I like that you have to put measures in place to enforce time away from your cervix I've given up on mine, I think - I can't make any sense of what I'm feeling & I refuse to take photographs using a speculum & headtorch

tristaleejac · 09/03/2009 17:05

my RLT hasn't arrived yet, ordered it days ago from ebay

LuLuBai · 09/03/2009 17:06

Just the word speculum makes me wince and cross my legs. Such a wuss.

SpringySunshine · 09/03/2009 17:07

Nutty texted me this morning, just before 9 I think, to tell me that there was lots of springy sunshine in Bristol She seemed perky enough - hopefully she's having a nice day & resting.

Where is Boff? Honestly, if she's painting...

mathsmummy27 · 09/03/2009 17:10

mine is so entertaining I have to enforce intervals...

yes Boff you'd better NOT be painting the skirting

LuLuBai · 09/03/2009 17:12

You've still got plenty of time to take the RLT. I always start early. But am beginning get bored of all the fluid:

  • Coffee in the morning (cos I can't think straight without at least a little caffeine)
  • Milk - to take my multi-vits with (old habit)
  • Fennel tea - cos I like it and it's good for milk-production
  • Chamomile tea - cos it's soothing and I'm hoping it will make a nice calm, happy baby *Orange juice with meals cos it helps iron absorbtion
  • RLT - strengthen cervix

Have I missed anything?

I feel like I'm sloshing around. My tummy is like a waterbed.

LuLuBai · 09/03/2009 17:14

Oh good Springy - glad she's resting. Yes it was glorious weather in the west country this morning. DD and I had a lovely morning out and it was so sunny that I was inspired to buy her a polka-dot spring dress for when the weather gets properly warm. She's so happy she's been dancing around the house in it ever since we got home.

LuLuBai · 09/03/2009 17:15

Yup - bet Boffin is at the skirting boards. Hope she at the very least got someone to prep them for her.

SpringySunshine · 09/03/2009 17:22

MM, I just had another go at my cervix & I think I found the doughnutty thing! Yay! Not dilated at all (then again, I'm not due for 5 weeks) but I'm fairly sure it's progress - or maybe I was just being an idiot before. Either way, I'm happier now. It seems more promising, even though it's no indication that I'm ever going to dilate properly.

LuLu, I'm surprised you can move - I have images of you standing up & the momentum of all that liquid pulling you straight over onto the floor When I was a baby I used to drink so much milk that I audibly sloshed when picked up. I was a little chubby

The dress sounds lovely - I'm not surprised she's excited. It's so nice to be able to swish around in pretty dresses. I can't wait to be able to wear real people clothes again - these maternity tents are getting really depressing now.

LuLuBai · 09/03/2009 17:27

Springy - I can't really move and I have to wee at least every half hour.

Have got to a stage where I only do things or go places where I know there are places to go for a wee.

BabyBolat · 09/03/2009 17:31

See now my wee is all over the place!! One day I can go every 10 minutes (even if I have nothing inside that could possibly get out - even though it seems to appear from nowhere!) and the next day normal as pie!

you just reminded me about raspberry tea, haven't had any all day!

Ow ow ow ow!! just scuttled in to the kitchen and slid across the floor and think I pulled my inside thigh muscle -ow ow ow ow ow!!!!

LuLuBai · 09/03/2009 17:36

BB it's probably the postion of your bump. For the last week or so I've been able to go through the night without going to the loo because my bump is up high, so not pressing on my bladder. But during the day I am drinking so much liquid that I'm still going all the time. Was more uncomfortable a few weeks ago when bump was really low and every wriggle niggled against my bladder.

Is your thigh muscle OK? That sounds potentially really nasty.

tristaleejac · 09/03/2009 17:40

Bloody hell BB! Be careful!

SpringySunshine · 09/03/2009 17:48

BB, I just clicked 'threads I'm on' to see you saying "See now my wee is all over the place!" & nothing else - I thought your pelvic floor had given up the ghost How's your thigh?

I can't believe I'm already having to get up 4 times a night to wee - & I try really hard to limit my fluid intake after a certain point so I don't have to. It's not going to get worse in the next 5 weeks is it?

BabyBolat · 09/03/2009 17:52

Ha ha - although my pelvic floor exercises are non-existent!

Tis ok i think, just very sore and am now limping as I waddle, which is an even better look (while in PJs) - will get DH to give me a good rub down tonight !!

Yay for cervix spotting springy!!

purplemonkeydishwasher · 09/03/2009 18:01

it's taking me FOREVER to catch up on this thread and as DH is on his way home that'll be me until tomorrow!
just wanted to say one thing before I log off:

Kitty - my mom made the same offer. online. so she could see my face. cue very fake frozen smile. but i've told her that it would be much better if she came after DH went back to work. 2 extra adults pottering around would just annoy me. they would be a bigger help then.

however now she's saying that my dad has heard throught the grapevine that DH and I are thinking about coming over there at some point this year and he said to my mom they don't have to come over now, then they can afford to come over for DC2's first birthday. my mom was very very upset and has said in no uncertain terms that THEY ARE COMING. it's only for 2 weeks though. so i might just survive!

Now! off to make dinner!
ta! x

SpringySunshine · 09/03/2009 18:06

BB, you have the fat pirate look down to a T I'm getting a bit turned on just imagining it

I second the pelvic floor thing, too - I just forget. I'm going to have to go to fanjo physio afterwards instead, I think

AuldAlliance · 09/03/2009 18:08

Just back from visit to see CM, who starts heavy chemotherapy tomorrow.

