BabyBolat · 12/03/2009 07:29

Morning all

So yes no babies - believe me you lot would be the first to know if I was going in to labour! just a lot of client meetings and team catch ups!!

Although (and sorry kitty) I think I am throwing in the towel on the competition - I don't have the energy for kitty bootcamp and this LO doesn't seem to be making any movements! (I'm a bootycamp dropout!!! ) It seems all it wants to do is cause me immense discomfort but just stay there!!

Welcome baby marianna so glad everything turned out OK - so pleased for you skiingone!

Look at all these tiny babies (Ours are going to be right heffers compared to these LOs!!! )

Kitty how was the film?

LOL springy at your AIBU stalker - am very tempted to tell her to bopp off and leave the AIBU stuff to the SIBU thread but tis likely to turn this thread in to a horrible one like the others - surely the joy of MN is that you can pop in and out whenever you want - you don't have to constantly post (although apart from out lovely AN thread!!)

Ah Springy - NCT meetings - are we being replaced???!?!!!

BoffinMum · 12/03/2009 07:45

Springy is clearly encountering people in Real Life. How can this be??? Are we not enough for her any longer??

Scan and hospital ante-natal appointment this afternoon. What size will the baby be, I wonder? Have I weaned myself off the drugs enough to have an uncomplicated HB? (Down to 2 x 30mg codeine a day, no oramorph, really feeling it now). Will I end up with the mad Irish registrar trying to find the baby's heartbeat in my fanjo like last time (did I tell you all about that??) and telling me my SPD was just a cross to bear?? All will later be revealed.

PuzzleRocks · 12/03/2009 08:06

Minush - Yep, you sound way too posh for us i'm afraid. Do you have any polyester clothing?
I know what you mean about being, ahem, tight down there.
Do you have any baby name ideas yet?
Do you want to join our buddy system?

PuzzleRocks · 12/03/2009 08:09

Purple - I was up at six. Lazy cow indeed. .
I can't get the sides of my coat to meet, let alone button up.

PuzzleRocks · 12/03/2009 08:13

Boff - Good luck this afternoon.

BB - Does your mat leave start next week?

Springy - Excellent last post on the old thread.

purplemonkeydishwasher · 12/03/2009 08:15

puzzle -

Boffin - good luck with your appt today. gotta love that whole 'SPD is your cross to bear' thing. i keep getting taht too. a shoulder shrug, a 'not much we can do'. deep down what they're thinking is 'well, you got yourself pregnant love now you have to deal with it. but i don't really belive you are in that much pain anyway.' arseholes.

i just remembered that i ran into my HV yesterday and she said that DS is due his pre-school jags!

she offered to book me in for today but DH is off next thursday (which is jag day) so i'll take him then. i've been dreading this! jags in a baby are one thing but a 3yo?? actually now that i think about it I'll need DH there. i won't be able to hold DS well enough to keep him still. she said they do both arms at once so at least he won't have to go through it twice IFSWIM.

PuzzleRocks · 12/03/2009 08:31

Lulu - Poor you and DD. I hope you are both on the mend soon.

purplemonkeydishwasher · 12/03/2009 08:44

woo hooo! i win!!!

purplemonkeydishwasher · 12/03/2009 08:45

damn it! damn it!

you got one more in puzzle!!

PuzzleRocks · 12/03/2009 08:46

hahahaha

brettgirl2 · 12/03/2009 08:46

Congratulations to skiingone on the birth of your daughter. SEVEN babies!!!

BB are you ever going on maternity leave?

I can still button my coat up (although I admit it is a bit of a struggle now). The bloody thing annoyed me so much last year because it was too big, however and 'bunched' around the middle.

I have a very sociable day ahead of me today, two friends are coming round - one for lunch and one for a cuppa this afternoon. Unfortunately this means that I need to get up before too long (to go shopping/tidy lol), and will not be able to stay in bed until lunchtime like the previous three days.

PuzzleRocks · 12/03/2009 09:07

Brettgirl - Have a lovely time today.

Lulu - You are in big trouble!

BabyBolat · 12/03/2009 09:16

Brettgirl / Puzzle - um it doesn't feel like it - am only in the office for one day a week for the next 2 weeks but technically not on mat leave until 27th May unless LO comes before but not pinning any hopes on that!

I can still zip up one of my size 12 coats but all the jacket type ones are a no-go!!

