Ooo, thanks for all the tips. I will have to go and test them out with DP but it helps to have a starting point.

Kayz - I haven't even heard of Paul Stride before but will def make a trip there one weekend. I had already looked at the mychoice and liked the look of it but I'll have a look at the rest of your suggestions.

Cheers Astarte - I was pretty sure the travel systems were going to just be heavy and unneccessary but SIL recommended one (they live in city though and frequently travel to Ireland to see family and need the car seat).

LBOT - are you getting excited about pram shopping now? I really wasn't but since the scan it is sinking that we are really having a baby and I am sooo excited thinking about his/her arrival (well not the actual arrival part, I'm still blocking that out!). I'm loving window/website shopping for all the bits we'll need . Its a bit embarrassing for someone who usually loathes shopping!

IDOB - I've been excited about pram shopping before we even began TTC! I've been running a few different ones past DH and so far we seem to agree, so that's good! I think that was a worry for me! We even actually agree on potential colors! It is definitely all starting to sink in here now - we had a great scan last Monday, found out the gender and DH and I can both feel his kicks on a daily basis now - so it's all becoming a bit real. Plus, another exciting bit - the little guy seems to be acquiring a new wardrobe faster than Paris Hilton! I received my order from Blooming MArvelous on Saturday, then I saw my old boss who is in the UK for a couple of weeks and she had brought me a gift, then I spoke to my mother on the phone and she was telling me she had just been to the shops and bought a few items...it's like there's something new daily, which is so much fun! I can only imagine what kind of damage we all would've done if it was a girl!

I'm glad you're starting to get excited too! Enjoy it!

afternoon

idob - we have quinny buzz in red is brill.
have the maxi cosi adapters so we can use carseat on frame which is great.
it is really easy to use goes up really easy and folds down easy. has a handle that adjusts for taller people

not long cosmo

had fun today making an easter hat with dd1 dor nursery then we played with playdoh
then dd2 did a mmass poo explosion cue up leg on back on vest and covered trousers

Wow LBOT, you'll have the best-dressed little man for miles around ! I am really looking forward to finding out whether we are having a boy or a girl and buying some clothes. I have some babygrows and sleepsuits in neutral colours but I'm going to restrain myself now until we find out the sex. Hopefully the bean will behave on the 11th May so the sonographer gets a good look! Back pram/cot/mobile/sling..... shopping until then.

I am really excited now. My mum bought me a baby diary after my scan. It has pages to record stuff like first smile, first time rolling over/crawling, fav toys, first swim. Its a bit cheesy but thinking about all those little moments to come brought it home that this pregnancy is going to end in a little person. Does that make any sense?

Evening everyone, sorry for going AWOL. DS has been poorly with a misc. virus, now I've got tonsillitis and poor DH is shattered from looking after us all!

Still, on the plus side, today is my 12 week mark and I threw up first thing this morning, which I assume is a good sign.

My scan is first thing tomorrow morning, and DS is going back to nursery for the first time in nearly a week - so I'll be home alone resting and hoping to get back to work on Wednesday. I can't afford too much sick leave in this climate.

I'm finding eating a real pain, I get really hungry, but don't fancy anything to eat, then when I do think of something, I can only eat a tiny amount, so I end up hungry again an hour later and then have to mither over what to eat again... all very silly, but a significant improvement on the 24/7 chundering that I had with DS!

Cosmo - can you go out for some long walks? I did two long walks and lost my show after that, had three or four nights of pre-labour before my waters broke. Am at the % of inductions for first timers!

I'd best try to get some sleep now, DH and DS are already snoring away next to me and have been for the past hour!

Love to all (esp. the LO's) and great to hear your news Starshine, I think you and Glask have coped incredibly with your LO's difficult starts - I hope I can be as strong as you guys if I'm ever in the same position.

DS1 has started being very naughty these last few days. He is throwing huge tantrums, I'd say about 5 or 6 a day. He has started to hit DS2 a lot more as he had pretty much stopped. So I am taking him out today for some 'me time' as I think he needs it really. So we are of to Whitby on the bus(he loves buses) and we might go to this shop where you can paint your own piggy bank, plate etc.

Cosmo, I hope you have had baby Cosmo by the time I get home!!

Morning all - thanks for the good vibes - they worked wonders! My EDD has been brought forward by a whole week, making me now 13 weeks instead of 12! YAY! Things like that never happen to me!

Got an OK picture, its a bit blurry - DP has taken it to work to try to get it scanned so I'll FB it later, if that's OK?

I was told that the NT measurements were within normal range, the bloods that they took today will be a) back in a week if there is a problem with a phone call b) back in two weeks if there are no problems with a letter. But so far, so good.

Also, had a meeting with a midwife after the bloods were taken to chat about last pg and labour and to talk about why I am under consultancy led care etc. She was fabulous, I was able to talk about loads of the things that I found difficult about it, she even got out DS' ECG chart and went through that with DP and I, giving loads of extra information that we didn't have at the time - like the fact that his heartrate was low when we arrived at the hospital...not just in the period prior to the emergency cs.

She's allocated me to a lady consultant, different to during my an care last time, but the same one that took the decision to do the CS on the day. She has said that they will do everything they can to make sure that this is a better experience for me, which is a good start.

I feel all excited now! It really is going to happen!

Sparkly - Congrats!!!!!! That's wonderful news! I'm glad your scan went so well and that it's been a positive experience for you so far (despite the eating of course!). And YAY for 13 weeks!

Cosmo So sorry you're fed up. Have you tried all the 'methods'? Raspberry leaf tea? Even if it does go to induction, it's still right around the corner. >>
