The other thread was too long and wouldn't let me add a new message.

I am 8+3 and as my previous m/c's have been at 9 weeks.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Best of luck, I really do hope every thing goes ok, I'm sending all my positive thoughts your way xx

audreyraines · 03/03/2009 14:32

hope everything goes ok kooky.

my scan was fine, seems to be everything working

PurpleCrazyHorse · 03/03/2009 16:21

Thinking of you kooky

Pleased to hear scans are going well - congrats to snowfalls, audreyraines and anyone else I've forgotten!

Been a bit of a phaf here. Waiting for 12wk scan appointment and now 12+4. Rang birth centre and it all got very confusing. Turns out I should have had a scan at the same time as the booking appointment! Anyhow very helpful MW called me back with a date for next Tues (10th). Very exciting!!!

Still don't feel ready for maternity wear but certainly also need a bra shop. Hoping to end up big enough to buy from Bravissimo but not there yet

ladylush · 03/03/2009 17:12

Hmm well I went from a 34C to a 34E with ds so now that I'm somewhere between a C & D I hope I don't wind up even bigger.

Kooky - got everything crossed for you. So glad you and dh are 100% together on this. That will help you get through it. Hope to hear update later if you feel up to posting.

Audrey - great news

I had a big bleed again last night It eased off during the night and I came to work today. I am so fed up of it.

audreyraines · 03/03/2009 17:41

purplecrazy, glad you have a date finally! i wore some bravissimo last time and it was lovely and supportive. i don't remember being massive though, i just ordered a bunch of stuff from figleaves and those felt the most comfortable. and also they make thongs in maternity style which is great cos i haven't worn briefs in forever.

i wore my old maternity jeans last thursday thinking how comfortable they'd be and they kept on falling down during ds' football class! i had to keep hitching them up

ladylush, how horrible, i hope it stops soon for you. i'm sure all is okay, but i guess scary each time it happens again.

i've been lying around on the couch all afternoon even though i had a one hour nap at lunchtime. is anyone else this lacking in energy? i thought by 13 weeks i'd be sailing along. poor ds - lucky he has a lot of toys and we've just been reading a lot of books together.

ladylush · 03/03/2009 17:59

Thanks audreyraines. Lol at your trousers falling down. Maybe you wore them later in your last pg? I am seriously lacking in energy too but the 2nd trimester doesn't officially start til 14 weeks so maybe then we'll be zooming around

TigerFeet · 03/03/2009 18:26

God I can't wait for the second trimester [zzzzzz], I'm still feeling sick but not actually throwing up much any more, maybe three or four times a week.

I am busting out of my bras too. I'm already a J-JJ cup though so god knows where I'll end up. I'm stuggling to find anything.

Ladylush how worrying, I hope it tails off for you.

erhianj · 03/03/2009 21:08

Tigerfeet - am glad I'm not the only one still feeling bleugh - was kind of expecting the 'magic' 12 week stopping of sickness, maybe a bit naive (sp) as was diagnosed with HG at 6 weeks and am still off work!

I am quite glad to be bursting out of my bras though, am so small usually it's quite nice to have something there!

TigerFeet · 03/03/2009 21:22

Oh poor you erhianj - I have HG too but thankfully it's controlled with meds and I could go back to work last week. Hope you're feeling better soon.

12stepmum · 03/03/2009 22:50

Haven't been able to post for ages...but good news, scan all went really well. so cute, everytime they pressed down hard to get better nuchal readings the little angel covered its face with its hand!! feeling so relieved.
sickness passed mostly now too, yay now 13 weeks and bump starting to come out, although it looks like too much cake rather than a baby at the moment...must lay off the cake...!

kookykid · 04/03/2009 07:53

Sorry in advance for another me me me post but thought some of you would want to know about yesterday...

Had my scan, and as I'd thought it would be, it was inconclusive. Baby DOES have a risk of Downs too so we were mis-informed about that. On the plus side baby's heartbeat was very good, it seems to be developing "normally", brain development seems OK and it has the requisite number of fingers and thumbs. The only thing they were slightly concerned about was a possible receding chin, which could be an indication of Downs or Edwards. (But it's not exactly a major brain/heart deformity!)

