Argh, DD1 is now up and down here watching TV so I have both DC on my own till DH gets in. So much for my plans of a tidy up and then early night

Auld, if I were you I would get him to phone up again at bathtime

I will reconsider the mirena thing and ask doctor about side effects of both. It just seems to me that it would be easier to have something in my arm than embedded in my cervix . I think what I'm most interested in is which is less likely to give me one constant period. I'm not TOOO worried about a little scar on my arm because the skin isn't that flawless anyway, so it probably wouldn't be noticeable.

You girls are great, I dread to think what some of the earth mothers elsewhere would have to say about the vibrochair .

Juwesm · 05/05/2009 20:39

Quick one re: coil/ Mirena - DH maintains he was born clutching his Mum's coil in his wee fist! I have always assumed this to be a bit of an urban family myth, but who knows.....

Nutty, mw told me that coil technology has come on a lot so there are many fewer problems and side effects now. Apart from the obvious one abou it picking up 5Live very loudly while you're in Asda, of course.

I need to sort out contraception too. I am really worried about it TBH. DD1 was conceived on the pill and DD2 was concieved while on mini pill AND exclusively breasfeeding an almost 6 month old. I hate comdoms but TBH I think we are going to have to use them, alongside another form of contracteption as I honestly don't know what I would do if I got pregnant again!

Juwesm · 05/05/2009 21:33

"once again its warm and moist folks with the occasional downpour "

SNORT!!!

Juwesm · 05/05/2009 21:36

JennyP - Implant/ injectable/ coil might be the answer.

BTW - You could be Soon2beJennyPenny2 for a while, to ease people in

BabyBolat · 05/05/2009 22:29

Evening - just popping in - we are just finishing the second coat of the dining room (well DH is - I have left him to it to do the last few bits as he is trying to make up for being nasty about my lasagne (if he only knew how hard it was to actually get that done - to be fair am not surprised it didn't taste as nice as normal as it took 3 hours to make as I kept having to stop to feed / soothe / stand doing nothing with Karahan!) BUT he didn't have to say it so rudely!!!

Re coil - my mum got pregnant three times on it (with three lovely girls!) and when I was on it, I could feel it constantly and when I had my period I could actually feel it embed in side - I was in agony and in tears every day for 7 days a month, couldn't walk or do anything so it was out within three months! Will never get one again even if they could guarantee it had improved!

It is scary that between us we seem to know more than the drs - I was told without question that I couldn't have the injection / implant because of the estrogen! grrr!

LOL at Radio FM! Sure MM could tell us the right moves to tune it!

Auld bless your MIL - but yeah get DH to call at bath time everyday - you will get lovely evenings free!!

Nutty NEVER stop being silly!

Juw - Question for you - I have been using hydro-q cream from the dr for Kara's nappy rash which has pretty much cleared up now - should I stop using it and just continue with the metanium and vaseling mix or carry on even though the cracked skin etc has all gone?

Auld can you allocate some time each day for DD1 to help him feel less left out?

It must be really difficult on the one hand knowing why he is playing up but still having to pull him up on it!

Juwesm · 05/05/2009 22:40

BB - I would stop using the HC cream as soon as all signs of redness/ inflammation have gone. Best to use steroids for the shortest time possible, esp on baby skin. But if it flares again, you can then get back with it ASAP, and hopefully a couple of days treatment will get it under control again.

BabyBolat · 05/05/2009 22:50

Cool, that's what I thought - it's still pink but def not red or raw in anyway like before and I don't want to over-use it iykwim! Thanks!

Oooh Karahan's passport came today (less than a week!) and it's so strange - I know this is going to sound silly but made me realise he is actually a real life person!!!