Have ordered Amby bed and changing table, should be available on Thursday for me to pick them up from the florists' (cunning French organisation, where various mail order co's, incl La Redoute and Vertbaudet, etc.) deliver to a "parcel relay" place and you can collect them at your leisure, rather than having to guess when the postie will deliver and then having to queue for hours at the PO if you were out). So one or two items on the list have been ticked off. Just an article to write and a website to translate now .

DS keeps asking "do you love me, yes or no?". Some serious reassuring needed before baby arrives!

Very jealous of all your plans to leave hospital so soon: here they keep you in a minimum of 3 days.

House-hunting v stressful. I have given in and said I'll move to Marseille, where DH works, but I hate the idea with a vengeance. All the more so after a lovely afternoon yesterday spent kite-flying in the gorgeous countryside around where we currently live. Found this today, but it's 50km from his office...

BabyBolat · 09/03/2009 18:11

Yeah I am going for that option too - think I am ok ish as no leakages so far!

Oh now Springy, you would swoon if you saw me now, hair piled up in a messy bun, spot cream on my face (why why did the hormonal spots come back this late in pregnancy - that phases was supposed to be over!!!), baggy PJs and a limp - I know I do it for you... give me some DIY and an open dressing gown and you'll be leaving DH for me in no time

I forget everything, pelvic floor, forget to rub cream in to my tummy everyday, haven't even bought the stuff for Pmassage (not sure I am going to bother as I only have 3 weeks anyway!) RLT - hospital bag... hmmm

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 09/03/2009 18:20

Purple - yay for the tablets and sleeping thats fantastic!! also hooray for going out! have a lovely time

AuldAlliance - hooray lovely to hear from you sorry about your hard times recently but hooray for mat leave

Carameli - you are just before me so only 7 weeks to go!! and counting lol

Boffin - step away from the paintbrush, or i will be forced to get the cuffs and paddle out again going on the razz with your dd sounds like a great plan

Trista - hope you feel better soon xx hooray for nursery being so fab!

BB - OOOOOHHH 3 WEEKS!!! EXCITING!! lol you are not alone i also have upvc double glazing honey are you ok??? xx

Juw- Painting in the nuddy??? w'a's all that about lol

Springy ROLF DH regularly spits back into my hand' yay for cervix!! xx ROLF turned on at fat pirate look though bb i gorgeous so.....

Pintofstella - Welcome would you like to join our buddy system??

well had hydrotherapy this morning got hoisted in (fine-ish), in the water ad excersizes (fine-ish) got hoisted out and OMG!!! THE PRESSURE!!! yowch!!! i thought i was going to die and that my legs were going to fall off!!! being weightless to a degree and then to have gravity come crashing back in is NOT GOOD!! so have been asleep on my sofa (love lovely comfy sofa may divorce dh and marry the sofa instead ) all afternoon. legs have completely gone for the moment so am resting like a good girl (not much else i can do) but on the bright side i dont have to do anything and my morphine is due so can relax and enjoy mn

LuLuBai · 09/03/2009 18:24

Oh Auld I'm drooling over your property porn. Surely a 100km round commute a day is worth it for your DH if he gets to come home to that

Or if you don't take it, I'll move over there myself. Am sick of the work on my house. Our v. expensive custom made internal doors have just arrived (proportions of cottage so tiny that most off-the-peg ones won't fit) and 3 out of 5 are 15cm too small. DH is nearly in tears.

brettgirl2 · 09/03/2009 18:28

What a load of UPVC chavs we are then

My weeing is quite bizarre, and I also keep forgetting to do pelvic floor exercises, which I'm sure I'll live to regret after the event. What exactly is a Pmassage?

SpringySunshine · 09/03/2009 18:28

BB, at this rate I'll be leaving DH for anyone in no time

There is a picture on the internet, referred to as 'goatse'. I don't know if any of you will have heard of it / seen it, but I do NOT advise Googling. It's a photograph of a man stretching his anus wide open. Think childbirth. It's just disgusting & makes me feel so very, very sick. If you link to it on forums, most will just ban you because it's so disgusting & nobody wants to see it. It's described as one of the 'shock sites' along with things like 'tubgirl' (a girl lying in a bath with her legs up, shooting projectile diorrhoea onto her own face - again, I wouldn't advise looking for it) & 'lemonparty' (an old man gay threesome, which is oddly sweet in my opinion, but disturbs many of the idiot boys on the internet who share these things around). There are a few of these sort of things & I find the goatse one to be the worst - as DH knows, because I've told him lots of times (he knows too many of the aforementioned idiot boys on the internet & can often be one given half a chance ).

So someone's tricked the front page of a website into showing this goatse picture (by changing something innocent that they were to it) & the website's not realised yet. DH started laughing & then spun his laptop screen around to show me it without any warning of any kind. After I've just told him that I'm feeling a bit meh & hormonal & he sat there & said 'tell me if I'm irritating you, even if it's unreasonable, & I'll stop'. WHAT IS WRONG WITH HIM?

& now I have that horrible picture stuck back in my brain after avoiding it for the last couple of years.

BB, you'll have to ugly yourself up a lot more than that to even come close to disgusting me now

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 09/03/2009 18:32

Springy - ewwwww sounds very grim, though now you have said NOT to google i want to do just that!!!!

BabyBolat · 09/03/2009 18:34

oh i just did it!!! oh my god my poor eyes!! i don't know whether to laugh or cry!!!
