The other thread was too long and wouldn't let me add a new message.

I am 8+3 and as my previous m/c's have been at 9 weeks.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Fab news Kooky a blue one. LJ hope the wait isn't too bad.

I'm finally having a bit of action, have just been seeing my GP (I'm not in the UK) whilst we waited to see if this one hung in there (after sac separated). Didn't have a 12 week scan seeing as I'd already had a couple and I didn't want to do any screening. He's now referred me to the hospital team due to having gestational diabetes with DS.

The friendly sounding mid-wife rang today and wants to send me for the glucose test before seeing me. Though I'm really worried about having to swallow that horrible sugary syrup as my ms has returned in the last couple of weeks (14.6 today) and I'm not sure I'll be able to keep it down.

blue76 · 10/03/2009 07:04

Hey folks...I do believe it's TPT! haha (toilet paper tuesday). I'm still 7 sheets. Might weigh myself this morning - haven't done so since before xmas and I know I put weight on then due to breaking my toe and being forced off my feet for a week...

Oh and bf had broken his hand, so extra housework for me....

AprilMeadow · 10/03/2009 07:22

Kooky that is BRILLIANT news, congratulations. Also for having one of each!

Good luck for all scans today.

Have decided that my dates must be right otherwise i would have tested positive at 20days. I will move it one day as they said 14th by LMP. Dont mind the 14th as that's my great grandmothers birthday

It is indeed TPT So at 13+1 I am 7.5sheets

Neddie · 10/03/2009 08:10

Hi all
Hope everyone is well. I have missed so many posts but I can see that people are at last having scans etc. I had my second scan yesterday (1st one was an emergency at 6 weeks). Both babies fine and jumping around like mad things. I am going to have scans every few weeks because I am high risk (age and twins!)They dated me at 12.4 weeks so still around 20th September. Blood pressure gone down though 90/60 if it goes much lower I will be comatose.Nuchal fold scan next week so a bit nervous but what will be will be.
Good luck to those having test done.

LJ29 · 10/03/2009 08:31

Called first thing and she said hat my results had come back and because the risk was higher than 1:1000 - she either didn't know or wouldn't tell me the actual result. She is calling me back soon to try and get me a nuchal scan today. My logical head says that even if the risk is 1:500, thats still only a 0.2% chance so 99.8% chance that everything is ok. Trouble is logic isn't very reassuring when you're hormonal and worried that the risk is a lot higher. Will update later.

audreyraines · 10/03/2009 09:12

hi LJ, that's crazy that she didn't give you the actual figure. she probably didn't have hte exact result with her. hopefully the risk won't be too high. thinking of you.

i am 7.25 sheets today - means i've grown a quarter sheet since last week (but still not put any weight on ...) guess i'll have to eat eventually.

audreyraines · 10/03/2009 09:15

neddie, is there anything you can do to get blood pressure higher?

StealthPolarBear · 10/03/2009 09:21

Hi LJ, sorry to hear that, hopefully it is precautionary, and as you say the risk is still tiny.
to a boy kooky

BabyLady · 10/03/2009 09:26

Sorry to hear your news LJ, but you are right about the odds. Try to keep telling yourself that.

Congrats on other scan news (Neddie and Ladylush) and Kooky on your boy news!!

After freaking out about my weight drop yesterday (after normal eating) I spoke to my twin sister who reassured me seeing as she only put on 9kg during her first pregnancy. So maybe I will just be a slow gainer.

Totally get the doppler wish, I have had so many scans in the first 13 weeks (one at 7, 11 and 13) and a doctors visit at 15 weeks where I heard the heart beat that I am now getting panicky without outside reassurance that the baby is still there! 20 weeks can't come soon enough.

Nitnat, I think I am showing but there is no consensus amongst friends. I think all I can conclude is that it looks like I have eaten a lot of pies and as that is not really like me people are starting to work out I am pregnant.

Will do TPT later and update.

PurpleCrazyHorse · 10/03/2009 09:42

Congratulations Kooky, so pleased for you and thinking of you LJ.

We've got the scan at 1:30 so need to start on the 2 pints water from noon!! Set a reminder on computer to go for a wee first so bladder as empty as possible before I fill it up. I'll be furious if they keep me waiting. However, I'm a bit late having the scan due to a mess up so beanie should be bigger and easier to spot hopefully. Maybe will drink less and top-up while in waiting room. Quite scared, worried for heartbeat after the fall but trying to keep busy.

TPT: 7 3/4 sheets (Tesco value!)

lemonmoon · 10/03/2009 10:02

LJ that's nuts for her not to give you the number. I know just how you feel - hopefully the nuchal will up the number for you. (Is it just based on a blood test?)

