes the doctor wrote 3/5 so that might be it! i didnt really understand what it meant and stupidly never asked him.happy anniversary btw

MINNIE1 · 18/05/2005 09:10

MrsWednesday,
Thank you for thinking of me, I am over the moon about the scan. To see the little flutter was overwhelming. The doctor is really nice and said all seems to be normal in there, So i am back in another 4 weeks (will be 11 weeks then)
How are you doing all set to meet the new babs? How are you feeling?

LipstickMum · 18/05/2005 09:14

OMG!!!!! How exciting !!! Congratulations Cobweb and family!!!

Our first 'Junie', born in May!

Well done God, makes me realise how exciting this thread is going to be over the next few weeks. How many of us will be on here asking " am I in labour??? " "off to the hospital!!" etc etc

Right, going to catch up properly...

LipstickMum · 18/05/2005 09:17

Katz, I'd love the aromatherapy list etc. DO you still have my email? I'll mail you later, thanks!

MrsWednesday · 18/05/2005 09:34

Minnie1, I'm scared! The first babies are arriving on here and it's made me really nervous. So pleased your little beanie is growing well .

Right, DS is trying to 'help' on the computer so I think it's time to go and entertain him.

Katz, I've sent my pound so it should arrive today or tomorrow.

Lua · 18/05/2005 09:35

CONGRATULATIONS COBWEB! Well come to the first memeber of the junie F.C.!!! Lovely name BTW! Hope you are setlling in well with baby !
Now you can start to tell us everything you wish you had ready and you didn't so we can get ready!

mrsflowerpot · 18/05/2005 09:39

Wow, Cobweb, congratulations! How exciting to have the first one arrive already.

I missed some messages yesterday, didn't catch up properly. Sorry you were feeling down, Welshmum, this must be a hard mix of emotions at the moment. And having the in-laws descend on you is enough to make anyone emotional at the best of times.

Bubba, sounds like the baby might have been engaged and popped back out - 3/5 is quite a lot for them to have got it totally iyswim. That's got to be good news though, at least it fits!

Must get on with some work today, our accounts year end is 31 May and they have to be in suitable shape to go to the accountant in June (fantastic timing, no?), and given that I will not be in a mental state to have intelligent conversations with accountants myself in June (even less so than usual), they have to be pretty sparklingly clear. I hate being self-employed, can't wait for dh to take this job and I can go back to being a sahm...

Lua · 18/05/2005 09:40

Morning all! Sorry i havnt been around for like 100 years!!!!
CONGRATULATIONS COBWEB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cobweb · 18/05/2005 11:04

Thanks for all your lovely messages.

Can't believe that my June baby has been born

and

that he is the first on this thread.

Over the next few weeks it is going to be so busy on here and I wish each and everyone of you the best of luck.

Some advice:

  • Be Organised (I was packing mid-contractions)
  • Make use of the time in hospital to rest. I have two boys already and it was nice to have some bonding time in hospital.
  • Don't make the mistake that I have done and that's come home and crack on as normal - its day 4 now and this morning my milk has come in and I feel as if I have been hit by an express train. Try to rest as much as possible. Just do the necessities.

Love to you all xxx

tribpot · 18/05/2005 11:31

Yay! Congratulations to Cobweb and Brandon our first little Junie.

Congrats to KVG on your wedding anniversary, AND dh remembering it!

And congrats to RHM too, you must be SO relieved.

LipstickMum · 18/05/2005 11:46

Aww Cobweb, it's great news and thanks for the tips! Sounds like R&R is high on your list of priorities, especially for those with other children...gawd!

Welcome back Tessie!! For goodness sake woman, where have you been? Is everything ok? Great to see you back, hang around for the next month, it's going to be very exciting on here!!!

Great news for you RHM re the kidneys and your home birth, excellent stuff!

