Evening all!

I am doing fine Mrs.W, thanks for asking! Things are getting hectic. So I've been keeping up with the thread but not posting much .
Saw consultant today and now I'll be going to the hospital two times a week for monitoring baby with doppler! She made it clear she won't let me go past due date, but she will also be away for the next two week... So it looks like I'll have a completely new consultant looking after me when times comes... The good new is that baby is not "feeling" big! Sorry for those that bet on me for the biggest....

Lynny, sorry to hear about your troubles! Hope you get all sorted out! Lee, keep us posted if you can !
Katz, hang in there. From all I hear lots of early contractions do help in the end.
Trib, great job with the stats table. I have missed Mrs.F last time around. I promisse i would fix next.... Maybe you can do that for me now? Thanks!
Lummox glad to hear your move is all sorted out. All these people having babies in May is making me anxious too!
I've been taking raspberry leaf tablets for a couple of weeks now. I hope it helps push the baby out, but it certainly is not speeding up things enough for me....
My sis arrives sunday, so I'll be spending all of tomorrow cleaning the pit AKA "my ouse". Have a good weekend everyone!!!

charleypops · 20/05/2005 23:21

Hi girls - Can't believe I have pc problems at such an exciting time! And I can't believe we've started having our babies and lcertainly can't believe I'll be having a baby myself either

I dropped the laptop a few days ago, and have to get it repaired or replaced, so have only intermittent internet access, but I'll be keeping up as much as possible.

Cobweb - CONGRATULATIONS to our first Junie!! Sounds like you got off very lightly with a measly 2 hour labour - wow! Lovely name - he sounds like a film star!

Berolina - CONGRATULATIONS and welcome to Samuel! Thanks for the post Mr Bero. Hope you're all well xx

Uwila - CONGRATULATIONS and hello Alex!!

Lee - Please send her our love. I hope she's ok soon, and I hope you and Leona are ok too.

I'm looking forward to all your birth stories!

Coop - hope your dinner went well tonight! Glad your friends ok, sorry you're going to miss her so much. Not a great time to be saying goodbye to someone you're close to. Oo - your birthing ball episode sounds a bit rough. Hope you've got a replacement.

KVG - I'm of the same mind re the Vit K injection - don't really want one of his very first experiences to be a jab either. I think I'll do the oral drops like Coop instead. Sorry your and dh's parents said the wrong things when you had your mc, that must've been awful for you both. You're right though, mc's must be so difficult to deal with in the "right" way by family and friends. Glad you had a nice wedding anniversary. Lol at you being like a stranded whale! I feel like a upsidedown turtle if I need to get up from lying down.

Welshie - It's inevitable you'd be thinking about your mc I suppose now. It must be so sad. I hope your dh is feeling better now and well done for packing your hospital bag.

Lippy - not got the sling yet - I've run out of spends until dp gets paid , but I'll let you know as soon as I get one - I'm tempted to buy some rings and make my own in white linen following the Maya pattern... How come you were sick the other night? Are you ok now?

Red - Il'm so pleased you've been reassured about your baby's kidneys You need to order a pool asap as sometimes there's a waiting list )according to an MN thread in archives somewhere - which incidently has loads of recommendations and links in it)

Hi Scraggy - Can't believe you're still working and zooming up and down the motorway Glad you had a lovely holiday. Wish I was all brown and lovely for labour

MrsF - Hooray for your Vbac - hope it works out for you!

Jonah - well done for finishing your drawers. I have NO furniture for the baby yet - all his stuff is piled up behind a door

Trib - thanks for posting the new stats thread!

Lua - can't you get your sis to clean your house?

charleypops · 20/05/2005 23:47

i was told today at my mw appt that along with having a trace of protein in my urine, my blood pressure is almost pre-eclampsic at 108 over 89 (90 being the cut off). This second figure has shot up. 10 days ago when I last had it measured it was 70, and non pg is normally 60.

Has anyone else had this?

Scraggyaggy · 21/05/2005 07:33

Charley - I had some protein in my urine, with slightly raised bp and slight swelling, but my mw decided that as none of the signs were "severe", and we were both happy that baby was continuing to grow well, to leave it and test me again a short while later. As it turned out I was fine the next time. Wht don't you pop in to your surgery on Monday / Tuesday and ask the nurse to do your bp and a urine sample again so you have a comparison? x

mrsflowerpot · 21/05/2005 08:13

Charley - I never had protein in my urine but my blood pressure was around that in my first pg for weeks and weeks in the middle bit, when it's supposed to drop. I swelled up a fair bit too. They did check me regularly until it dropped back - I go with Scraggyaggy, I would pop into the clinic on Monday again if you can and get it checked. But they would have packed you off to hospital if they were really worried or asked you to come in daily at the least.

