oh DD2 has been pretty good at nights through her growth spurt, just very clingy and feeding at least every hour during the day... so i'm not too bad after the last 2 days so far...

DH built DS's 'new' bed yesterday, its a lovely cabin bed that used to be in the spare room at my parents, they decided to claim back more floor space and swapped me for the futon we had that was unused... kinda handy as DS was needing a new bed, his old one was starting to come apart at the headboard in the last couple of weeks.

And other than that i've not done much else since my last post... oh but i need to get rid of my 2 cats- they've not taken a new baby very well and started weeing on the bathroom floor, and we started smelling something musky under the stairs, I said to DH 'it must just be dusty and need a clean out, but when he cleared everything out yesterday he found they'd been pooing in there!! it was disgusting!! I cried!! and have decided its much healthier for all of us to just re-home them now!! I'm heartbroken but i can't risk them doing it again!!

lardybump · 18/05/2009 10:04

NHS direct have adviced me to go to A&E great. If there is anything wrong with DD then DP has said that he will kick their door of its hinges and teach him a lesson. Now I know it is just worry and anger talking but i also know how he is with the children and so know he is capable of it as well.... REally worried now!!!

Anyway a nice trip to hospital for me now so will catch up later...

GYo · 18/05/2009 10:10

morning

Kayz- fingers crossed Af arrives soon... maybe try nats trick of wearing your best underwear!!

LB- answered your other thread

Glask- sorry about the cats... such hard decision. Am I getting confused or is this the second time you've had to do this?

Ses- sorry i missed the night shift was so tired i fell asleep feeding at 4am
Good luck with the MW... even if he hasnt put any wt on it doesnt necessarily mean anything is wrong. Do you feel the letdown reflex at the relevant time? Looking back I think that was my issue, little or no let down so DD had to work too hard to feed. That was solved when they stopped stressing me out!

let us know!

You are right, MIMN are you there?

Diege- question for you about swaddling, or stopping it..I've swaddled the small giraffe since birth and Im happy to continue longer. When it came to stopping how did you do it, did you DDs feel "exposed"? Also did you use the special blankets or sheets? We've been using the blankets but they are fast getting bit short for the SG's long legs ( )

Morning everyone else !

OP posts:
glaskham · 18/05/2009 10:17

GYo- yes its the second time, we used to have 3 cats, and one got 'stressed' while i was PG, now the other 2 have just gone on the same path since we brought DD2 home

LB- hope all is ok with DD.

glaskham · 18/05/2009 10:29

right i'm off for the day i think... got lots to do... including scrubbing under the stairs and hoovering all the cobwebs so i can put everything back in again!! Then i also need to sort the dining table as its actually been taken over by my MASSSSSSIVE pile of clothes that i've been dumping when i take them out of the dryer!!

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 18/05/2009 10:30

MW just been and DS has put on 40g since Sat
Why do they give you a birth weight in lb & oz and then MW weigh-ins are in g??!

LB - that's awful from your neighbours!! Hope you get reassurance.

Kay - definitely put your nicest underwear on!!

GYo - think you could be right about let down reflex... Hopefully will be better as I relax more...

Glask - that's sad about your cats but probably the right decision

juleswastink · 18/05/2009 10:37

lb - hope ds ok

pic s of brackens room on fb

she is 4 months today she is starting weaning today baby rice @ 11am

mommyinthemiddle · 18/05/2009 11:02

i'm still here, baby being very stubborn despite all my efforts

Sorry haven't had time to catch up, briefly skimmed through but you lot talk so fast.
Gutted that can't make the meet up, is it this weekend? Someone better take lots of pics

Has anyone used EPO to help soften cervix? How much did you take internally and or externally? and did it work.

Tried Castor oil yesterday, but nothing, not even diahorrea, don't think i took enough, too scared. I'm not feeling too bad at all, quite enjoying being pregnant its just the not knowing when its going to happen. Plus only 6 weeks until we fly!!!!! Really wanted to try and get babe to have injections before we fly, does anyone know if the docs will give before usual 8 weeks? Even if we had to go private? Just with all the swine flu etc and being in confined space for 15 hours and recycled air would make me feel a little better.

GYo · 18/05/2009 11:18

Hurray for 40g Ses!! Thats fab news. Was the MW more supportiove today?

Glask- sorry about the cats Good luck with the housework stuff. What do you do with kids whilst doing stuff? Esp DD2?

LB- good luck at hospital, hope its nothing for DDs sake (and yours/ DPs!)

MINM- sorry you are still hanging on... I've not tried anything other than sex and clary sage in a burner when in the bath.. I think sex did it for us though.. good luck. Cant remember do you know the gender?

Wondering what to do today. Should go out for a long walk since i was out of action exercise wise last week as I was sick. Not tempting though.

