so the orgy thread begins

OP posts:
minush · 12/03/2009 10:08

B52's ohhhhhhhh I love Sam, always have, and I think it goes really well with Zach, which is also fab. It's not that unusual though is it. I name I really love (if I was having a boy, and Dad not Algerian) is Elliot, with one 'l' or 2.

I'm hoping me and DH will take one look at our DD and decide she is definitely a .........
Really, surely the Zaphira Opel will go out of production soon, what aith all the current woes hitting the car industry - not that I am wishing destruction of Vauxhall simply to satisfy my naming whims!

minush · 12/03/2009 10:09

BB, they probably know how perfectly clean and tidy you are

minush · 12/03/2009 10:10

I seem to have a tiny amount of energy today, where did that come from ?

LuLuBai · 12/03/2009 10:12

Sorry Puzzle - couldn't resist. Bad buddy, bad buddy

Minush Zahra or Zara both v. pretty. I love Arabic names for girls. Zaphira, unfortunately, is a really unappealing car (although DH and I have found ourselves developing a new appreciation for 'family wagons' as we expand our numbers.) Leila is pretty and translates well into English. Amira is gorgeous too and I think translates well. How about Thaira, which I think means pure and doesn't seem to be used often.

Puzzle - I read that as sex with hair scraped back increases likelihood of urinary tract infection. Interesting thought....

B52s · 12/03/2009 10:13

Energy, what's that? Seem to last remember having some in July...

B52s · 12/03/2009 10:15

Well if we're taling cars I think DS2 will be a 'Citroen 2CV'.
My hair is scraped back. Is that bad? (But not so much I look shocked).

Juwesm · 12/03/2009 10:18

Ah, yes, hadn't thought of the shop! So many things to think about!

Juwesm · 12/03/2009 10:21

Lulu - Hair on head??????

Minush - if it helps, I think the car is spelt with an F, not a PH!

There's always VW Sharran.........

minush · 12/03/2009 10:25

I clearly don't recognise it either B52s as it vanished when DH phoned and asked me to go and buy sardines
Lulu, continuing the theme of Z names, I dalso really like Zahara (rose), in a South London accent though, not sure it would sound so nice. Thaira could be interesting, I'm getting slight reverberations of 'thyroid' echoing around my head though. If only the Zaphira was a nice car goddamit! Perhaps Amira it will be!
B52s, I'm doing the scraped back thing too, it's a look I've been working to great effect since pregnancy has been making my hair static., always think of 'Citroen' as feminine, 'Peugot' more masculine surely, and kinda close to Panther

minush · 12/03/2009 10:27

Ohhhhhhhhhhh, I like Sharran, sounds a little arabic too no ............

minush · 12/03/2009 10:29

Right, best get those sardines or DH may begin to suspect I am a lazy trollpoe who sits on her ever expanding arse all day, eating chocolate, demanding foot massages, (to no effect - I am now officially on 'sex strike' until I get the one which was promised 3 bloomin days ago) moaning and surfing the net. Did a superficial sweep of bathroom, that should fool him!

minush · 12/03/2009 10:31

Hauls self out of bean bag ........... I've started to make the old persons grunt when I get up from a seat or bed.

LuLuBai · 12/03/2009 10:33

I think my favourite car name is probably Clio.

Zahara is probably a little too close to Brangelina's African daughter (if celebrity baby names bother you) although very pretty.

Have noticed Aaliyah becoming more popular in the UK lately. And not just amongst Moslim families.

B52s · 12/03/2009 10:38

oooh Panther. Now that I like.

minush · 12/03/2009 10:44

Roaaaar

Yes, Aaliyah has had a surge, Aisha is also really popular (and lovely IMO). The most popular girls name in 2008 for the department I'm living in is Ines, and there's a similar Algerian name, but alas, BIL got there first!

minush · 12/03/2009 10:46

Right, really am going to buy those little fishies now Hmmmmmmmmmmmm sardina, sardinella, hey, thinking of fish, how about 'Turbot' for a boy (htat is a kind of fish right?) it is all rugged and wild and thrusting

B52s · 12/03/2009 10:49

Thrusting = good for a teenage lad, not so good for a newborn???

minush · 12/03/2009 10:49

Oh, and continuing on the theme of sources for names ............ the IKEA product range is replete with them, I'm sure those of us really stuck to turn for inspiration there.

minush · 12/03/2009 10:50

Could be abbreviated to 'turby' when still young and cute

minush · 12/03/2009 10:51

Right, really this time, sardines, here I come to buy you

LuLuBai · 12/03/2009 10:52

I really love Ines. Would make my short list but not DHs. DD has a Spanish name so was thinking of another one if this is a girl, but in the end we seem to have gone Dutch (if this is a girl) - our kids will have very confused Euro-identities.

Middle names are always very English though.

LuLuBai · 12/03/2009 10:56

I've already got an Ikea named cat (Billy shelving unit anyone?)

Prefer Halibut to Turbot - will run it past DH this evening.

Got to go, not doing shoulder any good typing.

Juwesm · 12/03/2009 11:01

Hake? I think Hake sounds very rugged, and could possibly be some kind of adventurer/ action hero, in the style of Dirk Pitt.

Hake Scott and the Inca's Revenge?
Hake Scott and the Omega Protocol?

Nearest bit of Ikea furniture is....Tylosand. Not too sure about that one

skiingone · 12/03/2009 11:23

Thanks for all messages with congratulations girls!
For those with SPD - I could not get up the next day after the section, but the day after when I got up there was no SPD pain at all, and by now I barely remember what SPD was like...so I guess c-section is ok for SPD, not sure how it would have been with normal labour.
Got to go - she's been demanding feeds every 1,5 hours over the last 18 hours.
Hugs

BabyBolat · 12/03/2009 11:28

Can anyone please tell me when the uncomfortableness will end or am I really faced with this until LO comes out because if so I am tempted to trot up to the Portland and pay for the sunroof option!!
