Kalikaroo · 24/03/2009 16:14

Really must go and sort some dinner out if I can get myself off this ball unassisted....

BabyBolat · 24/03/2009 16:18

Sorry got distracted by work - don't suppose anyone knows how much of your NI contributions go towards the NHS do you?

Right ok am reading and posting so hope this makes sense...

Lulu - No luck whatsoever - DH refuses to talk about it and am in exactly the same position as Kalikaroo - he is set on this one name!!

Oh Lulu my DH is exactly the same - just says no if I suggest ANYTHING!! LuLu sorry to laugh but you can't have those names!! IF it is a boy it will be BABY BOY BOLAT for weeks I think!

Clairey ((hugs)) I am sure you look lovely!!

Swali - you stole my mind - ((hugs again)) it will be over soon fingers crossed!!

Nutty here

I am back on the sofa and now completely stuck as I can't get myself up and my head hurts from trying to calculate financial deficits...

Is springy still sleeping - lazy mare - that's what happens when you nest too much!!!

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 24/03/2009 16:20

I have done DIY. I have replaced a nasty white plastic loo seat with a soft close solid oak one. I am quite proud of myself for being able to get down there and up again without hospitalising myself. For once.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 24/03/2009 16:26

talking of naps i may go and have one myself .... see you later xx

Tut tut Boffin!

But three cheers for making your bathrooms into lovely sanctuaries.

BoffinMum · 24/03/2009 16:34

I have just emailed you, Nuts.

The bathrooms are indeed better and all I can hope for now is that people respond by actually flushing the loo from time to time. Need I say more? Small boys and all that ...

BoffinMum · 24/03/2009 16:35

The occupational therapy ladies asked me 'what else do you miss doing?' and when I said DIY they looked at me as though I had gone totally mental.

mrsfossil · 24/03/2009 16:37

hi all just trying to catch upon thread.
Bronze - glad ds is ok

Shocked to find some of you finding your cervix. With my bump i'm lucky if i can find my fanjo haven't seen it in 4 months

Baby fells very low now and it feels like i have a lead weight up there. Blood pressure feels low today and i feel woozy if i stand up too long. Had this with ds1 but i've always had low bp even when not preggers.

Still can't get my head round this nesting thing does having a baby really make you want to do housework? v.sceptical although i did feel the urge yesterday to squirt loo cleaner down the toilet

we are also struggling with names have a boys name picked out but can't agree on a girls one which is a pain as we were told at 20 wk scan that 80% sure its a girl

has anyone had or heard of a mobile or low dose epidural? I was chatting to a friend who recently had her baby at the same hospital where i'm going and she said there was no such thing. i quite liked the sound of them. Off to look around hospital on thursday so i will ask then

LuLuBai · 24/03/2009 16:38

Plenty of tiling to be done at our house Boffin if you fancy it .

I'm driving myself silly scouring name websites for inspiration - so that maybe I can bombard DH with a selection and hope he likes one.

I really ought to be doing something more productive.

BabyBolat · 24/03/2009 16:43

LuLu what is more important than naming your LO?

BoffinMum · 24/03/2009 16:53

I am listening to Buccaneer sing Enya again. My pelvic floor can hardly cope with this much amusement!!

conkertree · 24/03/2009 16:53

yup exactly - and have read things like not having the house ready can subconsciously stop you going into labour so maybe its the same with being happy about names.

in fact bb- maybe you should try that on your dh - say the name thing is stopping you from going into labour.

BabyBolat · 24/03/2009 16:56

oooh I will although that didn't work with the nookie thing!!

LuLuBai · 24/03/2009 17:03

and ironically he's less likely to do lasting damage with nookie than with a really crap name.

Have just shake-n-vacced DD's room. Struth that stuff smells awful.

bronze · 24/03/2009 17:05

conker if thats the case I am never having this baby

BoffinMum · 24/03/2009 17:09

Got a nice surprise today - my colleagues from work sent me a lovely card and obviously had a whip round and sent me some John Lewis vouchers with it. How nice is that? I have only been working there 18 months. They are a nice bunch.

LuLuBai · 24/03/2009 17:10

Bronze in my quest I found the name Shiro, which apparently in Japanese means 4th child.

LuLuBai · 24/03/2009 17:11

Oh that's lovely Boffin. I got John Lewis vouchers from my colleagues for DD and bought her a lovely sheepskin fleece for her pram which she still uses every day

conkertree · 24/03/2009 17:17

lol bronze - its no doubt one of these things that somebody thinks but nobody can actually prove - think if you could control labour purely with your mind, there would be more babies now on this thread - but you never know - it could be a contributing factor (like old people wanting to get to a particular milestone then dying a few days later).

boffin - thats lovely of your colleagues. will be nice to get something for lo as a real treat rather than necessities.

bronze · 24/03/2009 17:18

Nice colleagues. Got anything lined up to spend them on?

BabyBolat · 24/03/2009 17:20

I have just spent the last 30 minutes googling turkish boys names - my favourite so far is Evren but DH will hate it I know!

BabyBolat · 24/03/2009 17:20

Oh boffin that is nice and by something lovely for yourself not functional!
