I think it needs to be think and greasy so it makes a waterproof barrier so moisturiser might not be quite up to the job. Sudocrem will hopefully keep away any infections too if the skin is open.

lardybump · 10/05/2009 20:40

Moosy DS is out of the bath and suitably white faced from the sudocrem

glaskham · 10/05/2009 21:48

evening- LB- just want to second the sudocrem, DS was very chubby his first summer and got sore where sick got in his crease under his chin, sudocrem worked well for him.

SES- glad to hear all is going well!! hope recovery is good enough that you get home tomorrow- you feel much more mobile once you have to get in and out of a normal bed and have your own surroundings etc- i certainly felt better just for being home after mine.

Kayzr · 11/05/2009 07:28

Morning,

Ses, I am glad everything is going well!!

LB< Sudocrem is great stuff so hopefully it will help DS.

We had a power cut yesterday so spent most of the day at Mum's so I could watch the Grand Prix and football. We have had a bit of great news here!! Tax credits have paid us extra to cover for DH getting his new job so we are rich[evil cackle]!! Well not rich but we have enough to treat ourselves a bit for a change.

Hope you are all well.

lardybump · 11/05/2009 07:54

Morning all..... Bad night here. DS pood yesterday evening at about 11. So I changed him but woke him up. So fed him back to sleep only for him to poo again. So laid him down to change him and he was sick everywhere. By this time he was wide awake.

Fed him again but he didnt go back to sleep until 3 this mornig... DP woke me up at 4 when he got up for work, and DS woke for another feed. DD then woke up at 6. I let her come into my bed and told her we would have breakfast when owen woke up (He was asleep on my chest). I caught her poking him and trying to open his eyes while shouting "owen awake breakfast time"!!! Little monkey........

I am so tired that I really am going to bed at 7 with DD tonight....

DS has his first lot of jabs today (only 3 weeks late) I am dreading it....

Diege · 11/05/2009 08:28

Morning! Sorry for rubbish night LB - really hope you can get to the bottom of ds's problems; must be very frustrating. When will you hear about possible new appointment do you think?
KAYZ, that's nice news about the tax credits - think you and dh deserve a bit of a treat!
SES, hope all is goping well and that you are home soon. AS Glask says must be so much easier to recover in your own surroundings!
First proper day wfh today, so planning on a mixture of essay marking, tidying up, and may even dust off the old pilates dvd (I say 'may').
Lovely sunny weather here, although it always seems to cloud over by 10! Hope everyone is well xx

juleswastink · 11/05/2009 10:23

sudocrem is good we use tommee tippee dribble bibs when feeding and mussys.

NatalieJane · 11/05/2009 10:52

Hello

Ses, huge congrats to you and Mr. Ses I'm sorry I couldn't get on sooner (got Kayz message on Saturday, and just realised I didn't reply - sorry Kayz! ) have had v. busy weekend, in fact think this is the first time the pooter's been on for days! Anyway, you make sure you get lots and lots of rest, let everyone else run around after you for as long as poss (!!), but it sound's like you are doing brilliantly!

LB, really sorry DS, and you, are still going through the mill. You sound so strong though, just make sure you give yourself chance for a proper rest every now and then. You have to be looking after yourself as well.

Moosy, sorry for the sickness, with any luck, it'll be a one off.

Diege, hoorah for WFH

Kay, hoorah for TC's

And I have another hoorah, DS3, last bottle last night at 8.30, slept right through till 7 this morning!!!

