Hi everyone! I hope you are all ok. So....are we supposed to text our buddy when we go into labour?

I am in a good mood today because my hospital consultant has given her support for me to have a home birth Finally I feel as if I am actually not going mad! She said that she had looked at all my information and that based on the support of my psychiatrist and my scan results, there don't appear to be any more risks for me than there would for the average person. This was what I thought too.....cannot understand the midwife's position at all but they are apparently going to investigate what happened there.

I was beginning to panic because tomorrow I will be 37 weeks and this is still all up in the air. Although I don't think this baby will come early, I want to know that provision is in place for me to have a midwife when I go into labour.

I am still struggling with names - think I will have to wait til the baby is born!

Swaliswan · 24/03/2009 22:03

Oh, OK then Springy.

Electra - yes, text me when you go into labour!

Night All x

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 24/03/2009 22:04

Electra - oh thats fantastic you can have your HB and yup when you go into labour, when you start getting any signs etc. you can text your buddy now if you like, might make it easier to remember at when it comes to it

electra · 24/03/2009 22:07

Thanks Swaliswan and Nutty!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 24/03/2009 22:21

Springy - hows it going on the labour progression front??

OP posts:
SpringySunshine · 24/03/2009 22:24

electra, yay for the HB I'm so pleased for you! Of course it should never have been in any doubt, but at least it's sorted now Wonderful

SpringySunshine · 24/03/2009 22:26

Slowly It's all slowed right down. I think I may ask for some induction sex later & hope for the best.

Where's BB gone? I'm scared she'll reappear with her wand

I hope she & her DH are talking again now, at least...

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 24/03/2009 22:29

Springy - you know i was thinking the same thing about BB, well i was wondering if she had snuck of quietly to give birth i hope so too.

good luck with the induction sex!!

OP posts:
SpringySunshine · 24/03/2009 22:32

I hope she has. I really want some baby action here! All this suspense is killing me!

& yeah... I think I should be able to get some, but he's in the other room watching stuff on his laptop at the moment after we had a disagreement, so it's not guaranteed

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 24/03/2009 22:37

well it can be induction sex and make up sex at the same time

hope it was only a small disagreement xx

SpringySunshine · 24/03/2009 22:46

Oh, it was. Nothing major at all. I nearly cried, but that's just because I'm greatly hormonal

It was about a phonecall from MIL, but there's no big drama. I get the impression that she was talking about me, but I heard him say 'he's not due for another 2 & a half weeks!' at one point, so afterwards I asked what was said about our baby. Seeing as it's relevant. & he got all defensive about it & said I shouldn't be listening in on a private conversation () even though he was 3 feet away from me in a silent room.

As I say, I think it's because something was said about me & he thought that I was interrogating him about that, but I wasn't. Silly man. But yeah, we'll be absolutely fine after he's had his bit of rubbish tv time

electra · 24/03/2009 22:52

Thanks springy! Induction sex worked for me with dd2...

SpringySunshine · 24/03/2009 22:53

Ooh, really? How far gone were you? Did you have other signs?

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 24/03/2009 22:54

oh thats cool then, DH used to be a bit like that mind, he was a bit touchy now and again re MIL and stuff she said/did as it was his mum (which is fair enough, i was a bit hot on the case at one point ), then she started showing her true colours and now he tells me everything well aside from the stuff he thinks i should be protected from

tis all part of marrige teething but i'm not telling you anything you dont know

OP posts:
SpringySunshine · 24/03/2009 22:56

Yeah, I mostly just leave it. I just wanted to know what she was saying about our son. I'm sure I'm probably keeping them waiting too long & being spiteful & useless in not providing them with their grandchild at their convenience

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 24/03/2009 23:05

LOL yep not birthing to order is really spitefull and useless springy, get a wiggle on

MIL has it in her head that she's taking me to hospital when the time comes!! hahahahaha not a chance!!! i will be taking a taxi/ letting dh drive with l plates/driving myself/ calling a friend for a lift or even walking if i have to!!

OP posts:
SpringySunshine · 24/03/2009 23:07

Oh God, can you imagine trying to labour with her in charge? She'd decide she needed to stop off to do a quick shop, or something. I think walking really would be the better plan, even with your back / SPD / labour

SpringySunshine · 24/03/2009 23:09

I've just been invited to bed, so I'll be off then!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 24/03/2009 23:14

LOL tell me about it!! it would be safer for her not to take me really 5 years of pent up vitrol let loose with me having a perfectly good excuse to let it all out ooooohhhh i would have a field day hee hee

walking is safer for all parties involved