Welshie, sorry you've felt down recently, remembering your baby Don't know what else to say really, but you know we're here for you and sending virtual hugs and lots of love xxx

Katz, I've mailed you about the aromatherapy list. I went off the radar a bit last week and seem to have missed the part where money was collected for the Sweepstake!! I had already put my bets down, is it too late to send money??

Things are chilled here. The decorator has finished I resisted the tempatation to snog hime when he finished his last brush stroke. ALthough I was tempted, I thought it would give you gals something to oooh and ahhhh about!!

We're waiting for carpet to be fitted and floors to be sanded. The latter happens early next week and the former happens on the 3rd June, maybe earlier if I can harrass them and throw my bump in his face often enough being pg certainly gets things done, I spoke to my neighbour yesterday and her carpet (from same place) isn't being done till the 18th June, even though she ordered it a few days before us !! I had mentioned to the man when we would be ready, so perhaps he'd made a mental note. Anyway, thank goodness for that!!!

My mum's here helping out and I am so relaxed even though we're not nearly 'finished' with stuff. It's great, after so long!!!

Grrrr I was very sick last night after I'd gone to bed It was awful, I hate being sick I also worried it was the start of the 'clearing out' before labour Please God, no!

Cooperoo · 18/05/2005 12:23

Hello all
WOWOWOW Congratulations Cobweb!!! And welcome Brandon. Glad you are all well and hopefully enjoying these precious early days. Tops tips by the way thanks. I am off to pack my bag now .
Thanks all for kind words too. I am munching my way through a box of Roses I had in the cupboard as a 'spare' present. Yum.
Welshie I hope you are having a less emotional day today. Your inlaws will def just have to muck in and take you as they see you. Remember you are very pregnant and should be resting. Let them do things for you and don't try to prove anything. Hope it is not too hard seeing them again.
Bubb - Hope you are OK. I am still getting loads of BH too and they do end up aching. Sorry to hear of your best friend leaving for Oz. It is v hard. My friend is going back to the UK and so I will see her again when we move back. You have helped me try to gain some perspective thank you.
Red - Yay about the kidney. Is it a potential prob with a valve? I only ask as I was on antibiotics for 4 years from age 8 due to a kidney problem. If so it is sure to all be sorted so try not to worry. What a stressful time for you though. I am so glad the homebirth is still on schedule though. Can't wait to hear about it. Still though . Top tip about the homeopathy against aromatherapy too. I think I will stick to the labour spritz from my friend, after all when else will I use it.
Mrs F - What a day you had yesterday. I hope today will be better.
Mrs W - I think you have everything. Did you mention cotton wool? and hand cream for you?
Lua - Grr about the building work and no probs about the cheque at all. It can wait till you are ready. I just wanted to make sure you had it. Thanks.
Kat - Congrats on being plus 37 weeks. Hooray.
Hi Tessiebear and Mummylonglegs.
KVG - Happy Anniversary and I am so glad I am not the only one crying at everything. I have been sobbing again to day and I am getting very annoyed with myself. Blooming hormones. Broke down with midwife this am about feeling so unsettled etc (still no clinic date confirmed etc). Sobbed after left dd at creche. What was that about, she was perfectly happy to be there. And then got home to find that my fab physio/birthing ball has a puncture in it from a drawing pin and DH says he doesn't think the puncture repair kit will fix it. This was the final straw as if I go to Limassol I was going to take this with me to lean over etc plus I have been using it every day to ease my back ache and have four more weeks to go. I was completely irrational and took myself off to the bedroom to howl. Poor DH just said all the wrong things of course and got shouted at for his trouble (he was home for lunch). I feel out of control emotionally and it is very disconcerting.
Have good news too. I am 4/5 engaged and although iron levels are lower again they are not enough to need any supplements and m/w says the swelling I have is most likely due to the heat. See I have nothing to be sobbing for. I wish I could get a grip. I just feel overwhelmed at the moment. So exciting about Cobweb though. That news has really cheered me up.
Good Luck for tomorrow Uwila. Are you ready??
Bye for now ladies.