So what did we do over the weekend? Ermmmm..... oh Friday, when I left here, friend came round, then next door neighbour came round, bunged a load of frozen crappy food in the oven for the kids , nextdoor went, friend went, we got kids into bed, then I went to friend's house, came home about 1.30am, DH was still up so we got talking (among other things ) and we were still talking at gone 5am! I was up in less than 2 hours to feed Mikey and sort older ones out! Saturday, aside from walking round like a still slightly drunk zombie all day, we had to go to town, in the rain, it wasn't good, yesterday DS1 had a party at Blackpool Zoo, the birthday girl's mum decided she wanted all of the kid's faces painting up as lions, so I was round at their house at 9 o'clock yesterday morning trying to be cheery, bright eyed, and not dead looking, while trying to keep 6 kids still while I painted them! Then we did the Tesco shop while DS1 was out, went to get DS1 just after 6, finally managed to get out of their house at 7, DH did a chicken stir-fry, fell into bed not long after Mikey had that last bottle and feel ever-so-slightly more alive today! Could still sleep for a week though. Have decided next weekend, no all late night drinking sessions, DS1 has SAT's all this week so depending on weather, we'll either get the bouncy castle/BBQ out on Sunday, or spend the day on the Wii and with board games or something, let him wind down a bit, but most importantly of all, I will not be drunk, I will not get drunk, and I certainly am not spending another day drunk from the night before!!

Tell you what though, we had a bloody good time!!

lastboxoftampons · 11/05/2009 11:00

Hello everyone!

Ses, glad to hear that Owen is feeding well - and you sound amazing for having just given birth! Hoping you and DS get home soon!

now if MINM is first, and Diege is second, then I'm... that said, I am SO sick of people telling me Oh, you still have so long to go! I know 11 weeks is a while, but I've done 29 already, I'm aware that it's not all going to fly by. And these are women who have just had their own, so you'd think there might be a touch of sympathy in there! And when I mentioned I was starting to get slightly uncomfortable the one friend said Don't say that, you still have ages! Took all my strength not to remind her how she complained nearly all the way through her two pregnancies!

ANYWAY, sorry for the rant!

LB, sorry you had a crap night I hope you get some early sleep tonight! And, as annoying as I'm sure it was, your DD sounds adorable!

Sorky - yay for proper laughing! so cute!

Moos - sorry you're not feeling well but it's all worth it in the end!!

Kay - excellent news on the tax return front. Do you have anything in mind for the special treat?

Tink - teeth already!?!? Where does the time go? Well done, Bracken!

Diege · 11/05/2009 11:15

Hi TINKS! Can't believe B has teeth coming through already!! Was dd1 the same?
NAT, I know what it is about your posts...you make me feel so old and knackered! I keep on thinking 'how can she stay up so late and still do stuff the next day' and then I remember you are young!!! Sounds a really excellent weekend . BTW, are you still planning on coming to York meet-up?
LBOX, I always find that when you get to 30 weeks it just flies. Your friends are probably slightly envious that you have it all to look forward to; I know I was a bit in the early days with a new baby oddly enough!
Well have got through the grand total of one essay, and have a target of 10 so had better get on...Have just put some curly fired into oven - my new craving!!

Diege · 11/05/2009 11:16

curly fries

NatalieJane · 11/05/2009 11:38

LMAO, Diege, if it makes you feel any younger better, I feel like a 152 year old, who has just done a double marathon! Hence the 'pre-planned, never to be interupted, I will not get drunk' weekend planned!

Am sure my liver needs a break!

Diege · 11/05/2009 12:46

Nah, liver regenerates, you'll be fine after a few days off Can't believe I'll be 39 in a few weeks time!!! Always intended getting this baby lark out of the way before I was 40 though, plus started relatively late at 31, so not doing too bad. I also feel at least 100 (body, but more mind).
Magnum bar is calling me from freezer....back later!

Diege · 11/05/2009 12:56

Feel sooo sick!!! Magnum was yummy, but now having regrets. Poor baby is jumping around like a crazy frog, and I just want to sleep! Have to say the one I had (dark choc, milk, white, with chunks of brownie) not half as nice as the white ones!

Kayzr · 11/05/2009 13:04

Hello!!

Here is my treat!! I can't wait to get it. Should be next week!!!

