The other thread was too long and wouldn't let me add a new message.

I am 8+3 and as my previous m/c's have been at 9 weeks.

OP posts:

Just wanted to say good luck detoxdiva for your nuchal tomorrow.

Can completely identify with the savoury cravings - with DD it was all strawberry stuff & now its salt & vinegar crisps (which I normally really hate), tuna & tomato any time of the day or night. My appetite is HUGE -am easily eating double the amount, but not put on much weight yet, which seems odd as Im overweight anyway. MIL is convinced this bub is a boy - think she's right because of strange 'instinct' type feeling.

Bought a doppler for reassurance - so I thought - and then panicked for a week because I couldnt hear anything . Finally found my little train noise last night - what a relief

AprilMeadow · 19/02/2009 19:30

Welcome to the newbies and hello to everyone else

Nausea still here although slightly less i think than last week. Eating non stop! I'm a sucker for KFC's when not pg and all the talk of them over the last few days has made we want one badly. Also wanting the sausage mcmuffin [yummmmmmmm, drooool]

Still waiting for my dating scan date to come through, am 10+3 today so shouldnt be too long.

mummyhill · 19/02/2009 19:39

Having to eat little and often to keep nausea at bay not actually being sick now thank goodness. Am hoping I don't put too much weight on this time cause I have trouble shifting it afterwards.

theboob · 19/02/2009 20:36

hello ,can i join you please?

i'm 8 weeks pregnant with dc4 ,have been given a edd of 1st oct but have induction due to growing big babies

mummyhill · 19/02/2009 20:43

Welcome to the group

LittleCheese · 19/02/2009 21:17

my letter said my scan pics are £4 each i cant believe it

LittleCheese · 19/02/2009 21:17

Has everyone decided whether they will find out the sex at 20 weeks?

JRocks · 19/02/2009 22:05

Hi everyone, just checking in again. So funny to read about everyone's McD cravings - I've been keeping mine a secret and sneaking happy meals every so often. It's terrible really, but it's mostly the only thing I fancy at the time

Had my scan date through this morning, for the 11th March. I think that will make me 11+6 but can't wrap my head around the calculations just now! Oh and my letter says we can have two scan pictures for £5.

bigbang · 19/02/2009 22:38

We paid £2 per picture in a box at reception (put in £4) but they didn't ask if we had paid and gave us about 4 or 5 pictures, so you might get lucky. Will deff be finding out the sex, it really helped us bond with ds. We kept it a secret from everyone else though till he was born! Will try to do the same this time I expect.

This is the latest I have been up for ages, I am going to regret it in the morning!

ladylush · 19/02/2009 23:22

Tigersfeet - so sorry to hear your dh is ill in hospital. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery.

I'm at the same stage as you - 10+1. It's dragging by isn't it. Still, I'm sure you're more worried about your h at the moment.

Good luck to everyone with scans pending

ladylush · 19/02/2009 23:38

bobber did you buy your dopplers online? I'm thinking of getting some.

bobber · 20/02/2009 00:08

This is so not me being up this late at the mo, but cant sleep tonight...

yes, ladylush, I got the angelsounds one (I'd read good reviews for it). Really impressed with it because I've got some extra padding round my tum & I'd read that dopplers dont always work early on if your larger, but bubs is low down at the mo & my 'padding' doesnt extend down there...yet

I paid about £26 including postage & gel (which turned out to be 'love lube' when it arrived!!). Do you think I'm allowed to tell you where from on here - dont want to break any forum rules?

lixanismapolium · 20/02/2009 10:33

Just a quick 'hello' to those who remember me! And to let you know that I had a scan this week and saw a baby with a little heartbeat. Will be 7 weeks tomorrow, so thanks for the encouragement to try again when I lost the last one at New Year - looks like it definitely worked!!

MummyWilliams · 20/02/2009 11:36

A Big Fat Congratulations lixanismapolium xxx

PurpleCrazyHorse · 20/02/2009 13:17

Congratulations lixanismapolium great to see you back. And welcome to everyone else.

Still waiting for a scan date but now 11 weeks - woo hoo, time is ticking on. Can't get enough of prawn cocktail crisps and off for a McDs tonight before getting a coach to London to see DH. Got two sick bags just in case as been feeling a bit travel sick. Probably not helped by my recent bag of crisps and inpending Big Mac

LOL on the 'love lube' bobber!

I think the hormones have sent me a bit crazy, crying at the TV (happy or sad!), covered in spots, greasy hair and getting little hairs growing on my face (hooray for my tweezers). Hmmm... I was all ready for sickness but not for morphing into a teenager!