We decided to definitely go for the repeat nuchal at FMC last night. Even if the numbers are the same or worse, we'll feel in a better position to ask questions. I'm also now wondering if my little one is small for dates - it was only 56.9mm. I know that everyone is different, but lots of my friends I've spoken to had measurements over 6cm. I really didn't know I could obsess so much

Purple I don't know how you'll get through with a full bladder! The amount they pressed on my abdomen I'm sure I would have wet myself.

TPT: 8 sheets (nouvelle)

FairySparkles · 10/03/2009 10:02

Morning Girls - good luck with your scan Purple CrazyHorse!
Kooky - thats amazing news!! And a boy!!
I was REALLY poorley yesterday with the lovely D&V virus that seems to be sweeping south wales at the moment - spent the whole day in bed or the bathroom and had to palm my dd off at my in-laws cos I was fit for nothing! Thankfully just feeling sick today but thats pretty much the norm for me whilst pg anyway so I can handle that!
TPT - 8 exactly - but I'm only 11 + 4 so I'm feeling pretty mahoosive compared to you lot!! Guess my penchant for McD's must be taking its toll!!

newbie36 · 10/03/2009 10:26

Hi all, apologies for ducking in and out I'm not a regular poster but definitely like regularly keeping up to date reading everyone elses news. I'm off for my scan tomorrow at 10.30 - it feels like I've waited forever. Half really looking forward to it, but the other half a bit anxious about risk factors etc. Brilliant news for you Kooky and LJ will be crossing fingers that you'll have an answer soon and it's a good one.

PCH - 2 pints of water?? How much should I be drinking before the scan tomorrow? It seems I can't hold onto a cup of tea much beyond 20 minutes these days (anyone else having to do a nightly pee visit at least twice a night aswell?!)

newbie36 · 10/03/2009 10:27

Ooh - by the way TPT - 7 and a half, at 11 and 6 days, I'm with you FairySparkles!!

pooka · 10/03/2009 10:50

For some reason the scans here don't ask for a full bladder - the only one that did was the 20 weeker when I was pregnant with dd in 2003. Since then, hasn't been a requirement.

Staceyk · 10/03/2009 11:00

Oh my TPT 9 but Already had quiet a big belly (mainly loose skin tmi I know) and only 11+1

PurpleCrazyHorse · 10/03/2009 11:50

Seems strange that everyone else hasn't needed to drink loads before their 12wk scan. My letter rather scarily says they'll rebook me if my bladder isn't full... eek .

Taken such a fuss to get a scan, I daren't risk being kicked out!! Oh no, bit worried about weeing myself now -thinking emergency supplies of TenaLady

FairySparkles mmm... McDs. Thinking my 'bump' might be burgers and NikNak crisps.

LJ29 · 10/03/2009 12:13

Well back from the hospital and after three scans to get bean to lie in the right position nuchal fold measured 1.5mm and when they did the calculation where they combine that with the blood results my risk went from being greater than 1:1000 to 1:3100! I am so relieved b ut I have to say that the last 18 hours have been some of the worst of my life I am just so grateful to the hospital for getting me booked into the scan so quickly.

Baby had grown from 45mm to 73mm in the last 2 weeks and was really active. I just want to enjoy thsi pregnancy now, it feels like its been so stressful so far what with the bleeding and this. I know this is my last pregnancy so just want to relax now!

Thank you all so much for your support it really is invaluable. I will ddo TPT a bit later and let you know. Good luck to all those who still have scans to look forward to.

erhianj · 10/03/2009 12:38

lovely news kooky!!

am in hiding alot at the mo, 13+4 and HG has stepped up a gear and have also been diagnosed with ptyalism (sp?!) is there any way of hibernating 'til I feel any better?
sorry to moan

erhianj · 10/03/2009 12:41

lj29 - glad your scan went well xx

lemonmoon · 10/03/2009 13:24

LJ I'm so glad to hear that. You must feel so much better now

I think the full bladder thing is to do with the equipment and newness of from what the second sonographer I saw said.

Sorry to hear you're not having a good time Erhianj. Hope you start to feel better sooner rather than later.

bigbang · 10/03/2009 13:25

Congratualtions on a baby boy kooky!

LJ so pleased the scan went well and that you are feeling reassured. I hope you can relax and enjoy from now on.

Well I'm also 13+1 and 7 sheets exactly.

PCH I also have never been asked to have a full bladder for any scans, but I'm guessing you are about to go in for it now anyway! Hope all is well with the baby.

audreyraines · 10/03/2009 13:33

good news LJ!

Neddie · 10/03/2009 15:18

Great news LJ29 hope you can relax a bit now.
Erhianj Hope you feel better soon. I am 7 1/2 sheets but I have 2 in there so I don't feel too bad!

BabyLady · 10/03/2009 15:33

Congrats LJ29, awesome news!