Hope you are all ok. I'm feeling really tired today so might go for a nap!!

SesIsNowCountingdownthedays · 11/05/2009 13:38

Looks like a pretty good treat Kay

Still in PFB bliss here even though he was awake most of the night. MW reckons he's a greedy wotsit and just hope my milk comes in sooner rather than later.

In the end after breakfast this morning, one of the MW set me up co-sleeping so I got a couple of hours sleep and he could feed as he wanted. It seemed to work quite well and DH said we looked v cute when he arrived.

Plan is still to go home later today but waiting on dr (story of my life!) Will then be back on laptop so easier to keep up to date with you guys when I get chance!

sorkycakey · 11/05/2009 14:12

diege I posted your parcel this morning

Diege · 11/05/2009 14:49

Agree, that does look a good treat KAYZ
Many thanks Sorky! Will let you know when it arrives
SES! You sound so together and well done on grabbing a few hours sleep! I bet it seems amazing that this time last week you didn;t have a baby yet - does he feel like he's been here forever? Hopefully you can get home today!
May try and have a nap now - one of the many benefits I'm finding of being at home!

juleswastink · 11/05/2009 15:18

hi

diege - no dd1 got first tooth @ 9 months!!
kay - great treat

received 2nd hello kitty clock from ebay for brackens room doent work either
dh has bought me crayola alarm clock like dd1s for her room

Diege · 11/05/2009 16:50

Hi TINKS - 9 months sounds early too! Think my lot were over 12 months.
Must tidy up a bit as breakfast things still on table . Am doing a salad for tea (minimum effort); feel so tired! No one told me this being at home thing would be so tiring

juleswastink · 11/05/2009 16:56

it is funny how kids vary when they get teeth good luck tidying up. being pregnant is tiring isnt it. you must be knackered having others to run around after what ages r they?
i am going to legs, bums and tums tonite and wed. determined to loose baby weight for summer.

Diege · 11/05/2009 17:10

They're 7, 6 and 3, although I have no excuse today as they are all at school/nursery . I'm the sort of person that feels more tired when I haven't actually got anything physical to do - marking essays online numbs my brain and makes me want to sleep! Good luck with class - sounds fun actually!

idreamofbeanie · 11/05/2009 20:18

Hi all,

I had my 20 week scan today - everything was great and we saw the baby sucking it's thumb, swallowing fluid and generally bouncing around. It was fantastic . Then she had a little look between beanies legs and she is 90% sure we are having a girl. I feel really bad but I'm not as excited about that as I should be. I'm not disappointed at all but I am a complete tomboy and when I volunteered for a kids charity I always worked with the boys (usually the naughty boisterous little boys). I feel a bit out of my depth with a little girl. I know that's crazy . I just feel less confident about being a good mum to my little girl. Am I just mad or has anyone else felt like this?

Jules - wow, I can't believe Bracken is getting a tooth already. Time has just flown by.

Diege - yah for wfh

Ses - hope you manage to pin a dr down and get home soon. Sounds like the feeding is going well. Congratulations again. Love the sound of PFB bliss .

Kay - treat looks good.

LBOT - poor you, try to ignore it. Once people know you are pregnant they seem to have a compulsion to share all those terrible birth stories, warn you of all the horrible symptoms you might still get and generally point out how much worse you will feel in the 3rd trimester or when baby arrives! Are pregnancy hormones a good enough excuse for slapping them?

juleswastink · 11/05/2009 22:26

diege - you do have your work cut out
idob - great news

Starshinetiger · 12/05/2009 08:30

Yay for great scan IDOB - don't worry about how you feel about it. When your baby arrives, you will love her (/Him - in case they have it wrong - they did with Gruff). Think it's entirely normal to have thoughts about how you will be as a Mum and especially if all your experience is with boys. You may well have a little girl who is a tomboy too - I've seen some quite boisterous toddler girls, so I wouldn't worry too much
