Saw the midwife today and she did a sweep on my request. Was a little uncomfortable and hard for her to reach cervix wasn't favourable, still hard and tubular were her words, but she will give me another next week.
Will try and get on tomorrow and catch up properly with you all.

Good morning

Kayzr · 13/05/2009 07:20

Morning.

Nat, Yay for sleeping through!!!! I usually find that films that are meant to be brilliant are rubbish too. I've got Inkheart to watch and I'm hoping it will good.

LB, I would take in a sample just to be on the safe side. I've never had it with either of my boys.

I've been looking at the Betty's menu and I just have no idea what I am going to have. It all sounds so nice.

Just updating DS2's age.

A girl IDOB! how fabulous and fantastic news about your scan, I'm really pleased for you.

Glad the stuff came Diege

Dd1 has asked to go to school so I've been a bit busy dealing with the fallout from that bombshell. She is going to attend a few transition days after halfterm and if she likes it she starts full time in Sept.

Dd2 is nursing her way through a 12 week growth spurt and I'm bloody tired! 6 feeds last night and 2 full nappies and 7 feeds the night before.
Hopefully she'll go back to her normal pattern soon.

MinM I'm sure I had a guess on your syndicate and now it's not there

25th May-1am-9lb2oz-boy

I'm on my phone so would someone be kind enough to post that into the syndicate please?

Diege · 13/05/2009 08:12

Morning! Great news about the sleep Nat! You must feel like a new woman (even if you have another hangover ). Is the slum dog film on dvd already? One I strongly recommend is The Boy In Striped Pyjamas, though be prepared to blubber!
KAYZ, I must have a look at the Betty's menu - is there an non-line one do you know?
Lovely and sunny here too, but as Nat says rain tomorrow and Friday which is always the way.
GLASK, that is so kind about the dress, but alas I think it would be too big as I am very petite (read boyish figure) and usually an 8. So kind of you to offer though - maybe save until your next baby??
Hope everyone is well x

Kayzr · 13/05/2009 08:29

x-posts SORKY! Wow that must have been a bit of a shock about school - did you see it coming? Hope the growth spurt is short-lived if you see what I mean!
Thanks KAYZ! Mmmm, am torn between 3 dishes at the moment, plus the ice creams look delicious! Not long to go now!
Tried to order all my baby stuff from the Boots site last night and the bleedin' thing crashed just as I was getting to final page of checkout . Took over an hour and I have lost the will to live...Will try again later though

NatalieJane · 13/05/2009 09:19

Bloody hell, have just re-checked the weather, it is showing rain, fairly constantly from this afternoon until next Tuesday.... Hate wet weekends.

Sorky, agree with Diege I bet the school thing came as a shock! Hope the extra feeds die down soon for you, can remember the growth spurts, they weren't much fun.

Diege, Slumdog isn't out on DVD yet.... Sorry about Boots, what a PITA! I wonder if you could call up the shopping list in your computer history? And I am not hungover, could murder a big fatty greasy bacon and egg sarnie, but no headache in sight!

Wish I could learn how to make bacon and eggs sarnies!! Or rather, wish I wasn't such a wussy cook and could handle things spitting boiling hot fat at me!

NatalieJane · 13/05/2009 09:20

Oh annnnnnndd, the meet-up, grrrrr at myself, I keep forgetting it...

I can't come I'm afraid DH is on call Will be at the next one with bells on though (as long as it's not a weekend he's on call again!)

sorkycakey · 13/05/2009 09:27

Hello Diege have posted to FB for you.

Yes it was a bit of a blow and sort of anticipated, but not fully expected iyswim.
She's been playing out the front with the other children in the close since Easter, as has Ds1, and I think it's been the daily contact with them that's prompted it. She states her reasons as "I'd just like to try it" and "It'd be cool to make some more friends", can't argue with that.

We've talked about it and she might be 7, but she knows her own mind. I have to respect her decision to try school, even though it's not what I wanted for her.
I'll be totally honest, I'm gutted!

I'm trying to be impartial about it, answering her questions without bias because I don't want her to feel like I don't support her choice if she does decide he wants to go full-time in September.

We've just ordered some bits of uniform from Next so she won't stand out when she does her trial days (they can always be sold on or passed on).
Quite pleased I've followed the NC now, though I'm wondering how she'll cope when she discovers that she's already done the Maths & Science for the year

glaskham · 13/05/2009 09:46

Oh sorky that must have been a bit of a blow for you... but good on you for supporting her decision. I think if she tries it for herself and decides to stay HS'ed you'll not have any niggles about holding her back from 'school life' that her friends had IYKWIM??

Diege- I thought it'd be too big but thought i'd offer as its such a lovely dress and i'm gutted i didn't get to wear it more!! I think i only got it 2 weeks before my waters broke!! It'll be a shame to sell it for next to nothing on ebay or a car boot when i could have given it to someone i 'knew' and it being appreciated more...

Kayz- why did you link to the menu???!!! I just couldn't resist looking again and now i'm stuck again... I'm now torn between all the dishes again!! i thought i'd decided after looking last time!!

I got up early with DH this morning and actually had time to make an effort and straightened my hair... The fake GHD's are just like the real ones but i just feel so ripped off that i thoguht i was paying so much for genuine ones!!

sorkycakey · 13/05/2009 10:05

I don't know how I've managed to prise the computer from the kids, but here I am
Hmm, Betty's, decisions, decisions!
I think I'll have the Club Sandwich (maybe some chips) and the Sundae, yum!