They have booked us in again for another detailed scan in 2 weeks, plus a detailed heart echo with a specialist form Great Ormond Street. However, DH and I are just not sure we can go through this awful waiting for much longer, so after much heart-ache and tears I have decided to go for the CVS. We have come to the conclusion they're never going to give us a sure answer one way or another through scans alone.

Feeling desperately sad about it all.

bobber · 04/03/2009 08:43

oh kookykid. How awful for you. It must be heartbreaking after being so strong and resolved together with an excellent plan forward, to have to change it.

But, as heartbreaking as it is, I think you have made absolutely the right decision again. I totally admire both of your strength on this - you need answers and the CVS will give them to you.

Are you having it done in Cambridge? I have heard they have an excellent reputation, so I am sure risks with CVS will be reduced as they are so skilled there.

Big hugs to you kooky. x

AprilMeadow · 04/03/2009 08:45

Kooky you poor thing. You are such a brave lady! Thinking of you xx

mumtobe23 · 04/03/2009 08:48

Hi all, well had my scan yesterday. All seems ok, heart beat, hands & feet etc.
He has put me at being 14+1 day which would mean due date of 31 August. I personally think I'm right with my dates and due about the 4th sept but hey ho.
Had the scan and blood test to test for downs, & now have to wait 3 agonising days to see if I get a call from the midwife if theres a problem, so please pray i dont hear back!
After friday if i've not heard then Im to assume all is ok and wait for a letter, i was planning on telling people today but thats gone out the winodw now till monday (if i've not heard from the mw).
Is 2.3 at 14 weeks a high number or low for the nucal translucancy i'm not sure & the scanner man didnt put my mind at rest!

mumtobe23 · 04/03/2009 08:51

P.s Kooky i am thinking of you at this really painful time. I really am wishing all turns out for the best for you. Be brave. xx

AprilMeadow · 04/03/2009 08:59

Mumtobe - just had a look at the Baby Centre website and found this info: An NT measurement of up to 2.0mm is normal at about 11 weeks, and up to about 2.8mm by 13 weeks and 6 days. This is because the NT normally grows in proportion to the growth of the baby.

I would say that was an ok measurement especially if he has dated you at 14+1

evie2000 · 04/03/2009 09:01

Kooky, thinking of you and your family.

erhianj · 04/03/2009 09:08

Kooky - hope you and your DH have plenty of support - thinking of you x x

mumtobe23 · 04/03/2009 09:16

Well that sounds quite re-assuring april , thank you very much for that info! x

lemonmoon · 04/03/2009 09:17

Kooky - so sorry to hear that the scan couldn't give you the answers you wanted, or any answers at all. I think that CVS under the circumstances is the right choice. It'll be good to know for sure one way or another. Fingers crossed for you.

Glad to hear good news too from audreyraines and mumtobe23. My own scan isn't until Friday and I'm getting more anxious as the time approaches.

And in other news I ordered a bra from figleaves yesterday, up both a cup and a back size, since everything is feeling a little strained. I'll give you my thoughts on it when it arrives.

AprilMeadow · 04/03/2009 09:19

Lemonmoon, what time is your scan? Mine is at 11.45. Trying not to think about it otherwise i am worried the time will go really slow.

Staceyk · 04/03/2009 10:00

Hello can I join in please?
I'm 10+2 I have booking in app next Fri 13th! and scan Friday 20th, seems a long time to wait.
Still feeling very sick all the time, never actually been sick just feel it. Never had it with my 2 boys, so maybe this time a girl, although I've put on a stone already bit concerned it could be twins? What are others weight gains? especially those on 3rd pregnancy?

erhianj · 04/03/2009 10:02

Lemonmoon/AprilMeadow - my scan is also on Friday, 9.15, just when my HG is at it's worst - think I might sit somewhere away from the other ladies in case I set them off too!

Hope today and tomorrow go quickly - and nice strong heartbeats from the bubs x x

erhianj · 04/03/2009 10:17

Welcome and congrats to Staceyk Sorry your feeling sick - it's really horrid.

Have been thinking alot re twins as they run in both families, and are supposed to 'give off' more hormones?!hence the sickness, but no way of telling until first scan I guess.. x x

lemonmoon · 04/03/2009 10:38

Mine is at 2.40pm, Kings. Might be in for a long wait, so I'll be taking a good book to lose myself in.

My dh's dad is a twin. I'm trying not to think about that either.
