(good thing it isn't English coursework as well)

bronze · 24/03/2009 17:26

Evrens nice. I like E names though

BabyBolat · 24/03/2009 17:27

I like E and N names I love the name nurullah (nuri for short) but it's DHs brothers name and he wont have it!

bronze · 24/03/2009 17:28

lulu is Shiro male or female?

BabyBolat · 24/03/2009 17:29

I also like Eren and Emre - again he will hate them!

I names are also nice!

LuLuBai · 24/03/2009 17:30

I like Evren BB. You can but hope.

I am going round in circles. Currently cross referencing between Bounty baby names, baby name map, popular baby names, nymbler and behind the name. Pretty much anything I find that I vaguelly like has already been vetoed by DH.

LuLuBai · 24/03/2009 17:30

bronze I think Shiro was male, but worth double checking that. Can't remember which website I found it on now.

conkertree · 24/03/2009 17:32

i've been looking at babynology.com - has a few scottish names i hadnt seen elsewhere so might be the same with turkish - i'm not sure

bronze · 24/03/2009 17:34

My favourites are biblical names. My most favourite is Elijah and I also like Eli, Elias and Gideon. He hates them.
The only biblical names he'll agree to are Joel and Joseph. Both are J and I was avoiding J, Joel sounds odd as our surname ends in ll and I knew a horrible Joesph thats put me off. Thing is I know theyre prefectly good names just dont make me go I love it.
I dream the babies called Elijah and find it really hard to imagine it as otherwise now.

Middle name is sorted. John.

Girls name was Elin so it has to go and be aboy doesnt it.

conkertree · 24/03/2009 17:37

the only person i've discussed names with is my sister and she doesnt really like my boys name but mostly cause she knew someone at school that she didnt like - so i think she will get over it if it's a boy.

bronze · 24/03/2009 17:39

to be honest I dont mind what othe rpeople think of my choices (though I would rather they kept quiet ) I just want them to side with me or find a suggestion both dh and I like.

conkertree · 24/03/2009 17:40

but i know what you mean bronze - before we had ds - i knew i loved the name struan - it just felt right - this time there are nasmes i like but they don set the house on fire.

SpringySunshine · 24/03/2009 17:41

Still sleeping? I didn't sleep at all! Not even for 10 minutes! I lay in bed for a bit because my sofa was completely disassembled & my back hurt, but then got up when the washing machine finished & carried on. So HA.

My tummy hurts now, though

Boff, your colleagues sound lovely. Am a bit

BabyBolat · 24/03/2009 17:42

I LOVE ELijah and Gideon - I promised DH he could have a turkish names which means my favourite names are never going to happen but there are some beautiful ones - girls are much easier!

I think if people can't be nice they should be quiet as it is personal choice!!! It drives me crazy when people say they hate such and such a name when you have your heart set on it - that's why we have said nothing to anyone in RL!

LuLuBai · 24/03/2009 17:43

oooh I haven't looked at Babynology conker - thanks for that.

I like all those names bronze. I know a child called Joel Joshua James so I have got used to all those Js but agree that Elijah John sounds better. How about Isaac?

bronze · 24/03/2009 17:51

another that makes me go thats nice but not woo I love it. Its annoying because fo rme its really important I love it whereas I think dh just needs to like it.
BB do you get to pick next time? I think you must insist now.
The boys have biblical names though really common ones (names after dh and my brother) but dd has a welsh name. We would have gone welsh again with Elin if it had been a girl so I think biblical would be nice again for a boy.
I've read the book of 50000 baby names through, well the boys 25000 anyway and am still stuck.
Do you think I could get a friend to take me to the registery office before DH gets a chance he can always call him EJ

bronze · 24/03/2009 17:52

In fact BB if DH gets to have his turkish name then you should get more say in which one

BoffinMum · 24/03/2009 17:57

I think I might get the baby a little music box. All of them loved their music boxes.

BoffinMum · 24/03/2009 17:59

BB what about Bircan? Pronounced beer-zhan everyone. (Sorry, can't do the cidilla things on this). Sounds nice with Bolat. And Yesim for a girl (pronounced yesheem)?

bronze · 24/03/2009 18:02

music box is a lovely idea

mathsmummy27 · 24/03/2009 18:03

I am of all the exotic names you lot get to choose...

mumblemumhome4lunch · 24/03/2009 18:04

hello everyone - love the thread title by the way !

Sorry not been on for a few days just been getting no sleep (some unsettled sleeping of DS and DD combined with toilet trips & usual aches etc just making the 1.30am - wakeup time a nightmare !!) and dog tired.

Kids in bath at mo so can't be long - just across the landing and can hear both splashing gallons onto the floor so safe enough

Bronze - I love Gideon but DH doesn't like it unfortunately so it's been relegated to our list of possible second names. Have you tried looking at the catholic churches angels and saints website - lists all of them and you can find some very interesting/unusual names.

bronze · 24/03/2009 18:06

thing is anything beyond bob is pretty well too outlandish for him to cope with. Don't know why he agreed to dds name. Probably because he could cope with it, it only having three letters

mm is you cervix that low?

SpringySunshine · 24/03/2009 18:08

Why does my bump feel empty? I know that sounds insane, but it's like he's totally disappeared! I can't feel him moving either, at the moment. I'm not worried because obviously it's not like he's gone anywhere. But it is quite a lot like he's teleported out & left me with a huge, but entirely squishy bump Confused

bronze · 24/03/2009 18:09

hes playing xylophone on your spine instead
