The other thread was too long and wouldn't let me add a new message.

I am 8+3 and as my previous m/c's have been at 9 weeks.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

How is your dh Tigerfeet?

Are we multigravida even if we only have one dc? I think I've got the same level of input as you Tiger (except I get nuchal and not dating scan and no 16 week appt. I'm pretty nervous about that because I've had 4 m/c since ds, but I can understand it being convenient for you given that your pg with your dc was/were straightforward.

TigerFeet · 24/02/2009 06:44

He's much improved, Ladylush, thanks for asking . He'll be back at work next week.

Yes we are multigravida even if we only have one dc - I have only had one previous pregnancy. If you ask your mw do you think you would get a couple of extra appointments for reassurance?

pooka · 24/02/2009 07:08

When I was pregnant the second time I was given the same appointment level as when pregnant the first time. I was given the schedule and I think my face fell, and he (lovely) midwife said "aww, go on then" basically.

This time round, am happy with status quo.

detoxdiva · 24/02/2009 11:21

Morning ladies - hope all is well.

Nuchal results came back at 1:11,000 which obv we're over the moon about.

Bobber - when do you get your blood results. Is anyone else waiting for scans now?

ladylush · 24/02/2009 11:39

Glad he's much better tigerfeet
Will ask mw. Haven't seen one yet. Still waiting for nuchal date, confirmation of which hospital I'll be going to etc. Feeling very impatient.

ladylush · 24/02/2009 11:40

Great result detoxdiva

detoxdiva · 24/02/2009 12:30

Thanks Ladylush - have begun to relax a bit now....and even ordered some maternity clothes today

ladylush · 24/02/2009 12:40

I had to get some a couple of weeks ago Tummy muscles must be shot. Got two tops and two cardis. Need some trousers soon. Jeans do up but are uncomfortable. Hope your maternity clothes are nice Ooh and I need a sleep bra too. My boobs are so painful at night.

PurpleCrazyHorse · 24/02/2009 13:10

Great to hear your DH is okay TigerFeet - hoping everything runs smoothly from now on Also, brill news on the nuchal results too DetoxDiva.

Watch out on buying maternity clothes DetoxDiva, I've got a bit addicted! Didn't want to buy baby stuff yet but have got a gorgeous top and cords from eBay. Ooohh... and I found some bump bands, hoping I can wear some of my existing shorts in the summer (as button low) but cover any flashing skin with the band. Seem quite genius but difficult to tell at the mo without stuffing a cushion up my top!

We're still waiting for our first scan appointment (now 11+4), however it could be any time up to 14 weeks so might still have a bit of a wait. Not so stressed about it now, I guess I'm feeling a bit more PG and maybe the news has sunk in too.

Weekend went okay with my psycho mum. She only patted my belly once (!!) - we rarely hug so this was very weird and totally invaded my personal space. Anyway, DH and I had a secret code for leaving the house before I nutted her ("lets go for a walk on the promenade"). Worked a treat as we did have a walk on the beach, chatting about non-baby things, making for a stressfree-ish visit. Only one more visit to go but hoping this will also be uneventful. Only problem now is she thinks she's coming up as soon as I go into labour but on the plus side, she thinks the baby is a week younger than it is. Is it naughty to give her a due date two weeks later than my actual due date, then not to ring her until after I've had the baby??

Has anyone else had a few days without visitors after having a baby, or did you want loads of people around?

ladylush · 24/02/2009 13:14

I had people around almost straight away after having ds then burst into tears when dh's aunt poked my tummy and said "ooh have you got another one in there?!". No, this time we will have my mum and mil visit in the first week but that's it.

detoxdiva · 24/02/2009 13:44

PCH - I know what you mean about the clothes. I have just ordered some work clothes first as that's a priority, but still managed to spend £100 on trousers, a dress and 3 tops!!

I came home from hospital the same day when I had dd, and had visitors immediately the next day. My mum and sister also drove down that night and stayed 2 nights as it was the weekend. This time however, I am closer to my family, so think that I'll be seeing a lot more of them!!

LJ29 · 24/02/2009 14:28

Well done to all those with good news. I had my dating scan this morning and confirmed my dates exactly so due 12.09.09. The sonographer could see where I had had previous bleeding from but said it should just absorb itself and baby was completely unaffected. Also got to hear the heartbeat which was gorgeous.

PCH I actually had my mum at the birth of DC1 and she came to visit in hospital less than 12 hours after DC2 was born. I have to say that since having DC1 my relationship with my mum has changed significantly. I have a new found respect for her as a mother and we are much closer as I feel like I understand her better now I know what its like to bring up kids (which is far from the fairytale that a lot of magazines and media make out!)