Kayzr · 18/05/2009 11:33

Right I tested!! BFN!!! So AF is on holiday. Best underwear is on!!

Moosy · 18/05/2009 11:42

Heehee, I just found my birth announcement for DD2, here's the last sentence:
"There will never ever be a number 3 though "

Kayz, hope AF turns up soon!

LB, hope all is well with DD, what wanky neighbours you have

Ses, well done with the weight gain, are the MWs leaving you alone now?

GYo, glad you're feeling better, but if your weather's anything like it is here I don't blame you for not wanting to go out, we have sideways rain

I had a good day yesterday, I even went to sainsburys with DH! Went to bed a bit late though (9.30!) and got woken up by DD2's coughing at 6.30 so not the best night. Also feel like I'm getting her cold

DH had a strop yesterday, he was grumping about me being all useless and tired etc and snapped "I'm just so fed up with you" I replied, "Well I'm fed up with me too, and I'm fed up with you, so I win." He didn't reply

sorkycakey · 18/05/2009 12:10

MinM the very earliest a baby can have jabs is 8 weeks.
Probably best to get them done over there a wee bit later. It won't harm baby to wait a bit, probably better if they do.

Ses Yay for 1.4 ounces (stupid mw's and lack of conversion for you)

Hope Dd is okay LB

pants ought to do it Kayz

glaskham · 18/05/2009 12:32

Ses- well done on weight gain... it is slow in the first couple of weeks then should pick up a bit more when he's got the hang of it.

Gyo- DS normally goes in his room for a play/nap/watch a video, DD1 will lie on the sofa and have a nap/watch tv, and DD2 will normally have a good feed then a good sleep. This morning i sorted out a load of clothes (but only about half the pile) and i did it with DD2 in the sling and DD1 was playing with her dolls and her buggy in the living room...the hardest point for doing housework is when they just start crawling/toddling... i found i could only get things done in their big afternoon naps then... but then i found the activity station things, so i have to have them between about 6 and 12mths to keep them stationary and entertained so i can do some bits around the house.

glaskham · 18/05/2009 12:33

MinM- Hi, sorry baby is being stubborn, and i know everyone will be telling you this but he'she will come in their own sweet time!! enjoy the peace of being PG while you can!! I'd have loved that extra 2 mths of pregnancy!! haha!!

Starshinetiger · 18/05/2009 12:58

Just not having time to catch up lately...
Ses - yay for weight gain, sounds like you're doing fab!
LB - boo to ignorant neighbours. Hope all is okay at A&E, what a pain to have to go there. Boo also to DH, but yay that he knew he was in the wrong and he made it up to you (great idea to have lobster!)
MinM - sending you labour vibes. Am convinced that me falling on my bum the day before helped me go into labour (wouldn't advise it though) - was also playing footie with DS - have you tried a bit of footie or other physical activity (what like the constant activity that is children?!) with your DDs?
Diege - hope your Cardiff trip goes smoothly.

Right, must finish my choccie cake before DD wakes up - it's dairy, egg and wheat free, but even DH says it tastes okay!
Will try to check in later.

juleswastink · 18/05/2009 13:30

glas - i have the leafrog one learn and groove station fantastic bought it onebay cheaper

cgi.ebay.co.uk/LEAP-FROG-LEARN-AND-GROOVE-ACTIVITY-STATION-NEW_W0QQitemZ270381337961QQcmdZViewItemQQ ptZUKToysGamesToysCA?hash=item270381337961&trksid=p3286.c0.m14&trkparms=72%3A1696%7C66%3A2%7C6 5%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50

glaskham · 18/05/2009 14:00

Tink- i had the mothercare one for the other 2, but think i'm gonna get the pink bright starts one for Ruby, obviously she wont be able to go in it till she's the size of an average 4mth old but can't wait to get her in it!!

glaskham · 18/05/2009 14:26

Right i'm off to sort some housework- just added tons of pics of the DC's to my FB... tired me out!!

lardybump · 18/05/2009 16:07

Just back from a&e. Her throat is very inflamed but chest is clear. Lots of calpol and cuddles prescribed!!!!

I left the windows open a little bit when i left and the fecking idiots lit it again today so my whole house now stinks... I wouldn't let someone smoke in my house so it just isnt acceptable in my eyes.... dp put it out with a hose yesterday so they must have used petrol or something to get it going today. He is going to go mad when he gets home!!!

Sorry must dash dd needs feeding....

Kayzr · 18/05/2009 16:28

LB, ring the police or fire service. it's illegal to have a fire at this time of day as our neighbours got in trouble a few weeks ago.

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 18/05/2009 17:59

LB - that's disgraceful! I'd phone someone wether it be the police, the fire brigade or environmental health.

Finally on laptop but only briefly as DS needs another feed. Wanted to update the list though:
