YAY!!!!!!

Congratulations Playing!!! Edward is gorgeous!!

Astarte, I have just died my hair black. I think I'm going to have to put loads of make up on and then get DH to take a picture.

DS2 slept from 11 to half 6 again last night. So hopefully it is going to happen every night.

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 18/03/2009 08:51

Morning All

Congratulations Playing! great to hear your update. Sounds like a crazy couple of weeks but glad you are home now.

morning

edward is gorgeous
hope all is well take carex

bracken has 1st injections today dh is coming to

kayzr · 18/03/2009 09:50

I've decided to buy some slim fast. I am sick of the weight not coming off despite doing about 15 minutes of exercise a day and not having big portions.

Cosmogirl · 18/03/2009 10:29

Morning (again)

Have taken to having an early breakfast, going back to bed, then showering and on to my second breakfast....

Kayz, I'd be a bit cautious with slimfast as it can be a quick fix. Maybe WW or Slimming World might be a better idea. Having said that a friend of mine lost a lot of slimfast, but tends to yo yo and put it back on then lose it again.

GYo - yeah row sort of got resolved. Basically DH said there was no way he was doing the pick up and eventually BIL agreed. Turns out he had the wrong day anyway and it is actually tomo early am. He mentioned something about us having to give him petrol money.....tho it is beyond me as to why this is a cost we should bear and not MIL whose holiday it is! Families ares strange sometimes....

Nothing planned for today here either....just more sitting and waiting. I am contemplating weeding the front garden but we have builders working opp our house and they might laugh at me!...

Tink - hope injections go ok. Poor Bracken..

Astarte · 18/03/2009 10:37

I can recommend the Davina dvd's Kayz. 30 minutes, which seems very easy at the time but boy do you feel it the next day! Good fast results too
Don't know how the slimfast works as opposed to WW or SW.
Would love to see your new hair

Good luck with the EA ohsnap, hope it sells super fast!

Cosmo, go potter in the garden. On a day like this it's good for the soul I feel

I think I'm going to have word with the practice-nurse tomorrow as I'm finding having 4 quite tiring. Might be worth checking out my bloods perhaps.
Ds2 has hit terrible 2's with full-on passion

OP posts:
kayzr · 18/03/2009 10:46

Astarte, that reminds me, I must make appointment with GP as I am very tired too. I was anaemic at end of pregnancy but MW said it would sort itself out. But it doesn't seem to have.

I have signed up for WW, going to go to the meeting next week.

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 18/03/2009 10:51

Well done for signing up for WW Kay! Sounds like a postive step

Cosmo - I agree with Astarte - get out in that garden! If you do a bit of weeding then that's a bonus but it's a lovely day so enjoy!

We have our first NCT class tonight. DH remembered this morning and asked what time he needed to be home. Hopefully we will come back looking forward to the next one!

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 18/03/2009 10:59

Oooh! Just had a text from a friend due her DC2 on 20th to say she's having the baby today by c-section!!
She'd been having problems with cholestasis and the baby was estimated at 9lb about 3 weeks ago so probably for the best.
She knows it's a boy so I'm awaiting the news and a name now!!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 18/03/2009 11:17

Hello again

Gardening sounds like a great idea Cosmo, good to get outside in the fresh air too.

Glad the pick up thing is sorted now

Hope doctors sort you both out Kay and Astarte...

Gruff- are you lurking? Hope you are feeling ok today and Gruffette is hanging in there...

Ses- hello, WFH sounds good for getting through a long list.. used to love that for getting work done. Great news about your friend too

Really bored today. Wish I could walk further than 5mins so I could go shopping in a proper shopping centre for a change of scene... instead Im going to go really push out the boat and go to sainsburys and buy some more gaviscon... whooohoo, dont I live an exciting life!

SesIsCountingdowntheweeks · 18/03/2009 11:31

Hi GYo
LOL at your "exciting life"!! Won't be long for you, I'm sure. My syndicate guesses are rarely close!

kayzr · 18/03/2009 11:38

Right here you go. My hair. Please ignore the fatness and double chin!!!

lastboxoftampons · 18/03/2009 11:49

I found you!!!!

Morning everyone! I was away for a long weekend and returned to 7+ pages of catching up to do! I'm hopelessly behind, but see that congratulations are in order for Star and Playing! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

Had a lovely visit with my family - my mom even got to feel some kicks - but it was a bit strange that no one looked me in the face as they were all focusing on my tummy! Concensus seems to think GIRL although I've always thought boy.