TrixieVix · 20/02/2009 13:59

Hello all! Been lurking for a couple of weeks...had some spotting at 5 weeks and have stayed away so as not to jinx myself!

I've had 2 scans at EPAU - one at 5 weeks when they could only see the pregnancy sac and yolk sac, and another at 7w6d where there was a lovely little baby with arms and legs and a heartbeat . Have been discharged by EPAU now and amnot due to be back there until the 10th March for my routine 12 week scan (which will make me nearer 14 weeks by then). So today, I'm 10w3d!

Have been off work for the past month with Hypermesis - have lost a stone and a half and have been spending literally all day sleeping. I'm due back at the Drs today for a check up and to see if they think I need longer off. I'm still suffering, but am so bloomin bored, I think I'd almost rather be at work at the mo! Am wondering whether to go back just in the mornings next week to ease myself back in gently. What do you think? Or should I just go the whole hog and take time off again if I'm really struggling? Am unable to eat anything at the moment - getting by on tiny pieces of crusty bread or ready salted french fries at the moment. Am not too worried though as the Dr said the baby will be living off my reserves for the moment, and needs so little from me. The thing I'm really struggling with is getting enough to drink. The only thing I can stomache is Bitter Lemon!

So pleased to see the majority of those on the original anti-natal thread are still here. Sympathies to those who are not. (Am worried that sounds really un-genuine, but can't think of a better way to put it!)

Right - that's it for now. Feel more human just by getting on the laptop and posting! Here's to my new Positive Mental Attitude and to meeting our lovely new babies come September

StealthPolarBear · 20/02/2009 14:00

Hi everyone
Sorry for being dull but just have very little to say! Want my scan.
Discovered yesterday that a friend is due at almost exactly the same time as me!

Thusnelda · 20/02/2009 14:44

Good to hear from you lixanismapolium! You started us off on the September thread after all and I was wondering how you were getting on.

TrixieVix, I think you should go easy on yourself and start half days if that's possible. You can always do more later on when you'll hopefully have reached that "blooming" phase! Hope you can keep your folic acid down until then.

I don't feel nauseous at all anymore, which is nice, but I do still have very distinctive likes and dislikes! Can't bear the smell of coffee (I used to be a latte-addict), and have to have a constant supply of sparkling water with or without cordial. And still off the chocolate, which is probably why I have actually lost a few pounds since being pregnant.

lemonmoon · 20/02/2009 15:21

Such good news lixanismapolium

pch I have little hairs that grow on my chin anyway, up the duff or not. It started when I was about 32. Nature is soo cruel.

TrixieVix Nice to see you again. I agree with Thusnelda about the half days. Full days after a month off feeling crap will be surprisingly hard work.

Got a call from my midwife to arrange my booking appt for next Wednesday. Had to ask if she'll take blood since I'm a fainter, and the answer is yes, but at least I'll be at home, and can lie on the floor with my legs up on the sofa. I'm sure she'll have seen worse things.

Thusnelda · 20/02/2009 15:41

I've got one rogue hair on my chin and one on my neck. Yes, cruel is the right word.

My midwife didn't take blood - that'll be done at the hospital when I have my scan in March. I'm also a little bit of a fainter, and, apparently, my veins are hard to find. Hmm. My boyfriend is coming along to the scan, so i guess he'll have to hold my hand for the bloods as well.

detoxdiva · 20/02/2009 18:11

Hi everyone

trixievix - that's great news & welcome back!

Well, I had my nuchal scan today and all is well. I won't get the risk factor and report until Mon eve, but the consultant was happy and said he had no concerns. There was a def nasal bone and the nuchal fold measured 1mm (should be less than 2.5mm) It was just amazing to see how the babies develop in just 2 weeks. Bean is now fully formed and wriggling around like a maniac! Just incredible to see and has def made it all seem real now.

bobber · 20/02/2009 18:53

Fantastic news detoxdiva. Great fold measurement ! Although Im petrified of the nuchal results, Im really looking forward to seeing all the changes on the scan.

Wonderful news lix!!

Trixievix - great news, but agree about taking it steady at work. Feeling ok at home is v.different from coping with a full day at work.

Snowfalls108 · 20/02/2009 19:09

Wow. Good news all round today, and so far I've had a sick free day. I'm 10+1 today, anyone else had ms lessen around this time. Only a week and 3 days till my scan, yipee. What are everyone's plans for the weekend? I'm going for lots of sleep!

AllGoingSouth · 20/02/2009 21:27

Hi all, just to let you know I had a m/c yesterday. Don't really know what else to say sorry.

Snowfalls108 · 20/02/2009 21:50

Oh allgoingsouth, so sorry to hear that. I hope you've got someone looking after you. X
