The other thread was too long and wouldn't let me add a new message.

I am 8+3 and as my previous m/c's have been at 9 weeks.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

iamamummy, i remember picking up a couple of tops at peacocks last time. this time i am inundated with maternity clothes as all my friends have just had their second babies and are madly getting rid of everything. so no excuses to buy new stuff well maybe just one thing ...

haven't got my results for downs testing yet. i think they are meant to come in the mail. i had the scan and bloods tuesday last week, i wonder how long it will take.

god, i thought i was ending my nausea/vomiting, as i managed to eat dinner last night and had a fairly smooth day yesterday, but this morning i went and had pancakes and coffee and then vomited a lot when i got home. ah, well, another week and hopefully it will go then although i'm rapidly losing patience and i actually feel ready to gain some weight now!

StealthPolarBear · 11/03/2009 14:18

Hi everyone
I told work ages ago, but I work somewhere that's meant to be family friendly etc. Must be very stressful if not.

JRocks · 11/03/2009 14:29

Hi everyone, had my scan this morning and all is so far so good. Just got to wait on the results for the blood they took for screening beforehand. Apparently if it comes out low risk they will write within about 10 days, or if they need to talk to me it will be within about 48 hours. I'm hoping to hear nothing, for once!

Still got nausea and tiredness, but boobs not so sore now. (DP sees this as an invitation )

StealthPolarBear · 11/03/2009 15:08

glad your scan went well JRocks

newbie36 · 11/03/2009 15:27

Hi everyone - can't believe how differently people get their results from depending on which area you're in - some people having to wait to get their results posted... I'm at Epsom hospital in Surrey and they give the risks and results there and then at the scan.

So this morning, at my scan am massively relieved to say, that although I was worried my age (almost 37) might bring higher risk factors, the scan and everything went well and won't be needing any further tests. Don't want to go on, as it sounds as if others are having far tougher times than me.

Going to treat myself to a few maternity clothes now - Peacocks sounds like the place to be. I do hope anyone who's still waiting for the 12 week scan, goes well - it really is a nerve wracking experience.

iamamummy · 11/03/2009 15:37

still waiting here..... although midwife said she would make scan for 23rd so only another 12 days

congrats on more positive scans though everyone!!

audrey - im sure you can buy a few sneaky little maternity items i got away with staying in my size 12 skinny jeans with ds as bump was rather small and high up. this time round i have a feeling il be going for the beach whale look as heavier now than what i was at the end of pregnancy with ds - but thats what being off work has done to me!

oh and i have also lost 3 pound in the last week.

TigerFeet · 11/03/2009 15:49

Oh bugger I keep forgetting to TPT

Great news about all the scans, KookyKid I'm so pleased to read your good news

Still being sick although not as often. 13+4 today, every morning I think that today may be the day I stop. I do feel better in myself though, I have more energy and the bad days are getting fewer and further between

AprilMeadow · 11/03/2009 15:55

great news on scans.

Got my combined risk of 1:21000. Am very pleased with that.

audreyraines · 11/03/2009 15:58

it is weird newbie. i think at my hospital they send off the bloods and ultrasound pics to some independent screening place and they calculate the risk and send it to you. sigh. just want to get the result. guess i should get it this week sometime if royal mail does ok.

am going to wait either until the weather warms up or i start resembling the infamous whale, and then see if i might do just a lil shopping ...

unbelievably my 2 year old is still asleep. he's slept an hour longer than normal - i am in heaven!!

audreyraines · 11/03/2009 16:00

that's brilliant april.

tiger, i know what you mean. i seem on the whole to be getting better this week and more able to face food, but still have the odd unexplained vomit just to keep me in check.

TigerFeet · 11/03/2009 16:03

For some reason "unexplained vomit" made me lol, I had an unexplained vomit in the supermarket earlier this afternoon (thankfully I made it to the loo AND there wasn't a queue). I'm so rarely sick in the afternoon these days that I never even considered it to be a possibility. I must put that plastic bag back in my handbag

Hurrah for 1:21000

TigerFeet · 11/03/2009 16:05

((Hmm upon reflection the vomit may not have been entirely unexplained. You see if I didn't have a bacon double cheeseburger for my lunch I actually would have died. You know how it is.))

StealthPolarBear · 11/03/2009 16:10

good news April
Feel like a fraud after having it so easy SO FAR (not wanting to tempt fate)
I was sick every day pretty much for 13 weeks last time - does that make up for it?

spats · 11/03/2009 16:40

gosh snowfalls 1:100000 thats massive, never seen one that high, are you very young? And April also that is high - good new all round

13+1 and thinking i may have to head into mat clothes soon as walking around with jeans buttons down. Trouble is you et that horrid in between stage where mat clothes too big and just make a bulge of fabric and own clothes too tight. Found some old jeans had grown out of and they may fit for couple of weeks. Anyone in mat clothes yet. This is 3rd so not sure whether will be bigger now. 1st DS was 16 weeks before clothes to tight. Can't remember with DS#2. anyone in same situation?

cautiousmumtobe · 11/03/2009 16:43

Wow - so much news to catch up on. Congrats to everyone who has had positive news from tests and scans and congrats to Kooky particulalry - so happy for you and your news that you are having a little boy. That's what I'm secretly hoping for although a healthy baby will be just fine by me!

We had a scan on Monday after being delayed by the hospital from last week. Was really nervous but the scan was really thorough, showed us everything and was all clear. The consultant has cleared us now until 20 weeks although is going to get a sonographer to do a 16 week scan just to give us added comfort. I think I'd just be too nervous going from 13 to 20 weeks with no contact given that I had a missed MC which was spotted on the 20 week scan last time.

