SmuttyNuttyTaff · 23/03/2009 23:27

have you been doing anything strenuous?

thanks nutty, baby is wriggling loads, maybe it's moving down and that's why my back's sore.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 23/03/2009 23:30

that would do it

nothing strenuous no

tristaleejac · 23/03/2009 23:34

Im gonna head off to bed now, try and sleep through this. Although it always takes ages to get to sleep. As soon as I lie down, baby thinks ahhh great and stretches out, which means jabs in the ribs for me!
Anyway goodnight, hopefully someone will give birth during the night!!!

Good morning
You have even got me dreaming about this flipping thread now. You were all there along with the sperm dressed in white.

LuLuBai · 24/03/2009 06:30

Morning - sounds very surreal Boffin!

BoffinMum · 24/03/2009 06:42

Another day with no labour. I am sooooo bored now and the only thing keeping me going is the though that at least I don't have a howling baby keeping me up at nights (although DH is so grateful I am doing this he has volunteered to do more than usual when the baby arrives).

BabyBolat · 24/03/2009 06:58

Morning - I am with that sigh Boff!!

I had a really really vivid dream last night that my waters broke while I was sleeping, we phoned the hospital and they said if the contractions haven't started by morning come in. I woke up genuinely really excited and then realised it was a dream

Where is that springy - she should be up informing us of progress!!! grrrrr

Feel very strange today like my head is all fuzzy - not sick in anyway or a headache, you know when you just feel all wobbly!!

Ok so nutty's check list:

The baby "drops" or engages into the pelvis, which is called lightening - CHECK

Your abdomen usually appears lower and more protruding - CHECK

You may experience a greater ease in breathing, relief from heartburn and an ability to eat larger portions - CHECK although not the larger portions!

Increased backache and sacroiliac discomfort - CHECK CHECK CHECK
Increased awkwardness in walking - CHECK
Increased frequency of urination - CHECK

Frequent bowel movements may be experienced within 48 hours of labor, cleansing the lower bowel in preparation for birth. - Kind of CHECK - need to go at least once a day which is a lot for me!

Diarrhea or flu like symptoms without fever. Indigestion, nausea, or vomiting are common a day or so before labor begins - Indigestion CHECK, others no

Increased vaginal discharge during the last few weeks of pregnancy as the body prepares for the passage of the baby through the birth canal - CHECK

Increased Braxton-Hicks contractions during the last weeks of pregnancy, which are "practice" contractions that prepare the uterus for labor and may cause some effacement and dilation (thinning and opening) of the cervix. - CHECK

Mother just feels "different," not quite herself. CHECK

Still lots to go tho!!!

BoffinMum · 24/03/2009 07:01

I have got most of them too, but that has been the case for weeks tbh.

LuLuBai · 24/03/2009 07:02

Yup. Enjoy the sleeping while you can.

I am just desperate not to go into labour until next week. Once we are living at home again I don't mind - even if I haven't managed to unpack all the baby stuff. All will be fine.

Was really period crampy all weekend and bump much lower down, making me a tad fretful.

DH has arranged his work schedule so that I don't have to do any more solo drives up to London. I don't mind doing the driving with him working in the passenger seat just as long as there is another adult in the car with me if I start getting contractions on the motorway.

BabyBolat · 24/03/2009 07:03

Yeah same here Boff - I do love the 'starts a week or two' or 'a couple of days before' - YEAH RIGHT - They LIE Boff!!!

BabyBolat · 24/03/2009 07:05

LuLu, I am sure you will be fine

I can't believe you are finally in your house - I know we have complained about things taking so long but all of a sudden due-dates are upon us, work is finishing and you are in your house, which when we first started didn't have walls did it?

LuLuBai · 24/03/2009 07:05

BB - they do lie! Last time I was waddling around for 5 weeks with DDs head fairly heavily engaged.

BoffinMum · 24/03/2009 07:06

I think it would help if I could do more nesting. I want to redecorate things and spring clean and so on but really it's not worth the pain, plus this lot tell me off if I start doing too much (rightly so).

My cleaner, who has reduced efforts of late and only cleans the most obvious bits now, is off for two weeks at the moment and I have asked AP if she fancies earning a bit of extra money by doing some in-depth dusting and hoovering. She jumped at the chance, so this might work as a plan. When I stand over her she does clean things very well (as in the oven example).

BabyBolat · 24/03/2009 07:07

Oh don't say that!! this LO's head has been engaged to some extent for 4 weeks!!!

LuLuBai · 24/03/2009 07:10

Will be in my house by the weekend. The builders are working their bollocks off to make sure it is habitable by the weekend. There will still be snagging ongoing for another 3 weeks, and I don't have a kitchen worktop yet, or a dining table or anything to sit on.... But the bedrooms and bathroom are done and I will have a fridge and an oven (no hob yet) so we will be OK.

LuLuBai · 24/03/2009 07:12

Well BB - not long to go then!

BabyBolat · 24/03/2009 07:14

Have you ordered the dining room table? When will the worktop be in? - ah just a reason to eat more takeaway curry surely???

LuLuBai · 24/03/2009 07:16

Boffin - I think I am having nesting urges too. DH nearly fainted in shock to find not just one, but all of his shirts hanging up freshly ironed. My mother will also return from her travels to find her linen cupboard fully re-organised and everything pristinely laundered and ironed. Have been loving ironing tea towels .

Meanwhile all my baby clothes are crumpled up in vacuum bags in someones attic. Really want to get to them.

LuLuBai · 24/03/2009 07:22

The worktop should be delivered in 2/3 weeks. Tis welsh slate and ironically it would have been much quicker to get Zimbabwean granite delivered... Duh!

We are still searching for the ideal dining table (has to be quite long, but fairly narrow to fit). Had been hoping to get all these things from John Lewis as we had our wedding list there and got loads of vouchers which I had been hoarding. But nothing quite right. Did get our bed from JL last ws
eek tho.

When we sold our flat the buyer bought nearly all our furniture too. Which we were very happy with but has meant that we have lived with practically no furniture for the last year.

PuzzleRocks · 24/03/2009 07:40

Good morning

If anyone does fancy "eeling" their cervix, check out Daikichi Amano. He is Japan's premier eel pornographer. No joke.

BabyBolat · 24/03/2009 07:44

I think I'll pass puzzle - HOW DO YOU KNOW THESE THINGS????

BabyBolat · 24/03/2009 07:47

Right off to bath and get dressed - I will not stay in my PJs for another day!!