Hope everyone is well this morning, just checking in while ds eats toast in front of Bob the Builder - his Saturday treat of brekkie in front of the TV (nothing to do with me wanting to sit and read the paper in peace of course!).

Raspberry leaf tea, thank you for reminding me, shall have to go and get some. Will pick up some arnica at the same time I think.

Have good weekends all.

PS. Hello to Gwenynbee - sorry I seem to have missed saying that before.

tribpot · 21/05/2005 08:34

Okey dokey, I've added Gwenynbee and mrsf to our stats latest baby stats

Charley, good to see you around! Sorry about the protein worry, hopefully they can test you again?

Re: slings, btw, we've now bought the Tricot Slen, and I've had to request my niece bring round her baby Annabel (or "Baby Hannibal" as she calls it) on Sunday so we can practice on it. My bro offered me the use of my nephew but I sincerely hope that my newborn baby will be somewhat smaller than my nephew (aged 14 months).

And on the subject of my bro - some of you may remember he had a health scare around the time they were adopting my little nephew. Fortunately now he's had the all clear from the hospital so big PHEW for that.

karen01 - thanks for popping in! Are many of the June04 mums watching us, I wonder, remembering when they felt like whales and/or turtles?!

LipstickMum · 21/05/2005 09:14

OMG Trib!! How impresive is that birth stats chart of yours??? Hehe I can't even remember half the people on there, let alone compile a beautiful chart like that

I just logged on to see if anyone had hatched over night

I wont be posting a great deal this weekend, it's dd's birthday on Monday, so very busy for us. Do not assume I am in labour!!

Charley, great to have you back for a while. Why do annoying things happen, like dropping laptops, that can be so expensive and inconvenient?? They always seem to happen just at the wrong time. Also, you inevitably discover that you have loads to do, all of which revolves around either doing a bit of research on the net, emailing or ordering through a website Been there!

Poor you about the protein. Last pg at 28 weeks I was admitted overnight with possible pre-E. I had a +1 for my protein, but blood pressure low as normal. I had to do a 24 hour urine test (collecting wee in a big bottle for 24 hours) and when I was given the all clear, I had to go back 2 days later as an outpatient for more monitoring. I was very bored and they were very thorough.

I had a trace of protein in my urine when I went in last week too. But generally, when it's just a trace they aren't too concerned, certainly if your bp is ok (which mine was).

Still, they take pre-E very seriously. Any chance you can get your bp measured again soon? Monday? Anyone you know got a home bp kit? If it were me, I'd go along on Monday and get measured again, urine sample and bp.

Take it easy this w/e too

I have to go to the Supermarket...

Oh Mrs W, glad I'm not the only one still stumbling blindly through nameland! We sort of have one, but it's more like a nickname and I would like a formal, longer version as well, even if we never use it. Don't ask why, just do!

LipstickMum · 21/05/2005 09:22

PS. Charley, have hotmailed you.

tribpot · 21/05/2005 09:30

Lippy, I can't take the credit. Lua had a list, all I did was put it into Excel with a bit of colour to make it more exciting (I thought it'd be easier to read in a link as it's a long list and will make the thread grow enormously in the weeks to come I suspect).

We still haven't even really thought about names - middle names were decided months ago, and I think we already know what first names we want. But the MIL keeps hassling about it, so I refuse to discuss it at all

JonahB · 21/05/2005 11:18

Morning All, finally got my fat arse out of bed...

Welshie, that?s slightly the problem. When we had a new kitchen put in earlier this year, all our friends rallied around and cooked us loads of meals while we were a bit kitchenless. I?m trying to repay all the ?debts? now. Think I called in the pgy favours too early .

Lee, thanks for letting us know. Please send her our love and all the best wishes to you and your family

Trib, thanks for being so organised. The baby stats report is a great idea. Oh, and great news about your bro?s all clear. You and your family must be so relieved.

Gweny, the raspberry leaf tea really isn?t that bad and is quite drinkable. This is from someone who usually hates all those herbal teas and thinks the majority taste like compost. I do know people that have hated it and taken the tablets instead though. I got mine from H&B as well. It says on the side of my packet, no more that 3 cups a day. I manage 1 or 2 per day.