Totally forgot about TPT but DH turned to me last night and said 'you're starting to look pg'. I think he meant it in a nice way but I didn't take it that way! Have reverted to maternity jeans and work trousers as the tightness was just making me feel even more sick. A friend of mine is 26 weeks pg with her second and looks like she's about to pop so not looking forward to that!

Snowfalls108 · 11/03/2009 17:08

I know Spats - I kept counting the 0's as it seemed huge to me too! I'm 27 and it was combined blood and scan. Does the fathers age have anything to do with it? My DH is only 24 (going on 50)

They almost didn't give me the results. I had the scan and blood tests done last Monday. Went in yesterday to see the consultant. Don't know if it's the same everywhere, but at the hospital I go to, you hand your notes over when you check in, and then the doctor reviews them before seeing you. The doctor asked me if I'd had the results, I said I was still waiting for them. Just as we were finishing she picked up my file and a loose sheet of paper fell out with them on!

I'm in the office on my own today. The postman just arrived to collect the post, and caught me scooping nutella out of the jar with my finger. Ooops. Why do I think that my next TPT result may be a lot bigger!

The only thing thats making me sick now is brushing my teeth - anyone else have this problem?

nitnat84 · 11/03/2009 17:21

Spats- This is my first and I have been in maternity trousers for 2 weeks now. Def bump there now! Only 13 and a bit weeks pregnant.

AprilMeadow · 11/03/2009 17:34

Snowfalls that is an amazing test result! We are the same age (well am 27 for 1 more month) and yet our results are 79000 difference

Am in a complete maternity outfit today. Jeans from next, vest from new look (£9 for 2) and a top from h&m.

audreyraines · 11/03/2009 18:01

snowfalls, i also have problems brushing my teeth. and if i ever get a hair in my mouth, eugch - it just about sends me running to the bathroom.

Tigerfeet - exactly i know how it is. That's why I HAD to go for pancakes smothered in maple syrup this morning. My sole mission in my 3 hour break without ds was to eat pancakes. seems a bit ridiculous, but was worth it. even with the unexplained vomit afterwards!!

am wearing a few maternity clothes because i got them out and some of them looked nicer than my normal clothes

gotta make dinner for ds, but feel like lying on the couch instead (hehe, i just typed 'dying' instead of lying, not too far from the truth!)

ladylush · 11/03/2009 18:08

Great news on the scan results. Great stats April and Snowfalls

I've got some maternity tops. Managing in my jeans but have a bit of overhang which I cover up with my long maternity tops Looking forward to the bulge becoming firmer so I look pg rather than chubby. Think I might need to get some jeans soon though - for comfort.

Haven't had letter from hospital with results yet. Hope no news is good news. No messages on answer phone. Might try ringing them tomorrow. Lots of O's would be great but I don't want to be greedy - just a low risk would be great

Met with my manager today to go through my caseload. He wants me to transfer some of the more risky clients to colleagues. Trouble is they don't know I'm pg.

Got booking in appt. on Saturday morning. Unusual I thought - but at least dh and ds get to come along.

iamamummy · 11/03/2009 18:15

snowfalls - YES YES YES!!!! i thought i was the only one! it takes me over 10 mins in the morning to clean because i cant help but gag and vomit! i had this with ds too, im glad im not alone i thought i was weird

blue76 · 11/03/2009 18:16

I'm determined not to buy maternity trousers/jeans yet. I definitely recommend the belly belt. I'm able to wear normal trousers, as long as the top covers the gap!

Bump is huge today - kids in school ooohing and ahhhing over it. That turned to laughter when they watched me eat a banana, an apple, a yoghurt and a very big pear at lunchtime!!

Anyone having strange dreams??? In my dream last night my bf was lying next to me with a machete stuck in his head. He woke me up saying, 'what are you doing to my hair??!!!!' haha...i was trying to pull the machete out in my dream but was actually pulling his hair...suppose it beats the usual 'chucky' dreams of ugly, talking newborn babies

ladylush · 11/03/2009 18:27

I've been having very vivid and weird dreams ever since I was 4 weeks pregnant. Sometimes I get more than one a night.

Brushing teeth makes me feel a bit sick too. Getting better now. I've been fairly lucky on the sickness front, but maybe someone up there thought they'd given me enough to contend with what with the bleeding!

nitnat84 · 11/03/2009 20:01

I have also been having really bad dreams too. So weird! I also have more than one a night. I dreamt a while back that I was going for a scan but it was in a shopping centre and they were putting injections in my eyes. Freaked me out!!

lemonmoon · 11/03/2009 20:13

Nice to see lots of good scan news since I last looked. Snowfalls, that's an incredible number ! Fingers crossed for a good one ladylush

I haven't had any morning sickness at all but brushing my teeth really makes me want to gag. Bizarre.

More peculiarities for me today - had a letter from the Docs saying I had to repeat a blood test for an abnormal blood count. Something in me tipped and I had floods of tears, but I texted my midwife who called back (at 7pm!) and said she'd looked at all my results and they seemed fine to her, and that if it was really anything to worry about they'd have called. She thinks the doctor just likes getting blood samples for no real reason, but she'll double check them when she's in the office and call. More brownie points for her this week. I really do think I love her

Went to look at maternity jeans today but got confused. The ones in gap have a band all round the top (didn't try any on because the only sizes they had of the ones i liked were 0 and 2 - wtf?) but the ones in top shop had stretchy pockets (by that time I just wanted to eat again instead of trying things on). Anyone have a preference for band or pockets?