Right, on Sorky's great giveaway she has masses of baby girl clothes to giveaway for FREE
I'm not doing a carboot (my sister says she felt pillaged when she did one) and can't be arsed to get tuppence for fab stuff on ebay.

I WON"T BE HAVIN ANYMORE!! ahem, before you all suggest it hehe x

I've got a M&P cream fur dress with matching t-shirt in newborn and a snowsuit with hat both worn once (Dd2 was too long for them) would be perfect for a Winter baby. Actually, I have another snowsuit from Linea too.

She has just outgrown the 0-3 clothes, so there's a full wardrobe there for someone, I can count up what's available if you like.
most of it has not been worn at all
It's mainly Next, some Tu sleepsuits, all in excellent condition if I do say so myself.

I'd be grateful for some baby clothes sorky... anything would help for DD2...

DD1 is walking round the room singing.... worst thing is she's singing 'i'm gonna start a fight, so what i'm a rock star'!!! She's Pink mad right now... and i dont know where it came from- she also loves Lady Gaga's Pokerface... and sings 'poker poker face'... so cute!! Have a little diva on my hands i think!!

glaskham · 13/05/2009 10:28

Have just been browsing the menu again... think i may go for the club sandwich as i remember you said it was lovely sorky... the brown bread ice cream sundae sounds delish!! may have to have that!!

Diege · 13/05/2009 10:41

SORKY, dd1 is 7 too and yes, they do know their own mind I think you're doing the right thing letting her try it out tbh, and must be satisfying knowing that she has already covered a lot of ground that the others haven't touched yet.
GLASK, you never know you might get a good price on e-bay? Not sure how maternity wear sells (yet!) but might be worth a try?
I'll have lots of baby boy/neutral stuff that people are welcome to towards end of summer. Aren't we enviromentally friendly on the wagon! Plus of course the birth ball, wedge etc courtesy of Sorky!
NAT, ahh yes see what you mean about the dvd . Am looking forward to seeing it myself. Shame you can't make the York meet-up
Am determined to have a productive day today. Have shaved my legs, lunged at bikini line (let's just say I cannot go into labour this week )slapped a bit of self-tan onto corned beef legs, and have put a wash on. That's me beat

glaskham · 13/05/2009 10:50

Diege- i've had a gander at ebay selling prices and its just not worth it for what i've seen other things sell for at the moment. I mean i did pretty well on my spending with maternity wear, but bought twice as much as i needed!! I'm not too bothered about the money but i'd prefer it to go to someone i know as a favour and maybe passed on again than just sold for tuppence on ebay/car boot. Think everything is selling poor on ebay right now... but i have a massive pile of maternity clothes in the corner of my bedroom that i want rid of!!

Anyone else on her a size 12/14/16 and need any maternity clothing? I have some bits in all 3 sizes due to buying before i was massive and loosing weight while PG, all is in good condition and only used for about 5mths!! Just want rid!! If no-one wants it i'll take it to a carboot... but would rather not.

Morning ladies.

Owen went through again. Put him down at 8 and he woke up at 6.. There was blood in his nappy again so have to send off a sample of his wee if I can catch it.

Sorky so sorry DD1 wants to go to school but I think you are handling it fantastically I am$ not sure I would be so calm...

Diege ever the lady....... By the end of my pg what i couldn't see wasnt there iykwim...

Got owen weighted last night and he has put on 2 oz in two weeks so that is a grand total of 6 oz in a month...... He has also dropped another 1/2 centile.... Have chased dr today who will chase hospital...

We are potty training today we have had 3 successful wee's while she was wearing nothing on bottom but when I put trousers on she forgets she has no nappy on and just weed... still first day today so not too bad..

glaskham · 13/05/2009 11:08

morning LB- hope you get results fast on the urine sample... must be a tad worrying. Sorry also for the weight loss- i know how it is, Ruby has dropped off all the centiles now, (as in below the 0.4th centile!!).

i'm off for the morning now... will be feeding ruby then doing the nursery run... may get on again this afternoon if i'm lucky!!

sorkycakey · 13/05/2009 11:26

Ds2 is doing the toilet training this week too LB. He's doing pretty much the same.

No pants=goes to toilet, pants on=pee all over.

We're staying in house this week to see if he can crack it.

So far I haven't had to prompt him from removing his nappy this morning and I found him on the toilet twice, both times doing a wee. Not sure how he'll do with a poo tbh

Got to get back to my sorting....

Ooh almost forgot, Glask I'll bring the bits to York for you, save the postage

Bloody good job I'm bringing the Galaxy!

[Dances around] My bike is here!!!!!!!!! Well I can't pick it up until tomorrow as I have to wait for our new freezer.

I am having a croque-monsieur and maybe some chips to share with DS1.

Diege · 13/05/2009 11:50

LB and SORKY, I am also in the midsts of potty training with dd3 - what a hard slog this time around! Our problem is more poo than wee related, linked I think to constipation which she's had since day one really. So lots of changes due to shall we say 'generous smudges' which is par for the course I hear with this problem.
LB, I like the 'if you can't see it it's not there' approach . I am currently hovering on one buttock due to razer-related 'underneath' injury
