The other thread was too long and wouldn't let me add a new message.

I am 8+3 and as my previous m/c's have been at 9 weeks.

OP posts:

Great result LJ IKWYM re. wanting to relax and enjoy the rest of your pg. Bleeding in pregnancy is very stressful.

Fingers crossed Lemonmoon. When do you get the results?

Good luck with scan PCH Poor you, needing a full bladder. I had trapped wind and found that hard enough to keep in during my scan, let alone a full bladder too! They do press fairly hard.

Sorry to hear you're feeling so rough erhianj. Hope you feel better soon.

ladylush · 10/03/2009 15:39

Sorry lemonmoon - got confused. Your scan is thurs isn't it. Do you need to have the blood test again?

Hulan · 10/03/2009 15:47

Hello Ladies. Can someone please explain the exact way I'm supposed to measure on TPT please? I really wanna see that. Today is the day I phone the hospital to try and book my own scan, because they seem incapable of doing it without my assistance! Anyway I tried at least 4 times and couldn't get through. I'm so of all of those who've had their scans and can breathe a bit easier!

PrincessLala · 10/03/2009 15:54

I had to have a full bladder for my booking scan at 12 weeks - blimey it was uncomfortable as the sonographer pushed and prodded. Worth it though

Congratulations Kooky, and I'm glad the tests are working out for others. It's worrying, isn't it. I'm almost glad we don't get offered the nuchal scan here.

I am 7 1/2 sheets of Tesco soft. 14 weeks, and I was never the skinniest (I'm tall though. Sounds like I'm making excuses!) I don't think I'm showing. I've got a bulge, but I always did and it's basically Christmas flab that has nowhere to hide now. My boyfriend is taking a picture of me each week to see if we can see a change. It's nice, but difficult to relax rather than do the standard thing of trying to hold my belly in!

mumtobe23 · 10/03/2009 16:16

Hello ladies! Congrats to all those with lovely scan news!
No much to report here, had my scan last week all was well and havent heard back from the midwife in the 3 day "time zone" they gave so I assume all is ok in there!
Now I have a loooooong wait till the 28th April till my 22 week scan, god it seems ages away and even though I have a midwife appt end of march I sort of feel a bit like I'm floating around waiting for things to happen!
Told every one at work this week too, they seemed shocked but happy.

audreyraines · 10/03/2009 16:16

Hulan, my hospital has beena bit hopeless with appointments too!

with TPT, i think you just measure around your bellybutton and see how many sheets of toilet paper it takes to get back to that point. halfs and quarters also count! of course it will depend on your brand of toilet paper, but a fun comparison anyway.

Hulan · 10/03/2009 16:21

Lol. That's sounds like such a laugh. Me and DH are gonna do that tonight! Thanks audreyraines. How are you doing with the MS? Mine is fading very slowly, but I still have the odd vomit whenever my nose catches a whiff of something it doesn't like

audreyraines · 10/03/2009 16:25

Hi Hulan, MS is still terrible, but I think I do better with cooking smells. At least I can cook some food for ds without vomiting these days! So even though it feels bad, it must be slowly disappearing, just not fast enough for my liking. When I can eat dinner every night for a week, I will be celebrating

PurpleCrazyHorse · 10/03/2009 16:58

Thanks for all the thoughts. Did think I would end up wetting myself as they were running a bit late. However, turns out all the drinking was pointless as my bladder is actually in front of my womb so had to go to the loo as they couldn't see beanie very well with all that water in there!!

Anyhow, they've put me one day out, so now 12th Sept. Beanie looking good, wriggling around loads. Obviously not worse for wear after the station steps tumble.

TMI alert... high pressure wee + urine sample pot don't mix

Got a photo but as beanie wouldn't stay still, it's not fab. But at the very least confirmation that it's not a food-baby!

Now awaiting the abnormality scan at 20wks.

pooka · 10/03/2009 16:59

My morning sickness has lessened in the most part. But has been replaced by rotten indigestion in the evening, which also makes me sick occasionally.

Am 15 weeks this week. My next target now is the scan at 20 weeks, just after the easter holidays.

spats · 10/03/2009 17:11

kooky congrats on the boy and fab news re downs and Edwards.

LJ29 what a worry for you, glad everything is OK. Mine measured 56mm i think, which she said was fine so don't worry about size.

Lemon i would say you are doing the right thing. You need peace of mind for the next 6 months and as long as you can afford it, go for it. FMC is the best place to go i reakon.

Good luck to everyone else going for scans soon. So many posts in last few days have only just scanned them as have to go and bath DS x2.