Lipstick, you managed to shag every night . Good for you. I keep threatening DH with that. Needless to say, he doesn?t look over-enthused at the prospect and neither am I. I?ve already booked my jalfrezi for tomorrow night and bought a big fat pineapple. Quite frankly, if dancing naked round the streets of M?cr got the baby out faster, I?d seriously consider it.

charleypops · 21/05/2005 12:32

Morning! (well nearly)

Hi Scraggy/MrsF - I'm glad you were both fine with your bp scares. I'm having my second growth scan on Tuesday at the hospital so I'll get it all checked out then. Had bloods taken actually the Tuesday before last and not had the results so I'll chase them too.

Lol Trib at your brother's offer of his 14m old to try out your newborn sling! I have been looking at the Tricot Slen myself - they look really good. So glad he's been given the all clear - that's just brilliant news after that horrid scare.

Lippy - say happy birthday to dd from us! I have to take the laptop in on Tuesday and they have to keep it for a whole damn week - just to assess the damage when it's pretty obvious from just looking at it that it's buggered Then lord knows how long it'll take to replace. Doing it through the house insurance so it's obviously going to take ages. I've got the massive old and slow dusty computer out again now so hopefully I'll be able to keep up with you all
I've (of course) been looking up pre-eclampsia on here and the internet. I was suprised at how common it is (10% of all pregnancies!) And at how dangerous it can be. Glad to hear how thorough they were with you Lippy with your previous pg. Must've been a worry though, staying in over night. I think dp would freak if I had to stay in overnight. BTW you need a long, formal version of dd's "nickname" for when she's being naughty! I'll go check my Hotmail in a min x

Katz - any progress??

Trib - Fantastic baby stats table!!

Lee - are you around? How's Lynny today?

charleypops · 21/05/2005 14:41

Hi Lee

Thanks for posting, bless you for being so helpful - hope you're managing everything ok on your own. What are they doing about her blood clot? - that sounded serious.

LipstickMum · 21/05/2005 17:24

Thanks for posting Lee, tell Lynny, good luck with everything xxx

Cooperoo · 21/05/2005 17:42

Hello all,
I am afraid I have only skim read the posts.
Lee - Please give Lynny my very best and I wish you both well for the induction. Another early Junie! I hope that she is coping with the pain and we really look forward to hearing from her when she is up to it. Thanks for keeping us posted. Hope you and Leona are OK too. It must be very stressfull for you both.
Charley - Sorry to hear about your worries. Keep an eye out for any swelling and make sure they do all the tests at your next appt.
I have been taking raspberry leaf tea tablets too. I do seem to get LOTS of BH contractions but I have had these all the way through so I am not sure of their impact really.
Gweny - Thanks for the reminder about perineal massage.......I don't think I did it properly last time but did do something so I guess I should try this time too....
When are we supposed to buy our nursing bras?? I know it is late but anyone know how late?
Had a lovely meal out last night with my friend and cried doing a crap talky bit but blamed the pregnancy made everyone laugh so all was OK. Thanks for your thoughts. Today dd had a b'day party and then we went to Paphos to watch a combined services vs Cyprus rugby match which was fun. I am sleepy after all the sun though so will be ordering pizza and having an early night. Tomorrow I have promised myself that I will pack my bag.
Have to go and get dd to bed as she is late now....
Trib - Great chart and FANTASTIC news about your bro.
Lippy - Hope dd enjoys her birthday weekend.
Sorry if I have missed anything important.
Take care all, really must go now.

karen01 · 21/05/2005 20:11

Tribpot- i think a few of us are watching from time to time rememebring how we were this time last year.
We also feel that you lot are making up for us June 04 mams being terrible posters I think we only managed 3 threads for the pregnancy and we are only on our 2nd thread for the past year. You lot put us to shame.
You have had a lot of early babies I think we had 1 in may but most of us were the middle to end of June.
Good luck to all of you not long till you will be holding onto your little bundles. (part of me is soo jealous I am getting a toddler and you are all getting a tiny baby )

teabelly · 21/05/2005 20:35

Hi there

Just a quickie whilst dh puts ds to bed...

Lee thanx for keeping us posted about Lynny, poor thing, give her our love

Gweny - lol your posts really make me giggle I tried the perenium massage thing last time, but think I missed the area totally - obviously I wasn't using the right oils as my farts never smelt that nice!

