The other thread was too long and wouldn't let me add a new message.

I am 8+3 and as my previous m/c's have been at 9 weeks.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
pooka · 05/03/2009 21:02

Okay.....

Fully clothed (jumper and t.shirt) and have just had large bowl of pasta. 8 sheets.

AprilMeadow · 05/03/2009 22:30

Its up to you how you measure. Whenever i weigh myself/do TPT then no clothes are involved as it gives a heavier/larger figure. I tend to go for first thing as i am smaller

Cautious, dd was due on 3rd May but made a shock arrival on 10th April.

blue76 · 06/03/2009 07:10

Kooky, my thoughts are with you, good luck for monday xx

Aprilmeadow...count me in for TPT...sounds like fun! I haven't stepped on scales since before xmas!

Weel I had my booking in scan and appointment last night. We were there for 2 hours - none of it waiting time - all of it laughing and joking with the lovely mw!

The mw sonographer scanned baby for ages, commented on how beautiful he/she is and said she could have scanned all night. Gave us 9 lovely pics. I am 11+5 and due 20th sept - the day after my bday! Baby measures 48mm. He she was rolling, kicking and waving. Mw commented on length of its legs - long!

I have refused quadrupal screening as I wouldn't go for amnio anyway.

I asked about underwired bras - is true they can block milk ducts.

spots are starting to disappear now, but I have such dry skin!

Mw also said that with 3rd baby you can feel kicks as early as 13 weeks....just under 2 weeks to go!!

I have what feels like a fake bump - it's just flab that's gravitated up to my belly button. Getting a little egg shape low down though.

Anyone else suffering from horrendous flatulence???? heh heh

BabyLady · 06/03/2009 09:33

Morning all,

Glad the CVS went ok Kooky - take it easy over the weekend.

April love the TPT, definitely up for that. Might go for early in the morning which is the same time as I weigh myself.

Definite rounded bump here at 15 + 2 but is more prominent in the evening.

iamamummy · 06/03/2009 09:58

morning ladies!

glad your cvs went well kooky xx

april would love to do the tpt sounds fun!! and a hell of a lot better than the scales

catch up more later xxx

FairySparkles · 06/03/2009 09:59

AprilMeadow - TPT sounds like good fun, defo count me in!!
Tigerfeet - I had hoped for a hospital waterbirth with my dd but because my waters broke 1st I wasn't allowed one because of the risk of infection - so nothing's written in stone until the day I'm afraid - best way for a waterbirth if you really want one is to have one at home because it's your own pool and there's not the same risk (much like you can spend as much time in your own bath when your waters have broken!)
Anyone else South Wales?? I'm wondering whether to go to llandough???

PurpleCrazyHorse · 06/03/2009 10:43

Hi FairySparkles I'm in Cardiff and planning to go to Caerphilly Birth Centre. We live that end of Cardiff so only 10mins over the mountain. Think Llandough is a bit far for us but friends viewed it (ended up at Cons unit at UHW). I work at UHW so too weird to go there!

Thanks to everyone for the tripping over support. Feeling okay but DH will be shocked at the bruise. I'm not usually one for slipping over so I wonder if it is pregnancy related - or maybe my brain is just full of buggy info and I'm not paying attention. Bean will certainly be well prepared for rollercoasters!

Thinking of you Kooky. Lots of hugs for the weekend.

PurpleCrazyHorse · 06/03/2009 10:47

Ohh meant to say I'm up for TPT. Sounds like a genius idea.

AprilMeadow · 06/03/2009 10:49

I would like to say i invented it but i think i stole it from someone else........ not sure who though.... ah bugger it..... i'm claiming it as my own

FairySparkles · 06/03/2009 11:01

Im in work with massive jumbo toilet paper - think I might measure with that to make myself feel like a skinny minny!!! hee hee!!

detoxdiva · 06/03/2009 11:09

at TPT! I'll give it a go!

Kooky - hope you get some rest over the weekend and fingers crossed for Monday.

Off to get measured for some new bras today - all mine are underwired, but I have to admit to wearing underwired all through my 1st pg and I didn't suffer when bf at all. I def have a bump that you can feel when lying down and like some others, my waist has disappeared and none of my trousers do up anymore

FairySparkles · 06/03/2009 11:23

PurpleCrazyHorse - my sister in law's going to Caerphilly, she's due in May so I'll let you know how she finds it!
I went to Royal Galmorgan with dd - they were amazing but I just didn't get on with the concrete hospital beds post birth with LOADS of stitches!! So this time I fancied somewhere a bit more home from home-ish and only know one friend who's birthed in llandough - everyone else who started off there that I know has ended up in an ambulance down to UHW!!
Don't worry too much about little bean after your fall - my dd uses my belly as kickboxing practice on a regular basis, figure my little bean's just gonna come out prepared for a fight with his/her big sister!!