Cooperoo · 18/05/2005 12:25

OMG CONGRATULATIONS COBWEB

My goodness that was fast! I'm so so so pleased for you and your family. I remember all your posts on the TTC threads (I was an un-brave lurker then ) so it's just wonderful your new ds is here all safe and well. Any news on the housing front yet? How do your other two ds's like their new brother? Great tips btw - I plan to stay in hospital when this one arrives until they kick me out! This is just fab news...

Red - fantastic news from you too and very pleased you can now (all things allowing) have your home birth too.

Uwila - when is kick off tomorrow?? Good luck if I don't get a chance to log on again today, looking forward to Mr Uwila's post!

Sorry don't have much time to catch up properly, this nesting thing is becoming a bugger! Started a job in the bathroom this morning and now it looks 10 times worse than before, so have to try and finish it before dh comes home!

tribpot · 18/05/2005 13:06

Oh Coop, what a nightmare day for you. If it will help at all, I am quite happy to go and get you a new birthing ball from Argos, how is the post out to Cyprus? Or could you take it to a bike shop to see if they could fix it for you?

Btw, dh and I have had a disagreement on the subject of muslins. I think you just have to have them for mopping up jobs and whatever, he wants to know why we can't just use tea towels! When I pointed out they might be a bit rough for a baby's skin, he said surely we could use cotton wool on the baby and the tea towels for wiping up other surfaces. Hmm. Guess which of us has never held or fed a baby before. I have had to play the irrational pregnant woman card to get my way, so let's hope I don't need that one again this week!

After Cobweb's news, I am actually thinking about packing my hospital bag, hence the muslin "discussion"!

flashingnose · 18/05/2005 13:07

Just saw this is active convs - GOOD LUCK to you all

welshmum · 18/05/2005 13:28

Cobweb that is so, so fab. Sounds like you've got your priorities right with the resting. What does little Brandon look like? Big congrats to you all.
Red - great news about the kidneys and the home birth - all the best for the rest of the pg now you've got that off your mind.
Uwila - I'll be thinking of you very much tomorrow - assume you're going in early. Is your dh ready to look after dd now???
Lippy - I'm so glad you've nearly finished your loft - it feels like that 's been nearly as long and involving as a pregnancy!
Mummylonglegs - ah-ah - you should have told me that you'd changed your MN name - I had been wondering what became of you. Hope all's well with you and yours xx
Thanks for all your kind thought re my emotional day yesterday. I'm feeling loads better now - just had to get it out of my system I guess. I had the most lovely massage last night - everything felt much better after that.
Tonight I've got a bit of a girl's night - bless them. They've all got at least 2 children so I suppose I'll be in for a whole lot of advice/mickey taking etc.
Have good days all

LipstickMum · 18/05/2005 13:30

Katz, thank you very much for the info, it's much appreciated

Trib... Ah, men!! My dp can't understand why the dishcloth isn't ok to use to wipe down sink, draining board, sides, occasionally the floor, oh, and dd's face after a meal I said one day "ok fine" and after our meal I got the dish cloth and tried to wipe his face with it, at which point he recoiled in horror!!! Point made, but he stillcan't be arsed and occasionally confuses the flannel in the kitchen with the dishcloth.

Just buy the muslins

I'm going to have a nap now, bye all!

mrsflowerpot · 18/05/2005 13:31

you can't live with a new baby without muslins. Just wait until he's had sick down his back a couple of times, he'll change his mind.

Uwila, if I don't get back on here today - good luck! Looking forward to the announcement!

bubbaloo · 18/05/2005 13:44

tessiebear-nice to see you back.hope your keeping well

hello and thank you to mummylonglegs and flashingnose!

coop-sorry your still feeling under the weather.if its any consolation i'm also sobbing alot but mainly at things on t.v.at least you've got reasons to be upset.

lippy-glad your house is all coming together nicely.sorry to hear of the sickness-hopefully its just a one off.

trib-we also had the same conversation re:muslins but before he had the chance to argue i went out and bought them.have now got loads