Lua glad to hear all's still going ok, shame it won't be the consultant you've had most recently, but I'm sure the new one will be just fine.

Charley - I agree with the others about getting your bp/urine checked again...although if you have a checkup at the hospital on tues I'd probably just mention it to them

Trib - my computer has some kind of problem and I can't click on links from home, which is a real pain in the preverbial...could you post the full link to your fab sounding stats page when you get a mo so I could copy and paste to access...thanks

Karen - thanks for all the good wishes...here's to many very quick pain free labours to come

I've been having the rasberry leaf tea for a couple of weeks, I think it tones the uterus and makes contractions more efficient, rather than actually bringing on labour...and I'm a wierdo who actually likes the flavour of it ...although as you can probably tell from my name there's not many 'tea' drinks I dislike

Right have to go now...hope you all have a fab weekend (or what's left of it anyway)

...and Mrs W - dh isn't speaking to me after that result!

PinkArjuna · 21/05/2005 21:10

I don't come on the thread for a few days and more babies arrive

Congrats Berolina & Uwila

I must say if Bubba turns up before June I'll be most displeased. I have read the instructions for the tens machine now though.

Went to Star wars on Thursday evening - the queue was going around the cinema and the tickets sold out. The ticket clerk was kind and gave the big fat pregnant woman a ticket for the showing in 5 minutes I think he felt sorry for me like the baby might arrive before I got a chance to see the film I didn't even have to queue with my ticket to get a seat I went straight in Only decent thing someone has done the entire pregnancy That said I was kinda disappointed when it was all over. Thats it the journey is over. And the baby is due to arrive far too soon.

My exam didn't go very well. I have more on Tuesday, 6 hours worth actually. Well I hope everyone is well.

PinkArjuna · 21/05/2005 21:17

Poor lynny lots of hugs and love. I hope she's ok. Sounds serious.

mcmudda · 22/05/2005 00:00

Just checking in to say hi while I can. Still in one piece - 38 weeks on Tuesday.

Much sympathy to Lynny - I've been battling with symphisis pubis problems since v early on and it's NOT FUN!!! Saw the physio again on Friday who fitted me with a very attractive support belt/corset thingy and gave me loads of advice for the delivery.

If Lynny or her dh is reading this - look up SPD on the web and get prepared cos you could do yourself serious and possible long term damage during the birth if the midwives etc aren't 100% informed on SPD - make a BIG fuss! But if you're careful it should pretty much disappear afterwards.

It's my birthday on Tuesday so I'm hoping baby doesn't decide to turn up then - Dh and I are having a massive chinese takeaway and I want to be able to enjoy it!

Am v jealous of all of you who've been given estimates of baby's size - all I've been told is not to expect a small one - whatever that means. Isn't the next one supposed to be bigger?

Got some great perineal massage oil from Sprit of Nature which smells of rose petals - it's great for using on a big bump too!

Can't wait to have this baby so I can put my shoes and socks on by myself again!!

All the best everyone! Bet we have loads of bank holiday babies!!

JonahB · 22/05/2005 11:46

Hi Lee, thanks for keeping us posted on Lynny?s news. Pass on all our best wishes and look forward to hearing from her soon.

Coop, I was advised that you can buy your nursing bras from 37 weeks. For any of you ?larger? ladies out there, the only place I could find that stocked anything over a D cup was Bravissimo. How cr*p is that? Thank heavens for the ?big boob shop?, as my DH calls it

McMudda, happy birthday for Tuesday . Enjoy the chinese. I'm booked in for a curry tonight. Keeping my fingers v.v. crossed that it will do one jot of good. Not holding my breath though...

uwila · 22/05/2005 16:50

Hi everyone. Obviously you have seen my news by now. Just popping in ti say hello, and to let you know that all is well with Lord Alexander Uwila. He's been a good little sleeper... until last night which ended in a big argument on whether or not he should sleep in the bed with us. ah, sleepless nights... it's all coming back to me now.

Caesarean recovery is going very well. I'm up and around. Trying not to pick up DD but sometimes I must.

Katz, I haven't sent my sweepstakes £1... firgit what I'm supposed to do... sorry!

uwila · 22/05/2005 16:54

Oh, and Trib, I noticed that you are putting middle names on the stats. So if you want to add them my little prince's full name is Alexander Robert Rathbun ^^

bubbaloo · 22/05/2005 18:14