Just measured with jumbo roll - 5 1/2 - will measure with normal tonight!! Only cheating myself!!!........

iamamummy · 06/03/2009 11:54

so i have done my tpt measuring - 7 sheets.

it is cheapy value loo roll tho so not sure now that compares to others.

paranoidmummy · 06/03/2009 11:57

hi, just wanted to check in. Not sure if I'm remembered cos I siad a tentative hello but wanted to wait for cvs til I properly join. I'm 11 + 5 by my dates and cvs is on tues so hopefully will know more soon. I am pleased to see all the rest of you are doing well and have had great scans. Fingers crossed for your cvs result kooky If its any consolation, I know how u feel to a point. I will be in your shoes this time next wk... unfortunately a 10 day wait for results. rubbish

paranoidmummy · 06/03/2009 12:01

can i also just add i am a little concerned as I am not showing AT ALL? i KNow its early and that but I'm quite a small person and with my last preg I had put on about 10 lbs by now and def had a bump... hopefully I'm just worrying over nothing and not being such a pig this time ;)

audreyraines · 06/03/2009 13:08

Purplecrazy, i fell down the stairs when early pregnant with ds1 and ended up going for an early scan, but all was fine and they said to me that the little bubs are pretty hardy and well protected, so i'm sure everything is fine. i'm sure you've got a spectacular bruise to show for it though!

paranoidmummy, i think it's quite early to show. i'm 13 weeks and just look a bit flabby really. also i think with my first pregnancy i had lots of time to gorge myself, but this time in between nausea and running around after ds, food has been more of an afterthought.

erhianj · 06/03/2009 13:25

Had my scan this morning, WOW! how amazing! me and DH just stared at the screen, the picture was so clear, could see little hands, feet, the cord, little heart beating away, everything! When the scanner said 'oh a lovely baby',I nearly kissed her! . Been given a date for the 13/09,so few days ahead and now into 13 weeks.

fairysparkles - I'm in Swansea so it will be Singleton for me

Chuckle at the TPT! sounds like a good idea, will try it tonight. iamamummy - I will also be TPTing with cheapy paper! think the sheets are smaller!

Hope all good for others with scans today
x x

audreyraines · 06/03/2009 14:02

oh and ps. 7 sheets of loo paper, but then i'm still awaiting bump!

AprilMeadow · 06/03/2009 14:14

Had scan this morning. Baby very active. Really pissed off as had to wait 55mins after my appt to be seen then she put me back by 5 days! No way am i that far behind. I know my dates (LMP and the deed). next scan booked for 27th April, just before 20wks as will be away when scan window is.

audreyraines · 06/03/2009 14:36

April, it seems crazy they can move dates around like that. mine have never been moved, and i know that i definitely don't ovulate right on day 14.
and i always think when they measure the fetus, aren't they just comparing it to an 'average' measurement, i'm sure not all are the same size even at 12 weeks etc.
or maybe someone more knowledgable can come along and prove me wrong

AprilMeadow · 06/03/2009 14:40

I wouldnt have minded if i had no idea when my lmp was or if it could have been a number of different dates when we did the deed, but the simple fact is that i know both those dates for definate. Also when i had my 9wk scan they told me i was measuring right for dates.

audreyraines · 06/03/2009 14:48

yeah, definitely annoying.

guess it doesn't really matter if you know your dates though - just be ready for the date you know is right. in any event, it's such an inexact science you might end up weeks early or weeks late.

i think the only real cause for concern is when you are going 2 weeks overdue and they want to induce - then you might want to go by the later dates anyway to give yourself a few extra days ...

Hulan · 06/03/2009 14:50

Good Afternoon Ladies. So I've just posted briefly once before on this thread and then got swamped with work. Anyway, I'm expecting number two at the end of Sept am only 10+4 but I'M SHOWING ALREADY!! DH just shakes his head and mutters something about twins under his breath.

audreyraines · 06/03/2009 14:54

Hi Hulan - i was paranoid about having twins because i'd been so sick all first trimester. but luckily the scan only revealed one (unless the other was hiding!)

when is your scan?

AprilMeadow · 06/03/2009 14:56

I know it sounds really childish to throw my toys out the pram over something so silly especially when others are going through tough times.

Just booked a 20wk scan with fetal medical centre as i think i trust them more than the NHS