I suppose everyone's relationship is different but in my experience I think what I am trying to say is that one of the joys of having children is being able to share the experience with those you love and your mum must be so excited.

Best of luck to everyone still waiting for scans.

pooka · 24/02/2009 14:44

Well scan was lovely. Really good news:

a) Only 1.
b) Risk of downs: 1: 9700ish. Risk of Edwards/Patau 1: 18000 ish. The downs risk was that of a 15 year old. Since I looked in the mirror when we got home and saw my haggard face, at least something looks 15.

Is all fine size-wise for dates - due date still 4th September.

What a relief.

Has anyone else had reduced sickness/nausea only to find it coming back? Have been feeling iffy since Sunday now, and wondering whether could be a bug, or is MS again. Bleurgh.

Neddie · 24/02/2009 15:28

Hi everyone
haven't posted for a while as no news really. I am now 10 weeks and a little bit. I have booked my nuchal fold scan myself (16th March) and found a hospital that would do it for free even though it isn't in my area. Yipee. I am absolutly huge now compared to last time- I know there are 2 but this is ridiculous! Only been sick twice so far but keep forgetting to take by pregnacare tablets. Hope everyone is still ok.

bobber · 24/02/2009 16:40

What fantastic nuchal results detoxdiva & pooka!

Ive got to wait until next week for the full combined results, detoxdiva. Apparently, the results are faxed if its bad so I'll hear Monday/Tuesday if it is, or later in the week if its low risk. I was put forward another day at the scan (am due 5 Sept now ) soit will be cutting it fine to have the CVS as I'll be 13 weeks 2 or 3 days when I potentially find out. They said I could still possibly have a CVS, but they seem to be encouraging amnio more (which I didnt really want). I'llworry about it on Monday if it happens - think my risk should be low hopefully - fingers crossed.

PCH - I've been wearing those bumpbands for several weeks now and they are fantastic! So wish I had them for DD as I really struggled for the first stage to get anything to fit & these bands hold up undone jeans really well!

Snowfalls108 · 24/02/2009 16:47

Congratulations to all those with scan results - such good news!

lemonmoon · 24/02/2009 17:14

Such great scan news! Can't wait for next Friday now...

Neddie I keep forgetting to take the tablets too, but now keep some on my bedside table as I always seemed to remember just when I was dropping off to sleep.

blue76 · 24/02/2009 17:59

been bleeding again today. only slight and it's 'old' blood. went to GP who has booked me in for a scan at the EPU 9.30am tomorrow...so fingers crossed!!

pooka · 24/02/2009 18:31

Everything crossed for tomorrow Blue.

TheTickListQueen · 24/02/2009 19:03

We had no visitors for a month after DS was born as we were in a different country from family and friends. It was wonderful to have the time for the three of us to bond as a family and figure things out for ourselves. I think 'helpful' suggestions would have really grated on me.

kookykid · 24/02/2009 19:31

How are you all?

Pooka I have had my MS symptoms return with a vengence the last couple of days (am 13 weeks tomorrow).

I had a worrying message on my answerphone when I got in tonight.... it was the MW from the hospital to say they need to talk to me about my blood test results. Has this happened to anyone else? Am now really worried and won't be able to speak to anyone until tomorrow.

kookykid · 24/02/2009 19:32

Sorry, Blue meant to say good luck at the EPU tomorrow.

audreyraines · 24/02/2009 19:47

hi pooka, i thought i was doing better last week with the morning (all day sickness) as I was managing to eat dinnerfor a couple of nights in a row which was a really big achievement. But now today, I've been vomiting and retching all day, I've really lost count of how many times it's just been relentless. Poor ds keeps saying "mummy burp, mummy cough, mummy sick" Sigh. This has got to end soon right? I've made a dr's appointment for next week if it's not better by then.

audreyraines · 24/02/2009 19:50

blue, good luck at epu, hope all okay.

kooky, most likely you might have slightly low iron and they might want to supplement a bit - just a guess, but it might not be anything dramatic. still. annoying you can't find out right away.

LittleCheese · 24/02/2009 19:54

Hi ladies just over a week till my scan now although i definately find myself stressing less about things going wrong. Its strange. We had visitors straight away after dd was born. It was lovely to have my family and close friends around and to show off my dd.

Congratulations to all thouse who have had scans last couple of days.

I have also bought some maternity clothes for work really want some more though