Ooh boff, good luck this afternoon and well done on the pain relief!!

BabyBolat · 12/03/2009 09:16

27th MArch not May - could you IMAGING another 2 months of this!!!

BabyBolat · 12/03/2009 09:17

IMAGINE even - maybe I should pack up now if this is my standard of work...

purplemonkeydishwasher · 12/03/2009 09:32

puzzle - you won the last one on a technicality! my PC froze!!!!! lol

off to take DS to gymnastics!

later gators!

minush · 12/03/2009 09:34

Hi Puzzle, actually I am slobbing around in sparky trackie bottoms and a satin maternity bra, does that redeem me?
I think it's probably a safer bet to get DH to post baby details rather than joining buddie system, giving the unreliability of international phone networks, unless there's anyone else in France?
Re names .. I really really like Zafira which means triumphant/succesful in arabic (apparently) ........... However apparently there is a car called a Zaphira Opel. hey ho, jewel names are cute right? I could have a Zafira Opal DH has contributed one name - Amira- which he really loves. I'm not so sure as it means Princess, and me a republican! But, I'm sure our little girl will love having a name which means princess, I'm sure I would have done. Also like Selima or Zulima which means peace (but just think of Selina Scott with the first! Middle name will be very English, Catherine, Jane, Anna, Daisy, Roase, that kind of thing.
Re the S.E.X, am also concerned about getting a bladder infection and needing a cesarean as a result (although sure two are not related, just a wee paranoia on my part!)

Juwesm · 12/03/2009 09:42

Morning!

Puzzle - I can't believe you are going back to old April threads to finish them! . Think Lulu won the last one btw!

Minush - I had a friend at Uni called Amira, and though it's a lovely name it drove her mad that people constantly got it wrong, couldn't spell it (though not exactly hard...)! She has a sister called Zahra, I think, which is not a Vauxhall and I also really love another of her sisters' names, Soraya, but I don't know what either of them mean!

PuzzleRocks · 12/03/2009 09:53

BB - Baby brain eh? YESTERDAY AT THE MIDWIFE APPT WE SPENT 10 MINUTES DISCUSSING HOW MY NEXT APPT WOULD BE AT MY HOUSE FOR A RISK ASSESSMENT. SHE DOUBLE CHECKED MY ADDRESS AND THEN I IMMEDIATLY ASKED, "WILL THE APPT BE HERE AT THE HOSPITAL"
Oh for heavens sake, and I have just typed that in caps. Can't be arsed to retype, Sorry for seeming shouty.

Juwesm · 12/03/2009 09:56

I'm not having a risk assessment for HB - everyone else seems to be? Hmmm.

Unless that is why HV is coming today??? My plan for the day is to tidy up the house, but leave it just messy enough for it not to look like I've spent all day tidying. Somewhere along the line I have been convinced by someone that HVs are scary people.

PuzzleRocks · 12/03/2009 09:58

Minush - Only if you have your hair very severely scraped back.
Amira is lovely, have you vetoed it? I love Selima too.
AuldAlliance is in France but she is another opt out. Make sure DH gets the news to us asap. We won't be happy if your family hear first.

PuzzleRocks · 12/03/2009 10:01

Ju - Health visitors always come out to see first timers. Perhaps she will relay the necessary info to your midwife.

B52s · 12/03/2009 10:02

Morning all, go away for two days and come back to a nother new thread and a new baby. Congrats skiinggone.
We've no idea for names for DS2 - struggled with DS1 and only came up with his (Zach) 3 days before I dropped. I'd like something slightly unusual, and like Dane and Bear but DH has said no and likes Sam. At least I don't have to worry about what works in another language!

minush · 12/03/2009 10:03

Ju, yep Zahra is lovely, but although not a Vauxhall it is almost a clothes shop (although I have noticed Zara is a pretty popular name for new borns)
Glad I don't have HV, I would be doing just what you are, god, I'm bad enough when the (v nice, but obsessively clean and tidy) MIL comes round. I've tried to tell her that a bit of dirt is good for kids immune systems, but will she listen, will she heck, just gets the bleach out and starts scrubbing. I'm planning on telling her that little Renault Cleo, or whatever she ends up being called is allergic to cleaning products

BabyBolat · 12/03/2009 10:07

I'm a first timer and haven't had a HV visit???