Me - still feeling sick at 13 weeks today, getting fed up with it but was feeling htis way until week 20 with DS#2 so will just have to put up with it i guess x

nitnat84 · 10/03/2009 17:53

Great news LJ!
Purplecrazyhorse- Oh yes you have to drink loads. I nearly wet myself from having so much water and being a little nervous. Luckily I was early for appointment so they squeezed me in early. hehe.

spats · 10/03/2009 19:22

re: full bladder, it think it depends where you are. My local one and the FMC both said didn't need a full bladder. quite lucky as the local one really pushed so hard i would have wet myself had i had a full bladder!! x

lemonmoon · 10/03/2009 19:24

Glad you have a good wriggler PCH

Yes ladylush I do have to have the blood test again - they basically repeat the whole thing. As for the cost, spats, DH said he'd rather pay than see them stick needles into me if they don't have to. I've sort of decided that everything is all right, but admit to eating lots of calcium in the attempt to make the little one grow a nose

Hope you get an appointment soon Hulan - it seems a bit bonkers that you haven't had anything.

ladylush · 10/03/2009 19:30

Great news PCH

kookykid · 10/03/2009 21:07

Hi ladies!

My TPT score is 8 (although I had ishoos with the tishoos!).

Glad all is OK LJ and that your scan went well PCH.

Am completely shattered - so emotionally wrung out after the last couple of weeks. Parents' evening went well though, and some of the parents were really nice. It's so lovely to hear that you're doing a good job occasionally.

excitedandscared · 10/03/2009 21:50

Finally booked in and had my first scan today, so I feel I can relax and join in a bit more!
The little monkey, as we're calling our bump, measured 61.4mm and had a good heartbeat though it didn't move at all, lazy thing!
I got uncontrollable giggles and couldn't stop saying 'wow!', which I suppose was a bit less embarrassing than the expected tears!
Now looking forward to my MS easing off soon and the next appointments.
Good luck to the rest of you with scans coming up, congrats to others who've had good news and I'm keeping fingers crossed for those with stressful and worrying days ahead...

ladylush · 10/03/2009 22:04

Glad your scan went well excited Maybe you can be a bit less scared now

Kooky - glad you got some positive feedback from the parents

blue76 · 11/03/2009 07:16

I remember being told at 20 weeks scan with DD2 (10 yrs ago) that baby had a distended stomach. When she was born there was absolutely nothing wrong with her. I was told that DD1 would be a 4lb baby. She was 7lb3ozs. I know they have to be cautious but these scans aren't always 100% proof that something is wrong. Just thought I'd mention this so anyone receiving strange and worrying results could read and see that all's not always bad in the end!

iamamummy · 11/03/2009 10:21

hi ladies

great news on everyone having lovely scans and test results!!

purple - i just lol at your high pressure wee comment.

all ok here, facing a work dilemma at the moment about whether to tell employer after scan or hold out if i can hide it that long til i am certain i qualify for MA. as i am on probation and only been there 3 weeks i just think i will get the sack as soon as i open my mouth. we really need the money though at the moment. decisions....decisions....

love to all xx

LJ29 · 11/03/2009 12:18

Forgot to mention yesterday that my TPT measurement was 9 1/2 sheets at 13+4. Feel like a right fattie now!

PurpleCrazyHorse · 11/03/2009 12:38

Tricky one, iamamummy. I've been in my job a year (but mainly stayed in the sector because I'm entitled to full maternity pay by transferring from my old job). Even so, I'm a bit nervous about telling my boss about it too. No one at work knows and I'm hoping to keep it that way until either I have another appointment date or I start to show. My old boss managed to make it to 18 weeks!!! I think I need to get some baggy jumpers

I am also going to say/imply that beanie was a lovely surprise rather than planned. Doesn't matter to me or beanie but if it makes work run smoother, then that's fine.

However, if work log my internet access then it would be quite obvious!

Snowfalls108 · 11/03/2009 12:49

Hello all!

Great scan results people! Yipee.

I did my TPT yesterday and I was 7 3/4 at 13+2.
Did some more shopping as well in H&M - good value stuff in there.

I saw the doctor yesterday who gave me my blood test results and nuchal results - 1 in 100000 chance so that's great, and all other blood tests spot on. So feeling very happy at the moment. I've now got a 3 week break between appointments - next seeing my midwife for a 16 week and then next thing is my 20 week scan! Which is only just over 6 weeks away. Wow - then will be half way through.

I've got a hard patch on my tummy - tried to get my DH to poke it, but he wouldn't in case he hurt the baby!

iammummy - I told my work at about 9 weeks, and kind of wish I'd hung on a bit. I think it means we'll get everything sorted earlier, but in the meantime my boss keeps changing his mind which is driving me crazy!

iamamummy · 11/03/2009 12:59

purple - thats the road i am going to be taking also - beanie was a complete suprise and i am also going to say that i did not find out until later on rather than i was peeing on a stick like they were going out of fasion.....

snowfalls - great news on scan and bloods! i have my first bloods next week but still no news on scan altho i am only 11+3 today. has anyone seen the maternity clothes on peacocks? they had a lovely range and quite cheaply priced too....guess where il be shopping for the next 6 months?

LJ29 · 11/03/2009 13:32

Iamamummy, I bought some maternity jeans from Peacocks on Saturday and I love them! They are so comfy but are a nice bootleg cut (I'm far too podge for skinny fit)and are a dark blue. Only £15 too which i thought was fantastic as everywhere else seems to charge about £30. I have seen a pair in Mothercare though that I might get which are a paler blue but you can roll them up to become like cropped jeans which will be great for when we are starting to look like beached whales in the summer and are too hot for full length trousers but look ridiculous in shorts!