Question for everyone - did your bumps seem to come and go? I'm 22 weeks and sometimes I feel huge and then the next morning I barely look pregnant. I'm getting confused!

glaskham · 18/03/2009 11:53

Morning everyone... have had a pretty bad night after all my bragging yesterday. Ruby hasn't been feeding too well,... she had a good feed at 12.30pm yesterday, then i actually had to physically wake her at 5pm for another feed as she was just not interested, then i again had to physically wake her at 10.30pm for a feed, then she woke twice in the night but wouldn't feed, finally had a small feed at 7.30ish this morning, and i've resorted to feeding her expressed milk in a bottle just so i know she's taking something in... i'm wondering if it's because I ate spag bol which i'd put loads of garlic in... the other 2 were never fussy about taste of milk after any food, but i'm thinking this may be the problem as she drank some milk i'd expressed a couple of weeks ago from a bottle no problem... anyone else had this problem? I'm going to post on feeding section too so I know i'm doing what I can, the neonatal (SCBU) nurse is coming on friday to see us and weigh her, and if she doesn't feed from me much today i think i'll get her to come tomorrow instead.

So I have spent most of the night watching her in case she started rooting for a feed rather than just crying to wake me... I decided not to take DS to nursery so i can spend the time making sure she's getting milk when she wants it.

NatalieJane · 18/03/2009 12:31

Hello (two days in a row? )

Huge congrats to Playing and Star, sounds like you've both had a bit of a rough ride, Playing glad little Edward is home now and hope you are recovering well, and Star I really hope the op was straightforward, and Charlotte is on the mend.

Glask, I'd put it down to the garlic, none of mine ever seemed to be be bothered about the taste, but I have heard garlic can be a bit of a pain in the bum sometimes. Hope you get some good advice and that Ruby feeds a little better today. I think you'd do right to get the nurse to come earlier, always better to be safe than sorry.

Cosmo, I did our back garden on Saturday, it is so worth it, and a little birdie told me that the digging and bending down is well known to start labour (though don't go over doing it, you'll need every ounce of strength if it did start something off!)

LBOX, perfectly normal for the bump to seem to come and go, suffice to say it doesn't actually come and go, it is just the build up of fluids, you can help it a bit by drinking more, but as long as you are drinking plenty anyway there's no need to, it won't cause any problems or anything.

DS1's birthday today, he went off to school so excited bless him

And as always as one thing seems to sort itself out, another crops up, Mikey is a bit better, no where near as blocked up, and his temperature is finally under control, I was scared stiff he'd start fitting like DS2 does, but he seems to be getting there now, and on the other side of the coin, DH's work has more or less dried up, we're already facing not being able to pay the bills next month, which we have never had to do before, and it doesn't seem to be looking like his work load is going to pick up any time soon, so we are in deep shit basically. We thought we'd come up with a (long, complicated, boring, ridiculous) master plan to dig us out of the shit but that isn't going to work... one month of not paying bills can be recovered from, but 2? 3? 6? And if the work doesn't pick up and he losses his job, we are severely fucked. Everything is on the line, the house, the car, things we need to buy like Mikey's clothes, nappies, formula etc. I really don't mean this to sound smug, but we've never really had money worries before, and it's not nice y'know?!

NatalieJane · 18/03/2009 12:32

Shit sorry, ignore last post, you lot don't want to hear it!

GYoIsReallyHavingABaby · 18/03/2009 12:44

Hello Nat- Glad to hear Mikey is feeling better now. Please dont be sorry for posting about the money worries, please rant away here, thats why we are all here (who know how many times I've done it!).

It is hugely worrying time for you... wish i had something to say to make it better. Hope something sorts itself out for you.

Glask- sorry Ruby is having a less good day today. Hope you can sort her out by keeping an eye on her today.

Hello LBOT, reckon Nat is right, at that stage bump changes a lot due to fluid. Also your perspective on it can change too. Sometimes I look down at mine and thnk no way is there a full size baby in there but then I look in mirror ... and realise my girth!

Cosmogirl · 18/03/2009 12:55

Hi ladies,

Weeding mission completed! Feel better for doing it and it was nice to get the fresh air. Felt quite inspired so washed my car after (didn't do a very good job of it tho! Nevermind..)

Nat - oo I hope the bending does start something off - desperate for any twinge or sign of something! Sorry to hear you are having some financial probs. It is such a tough time at the moment with work drying up and redundancies...Don't feel bad for mentioning it here - it could happen to anyone at anytime and that is worrying. I hope you are able to figure something out or DH can find some more work perhaps. Job security just isn't what it was a few months ago.

Glask - no advice on the feeding front as I'm clueless about it myself - but hope things settle down. It is prob just a blip.

LBOT - Yes, bump fluctuated quite a bit up until 24 weeks when it really seemed to pop out.

Just woofed my lunch down and poor baby has hiccups - again! Oops..

Cosmogirl · 18/03/2009 12:57

Kayz - hair looks lovely by the way. Really nice colour and looks very healthy and shiny :-)

glaskham · 18/03/2009 13:02

Well she's had 2oz from a bottle within the last hr so at least i know she isn't starving!! will let her sleep for a bit then try latching her on again in a couple of hrs.

Still not heard from the nurses, hopefully when they have finished today's visits they will get back to me and i can ask them to come tomorrow instead.

Nat- if it is the garlic should I express the milk i have in at the moment and throw is away??
